She had not seen him in a very long time and now he dared to storm into her house, into her room- and thats when she rememberd why she wanted Roman to stay away from her. Kyra’s breath caught in her throat, fear mixing with the embers of defiance that had begun to spark just moments before. Her father glared at Roman, hostility radiating from his very presence. “What do you think you’re doing, Kyra?” he demanded in a italian accent, his tone dripping with disdain.

“I could ask you the same thing! What the hell are you doing here?" she blurted out, desperation lacing her words. “I haven’t seen you in forever, and you just waltz in here as if you own the place! You don’t get to dictate my life like this!”

Her father’s world— was a world filled with danger, power plays, and expectations she had long tried to escape. "Enough!" he stopped her nonsense. "I will give you two minutes. Meet me in the backyard." he didnt wait for her to answer, he just walked out, leaving the two of them in the room.

further than he should. he'd already passed that barrier, walking in her front door, probably. roman's body felt electric, every nerve on edge, like she was a wildfire && he was scorched by her heat. usually his mouth was a problem, running when it should stay closed, quick to the snark && with a smirk to match. tonight, words failed the dealer, his body speaking for where his tongue wouldn't. hand to her waist as she stepped in, her body pulled flush into his own so he could let his breath linger on her lips.

in the back of his mind, he wondered - was this her whole plan, all along? when she'd beckoned him down the dark hall, hips swaying && eyes begging, had she known he'd play right into the game, melt like putty into the palm of his hand? roman figured she probably did, nose brushing against hers as a shiver took over his spine, racing up && sends, lightning sparkling when she took his hand. he'd known too, the moment he'd slid the pills into her private little bag.

" you have no fuckin' clue how wild i can be. you've not gotten to see that side of me... not really... " roman warned her, a smile dawning onto his features, finally, like he'd made the decision at last. the choice to stop fighting the magnetic pull, the desire that clawed through his bones, send heat pounding through his blood through every vein. this wasn't about some fuck, some conquest, getting a hot chick on her back in her own bed... roman could've done that with half the girls on the other side of the door, half of her own friends.

this was more about infatuation, borderline obsession. kyra had been his every fucking thought, every picture in his mind when he tried to find relief on dating apps && hookups. now she was against his body, her curves explored with the subtle trace of his free hand up along her side, curling over her shoulder && down her bare arm... and finally, roman made the connection that he'd come so close to just doing himself a dozen times before. he kissed her back like her lips were more essential than air. fingers tucked into her belt loop, keeping his grip strong as he backed them up, not once breaking the kiss as he let it deepen past the barrier of lips. careful, slow, gentle steps - waiting for her legs to hit the bed, so they'd tumble back, him on top && still drinking her in.

Oral tradition of storytelling predates written ones by millennias, and honestly, which one you like is just a personal preference.

The actual difference is

when listening, you have no idea how to write characters’ names

when reading, you have no idea how to pronounce characters’ names
