I got back into my teenage obsession with Glee ever since I found out it's on Hulu and so I will now be writing for Glee characters! Requests are super welcome!

Summary: How Finn helps and supports you during your OCD episodes

This is mainly for my own comfort as I am really struggling with my OCD now.

Having contamination OCD is a debilitating disability. Not to mention suffering through it during high school. Your first week was comforting once you met with the counselor, Miss Pillsbury who also struggles with all things germs. She encouraged you to dive into a club to try and socialize with people. Thats what a club is after all, a group of people coming together for a period to support one another.

So you did, or rather, you ignored her idea until someone very handsome came up to you during a rather germs time.

it was lunch, and you were sitting alone in an empty classroom far away from the floating particles of the high school cafeteria. You sat down with a sigh as you opened up your bento box full of healthy and colorful food. after sanitizing your dried out hands, you started to eat. A few laughs and voices occasionally decorating the silence as students walked the halls.

One of those students was Finn Hudson, the quarterback for McKinley high as well as one of the guys known to be in glee club. He was rather tall, couldn't be shorter than six foot four and had soft brown hair. You had seen him in passing as you walked in the halls in between classes. he always had a smile on his face and seemed to be a very gentle and friendly person despite his popular status.

Finn saw you as you ate alone in the classroom. He saw how you were wiping off your fruits and the way that the table underneath you was still partially wet from what must have been a lysol wipe. It reminded him of Miss Pillsbury and how she struggles with OCD. He smiled at your cute frame, no taller than five foot two. He wanted to say hello but for some reason, he felt himself get nervous. As if your beauty enthralled him.

But before he could look away, you looked up from your lunch to see him. He tried to act normal.

"Why are you eating alone? We'd love to meet you." he says as he walks inside the classroom.

"Oh, um, Hi." I say as I blush softly, still stiff.

"Hi." he says softly as he walks over to the table you're at and sits down across from you. So he is incredibly kind.

"I'm Finn." he says "You're new right?"

I swallow a bite of food.

"Yeah, I'm Y/N" you say.

he smiles

"So why are you all alone in here?" he asks again.

You swallow again out of nervousness, you might as well be honest.

"Oh, I have a germ problem." You start

Finn's face softens even further if that's even possible as he listens.

"I'm guessing you've met the counselor?" He says with a cute smile

"You two have a lot in common."

You smile softly and blush again

"Yeah, she's encouraged me to join a club. She says it might help." You say.

Then, Finn smiles. again like he has an idea.

"Do you like music?" He asks

"Yeahhh?" you say, drawing your word out as if you know he's up to something.

Finn giggles a little before saying, "Join glee club! Or just stop by today after school to see what it's like. I'll be there." he says.

You smile softly and blush again.

"Okay" You whisper.

after school, you pack up your bag and put some hand sanitizer onto your hands, grimacing slightly as you see how dry your hands are becoming from the over use. As you stand at your locker, you see Finn walking the hall too and he gives you a smile and a wave. You smile back and wave as well before you turn back around to your locker.

Then, from behind you, a couple of football players are snickering as they both hold slashes in their hands and walk towards you. Finn watches and his usual smile quickly drops into a look of dread and worry. Finn quickly runs over to you and you turn around to see Finn, as well as these two football players all coming towards you, you flinch as they all three get so close, worried that they will touch you.

"Hey new girl, welcome to McKinley." One of the football players says with a smirk on his face as if he's up to no good.

"Don'y even think about it, dude." Finn says.

"Says you, you faggot. Everyone knows that Glee club members are all losers. She associates with you, so therefore, she's a loser too. And you know what losers get." The football guys says as he throws the contents of the slushy into the air towards you.

"No! Stop!" Finn says as he tries to block it, but he's too late. The cold, wet, and sticky slushy splashes all over your face, hair, clothes, and skin and you gasp so loud that Finn think it's a scream.

"Finn looks furious as the two guys who walk away with a strut. And for a moment, you think that Finn is going to run after them and punch em, but instead, Finn turns back to you with a terribly sorry look on his face.

"Y/n, I'm so sorry... I tried to stop them... I know you..." But he can't even finish his sentence before you start breaking down into a panic as you feel the blue slush all over you, CONTAMINATING you.

Finn watches in fear as you shrivel to the ground in a ball and cry as you hyperventilate and panic, unable to move.

"Here" Finn says as he takes you gently by the shoulders and walks you away from the large, watching crowd and into the empty football locker room.

"I-I-its- I..." You try to speak, not only about what just happened, but the fact that the locker room only worsens your situation due to the sporty, sweaty smell.

Finn is quick to fetch his duffel bag from his locker and rummage inside of it to hold out a hoodie and a pair of joggers.

He runs with a towel over to you and wipes off your face as you cry, barely registering the close proximity or how kind he is being to you for a moment. But after a few minutes of him wiping your face and hands clean, you start to catch your breath, hiccuping every so breaths s you sniffle.

"I know it's not the best place in the world, but there's showers around the corner if you wanna wash up a little. I have these clean clothes too if you wanna change." he says in the most gentle voice.

You sniffle as you look at his sorry expression, like he somehow caused it, and suddenly really start to feel for him. You start to tear up again and Finn sees it.

"N-No I didn't mean to make you cry again, im so sorry." Finn says as he stands up straight and puts his hands on his eyes.

"No Finn, you're just so sweet." You say.

"Thank you"

You then decide to take a quick shower while Finn waits right outside the locker room door, making sure that no one comes in. After about 20 minutes of scrubbing and washing, you finally come walking out slowly. Finn turns around to see you, 5'2, with damp hair, all while wearing HIS hoodie and HIS joggers which, mind you, swallow you whole. He smiles.

"How do you feel?" He asks

"better, thank you." You say with a quiet and scratchy voice from all the crying and hyperventilating.

Finn smiles back

"Do you still feel good enough for Glee club or do you want to try another day?" He asks, not wanting to pressure you after such a traumatic thing.

You feel some sort of pull to Finn, almost as if you want to be near him always.

"Only if you sit beside me, Finn" You say softly with a smile.

Time went on and Glee club was the thing that really helped you feel more normal, more accepted. And as promised, Finn sat by you each and every time. Almost everyone in the club, including Mr. Schue, were convinced that you and Finn were dating but the both of you denied it until the night of regionals. Before the show, behind the curtain, you two had a rather short conversation.

"Break a leg" You said to Finn

"I love you." he quickly gets out right before the music starts.

Since then, you two have been happily dating.

On nights where he spends the night, or a full weekend over, he always respects your boundaries and little rituals. Finn smiles as he takes off his outside clothes and changes into his inside clothes for you, giving you little winks here and there as he unbuttons his shirt. He helps you by wiping down the counters with lysol wipes after he cooks anything and helps you with the laundry.

But there are times when it gets so bad that Finn tries to help you refrain from doing your cleanings.

Often times, he sees how chapped your hands are from all the hand washing and hand sanitizer so he sits you down and rubs lotion on your hands, whispering softly how you have to take care of them. or he will challenge you to only wash your hands for a minute as he stands next to you. He praises you when you do well.

Mr. Schue really likes you and Finn because he sees himself and Miss Pillsbury in you two. he can tell that you two are going to last based off how you treat each other. And that's the main reason why you two commonly get to sing all the ballads. After performance nights, Finn and you have sleepovers where you clean the trophy while watching a movie together, it's really sweet.

Overall, the way they handle disagreements

They can get very passionate and be quite stubborn about things they feel their right about. But there's still an energy of holding back, not completely going off or being too direct. Almost like they know that keeping the peace is vital even when they are angry with each other. I heard "I still have to see them in the morning." They keep things respectful but they still argue their points to the fullest.

I get a vibe that members apologize a lot after fights. Even if a member was in the right, they still apologize and hug it out after the fight settles.

I feel like most arguments are about teaching/letting another member know what one is and not okay with. Boundary setting

He's quite assertive and direct when he argues. Not one to give up easily even when others don't understand what he's mad about, he still says how he feels. He's very stern as well, it would be quite hard to ignore him or purposely play stupid. He's like "nah, your wrong about xyz. Don't do that again".

He keeps a cool, calm, and collected demeanor about him. Not very phased by what the other person says, just wishes to get his point across and be done with it.

Sohee

Sohee is more meek, timid and holds back from arguing even if he's in the right. He's the type to talk to other members about what he's upset about instead of directly addressing the member he has a problem with. It's like a vibe of gathering witnesses and allies so that they could stand up for him. Almost like he doesn't want to confront anybody by himself (tbh he doesn't want to confront anybody at all)

He's not very secure and firm with his points when he argues. For example, if he was to confront someone and they gave any kind of push back, he would just drop it or play if off like "oh maybe I misunderstood the situation."

Sungchan

He's not confrontational as well. Likes to always appear as peaceful and happy (probably doesn't like the feeling of being angry, so he kind of avoids that emotion).

He's another one that would go talk to others about his problem instead of addressing the person he has a problem with. But he may only talk about what the other person did that was wrong, never tell what wrong he may have did.

I feel like he's the type to have a problem setting up boundaries. Doesn't stand up for himself either. For example, let's say a member would always make a mess of the kitchen every time they made food. Instead of Sungchan telling them to clean up after themselves, he would clean the mess up himself. And maybe say a few passive-aggressive comments

Anton

Does not argue in a healthy way. He can become VERY disrespectful when he's upset. He's the type to roast and make fun of the person he has a disagreement with. It could just be that most of the arguments/fights he's been in were with people that were equally as disrespectful and aggressive. But I do see that he still has a problem with calmly arguing his points without spewing insults and malicious comments

He's one of those ppl that would talk about how much money he has and how he is of a greater status when he argues. "Your not even on my level level" "your a brokie, a straight bum". Not gonna lie, his roasts can be pretty funny if your not at the receiving end of it.

Overall, he can become quite egotistical when he argues.

Shotaro

He's the definition of "the calm before the storm" or "fuck around and find out". He initially keeps a calm disposition when he's confronting/arguing with someone. But thats as long as the other person has that same energy, as soon the other person wants to get loud and rowdy that's when he will give that same energy back. And he's not one to be messed with

He does still have a mature and peacekeeping way about him (this side of him is especially reserved for when he argues with ppl he cares about). But there is another side of him that can be very petty, vengeful and antagonistic. All depends on how you come at him plus the scale of how much he gives af about you

Wonbin

I heard "he's not" when I asked how does he argue and handle disagreements. I found it strange that the message was "he's not" and not "he doesn't". It makes me think that no matter how much of disagreement someone has with him , he won't engage in arguing, there's literally no point in confronting him. It reminds me of a King during ancient times that would have lords and townsfolk come to him with their problems, as the King he would listen and say his piece. That's the end. There's no argument. You visited the King, said what you needed, he gives a comment or two, and then your dismissed. (Lol his energy is hilarious, if only I could be this regal when I argue).

He does listen and hear ppl out. But I don't feel like he says much. Even with his lack of engagement, he likely still is someone others don't stay mad at for long. Probably bc he himself isn't mad at the other person so even if they hold a grudge against him he would act like everything is fine (bc technically everything would be fine on his end). The type to invite them to hang out and chill minutes after an "argument".

keep promises that u make to urself : just like how if u know someone who continuously makes promises to do something, yet they never act upon it, you won't trust that person or believe them if they promise u something else. this is also the same with urself. ur new years resolutions? ur goals that you've had for a while but never ever did? all those promises that you've made to yourself and the ones that you haven't followed up on will lessen trust with urself. do what u say you'll do. "stand on business" and if u know that u won't be able to deliver or do what u say you would, dont say it. dont tell urself promises that u won't be able to keep. once u start keeping ur own promises, you'll start to build trust within urself.

hold yourself accountable : just a quick disclaimer but when i say holding urself accountable i do NOT mean punishing urself!! when u find urself falling into old and fruitless patterns you need to hold urself accountable and make sure that u straighten up. the thing about our relationship with self is that a relationship needs BOUNDARIES. you need to set boundaries with urself. what will u or what will u not do? ur non-negotiables?

and when u find urself crossing boundaries within yourself take the BIGGEST step back. the key to forming a healthy relationship with urself is to balance being strict and gentle with urself. strict in the sense that ur the only one that can get u to where u wanna be, and gentle in the sense that ur best won't look the same every single day and u should also listen to urself and what u want, without having to compromise on ur boundaries. kind of finding that middle line is important, bcuz when we're too lenient with ourselves, we get too comfortable and that leads me into my next point...

where growth begins : u cannot expect to grow if ur too comfortable and honestly, this is why most people stay stagnant. its bcuz being comfortable FEELS GOOD. but growth will almost never happen when ur comfortable, on the contrary growth can only happen outside of ur comfort zone. if u want better things for urself, ur simply gonna have to DO BETTER.

the importance of ur self concept : even if ur not familiar with or u dont practice conscious manifesting/law of assumption, i think that working on ur self concept can still be such a fruitful thing to do. i say this because self concept is the way that u view urself in relation to ur desires/goals. its seeing urself as worthy and powerful, and truly grasping ur potential to do great things. a way to start with ur self concept is with affirmations! start telling urself about urself in a positive connotation. you're unstoppable <3

putting it into practice : start small, challenge urself a little bit every day. do one hard thing a day, doing so will build ur confidence bcuz u won't be so daunted by ur big goals when you've already done so many hard things. when u see something challenging instead of thinking "oh i can't do this" you'll have confidence in urself and what u are capable of. oftentimes when we have goals, we kick ourselves out of rooms before we've even tried to get in them bcuz we think "im not good enough" or "im not worthy" which isnt true at ALL. dont shoot urself in the foot. thats self sabotage. and thats not hot.

motivating urself : if u remind urself of your "why" then you'll have reason to stay consistent and truly try. i recommend asking urself the tougher questions, like "what do i want out of my life?" or "am i truly happy and if not what can i do to get there?" once you've decided what u want out of life make a VISION BOARD and actively pursue your dreams. u can't actively pursue something if u dont know what it is. so i advise u to remind urself whenever u feel that u need it of your "why", your driving cause. having that motivation, and actively pursuing and keeping the promises that u make to urself -> will then build ur confidence in yourself to the point where your betting on urself bcuz u know that no matter what cards you are dealt, you'll prosper.

Call me insane, it’s not the first time but doesn’t it feel like pretty much with with the large aspects of their lives, that Chim, Hen, Captain (cap)Bobby Nash and Athena have their lives all together: fulfilling friendships, stable homes and careers.

Yes, I know Athena is as we speak trying to land a plane with no experience and a very smart young man by her side. But she’s in a happy and stable marriage. Her kids are safe and also happy. She’s on good terms with her ex. Side note Disney handled the actor who played Angela Bassett’s ex health concerns like a bunch of idiots.

Anyway, Nash is fighting but in control of his demons and is happy with Athena.

Hen and Karen are constantly working on their marriage and being good humans.

Chim has made peace with his family and self.

Maddie has literally fought for her life countless times but is in a good place with Chim.

The only two people I can think of who are struggling in the relationship department are Eddie. (I just don’t mean with Chris). And yes also Buck. Sure he has Tommy but I don’t believe he is end game. I truly don’t.

Everything leading up to a permanent relationship for them is one another. It would not have solidified for me if Tommy wasn’t introduced.

Hear me out again please, I don’t think Buck at all was trying to get Tommy’s attention. He was hurt because he thought he was losing Eddie. Buck has engraved himself in every aspect of Eddie’s life. He’s made himself a parent figure for Chris. Someone Eddie can speak with. They make heart eyes at one another all of the time. Besides Maddie, Eddie and Chris are the most important people in Buck’s life. And if Buck didn’t realize he also liked men with (Tommy), he may not realize he’s in love with Eddie.

There has been so much hinting in the past seven seasons; the elf at Christmas display telling Buck he and Eddie are cute together.

How Eddie was introduced, the entire team said he was very attractive. They teased Buck about it.

How he is relentlessly there for Chris and Eddie. He rightfully and basically had a melt down when he thought poor Chris may have drowned.

How upset Eddie was when Buck tried to sue the LAFD and he couldn’t speak to Buck.

Maddie saying Buck had a crush on Eddie.

When Buck met the gay couple in season 2 saying that’s love. Gosh even seeing Hen and Karen and realizing romantic life can look differently for everyone. He’s been on a journey of finding himself, since his entire life he’s felt not enough.

How Buck confided in Chimney that he was worried about Eddie being back with Chris’s mom.

And Eddie with the relationship with his own father and what that looks like in a Latin household. How Eddie is there daily for Chris. How Eddie’s father was on the road because he thought that’s what a father should be.

I just have to believe some part of Chris living with his grandparents and Eddie struggling with that is he realizing how young he and Shannon were and he had no other opportunities. And they just clung to one another. Also why did he eventually break up with those women? Because one used to be a nun? Oh come on.

Buck thinking Maddie thought Eddie was the cute one when they were moving her to her new apartment. No, Buck you think Eddie is cute!!

When Buck says he’s going to cry at the soldier reuniting with his daughter. And then he does. Buck is a modern man.. Heart on his sleeve and yet tough. And just a lot more. I think Eddie is going to realize he wants to be with someone like him. I think Eddie is going to realise he wants Buck.

The past seven seasons Buck and Eddie have not only developed a beautiful friendship but also a family. There is so much care and trust there. When one or the other got injured, how the other would react. That’s just not a heterosexual friendship. Not even a healthy one. Thats them falling in love because they have a great friendship. A great base. A wonderful partnership. Perhaps they’re scared that sex will complicate things, because they care so much for one another.

I came across a post with music that you associate with something or someone, and I also had some associations when listening to some of it. Or to be more precise, when I listen to this, I imagine how complicated the relationship between Color and Killer/Delta is.

Do you think that their relationship is like that, or are there other views on this? (and I will add that I like both ships, and sometimes I even consider the possibility that this could even be a triple)

And yeah I do think the dynamics between Color, Killer, and Delta could potentially be rather complicated; regardless of romance or not. In fact it works just as well with friendship.

Color’s Delta’s first and closest friend, and Color’s Killer’s first real, genuine friend.

I’d imagine that a lot of the issues is mostly because of Killer. As said before, its not like he has much grasp on healthy or equal relationships of any kind; and with every other “friendship” he’s had most recently—Chara, possibly Nightmare—they were always possessive over him.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if Killer is a little possessive and territorial over Color, too. Whereas Stage 1 may experience things like emotional jealousy, insecurity, feeling undeserving of it—fears of being abandoned.

Stage 2 would possibly view it more as losing a very valuable resource, someone he not only views as very important to his stability and happiness and happy ending, but someone he’s actually grown to want around.

As said I mentioned before, Color is one of his “red lines.” Someone who knows a lot about him, someone he’s trusted with a lot about himself, eventually. And even if he’s growing to trust Color, that doesn’t mean he trusts Delta.

He notices how close Delta and Color are, and he thinks of all the ways that can be used to hurt Color, which in turn, hurts him. If Stage 2 is ever jealous or afraid of being left behind, or that Color likes Delta more or would choose Delta, I doubt he’d ever willingly acknowledge that. Let alone say it.

Killer wants control. He sees so many things he can’t control about Delta and his relationship with Color, they’re so obviously close, and he doesn’t like it. It doesn’t feel safe.

If Color is the hope that brought light into his world, then I’m sure the concept of sharing that with someone he doesn’t know—someone who has made it obvious that he doesn’t like Killer and would prefer if Color wasn’t around him—feels less like sharing, and more like Delta is trying to take from him. Like Delta is tryna hurt him specifically, or control him, or punish him—by taking or stealing who makes him happy.

Killer doesn’t often think he deserves to be happy, and for awhile im sure he thought it wasnt possible. But now that he knows it is possible, he still doesn’t think he deserves it, and he doesn’t think anyone else besides Color would probably think he does. He doesn’t really offer people much trust, does he.

Delta already doesn’t like him, and he’s close with Color. But he doesn’t need Delta to like him, he just needs Color to like him (to like him so much he stays), and he needs Delta to know how much Color likes him.

But you know, instead of voicing all these concerns and needs like a well adjusted person, he will instead gaslight, torment, fuck with, and manipulate. (Someone once said Killer is like a cat because he plays with his prey. Which is basically what he’s doing here lmao.)

He will create little scenarios that make Delta feel unsure and frustrated, he will do and say things to subtly make Delta feel left out and insecure—and he will do it all so casually that Delta starts wondering if he’s actually the one causing the problem here.

He likes having control over this. He likes that he can do or say something to have Color’s attention and focus on him, he likes that Color is so kind, sweet, attentive, despite still knowing not to trust him completely when he’s like this.

He likes that Color is smart like that. He likes laying down these little games and tests of loyalty and seeing how much Color cares about him. He probably likes pushing boundaries and buttons just see not only how much Color will tolerate from him, but exactly how much he cares despite it all.

But Color also cares for his friends, and he also understands Killer, and so he will eventually realize what’s happening—and he will realize that there’s more reasons going on for this behavior than only territorial and control reasons. And he will seek to try and talk to Killer about it—and lay down some firm boundaries with Killer.

Ultimately I think things will ease up a little when Color gets Killer to understand what’s going on, what he needs from Color, and gather the courage to learn how to ask for it.

It’s not like Color’s going to have any issues with showering Killer with any validation, reassurance, praise or comforts he needs but feels either too weak and vulnerable (Stage 2) or ashamed and guilty (Stage 1) to ask for—let alone the hard work of teaching killer that he can ask for something and expect to have it given to him happily with no other strings attached for no other reasons than Color loves and cares about him. Because its not something to be ashamed of needing, and it doesn’t make one weak to need.

Lead to a disaster! Well, not really. You're more of a disaster. Not as much as tweek tho. The fact that you're in love with both of them and that they're already a healthy and cute couple AND you don't know if whether they were an open relationship or not makes you overthink and the whole situation is overall overwhelming! Does that mean you'll stop? No! Will it be hard for you? Yes!

Since they're both ussually seen together you would be extra flushed and that certainly didn't help.

Even if they're both already dating you still had a bit of hope blooming inside of you, you were really in love with both of them and you're rather eager to date them. That would lead to you doing small helpful things to them to full on giving them a high-quality gift. On rare occasions you'd have to invite your friends to help.

Your very first step on getting closer to them is talking to them! You knew you shouldn't be direct and straightforward with it but how else are you supposed to get closer to someone?

At the early stages of your new relationship Tweek seems to be more cautious while Craig was... Craig. But later on tweek seems more honest and a little more laid-back around you but he's still the normal tweek and Craig let's out more of his emotions with you.

Now that you were all together, you also needed to pamper tweek alongside with Craig. You gotta admit it was pretty tiring but you actually loved it.

While you give attention to both men, tweek is aware you were even a little stressed due to him being paranoid all the time do he would give you, Craig or both of you something that would help you calming.

Sometimes the item in question is something very random, mostly rocks since it's common. You would even join tweek into the rock giving ceremony

Ever since you became apart of the relationship you became aware of some things they've kept secret. This would be a weird thing to say but you've been married 20 times now. one piece of anti-trans rhetoric that pops up now and again is the "your skeleton is your agab" thing, which for some reason turns into "archeologists will know your agab" (which is a very weird scenario that I don't like to think about for other reasons. Like why my grave specifically? What do they find? Was I helpful to their research? Why does the thought of someone touching my skeleton send shivers up my spine?)

anywho, I'm learning about archaeology atm and thought I'd share some cool archaeological info about actual grave identification!

Number one biggest point of note for this argument that "oh but archaeologists will know" is that if an archaeologist is handeling your bones someone has done something very wrong. A forensic anthropologist is who you're looking for! These are going to be the people trained in all the science/medical stuff and are dealing with humans. Cause there's a big difference between idenifying a sword, and idenitying a person. Two different sects of knowledge that work together, sometimes its the same person, but most times the body will be "handed off" so to speak to the forensic anthropologist while archaeologists work on the physical grave site. this leads to my next grief with the retoric; identifying gender when it comes to graves is mainly guesswork, very educated and very well researched guesswork, but guesswork non the less. When archaeologists are looking to identify the gender, you're looking at the grave itself and its contents (plus historical records and research and yada yada yada). If we know "hey men were typically burried in suits, with watches, dress shoes, and had masculin names" and the grave that's found matches all of the above, then yeah it'll probably be marked as a male skeleton.

you can say "oh but what about height charts and science!?!? The hormones in your body! They'll know!!!" But listen, humans show very very little sexual dymorphism, and humans come in all sizes. It is easy to tell a deer skull's gender because males have rivets where the antlers grow and fall off, where females do not. It is much much harder to tell the difference between a male and female pelvis even though female pelvises (pelvi?) are typically bigger (unless you're trained for body id and have many different factors to aid you). Theres just not enough information to go off of for identification! Humans change in size, yes depending on sex, but also on a million other characteristics like diet, medical history, ethnicity, medication, exercise, so if out of a hundred men, one end up 5'4 with wide hips while the others are 5'10, well them something probably went different with the growth of the 5'4 guy!!! Plus, the standard mesurments used to determin the stature of a person are based on white europeans from historically healthy families, meaning that the measurements are only accurate if you're looking at the body of a white european from a historically healthy family, but that's a side thing that doesn't matter if you have a (mostly) complete skeleton. "But what about the hormones!!!" I hear people in the back screaming. And I have two little things to note for that. 1. Research is really expensive and if you want to justify spending money on identifying the sex of a body you'd better have a really solid research base behind it and 2. Theres so many better things you could learn through bone analysis taht isnt "this person was trans" (unless thats your research topic you do you boo). What does that have to do with hormones you ask? Well bones change with time and as you change, right? So if you take hormes, your skeleton will reflect that. Now its not going to like change your pelvic shape or something, but it will show chages.

Petro and Alux are basically Anna and Hanz in Frozen, gaslighting and manipulation exist but dynamic and trust are important. There is communication towards the two that leads into something in the plot.

For alux its built off genuine love and care for Petro, knowing he's the only REAL connection in his life. And for Petro it adds much more conflict to his character if you add like any romance to him. like, loving the person your meant to kill and killing them anyways is a really interesting narrative plot idea. Its also really funny tbh but oh well.

Narratively it adds more to their characters as long as you dont romantize it and treat it like it'd be healthy especially at this point in the story.

This is literally doomed Yaoi (it's funny I wanna say that) and it works so well because of how they were narratively written this way towards each other. This cooked better than some enemy wanting to, excuse my language, have freaky SHIZ going on with the Hero 💀

Okay then, let me try to pull some things out with what little I know about them.

Zilch Alexander (real)

Like a sick animal, he prefers to be alone if he’s not feeling well to not trouble anyone else

He tends to brush the fur of his clothes as a distraction from the ickiness that he feels

He loves snuggling with his animal friends who usually don’t leave his side if he feels poorly. Especially his dogs.

He wears some of his furry scarves as part of his sickly disheveled appearance.

The ears on his hat get droopy if he feels ill.

If he has a caretaker he tends to behave like an animal with them if he’s delirious from fever. Not in a weird way, but he becomes very affectionate and likes nuzzling his face into soft places and into other people if he uses them as a pillow.

If he’s hot sometimes he sticks his tongue out when panting. (Like a dog lol)

He wears multiple furry jackets if he’s cold (though sadly this just makes his fever worse…)

If he has a cold, he has very peculiar sneezes. He doesn’t say anything out-loud, rather his sneezes are similar to a animal’s and it’s very fitful. (sadly this causes snot to go everywhere unless he covers his nose with his sleeve or a tissue)

Melami Goldmine

She’s actually very good at taking care of herself.

Even while ill she still wants to look her best. She cannot afford to look so poorly. So she wears her best outfit even if she’s not well.

Sadly this backfires when she sneezes or coughs, causing the outfit to get dirty with unwanted bodily fluids. How revolting.

So to remedy this issue, she gets the prettiest and silkiest set of nightwear she can wear at times like these.

She makes sure she has her favorite teas and coffee brands if she ever has a sore throat.

She has quality bath salts if she wants to relax and help her nose feel unstuffed.

If she has a caretaker she acts like a bit of a spoiled diva. Over exagerating her condition on purpose so her caretaker pays more attention to her. (shes needy and spoiled)

Making impossible requests and being super picky with how her meals are arranged.

(Not a sick headcanon, but I think Melami makes a very ideal caretaker. Especially when Yuma didn’t feel well. She made sure to try to help him, she seemed almost motherly. I honestly wish that Yuma accepted her help and company back to the infirmary. Maybe then she might have survived…)

Pucci Lavmin

Whenever Pucci feels or gets sick, she needs it to be QUIET.

Her ears get even more sensitive to sound if shes not healthy, especially she has a migraine or headache.

Her forte is rendered useless

She sleeps with multiple colorful teddy bears in her bed and tends to snuggle with them. (The pink one is still her favorite.)

She is very prone to ear infections. And the ear infections tend to make her get feverish too.

Shes in a BAD mood if shes ill, so she prefers to not be bothered by anyone else.

But the poor thing can’t get up to help herself due to the immense dizziness and loud ringing in her head, so she does need someone to try to assist her. As much as she may not like or prefer it.

She often cries if her fever gets too high and is super emotional when shes delirious. (A bit of a crybaby)

If shes not feeling too bad, she enjoys having soft piano or very soft classical music playing in the room while she rests. It soothes her spirit.

Aphex Logan

Another one thats usually fairly good at looking after himself.

Due to his rough time growing up in the slums after losing his family, he had to adept to surviving, even tending to himself if he got sick or hurt

Though there are times where it gets very bad, and he can’t handle it alone.

Anyone caring for him may be hard since he doesn’t trust anybody. He needs to truly be at his lowest before he accepts help.

He’s prone mostly to breathing or coughing issues due to the slums having polluted or dirty air.

If he coughs, it’s very NASTY AND SERIOUS. He may even vomit if he coughs too much.

His lungs are very delicate due to growing ip in a filthy enviornment

He tends to have fever dreams of his departed family, causing him to cry in his sleep.

And usually sees whoever cares for him as one of his parents (depending on the caretaker’s gender) in his feverish haze.

Zange Eraser

Typical old man sickness lol

He has a nasty rough and crusty cough that can be heard from a mile away.

If the sickness isn’t too bad he tries to continue his day simply wearing a mask on his face to be propper

But if it’s bad, he stays properly bedridden

In this state his forte can sometimes go haywire

And he unintentionally records things he sees in his fever dreams and he awakens with various odd imagery on his phone.

So he usually doesn’t do any detective work if he feels poorly for this reason.

He makes a lot of bathroom trips in between resting. (at times almost falling over or using the wall as support)

He enjoys watching old BW adventure movies if he’s rendered immobile in bed or on whatever sofa that he rests on.

They usually knock him out not long after.

I could possibly have stomached James being back and forgiven apparently, if it wasn't for the casually dropped in statutory rape, what on earth?? The writers were probably trucking along with their "everyone deserves forgiveness" train, meanwhile anyone with a jot of common sense had air raid sirens screaming "DO NOT LET THAT MAN NEAR JAMIE". I'd have been angry with the forgiveness side anyway (we see no signs that James is trying to be a better person or even that hes not going to try and beat the shit out of his son again, for all we know thats a court mandated rehab), but I could have sort of understood it. Adding in that fun little fact made James go from terrible horrific abuser to just completely unforgiveable.

honestly i completely agree with you. I know this is a very divisive arc and there were people who genuinely loved where they took it because it resonated with them in some way, especially for some people who have been through similar experiences and appreciated the recognition that someone like James could successfully change. I really try to accept and understand fans who have that opinion and I want to be very clear that I both recognize addiction is a disease and think there is nothing inherently wrong with wanting to or actually forgiving your abuser. Each situation is different! People suffering from addiction can absolutely recover! Individuals need to do what is right for them in their real actual lives, etc.

That said, the parts I loathe about the Jamie & James arc, from my own personal opinion, are:

any sort of relationship Jamie and James may have moving forward post-canon is inherently a complex one, but the writers did not address the conclusion of the arc complexly. At all. Instead it was "oh everything conveniently worked out and here they are happy and together" wrapped up in a 10 second flash-forward which is just...no.

there is absolutely no evidence that James' violence stems directly from his addiction. there is nothing to say a sober James isn't every bit as abusive as a drunken James. There is no indication that Jamie isn't putting himself back into a situation that is downright unsafe, or that he isn't at risk of coming into harm and being deeply hurt all over again. there is nothing to say James hasn't tried rehab before, and relapsed.

James never apologizes or owns up to his actions onscreen.

Jamie's decision to forgive his dad comes at a time when he's in a very vulnerable place mentally, having just come off a canonical depressive episode. He consults no one about forgiving his father apart from Ted, who is quite literally the worst person on the show he could have consulted (no offense, Ted, it's just that the man is incapable of being objective when it comes to Jamie and the father&son of it all). The decision isn't being made in a healthy state of mind and Jamie hasn't rallied a support group around him before taking the leap. From what we see on screen, he seemingly doesn't tell anyone that he's going to visit his dad in rehab.

there's a way that all of this can make sense. I can make sense of why Ted, with his own heaping helping of daddy issues, would give Jamie the advice he does. I can see why Jamie (again, in a vulnerable place) would take it! why he decides the right thing to do is to reach out to his dad! I can see him going to visit. I can imagine that visit going well or going poorly, can see James' stint in rehab being mandated, or also him checking himself it. But at the end of the day, those scenarios are all imagined! none of that nuanced context is provided on the show. Rather, the presentation and messaging are hasty and in my person opinion, flat-out dangerous. They lead the casual viewer to read Ted's advice as good (it categorically isn't), and Jamie as Doing the Right and Responsible Thing, when it's a hell of a lot more complicated that that.

it is also weird and complicated to have Jamie take Ted's advice over his mum's, who in the same episode, mind you, told him James was never ever going to change. again, we can jump through hoops to make sense of it, but we shouldn't have to.

there's absolutely a pattern of abuse being weirdly minimized on ted lasso/victims forgiving their abusers and i think that's gross. you can't claim to be a comedy show that dares to tackle real, tough issues in one breath and then expect us to laugh off abuse (Jane/Beard) in the next. Sometimes it's like they change what kind of show they want to be scene by scene, lol.

as you point out, in my opinion it is completely batshit on the writer's part to have introduced "btw Jamie's dad, who we've previously established beats him and verbally abuses him, ALSO proxy raped him when he was 14!" in the same season in which you plan to have Jamie forgive said father (with next to no buildup or context) just a few episodes later. Like, yes, let's add even deeper layers to Jamie's tragic backstory before we wash it away in feel-good reunion tosh! just, ew. what on earth were they thinking.

So all in all, I think the arc could have been successful if the writers had known where they were going with it from the beginning of the season and given it the kind of care that sort of storyline demands. However they didn't do that, and the end message is incredibly harmful as a result.

I also liked that Huai'en did not go back to see his foster father, he didn't give him the fucking satisfaction. As it should be.
