Hey everyone,

I just want to remind all of you, that your trauma was enough. Trauma effects everyone differently, and everyone is affected by different things. You have a CDD, and that means your trauma was enough. What you went through was truly awful, and you never deserved it, plain and simply ❤️‍🩹

Why is it that simply living with this disorder and not hiding it is seen as glorifying it/“making it your whole identity”. This disorder affects nearly every aspect of my life. It changes how I interact with nearly every situation I encounter. Online, friendships, work, family, romantic relationships, strangers — everything.

And it’s like because I have this disorder, I have to take every part of my life completely seriously. Why is talking about the good parts of my life so wrong ? Talking about a nice interaction between alters, decorating social media platforms with cute little emojis, dressing up in fun and expressive ways, are all somehow wrong because I have this disorder.

pwCDDs aren’t all suffering 24/7. Yes, this disorder causes immense problems and can negatively impact every single facet of our lives (and for most of us, it does). But people with CDDs have good days too. We should be celebrating these good days, the wins we have which may seem small to those who don’t suffer from this disorder, but are huge to us. Not tearing each other down for “glorifying” our disorder by simply sharing our positive experiences.

Seeing someone else’s positivity doesn’t invalidate your suffering, and doesn’t mean that person isn’t suffering too. Let us be happy when we can be.
