i personally did not go to mine as a protest because they wouldn't allow students to bring dates of the same gender (my prom was in 2013 and in florida so).
#i went thrice lol#i wore dresses to all three#CW alcohol i got incredibly drunk at the third one's afterparty and almost fucked someone for the first time :\#luckily i was sober enough to navigate my way outta that though#awkward to work with him afterward though#the second time i went with a girl who was a friend#we bullied the dean of students into giving us the couples discount by calling him a homophobe#we went TOGETHER after all#i had fun at all of them and don't regret any of them except getting so drunk at the afterparty of the third one a lil bit#it was hilarious though because i was a goth kid and no one expected me to really show up the first time and i showed up in this fuckin.#cinderella-ass dress with one of my good guy friends who was not a goth. with my hair done all in curls and an updo. so funny.#sorry for the tag novella damn
