I feel the same way. in real life? not for me. but the idea of having 4-6 monster lovers that all share you. I really like the idea of them all being different monsters too.

A mermaid/ siren whom you have a sort of long-distance relationship with, only being able to see you when you have enough vacation time to make it out to the beach, otherwise you mostly only get to talk to her with a magic shell she gave you that acts like a phone.

Two or three werewolves that run in a pack close to your home and all fight each other to impress you, whether with feet of strength or with enjoyable dates. You hardly get individual time with any one werewolf. The other werewolf/wolves are too jealous to leave you alone for long, and their pack mates are like family. it's not third-wheeling if everyone's having fun.

A vampire who takes up your nights, he likes Urban exploring, he takes you to older run-down buildings, long since abandoned. If he knows, he'll tell you what these places used to be, and any memories he might have there. He's a bit of a romantic and spends the daytime writing you poems and sending old-fashioned love letters. He scents the paper and everything.

Last but certainly not least, a nature spirit who lives in your backyard keeping up a lovely garden. Even if you never asked them to. Fruits and vegetables never seem to go bad when they're nearby, and they enjoy cooking with you. Telling you which spices would go best with your meal off the top of their head. they also have tentacle-like vines that they can bend to their will.

All of these monsters would like to be your one and only, but they're satisfied with whatever time they get. And of course, fucking you braindead every chance they get. Mermaid girlfriend who can go down on you for hours, hell she doesn't need to come up for air. Werewolf gang bang! WEREWOLF GANG BANG! Vampire fucking you in an abandoned hospital making you scream until the locals are spreading ghost stories. and a Nature fairy using vines and plants to make you cum until you pass out in a soft bed of grass. all of these options are right at your fingertips, all you have to do is ask.

Help I submitted that "MC's immune to Luci's siren song" ask and the brainrot has gotten so much worse- There's just so much substance to it! It inherently messes with Lucifer's ego and sense of pride, at the start of his and MC's relationship he's probably silently seething 24/7 cause what do you mean this random human he's never heard of before is entirely immune to all of his hypnosis magic???? In my headcanon of this whole AU the MC's on the more oblivious side when it comes to Lucifer's plan to keep trying to seduce them into the water, not to the point of stupidity, like no matter how much Lucifer insists they take a dip in the water they refuse unless it's like a tidepool or something cause they are aware of a sirens reputation, but still you know what I mean they're under the impression that after their first encounter Lucifer just innocently wants to be close with them and nothing else Agh and the SCENARIOS you can get with this. Okay- Like imagine with me if you will, Lucifer and the MC are spending time with one another in a secluded shallow pool of water (think like a tidepool or something similar where the waters are too shallow to properly drown in as a full grown adult), the two are kind of goofing around with one another and something something bam! MC finds themselves pinned down by and completely underneath Lucifer, and Lucifer has a thought... He could kill them right now. It's not the typical way for sirens to hunt their prey but he could use his razor sharp claws and teeth to kill and eat them like he had intended to since he met them. But, despite that being the extremely obvious solution to his "problem", Lucifer hesitates, and he finds that he's unable to will his body into harming MC, he just can't do it. And how ridiculous is that?!! The Lucifer, one of if not the most fiercest hunter of all the sirens, the man responsible for countless human deaths, finds himself unable to kill one. simple. human. How ridiculous is that?! Honourable mention the angst you could get in a situation where the MC finds out Lucifer was just planning to drown and eat them the whole time even if that's changed ("So.. Nothing we had was even real...?" type stuff) or say other sirens (not the other brothers/dateables just some random npc type characters) catch wind of MC and while they know they can't hypnotize them into the water they're not above using more forceful ways to drown them. There's so much fun to be had with this AU!!! My undying love for Luci and mermaids compels me to brainrot about it!!!!!! Monster forbidden romance for the in baybeeeeeeeee-

Oh my god... I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful this is.

There is so much ANGST potential! Say, for example, the reason why MC was out there that first night was to run away from something that happened in their life. They made it all the way to a rocky beach with no one but them and the water, and then all of a sudden, they hear the singing...and it's the most beautiful sound in the world. It immediately makes them feel better. And then of course, it came from one of the most beautiful beings they'd ever seen.

Sure they'd heard stories about sirens and their calls, and so they keep themselves safe in the shallows. However, they maybe thought that he kept coming to see them because...maybe there was something there. Anytime they were sad or stressed, they came to see him, and he made everything feel better. God, the way he smiled at them when they talked about their day. The way he asked questions to get to know them better.

That was all a lie? An elaborate manipulation? Just waiting for their guard to lower enough? How...horrible...

And so they stop going to see him. But they hate being away from the water when they're sad, so they head to different locations.

Only, there's several other sirens who have heard of rumors of the human who resisted the famous Lucifer's songs. If they managed to steal Lucifer's hunt...well, that appeals to more than a few.

They're in danger now, and they hardly even know it till they're in the thick of it.

And there's only one person who can help them.

things i do to distract myself.

i dont usually post textposts, but i decided to do something different because, its november!!! nd we all know this months is when things go wrong and i've been struggling to practice self-care so here are some of my favourite things i like to do to remind myself i am loved, and perhaps give you all some inspo if you're in a funk too!! <3

listen to music i tend to have different playlists as i believe that the music you listen to dictates your mood. as much as i enjoy my jazz and classical, when im in a funk i need to be hype 24/7!! my go to's are usually anything future, miss stallion, glorilla, king von, tate mcrae, charli or carti. i need to listen to music that'll manifest success and confidence.

read i'll read anything really, just to keep my mind off social media BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT TO ROT MY BRAIN WHEN IM FEELING SULKY. im currently reading letters from a stoic by seneca - im learning plenty and its keeping me stay calm

body movement i love a good run, or a pilates sesh so i'll put all my anger and sadness into pushing myself to run an extra k, or that extra set. sometimes its nice to just clear ur lungs and ur mind, and it'll build my strength physically and mentally!!! plus i'll look even better so he'll regret ever ending things with me

visit the beach im a beach girl forever, the ocean has always been my best friend. a quick swim will alwayssss level me out. there's cute boutiques and my favourite açai place along the esplanade and i love walking down there during the sunset or sunrise to keep me busy.

annoy my friends i love my friends so much they're my everything!!! they bring me peace even if we're loud. there's something about surrounding yourself with positive and loving energy that i'll never get tired of, if i could i would give all my love in my body to them.

write ive always been a writer i think. i have to get everything in my mind onto paper or a document or i lose it. its nice to write in my journal about things im grateful for, things im scared about and things i want to achieve. as well as just what went on in my day - i think that now im out of high school im living a much more dramatic and different life to what i used to, so i need to process these things. also i write w a muji pen so it makes the experience so fun.

cry no matter how nonchalant i try to be, im a crier - even at the clubs (it gets embarrassing) but i find it a great way to rid my anger, sadness or stress - better out than in.

meditate ive only just started practicing this, but its very peaceful!! well duh i like to do it during sunset in the park near one of the beaches i frequent (so i can swim too hehe) and the sound of the waves, the people and life can kind of block out anything in my head!!

clean/re-organise my room organised room = organised mind!! (my dad taught me that one) but during this process i always find something that i forgot about and i get distracted, so it takes longer but i get the job #done

call my mummy my mum and i are close, shes my best friend so i tell her everything (except my tattoos and my ehem..rendevouz..) her wisdom has helped me in a lot of situations...i tend to write down the advice she gives me so i dont forget and fuck up. again :p

retail therapy maybe not the most healthy way of self-care, but it gets the job done i cannot lie!! sometimes you need to spend a little bit of money to sustain some peace in your life. you do need that glossier lip liner babe, get it, you deserve it.

ofc some of these things may not work well for you, but self-care is what makes you feel good!!! im open to new ideas of self-care so lmk what you guys do :p + thank you so much for 3 blessed years on this account, eternally grateful for everyone <3

Headcannons for sokeefe when they have children

AHHH OKAY OKAY

Keefe is like terrified. Like he cries sm before he first kid is born. He is so scared he's gonna be like his own parents. But once he sees that kid he just...he just knows he's gonna be there for them no matter what. And he is.

Sophie is so scared, but only one of them can be scared at a time. So during her (peaceful elvin) pregnancy, she's pretty relaxed, convincing Keefe he'll do a good job. After the kid is born, however, it's her turn to panic. Keefe comforts her.

Their kids are so sweet. Very emotionally mature. These two KNOW how to raise kids. They will NOT be going through what they had to.

Keefe takes the kids for ice cream and teaches them art (Sophie can't art it's so bad actually)

Keefe takes them to do fun stuff that's not irresponsible

They both take the kids outside a lot

They aren't too strict or relaxed. They're not strict enough to be super big on "No dating until *this* age" but also not saying that some super dangerous reckless kid is good enough for them. Their kids have good heads on their shoulders because they're advised but can make their own mistakes.

Sophie cooks. Keefe physically cannot cook.

Keefe doesn't usually get mad, just disappointed. When they're rude though he's mad.

Keefe has never yelled at them in a serious tone. Like he's loud as hell but when they're in trouble he doesn't yell. He talks to them.

They both explain things to their kids, not just say "because I said so"

He notices minor expressions about his kids and talks to them privately- he stopped yelling out feelings in front of people.

He never uses his abilities on them. Ever.

Their kids can bring someone home and he'll act all "if you ever hurt my kid-" and then laughs and is like "jk hi welcome!!" And his kids' s.o.'s are like "so you won't hurt me if I hurt your kid??" and he's like "haha no my kid will :D" and his kid smiles

They constantly go to the beach

Home is very important to them. They're open.

She teaches her kids to make pies and play her little human games and teaches them a love of reading

Draw The Squad: Irratino Edition

Beach days: love 'em or hate 'em, they're definitely a unique time.

Around three weeks ago (give or take) I started working on a love letter to the Murdle fandom. I grabbed as many Irratino designs as I could (one per creator) and threw them all in a Draw-the-Squad template. Today, I am finally done.

This was my first time doing a Draw-the-Squad, so hopefully I did it right! I also wanted to challenge myself to represent the styles of everyone I put in there: that includes line color and shading. I think it adds to just how creative everyone here is: all of our designs look so different from one another, even though we have the same info to go off of.

If you didn't see your design, then I'm sorry. Eleven characters is a lot to work with, and I really tried to include everyone I could.

i will make anything about brocedes and selkie princess marrying a land king is no different.

little prince lewis being bored of his lessons and sneaking out of the castle to play on the beach where he meets little selkie princess nico, who has also snuck away from her lessons to explore the human world. they play in the sand, practice sword fighting, go swimming. lewis teaches nico about humans and nico teaches lewis about selkies. they're both lonely children, and they soon become best friends, but it gets harder as they get older and have more responsibility in their homes.

when their kingdoms are at war they stop seeing each other, but years later, nico agrees to marry lewis, and leaves her home to live in lewis' castle. she is scared at first, and things are still tense between them, but as they get closer, and fall in love properly, nico decides to give lewis her pelt as a sign of love and trust.

Plss little prince Lewis meeting tiny selkie princess nico on the beach! Both snuck away from their lessons and they have fun playing together! Nico shows Lewis where she hid her pelt, making him promise never ever to steal a selkie pelt cos some people in her family never came home! Maybe her mama is missing too!

Keke finding Nico at the beach and bring scared, needing his pup to come home because humans are dangerous, even tiny ones like Lewis!

After that nico doesn't visit that much anymore, only sometimes in her little seal form which is so cute and soft! Lewis loves stroking the soft white fur! Nico is sometimes in her human form too, holding her pelt close to her chest though, she cannot let anyone steal it!

They grow up seeing each other as much as their responsibilities allow it, Lewis sneaking Nico in to the castle to show her around and Nico taking Lewis swimming. Eventually a war starts between their kingdoms as Lewis's kingdom is overfishing and maybe the selkies stole something from Lewis's kingdom. Its war now and both Lewis and nico are worried about their childhood friend.

After years of tension, Nico agrees to marry Lewis in exchange for an alliance. She hates leaving home but needs to protect them!

Nico is anxious at first, hiding her pelt at a different spot every few days and being so sure lewis will hurt her, but Lewis is tired from fighting and just wants peace too, and the selkie still is the grumpy little know it all she was as selkie pup, he missed her!

Nico shyly offering Lewis her pelt kne day plsss! She loves him dearly and they are happy, and it's to show she trusts him and wants to be with him! And the first thing Lewis does is bring her to the beach and tell her to visit her family!

i can't share a lot about them since i'm still working on them, but i’ll share what i have so far. keep in mind that the information might change

all of my characters are from sona, a music-based planet. there are a total of 7 subspecies of sonancians, and they're named after the music modes and are also based off of musical instruments

IONIANS

ionians of iona are the vocal-based sonancians. not only are they known for their singing, but they are also good at mimicking voices and other sounds, echolocation, and their keen listening (thanks to their big ears)

there are two types of ionians, and that’s:

land ionians,

live in caverns, coves, beaches, rainforests- generally tropical/wet climates

very social

cannot survive in water

and sea-ionians

live in bodies of water, like oceans, lakes, etc

a bit less social

used to be unable to survive outside of water, but now can in modern day

are more likely to have “air asthma”; carries around water inhaler

they are considered “children of sirens” because they easily lure other types of sonancians with their beautiful voices- like the siren animal that’s native to iona

contrary to common myths about sirens, most of them don't lure people in bad faith. they are soothsayers that predict events depending on what sirens sing. they and ionians get bad rep due to other sonancians believing that they CAUSE bad happenings, when in reality the sirens just foresee the future

dym (left) is a sea-ionian and a soprano. dia’s (right) a land-ionian and a contralto (and those are pretty rare!!)

random facts:

ionians like shiny stuff like jewelry. this is because they believe that it can extend their lifespan

they have a lot of medicines, but a common one that they're known for is the ones that help with healing voices

DORIANS

next up are dorians of doro! dorians are the dancers of sonancians, and are known for introducing makeup, masks, and sign language, as they use them to make their dances more interesting. dorians are within the top 3 strongest sonancians since their strength comes from dancing, but they are very protective about their beauty, so they try not to beat people up lol

i’m working on their culture at the moment, but if there was a way to describe it- their culture is full of celebrations/holidays, and festivales

mai is one of the few types of dorian. not exactly sure what type yet, but just know she is idol + gyaru themed and does not wear masks, more of just makeup

random facts:

dorians gift others face masks or any piece of their dancing outfit to show that they love them, platonically or romantically

dorians are more likely to have dancing stims that are uncontrollable. it’s very acceptable to them but to other sonancians it might be odd unfortunately

they do not eat meat!

PHRYGIANS

phrygians of phrygia are the percussion-based type of sonancians! the membranophone type of phrygians especially are within the top 3 strongest sonancians. i don't have their culture down yet, but just know that they have a lot of pride in themselves for their strength, bravery, and stubbornness. they live in hotter climates, like deserts, and HATE being in cold ones. they also like spicy foods!

rocky (left) is a membranophone type phrygian and kodus (right) is an idiophone type phrygian. both are cousins btw. fun fact, rocky, despite being fire-themed, does NOT like some spicy foods, and prefers salty/savory ones. they only eat extremely spicy stuff when they're stressed out though

random facts:

some phrygians break their horns intentionally and wrap them with colored bandages. they are seen as delinquents

they wear piercings and tattoos for competitions they've won in sports, groups they are apart of, and close ones they’ve lost

idiophones have these long tails that are similar to rattlesnakes. it usually rattles in different speeds and rhythms depending on how they feel. rocky used to have this but i've changed it since they're not an idiophone

membranophones shed their skin like lizards

LYDIANS

lydians are string-based and are known to be the tallest type of sonancians- and also the most gentle. lydians are primarily known for their fast growing hair; they also use said hair as strings for their instruments. in modern times, some lydians use serums meant to stop hair growth because of how tedious it is to take care of long hair

random facts:

has whiskers, like cats

lives in the forest, inside trees

some lydians have wings! they're kinda like bugs

lydians do not have fingers, but they can still do stuff like strumming instruments. i don't know how to explain this logic

can have multiple eyes and arms

does not have ears or noses

known for their fantastic agriculture and rare, tasty delicacies

like dorians, they do not eat meat. their diet consists of mostly fruit, but they also have vegetables too

soun (left) is half lydian (guitar type lydian but without the tall height lol). octavia (right) is a cello type lydian- one of the tallest type of lydian- and is 8’8

AEOLIANS

this one is personally one of my favorites. aeolians are woodwind sonancians that mostly live on the clouds of aeolys, but some can live in colder climates, too. they have thick wool, like sheep, to keep themselves warm. because of this, they do not want to be in hotter climates.

you're probably wondering- charee, if aeolians live on clouds, how do they travel from the ground to their homes if they don't have wings? well, aeolians can fly using their horns, made out of special “windwood”. they can also control the weather with those horns as well. think of it as like unicorns- but they don't make things appear or any magical stuff. there are fairytales and myths surrounding the theory of their horns being able to make magic happen though!

random facts:

aeolians have fluffy eyelashes

in aeolys, time passes by faster

their eyes and horn glow depending on their mood

LOCRIANS

this is also one of my favorites and probably the type of sonancian i would be if i were one

locrians are the brass type of sonancians, where their horns and nails are made out of brass and they make honking sounds. they are in the top 3 strongest sonancians from mining a lot, and are pretty stubborn, like phrygians. they are also known to craft things out of gems, stones, crystals etc, as locri is rich in those types of materials. cool thing about them is they live underground, and their home looks medieval themed

random facts:

their bodies are very flexible. they can extend, twist and turn, and stretch themselves out, inspired by how tubas and stuff look. it almost feels like they don't have bones at all

ionians have a good relationship with locrians for their materials

this is an outdated design; gio is some type of locrian. i have no clue yet but i'm thinking bugle horn right now

MIXOLYDIANS

mixolydians are powered by energy; they're constantly around light and don't necessarily sleep unless there isn't enough light. they're kinda like moths with lights. mixolydians cannot touch water, and produce tears and saliva because it can cause excruciating pain for them. if you're a mix of a mixolydian, the pain is minimal… but you do get hungry easily

speaking of appetite- mixolydians cannot eat regular food. they only eat digital foods converted from energy, so like photosynthesis. as far as the overtourism is concerned, that's the only big “issue” that drives people away. and to be honest, that's great news because… they need to stay away 🗞️🗞️🗞️🗞️🗞️

random facts:

when they cry, they glitch

they can change colors on command. usually used to indicate moods or for camouflaging

their voices are naturally autotuned

their tails have stingers, and it can go from minimal pain to LOTS of pain, depending on their mood. don't anger them

Z (pictured above) is a full mixolydian, and soun is half. as i mentioned before, soun gets the guitar part from lydians, so the other half of him is a sampler. overall, he's electric guitar themed! Z is just synthesizer themed

more scuffed haikyuu headcanons because they're fun and i'm neglecting my homework. music themed this time!

hinata listens to a LOT of music, mostly on all those long bike rides to & from school and during all his solitary practice sessions, so he's been tasked with making all the workout/practice/hype playlists for the karasuno team. he takes his job very seriously, every one is unique and perfectly curated. loves making playlists for people he cares about too <3

this is a PROBLEM for kageyama. he never really listened to music before (scary) but now he spends minimum 1 night/week lying awake way too late at night listening to hinata's playlists and scrolling through genius lyrics.

kenma's got pretty broad taste but he mostly listens to ambient video game osts. minecraft, pokemon, animal crossing, anything cozy and atmospheric. he and hinata have a bunch of collaborative playlists to share new music they find with each other.

somebody said that tendou is a miku stan and like. yeah. i can see him being a huge vocaloid and nightcore fan in general, it would scratch his brain in just the right way.

probably more of a controversial take but i can see ushijima being into vocaloid too. he'd never heard of it before meeting tendou but now he uses it to hype himself up before matches. his teammates will walk past and see him sitting on a bench with his earbuds in, no expression on his face, they all assume he's listening to a podcast or something. no. it's hatsune miku and ushijima is having the time of his life. he and tendou went as rin and len for halloween one year

pretty much the only time that tsukishima isn't listening to music is when he's actively playing in a match. he listens to a lot of lyrical & experimental singer-songwriter type stuff, music that would be considered pretentious if he actually talked to people about it but he's very private about his taste. only uses wired headphones.

he and yamaguchi share a lot of music, too. not like hinata and kenma where they're trading playlists though, it's just that they share tsukishima's earbuds a lot and if yamaguchi hears something he likes, he likes asking questions about it/the lyrics/the artist. it's a win-win for both of them, yamaguchi learns about tons of new music that way and tsukishima loooooves infodumping about the things he's into <3

sugawara loves american oldies. frank & nancy sinatra, the beach boys, a lot of jazz and swing n shit. anything you can slow dance to! he's a romantic. the boys tease him about it a lot but secretly they all find it super endearing. probably takes swing classes on weekends now and then tbh

atsumu and osamu go to punk shows together. it's more osamu's thing (atsumu's personal taste is a little more bro-y) but they both love unwinding in the mosh pit after a long day. the dashboard in their car is full of cassette tapes from diy bands they've seen. no they do not have a tape deck

oikawa and iwaizumi listen to a lot of the same music. anything with a good beat really. the difference being that iwaizumi can dance and oikawa cannot (to his credit, he does try. he really, really tries.)

Enjax headcanons

(Featuring Wenvier because they're all my fav)

Lots of pet names. Mainly "babe".

Lots of PDA. At the beginning, Enid was the one who initiated the most and she thought she might come off as clingy so she stopped for a second. But then Ajax was like "did I do something? What about my cuddles?". Since then, he knows he can indulge in the PDA as well.

It's actually a whole new process for him because she's his first girlfriend and he's naturally guarded and used to be alone. At the beginning, he was afraid to be overwhelmed by the relationship. But on the contrary, and because Enid also gives him personal space when he needs to, their couple is natural and easy.

Enid's mom obviously doesn't like them together. It's not against Ajax because he didn't particularly give a bad impression when they met, but she just wants Enid to be with a werewolf. Her dad thinks he's a nice guy though.

On the other hand, Ajax's moms LOVE Enid. They're just so glad that there's someone to make their son happy and that he doesn't stay in the solitude gorgons tend to get used to.

Enid lives for Starbucks. Ajax, as the dutiful boyfriend he is, always gets her coffee. Pink Drink is her fav ofc.

Ajax could eat pizza every day at any hour of the day. For his birthday, Enid made a pizza cake for him and it was the best day of his life.

He's the one who takes pictures for her Insta.

Ajax often goes back to Greece for the holidays to see his family there. They have a beach house and he invited Enid over the summer before their senior year. They spent the most amazing week together, his family loved her and Enid was just so happy to work on her tan. Tons of Instagram pics ofc. It's also where and when they had sex for the first time.

Cliché but Ajax is a big Mamma Mia's fan. He knows all the songs. For his bachelor party, Xavier got Ajax's moms and his aunt to perform Super Trouper just like in the movie and he laughed for hours.

Enid's happy place is Disney World. Ajax surprised her by taking them (him, Enid, Wednesday and Xavier) there during their senior year. She was overexcited and smiled during the whole thip and Ajax was just glad to make his Disney princess happy. Enid and Ajax had the best time. Xavier was just glad for the Star Wars universe. Wednesday was miserable throughout the whole trip. (There's this hilarious picture of Wednesday with her usual resting bitch face and Minnie Mouse ears Enid forced her to wear. Everyone always cracks up when they see this pic.)

Enid totally convinced him to dress up as Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder for Halloween.

In terms of jealousy, Enid will not hesitate to get her claws out when some girl tries to make a move on her man. For the longest time, Ajax thought that he wasn't the jealous type but that was until his older brother started to hit on Enid every time he saw her (I headcanon that he has a brother named Hector, I read it in a fanfic and I thought the Greek mythology reference was hilarious). It's meant to be as a joke but since he has some younger sibling complex with his brother who likes to rile him up, he's always so angry about it. Although Enid found his jealousy cute, she knows how complicated his relationship with his brother is and ended up making fun of Hector, saying he didn't stand a chance and that Ajax was way better anyway. Ajax always smiles smugly when he remembers Hector's gaping face.

Might break up for a while after they graduate because of differences: pressure on Enid from her family because she should have a werewolf mate, different goals and projects etc. Would definitely find their way back to each other a few years later thanks to Wednesday and Xavier making them realize they cannot live without the other.

Will get married and have at least 4 kids because Enid has always wanted a big pack.

They're the godparents of Ravenna, Wednesday and Xavier's only daughter.

Well, they're not easy to make but I've figured it out. I cannot hecking wait to make all of them. idk where they're all going to fit on my farm, but sooner or later I'll find a space and THE CROPS WILL GROW FOREVER!

Fun facts I've learned so far about the greenhouses: (cut for spoilers)

-Their creation takes the Nel'Vari mana infuser table and the Construction table. You make the season gems at the infuser and then the house itself at the construction table. They're not cheap, but not expensive either. It mostly takes time because they need Mana drops which take forever to craft. So set some of those to build on one of your mana tables while you do other things! Two different Nel'Vari crafters can make them so it's worth it so set them to run for a while.

-They look like they teleport you to a pocket dimension place. When I picked up my green house after tilling some soil and put it back down the space on the other side seemed exactly the same, which should hopefully mean that moving them around if necessary should be easy without harming the crops at all. Honestly? A very good set up if you ask me.

-They're quite tall! I'm not sure where I'm going to put them all that it won't be hard to see my paths or cover my pond or anything. Some of them may wind up on the beach with some of my other buildings.

-You can seem to access them from behind. I did try that but the prompt to enter only came up at the front even though I could see myself through it when I went behind.

Things I haven't tried yet:

-I don't know yet if you can put them down on the other farms, but seeing as you have to use Nel'Vari crafting to make them I think it'd be a bit silly if you couldn't.

-Haven't yet made a second one to see if you could make multiple access points to the same greenhouse plane or if they all lead to separate ones or what. I'll mess around with that after I get one of each, likely.

-I haven't planted crops yet so I don't know if the seasonal pests and things are active inside of them. That will be interesting to find out, I think. It would be funny if a bit of a hassle if I walk into my summer greenhouse to find the crops on fire when it's snowing outside.

Either The Snow Maiden (Susan Ivanova childhood angst) or If Equal Affection Cannot Be (Marcus Cole, death and poetry) or Amo, Amas, I Love a Lass (more Marcus death and pining). Babylon 5 is the only fandom I've ever really gone angsty in.

Like...most of them? I'm not much for angst. I guess A Way to Walk on Water and Not Drown ended with the big theatrical happily ever after business...

I feel like I got some sort of weird LJ comment once, but I barely remember it and it may have been more spam than anything.

Nope.

Love me a good crossover. I don't write them often because doing them right requires a lot of thought, but they're very fun to do. I've written the most for due South, and the conceit of "Fraser and Thatcher come to New Burbage for Shakespeare-related reasons" has worked well for me. I also quite like the Wonderfalls/Fringe crossover I did back when Peter was missing...I felt like I had a cool idea I followed through on, and the canons meshed better than one might expect at first.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? 

I vaguely recall someone asking permission to translate something into Russian once.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

When I was 13 or so, with a RL friend, we wrote several hamfistedly shippy DS9 and Voyager fics together over the (landline) phone.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

AO3 says it's Fraser/Thatcher (due South) with Ivanova/Garibaldi (B5) a very close second, which seems about right. I'm also extremely fond of Maggie/Joel (NX) and McMurphy/Richard (China Beach).

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I'd love to finish the "Ivanova and Garibaldi try to honeymoon on Earth and get swept into defying a political plot against the president" fic I started years ago, but it always seems to require more plot than I want to deal with.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue. I can't write it unless I can hear it in the character's voice in my head, and it seems to serve well for accurate characterization.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Plot. Plot plot plot plot plot. I just want to write characters vibing with each other, not have them do things!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've done it a couple times. Most of it was Russian, for the skating RPF, and for that I just googled a lot and apologized for any errors in the notes. I think it adds some flavor, and unless you're doing something really specific you're probably framing it so someone with no knowledge of the language can get the gist, so even if you've gotten it wrong it doesn't matter that much.

It was either DS9 or Voyager. I would say I deleted all the evidence, but alas, usenet is forever.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

The Future an Affirmation (China Beach; the AU where McMurphy and Richard get married and we follow them for the next 25 years. Except backwards, because I very much enjoyed writing it like that. I feel like I effectively packed all my thoughts and feelings about McMurphy into that fic and did justice to what she would have done and been had these circumstances played out.)

I have a lot of honorable mentions, but maybe the most honorable is Out of the Ashes, a Northern Exposure fic where Maggie resorts to staying with Joel after her mother burns her house down. I got a fair number of "this reads just like an episode" comments, which I was quite proud of.

What sort of jobs would the triplets and friends have at the resort if they're asked to help out? Or a fun hc about each that hasn't been mentioned yet?

OOOOHHH YAAASSSS! @cheesy-cryptid and I actually had some fun little headcanons about their work in the resort! I'm gonna add in some fun little tidbits about their life in the Madrigal Resort while we're at it!

Angelina is our lovely Social Media Manager slash Influencer! She's a model for different clothing brands that will request a collaboration with her and mostly does advertisements for summer wear! She uses her popularity as a means to help advertise the Madrigal Resort and sometimes would even rope her family into her social media shenanigans. Ignacio is also fairly popular with Angelina's fans, and everyone wants to have a peak of mommy Evalina! But what mildly irks her is how Javier is always the one who would gain the most traction in her posts, especially on Tiktok. Javi doesn't like to be seen on camera, so it's been a running gag in her account to spot Javier whenever a blurb of him in the background could be seen (some would even go as far as to compile clips of blurred stolen videos of Javi and some audio recordings of his voice from Angi's many many videos). Angelina uses this to her advantage and sometimes ropes Javier into her schemes for the clout. But she makes sure to cut any on-cam face reveals of Javier.

Ignacio is our Rockin' Fiery Musician and Surf Teacher! Although he does go with Angelina for photoshoots on occasion (and is quite popular on social media as well), he's actually the star of the Madrigal Resort dinner as the lead singer and guitarist of the night! He also likes to do a little bit of fire shows with his gift when he sings. It's a headcanon of mine that he does fire breath performances for the thrill as well, but since it's a fire hazard, it's rare for him to do spitfire shows on evenings. During the day, he helps out with the kids who wants to learn how to surf. He also accompanies willing adults as well! You can say that he's also a volunteer life saver, but only if the lifeguards on the resort are too shorthanded for the amount of rifts in the beach. Angelina would sometimes film Ignacio with his shirt off for thirst trap videos

Javier is our All Rounder Manager! It's not really a shock on how Javier is a jack-of-all trades. The only difference is he's a master of all. He can definitely make advertisements and catch banger shots of the resort with his trusty drone and DSLR camera which is the main reason why the marketing for the Madrigal Resort is sky-high. He manages the website and bookings sometimes, and he schedules Ignacio's performances during the night. He can be an event coordinator and floor director, but he cannot, for the life of him, become the center of attention. He says it's too much of a drag. Contrary to what you may think, Javier knows all of the up-to-date trends and would sometimes give tips to Angelina on what content she should do next. He is hyperaware of his own popularity as the mystery triplet of the Madrigals, so he cashes in on that as well. But you can say that his biggest responsibility is to keep Angelina and Ignacio out of trouble (and possibly not to ignite a fire in the resort). His work doubled when Auri and Diego came into the picture, but he's thankful that Diego has enough sense in him to get the others out of trouble too. He's a big sweetheart, but he tends not to show it as much.

Everyone in the Madrigal Family is, one way or another, involved with the Madrigal resort!

Julieta's side of the family deals with room management, hospitality, and the resort's menus! Julieta and Agustin are head and sous chefs respectively, Isabela is front of the house and head steward, Luisa does front of the house too, but is in charge of the heavy lifting, and Mirabel is the one who does official Madrigal Resort tours (with a musical twist).

Pepa's side of the family is in charge of event planning and coordination, especially for bigger events like weddings, anniversaries, debuts, quinceanreas, and big celebrations! Pepa and Felix are head event coordinators, Dolores deals with the networking (wardrobe, make-up, stage decorators, you name it), Camilo is head hospitality and host for events, and little Antonio is still too young to really help out, but he often lets his animal friends to tricks for guests!

Bruno's side of the family deals more with internal management and advertisement! Evalina goes to board meetings in Alma's steed with Bruno. Sometimes, people tend to forget that Bruno is actually one of the owners of the resort since he mostly wears cargo shorts, a jacket with coconut stains, mismatched slippers, and overall just has an aloof look compared to his gorgeous wife.

Oh you're about to regret asking me this . . .

I don't think I ever really talked about it on tumblr, but I have a complicated relationship with The Big Bang Theory. I actually hated it for a long time. And then I ended up meeting the director, which caused me to feel bad because A) he was nice and B) it didn't seem fair that someone like me got to have that experience while there are tons of fans who would have killed for it. So I started to think maybe I should give the show another chance. And then sometime after that I finally saw an episode with Amy in it.

Now I don't believe in love at first sight unless we're talking about with a fictional character, because that's exactly what happened to me here. Amy was my favorite from the instant I saw her. It was like a trap, like she was specifically designed for me to love her, and I fell right into it. I still didn't really even like the show, but I loved Amy, and by extension, I loved her relationship with Sheldon. And all that love eventually won out over any other feelings I had on the matter.

I've kept quiet about this for a long time, but back in 2016 I very nearly became obsessed with Shamy. I'm actually still really not sure how I avoided it then. I had been working this tedious wfh part-time freelance job and often left TBS reruns on in the background so I had something to listen to while I worked, and it got to the point that I started looking up fanfiction for them. But then the job ended and somehow I suppressed all that until like, I don't know, this past February?

It was just such a joy to see these two characters who started out so, so similar to one another push against each other and slowly grow together through their interactions. I think it's interesting, too, to watch characters who have dedicated their lives to logic and the pursuit of pure knowledge suddenly have to grapple with questions of love and fate and the chaos all of that can bring.

Additionally, I really appreciate this story of finding your first love later in life. I feel like that's pretty rare to see in TV shows and it makes Sheldon and Amy feel really special. Like they're so different from the other couples on TBBT. They're so sweet and innocent and the other characters make fun of them for it, but they have the most stable relationship out of any of them. Even when they broke up, it only ended up making them stronger. Especially after that, I really get the sense that theirs wasn't some blind infatuation or a settling for one another, they genuinely chose each other and were committed to bringing out the best in each other.

Sorry this is getting long. You didn't give me a number so I'm just here gushing. I'm going to close with some of my favorite Shamy moments.

#1 The Blanket Fort

I cannot even talk about this episode without crying. I'm actually crying right now. This encapsulates everything I love about them. For the uninitiated, Sheldon was upset because he wasn't invited to this symposium he wanted to go to and spent a large part of the day complaining about it. He was still complaining about it on Date Night, where he finally asks Amy, "Do you think there comes a point in life when it stops feeling bad to be left out of things?" Amy answers, "Probably not." When Sheldon goes on to say it reminds him of when he was younger and his siblings would build forts and not let him in, Amy offers to build a fort with him now. And so they do. And it is glorious. And the way they smile at each other here is just so pure it makes me ache.

#2 The Proposal

Possibly my favorite moment of the whole series. Loved watching Sheldon's silent journey from his office to the cab to the airport to the flight to New Jersey to another cab to Amy's temporary housing in Princeton to wind up here. Excellent.

#3 The Reunion Kiss

After what was it? Like ten episodes of them broken up? God this was so satisfying. Time to go listen to some Beach Boys.

#4 The Nobel Prize

Ugh this whole exchange. Again, for the uninitiated, Sheldon and Amy are up for a Nobel for the discovery of super asymmetry along with these two other scientists from Chicago. Since only three people can share a Nobel, the guys from Chicago suggest cutting Amy out of the nomination. Knowing that winning the Nobel is Sheldon's dream and that this might give him the best shot, Amy tells him to do it. Spoiler alert, the next day he adamantly refuses to go through with the plan.

#5 The First Kiss

This also ranks up there as one of my favorite studio audience reactions ever. I really don't understand how people can claim to hate "laugh tracks," I genuinely love them. I enjoy feeling like I'm part of a shared experience, the reactions can add a lot to the moment, and I think the presence of the audience really pushes the cast and crew to perform their best. Anyway, as I was saying before, the absolute shocked gasp from the audience here is one of my favorites (plus shout out to the one person who whistled). Aside from that, they weren't even a couple here and it's so cute how Sheldon just closes his eyes and kisses back. He could have tried to move away, but he didn't.

I could really go on and on about these two, but I'll stop at 5. To sum up: Shamy 10/10 otp. :')

If Trunks is the president of Capsule Corp then I think that he should hire Goten for some small job, like the mailman for the building, becasue Goten really begs him for it and says that it wouod really help him out a ton bc he was having trouble keeping a job down and his mother was growing increasingly frustrated with him.

So Trunks throws him a bone and lets him be the mailman and Goten sort of sucks at it but people LOVE him and he really livens up the place. Hes sort of bad at reading the envelopes and remembering where they go but once he does have them sorted he gets to walk down the cubicle aisles and hurl mail at people and they all love him. He has a great presence and is very charismatic and kind and is overall a lot of fun. He'll stick around for a conversation and theres always a laugh. So the delivery is sort of slow and the accuracy sort of spotty but everybody cherishes him too much to care.

The one thing though is that Goten is very transparent and one-faced and he cant lie and feels no need to, and he cant really keep his mouth shut about anything either. So within the first two days Everybody in the building knows that hes the childhood best friend of their cute new young president and that's why he has the job. The reception ranges from "Awwww so cute <3" to "what they're best friends and he only have him a mailman job :/ Well whatever I'm glad hes here hes so fun."

And in the first week everybody has heard some story from Goten about one of he and Trunks's misadventures, or some embarassing story or info about Trunks, or just information about Trunks that isnt quite embarrassing but is still way too personal for a workplace environment.

And it's starting to affect Trunks's reputation. His authority was already questionable due to his age and low patience for bureaucracy, and now that everybody knows about the time that he had the shits while at the beach, or the time that he cried at the movie theater, or the times that he lost to Goten while sparring - Well, Trunks is starting to feel like nobody is taking him seriously. He walks through the halls and while the ladies still oggle him, theres less admiration, and more of the feeling that they want to pinch his cheeks. The men dont defer to his authoritative presence anymore, instead acting chummy or like they're older and therefore wiser than him.

One day there is a distinct commotion on one floor of the office, and when Trunks goes to check it out, Goten is regaling everybody with yet another story. The diligent office space had turned into a pit of comradery. When Trunks shows up people start waving at him and laughing amongst themselves and pretending to work, and when Goten sees him he does what Trunks thinks is the worst thing that he has ever done. Caught up in the atmosphere, he stands up off of the mail cart and announces to the room "HEY! TRUNKS-CHAN IS HERE!!" with open arms, as if for a hug.

Trunks just goes up to him and asks, through gritted teeth, if he could see him in his office. His face is flushed but he is holding his composure, becasue he cannot just commit a murder in front of his employees like this.

Goten is genuinely excited. Hes like "WH- HAVE I BEEN SUMMONED? IVE BEEN SUMMOMED!!" becasue he had never really worked a job before that involved summoning, and he would occasionally encounter other people in elevators and stuff who had "been summoned" and were on their way to a different part of the building, and he always let it be known that he was jealous. People would tell him that it wasnt always a good thing, but he would shake his head, saying it was the principle of the thing, and that he was jealous anyway.

He tries to wrap his arm around Trunks's waist 3 times in a row, Trunks quickly rebuffing it every time. And now they're walking to the elevator and Goten is hopping around telling everybody that hes been summoned, and nobody is worried becasue they all know that Goten and Trunks are best friends. At some point Goten puts his hands on Trunks's shoulders like it's a two-man congo-line .

In his office Trunks just tells him that if he doesnt stop his bullshit then hes fired. Goten is like HUH????? WHA????? and Trunks tells him that this is a professional environment and that HIS REPUTATION IS ON THE LINE...! Goten is like "I thought you hated this job" and Trunks is like "That's beside the point."

So basically Goten has to stop filling the cubicles with cajolery and comradery and basically he has to keep Trunks's name out of his mouth or hes FIRED.

But Goten is very transparent so he starts pushing the mail cart through the halls very sadly and slowly like a miserable creature of sorts, slouching and tossing mail lackadaiscally. His fans ask him what's wrong and he tells them that if he doesnt stop fooling around, hes lost his job.

This causes Trunks's reputation to take a dramatic plunge, becasue everybody LOVES Goten the mailman, and everybody is AGHAST that he would EVER give his best friend an ultimatum like that.

I actually domt know how this is suppsoed to end. Sorry that I cant do a read-more on mobile guys

Part 2 of the review is under the cut! Beware of spoilers!

Again, I will re-iterate: This specific animation feels on par with an actual theatrical release (or hell, even some of those polished Disney direct-to-DVD movies in the 2000s like Lion King 3 or Bambi II). It is beautiful to look at.

The only animals that can take down a blue whale are Orcas, but beyond that, yes size does matter when it comes to a blue whale's low mortality rate.

I really find it sweet how this show casually has Chris naming animal friends. The show initially set it up as being Martin's "thing" and presenting Chris doing it as a rarity, but now they just have it as the "new normal" where he can name animals without Martin's influence. The very next episode does a juxtaposition of this where the entire crew goes around naming animals as the plot, but it's not a bad juxtaposition at all.

Also, I really like the idea of them naming baby animals in the language of their region. Maybe it's because I've spent too much time in the Lion King fandom but I find that really unique. (And context: Mambiky means "Jump" in Malgasy).

Since he didn't name the mom, I will: Mihira (meaning "Sing" in Malagasy)

Maybe it's because I hyper fixate on the flash games too much which resulted in me caring way more about the disc colors than I should, but it is so aesthetically pleasing that these discs are blue and green to match their animals' colors and users (I forgot to mention this in Part 1 but the Anaconda Disc should've been green dammit)

I am slowly warming up to these new suits. I'm not even kidding. I like how goofy they are. And once again, this is the same episode where the fucking Wild Pony Suit was in a callback, so of course I'm going to praise these suits.

She plottin'

Those Zachbots get mangled by the enemy literally once a week and yet they're strong enough to chuck this big-ass turtle into the beach?? Also, what happened to that Tortuga disruptor blast, that would be very useful right now.

Also also, the Tortuga can swim. This is the equivalent of throwing a crocodile into the river with the intent to kill it, hoping it won't bite you or swim away to safety.

I did the math. They spent a full minute and 10 seconds focusing on this model of the Earth completely deteriorating. When I first asked, I kept asking myself "What is the point?" I've seen this episode almost four times - Knowing how it ends, I think this episode would have shot itself in the foot if they didn't include this scene. More on that later, but yeah, it is a good scene.

Fun fact: This is the exact reason why Indris are endangered. And for a species that literally cannot evolve anywhere else that, is a keystone species of the very habitat they have gone to evolve in, that is the last thing they need. I'm surprised the episode didn't mention that, but that's just me.

Legitimate question here: Where the fuck is Rex?

No really, where the fuck is he? He's usually the one who mans the pavers while Paisley overviews. We saw him literally just 2 episodes ago. In a vacuum, it makes little sense, but is equally as minute of an issue. But once again, if you know how this episode ends, it becomes a major plot-hole. If they resolve this in a future episode, ideally in the next batch of episodes, fine I'll lay off but there is no reason for him to not be here.

Notice Zach and Paisley's differing reactions to the Kratts telling them to fuck off. This will come into play later, but it is a decent example of a set-up to a pay-off, (again, can only be noticed from a retrospective view). And I think it does help said pay-off.

I know that Zach has tried to kill the bros before multiple times, as with all the other villains but I can't be the only one who was shocked at how the Zachbots almost SLICED CHRIS IN HALF on a kids' show. I actually yelled "oh shit!" a this!

6. Did it not occur to you that maybe Zach, who has done this countless of times before for years on end, would probably be able to undo what you plan on doing, because that's EXACTLY what he does!

Petition to have Chris be the new villain in Kung Fu Panda 5, the Chameleon ain't got shit on him.

THis show can be hilariously badass when it needs to be.

And here is a huge contender for the best scene in the entire damn show. These 2 octopuses go out of their way to save Chris from the Zachbot. It's one of those things that is so random that it you wind up liking it so much because of what it does.

Also, I think there was a missed opportunity for Chris to activate Octopus Power here.

I like how polite she was in asking them to leave. At first glance, it's odd and funny, but just wait. We're reaching the home stretch here.

Once again, this is another juxtaposition and one that is so cleverly written. Paisley is obsessed with order, believing nature to be messy and in need of "correction" through building. Her entire belief system being deconstructed by seeing the coral reef being built naturally and seeing its beauty is an amazing bit of dramatic irony that surprises me even for this show. It's an interesting study on the character.. (though the fact that up until this point she's been painfully underutilized, makes previous episodes.. feel kinda downy).

This is another interesting step. Most villain redemptions (well written ones at least) focus on the villain regretting their past actions and acknowledging them to be in the wrong. Whilst that step is (unfortunately) kinda missing in this episode, it showcases something equally enthralling. They change for the better out of a specific concern for the future. As in, "If I stop doing X, then this bad thing will not happen because it should not happen." I don't often see that enough in most shows, so once again, this is a very ingenuitive take on the character. If I sound like a parrot, it's only because this particular moment of the episode is the beginning of the trajectory change for the entire fucking show, so I have to focus on it and how it's written specifically so we can get to the elephant in the room.

There is nothing - Absolutely nothing that prepared me for this moment. I was in sheer denial the whole time, waiting for the catch. I thought it was going to be a fake-out like the one in the Christmas special, or just the villain surrendering for the episode. I was fully ready for a twist. Only to realize that this WAS the twist. They pushed themselves into a corner they can't back out of.

Paisly Paver, is one of the good guys now.

Now, here's the question on everybody's minds? Is this change permanent? I mean, despite Wild Kratts's strong continuity, they do hit the reset button a lot when it comes to some things. Well, in an article by Martin Kratt, he says in a non-spoilery way,

“There is a surprise at the end of the special. I can't tell you too much. But there's a really interesting twist that happens with one of the show's villains in Our Blue and Green World that will change that villain’s arc for the rest of the series.”

....which means that this isn't a fluke or an April Fools' joke (which a few people, myself included initially thought). This is an honest to god change for the show.

How do I feel about it? Well... on one level, I think it could've been done really better. Like, give Paisley more appearances of her as a villain. That way we get used to her being one of the status quo villains. I took count. She has only appeared in 6 episodes of the show, half of which were solo appearances, the other half were team-ups with the villains. That's... weirdly enough far too few appearances for us to treat her as one of our main villains. The writers do seem to understand that making a villain too villainous for too long has the risk of their character crossing the moral event horizon which would shoot themselves in the foot if they ever thought about redeeming such a character. However, on the other side of things, we at least need to recognize our villain as a villain for a redemption to not be jarring, so the underutilization of Paisley brings this down.

Additionally, there's the absence of Rex and the implication it has. He's for some reason not there during Paisley's redemption and has very little to do with the creation of "Blue and Green World" at the end. Does that imply that he is still a villain? That he's not gonna get redeemed? Beyond Dabio, he’s the only villain I would’ve actually expected to get a redemption arc. Paisley and Rex have some of the healthiest relationships out of all the villains, arguably all of the characters. I don’t like the idea that Paisley will just abandon Rex and their entire business in favor of the enemy and this resulting in him them having to fight or worse - him potentially being written off the show. In a future episode that continues to delve into Paisley’s heel-face, turn, they need to resolve the loose ends in regards to that dynamic.

Also, still bummed that my Donita x Paisley ship has gone down the drain along with any chance of them teaming up. Again, if they were going to redeem her, they could’ve at least done that as one final hurrah for the character before doing it. At best, we’ll probably see an episode of them facing off which will remedy the blow a little bit.

But, with all things said and done, the execution is still okay. The way they give Paisley a heel-face turn doesn’t seem all that forced and her first incentive is to do the exact opposite of what she set out to do. Build, to help animals, not harm them. And the set-up they do is pretty clever. She’s less outwardly shitty about it as Zach is, she grills him sometimes, and the purpose of the “rock” scene comes very much into play, tying the plot together in a neat little bow.

And again, the fact that they had the balls to do this and to follow through on it, earns a lot of my respect.

I get that it’s standard for villain redemptions to come with a wardrobe change but this is ridiculous. The colors do not match AT. ALL. I really hope they don’t make this her permanent look, or make Rex’s new wardrobe change anything like this (if he gets one).

Wait... so are they narrating or talking directly to the audience? It feels like I'm watching an episode of Go Diego Go lmao.

I was going to question how the fuck Blue and Green World was allowed to be authorized and made, especially with Paisley's track record, but then I remembered that the Kratts own a goddamn flying turtle and other inventory and shit. Getting the funds for this must have been the equivalent of purchasing glasses for the eclipse!

Some Wild Kratts kids from the earlier seasons! Obviously we can't hear them speak because their VAs are grown up now but it's still nice seeing them again.

Ignoring how allowing a bunch of kids to fully interact with wildlife without major adult supervision can go hilariously wrong here, (gotta suspend my disbelief), this is such a great way of showing how construction can be done without going at the expense of wildlife or sacred places in general. It's a message that I think should be pushed way more!

An instrumental reprise of the musical number without any singing!! Glory be!!!

The lack of a climax. Like, the trailers hyped it up as this big special and the climax is not a big battle but just one villain saying "nope, no more" and another just fucking off. Maybe it's to subvert our expectations but you could've worked around this!

Paisley's wardrobe change.

Aviva once again having to be dumbed down for the sake of the plot... *sigh.*

PROS:

It still felt big. It felt like a bigger episode with bigger stakes [sorta] and bigger characterization than your regular episode. I'm of the opinion that S7 is the most experimental of the lot so far, because they spent 2 years working out their scripts and animations, and they knew that a section of the fanbase would be waiting so they decided to play by their strengths, but take more risks with it, do things outside of the show's comfort zone to lead it to new heights. It's "out there." This episode is a perfect example of that and for as many times as it misses, it also hits too. I like the animals, I like the suits, the animation, the themes, the morals, the writing, the characters, the settings, the education. On some level, it's everything I've been expecting for in S7.

They definitely raised the bar this season with this special. I'd argue that it's one of the best episodes of the season so far, one of the best two-parters and arguably the best episode of the series. Now that isn't a final verdict, there are several others I like far more, but I would call this the most respectable well-conceived story of the show, and it raised my expectations here. Initially I was worried this episode would potentially lead to the show's downfall but after analyzing it, I think I see good things for Wild Kratts from here on out.

Final Ranking: 8.9/10.

Wild Kratts - Our Blue and Green World: Part 1: Review [Spoilers]

Welp, here it is, the Wild Kratts TV movie (not to be confused with the feature film they've been teasing us with since 2021). There's been a lot of hype around this special and season, especially with how much the latter was being hyped up during the hiatus. Let's see if the blue and green bros were able to deliver: Spoilers under the cut

Well, this is certainly an attention grabber!

This entire live action intro is shot and edited like an animated Wild Kratts episode, it's glorious.

HELP THIS IS SO RELATABLE. Also, THE BOYS ARE FIGHTING

Lmao I don't think they do it very often, but using animals/nature in their insults is very creative.

Also, whooping crane episode when?

This entire song is mercifully short. Like most character sung songs in Wild Kratts, it's not good, but this at least is clever in its lyrics and its visuals. It feels like a Disney reference at best and I am content with that. I also ADORED seeing the Draco and Walrus Suit return again. It's arguably the best musical number in the series. No, that is not saying a lot.

CHRIS WHY ARE YOU MILDLY INCONVENIENCED YOU GOT ACRAPHOBIA FALLING FROM THAT HEIGHT

When I first saw the clip, I thought that they were going somewhere with this, like they'd activate Peacock Powers at the end when they recognized the compatibility and blue and green. But nope. Wasted potential is an understatement.

Also, where the fuck are they right now? In a previous shot there was Target the Chameleon, implying that they've been to Madagascar, but that is an Indian peafowl, and as far as I'm concerned, they don't live in Madagascar. Were they just having an off-day? These animals have little to nothing to do with the plot when they really shouldn't have, so I don't see why they couldn't have just shown a projector image or something.

Remember when I joked about the Wild Pony Power Suit returning in S7.... fuck you Apollo.

Man, they are eating it up with the animation here. It's hard to tell with screengrabs but man, is it fluid.

The first half of this episode is mixed. While it feels like the brothers are incredibly stubborn, it also does make sense for them to be this fixated on their favorites. So I can totally buy this. It could've been insufferable to watch, but it wasn't.

Did you find that funny? Because not only do they do a similar joke like that later on, but they follow through on that joke in the most unexpected way you will shit your pants when you first ingest it.

Oh my god if they make a Creature Power Suit off of that bird, I will take back any diss I've made, that is so beautiful.

Good to know that Aviva put the button near the chest and not near the back.

Maybe it's just me but this is kinda pushing it. Chris is literally getting his organs crushed, I think that should matter more than A) being right or B) trying to get 2 people to stop fighting.

I'm loving the callback and what this leads up to but ew, all this does is remind me about how ugly bright the color pallatte in S6. Really glad they fixed it in S7.

HELL FUCKING YES

This episode finds really unique ways of showing how the two different biomes are interconnected. It's like Rainforest Stew's (very brilliantly handled) message only to a larger degree. Kids can learn a lot from this.

I fucking love this episode, man.

Honestly, the way they write Paisley in the first half of the episode is very in-line with her character. Most shows that do what this episode does has them be out-of-character as a set-up, but here, she's just roasting the fuck out of Zach. Once again, recontextualized entirely in the climax.

HOW THE FUCK DID HE GET TO MADAGASCAR FROM THE GODDAMN AMAZON IN ONE AFTERNOON THAT IS LIKE MORE THAN 1,000 MILES AWAY?? ARE ANACONDAS THAT FAST?????

The animation of the earth's model.

The musical number not being ass.

Paisely's catty behavior.

The Anaconda Suit.

The inventive ways they show how the stability of the Earth is complex. There are a lot of ways it functions and thus a lot of ways it needs to survive

The comedy.

Cons:

The villains do not do anything until the second half of this episode. In fact, they're left completely in the backdrop. I expected them to make their prescence known and for Aviva to invent the discs to get them together for the SAKE of fighting the villains. But no. It makes the stakes feel hollow, which is the opposite of what they should be gunning for in an hour long special that they hype the shit out of.

CONCLUSION:

It was an "okay" set-up. It did live up to some of the hype it had, but not all of it. Honestly if it wasn't for the second half of this episode, this movie would be mediocre or slightly above average, but no. They do pick themselves off the ground and... they do jump the shark. But we'll get to that next time
