-alternatively instead of jesse worrying abt petra running off in s1, she gets hella mad and they immediately argue in ep3. þis sours þeir trust heavily and petra hides the withersickness, leading jesse to mostly just talk with the group about it. and then petra never reveals it. and then petra starts dying and then jesse regrets ever being mad at her wife and they only get a resolution after petra is like mostly dead. (the lack of mental/emotional support can worsen someones' physical state so thats why this makes sense!). so petra becomes mostly out of play for ep4 and ep5 and jesse has a constant reminder of breaking her and petra's trust which also weighs down on jesse making it hard to focus on fighting and whatnot :D and also petra insists on coming everywhere because she "wants to get active as soon as she's better" (she is actually terrified of dying alone and particularly without jesse) (every death screen/shot has petra in anguish in the background to hint at this) . also when petra is at her worst from þe withersickness she spills how she felt etc to jesse and how shes scared bc "oh no what do i have to live for" and after she's healed shes like "haha umm whatever i said thats totally just the withersickness getting to me" and its super healing to watch them bond ,,, i love þem :3

-for someþing þat doesnt make þem mad but instead in absolute depression,! jesse dies to the purple old man's games (i forgot his name again ). and so for a while, petra and jesse toil away in the mines. for a long time. until em or smth helps them out. but during þis long long time , it just gets uber depressing. and they try to rely on eachother but its just so bleak- its not even worþ it anymore. and jesse already knows tim is fake. so whats the point? -- this question ends up sparking some motivation in lukas and they escape with lukas leading the way out of misery. and then after they escape the games n stuff jesse feels terrible she couldnt do what lukas did and help them and petras like omg i feel the same way and they hold eachoþer up wiþ support wiþ a lack of support for þe self and its just so. sad. but petra being petra she immediately wants to hide it and jesses like can we pls chill out :( and þey end up hanging out togeþer and heal wiþ eachoþer !! Pen Rants About Fantasy BNHA Fics For Too Long

Aight people, I'm sharing the same thoughts on here I did on twitter but with more to add because twitter won't let me rant long like I can on here.

its "pen talks at length about fantasy au's and fanon around said established au's" so I'm a huge nerd for fantasy au's if the original story isn't fantasy and I'm even MORE a nerd for it if one of those characters becomes a shapeshifter or something. With BNHA it already has a kind of canon au where horikoshi literally made a fantasy au ending sequence and I remember all the hype for it back when it came out and that love for it resurfaced recently because... again... I'm a nerd for it.

But one thing i've noticed fantasy fics do often is they kinda just... don't do the leg work with what it means to make a whole new world with magic and lore. they just assume the reader will read "oh they're a fae" or "oh they're a dragon" and get it which... pls dont do. There's a lot of fun that can be had figuring out legistics of how magic and creatures look and work and I get it if that isnt your cup of tea but if you have a fantasy world... you gotta usually do some extra work with it.

So fanon has this thing with bnha where whenever they write certain characters, they kinda automatically are always the same across the board in various fics. which is fine, I appreciate consistent headcanons, but when it comes to PORTRAYING those headcanons... I get bored. There are only 2 FICS (if you wanna know which I can toss them your way) that I have read for fantasy au which both actually do leg work for the world and put thought into how these characters work and out of the literal thousands (over half just being plain boring smut because they are just weird and horny) it bums me out.

One thing that seriously gets stunted is Bakugou as a barbarian which... what would that mean in a fantasy world? not many fics go into that but they def go into it more frequently than some of the other concepts. I just think there's more that can be messed with there. Like, what kind of culture did he grow up in? how did he meet Deku? did they still grow up with each other and if they did how? are they from the same villiage? Horikoshi's art makes it seem like they were born in different cultures, so how would they have met? would their interactions still be the same if they didn't grow up together? there are a LOT of questions to be asked with interactions I think

It's even WORSE with kirishima tho. He is a dragon in some fics, part dragon in others, but they hardly ever go into the logistics of what that means for him. They never touch on his culture or how people treat him or ANY ANGST and as an angst lover with my favs it suuuuucks. Kiri in general has hardly any well-written long-form angst and I'm starved for that kinda content. Also, when people write dragon Kiri they always, ALWAYS introduce him to Bakugou by him somehow being captured (I wrote him that way too but its mainly for a specific situation to happen and a scene that's been stuck in my head for ages now so I'm calling myself out) but then, they do that to him and expect him to... what be fine afterwards? Tangent but not many people write good angst for my boy and I'm DEPRIVED.

but anyway, I think there's more that can be done with some of these concepts. like if Kiri is a dragon, would he still breathe fire? If so, how would he use it? if not, why/how does he work? Can he shapeshift willingly or is he forced to or does he need outside assistance like a ritual or something? is his hardening just his scales, in which case if he's in dragon form and has his hardening magic is that just a special ability he can do to make his scales harder? there's a lot about shapeshifting that can be messed with as well! (both those fics i mentioned before have major consequences if Kiri doesn't shapeshift frequently and I love it).

In general, I feel like people see the au with these characters and just don't think of the nuances and it bugs me. And then the fandom also has fanon about it and some of the tropes are tired... so I started thinking about scenes around fantasy au and ye a lot of what I'm deciding to do with it isn't really... how I normally do it. like there's thought into what I'm imagining because it's me we're talking about but world-building I'm leaving a bit up in the air and to be interpreted however.

Ok so this ask is old and when I first got it I was like “dang I don’t really have a lot to talk about, what should I talk about I could those revalink headcanons the Kip Cut that turned into a working fic uhh hmm maybe I’ll just make something new to talk about real quick” and then I did and now there is a 12+ chapter Revalink fic in my drafts and I’m gonna talk about that now, whoopsie doopsie [click "j" to skip]

aHEM, OK so allow me to break out the primary school white board because yeah, I have a lot of thoughts and the oxford comma has not yet made it’s home into my brain. oh and spoilers for paraphrase. for both all of Chapter one and future events in later chapters, but it’s really nothing you couldn’t surmise from the AO3 tags

so I really wanted to tell the story of Revali and Link learning and struggling to love again after the less-than-fortunate events of Botw, but I wanted a...how you say...fresher, approach on the subject? Like I know we always say that fanfic writers writing the same tropes and stories time and time again is good because we eat that shit up--but at the same time I had asian parenting as was told never to half ass anything ever, no matter what. So now I'm gay and extra and have depression maybe and oh would you look at that @motherhyrule has dropped a beautiful revalink prompt right into my lap

Great so now that we have, that, I shall take you on the step by step process on how to make a :sparkles: story. So step one is to spend at least five to eleven business days for your white board to dismantle your genre and themes and work them around your character arcs. Luckily I have prepared one ahead of time

s*breaks out those laser pointers that uni professors use* So let's start with defining genre. As define because I HATE you, fuck you. I want you to suffer and writhe on the ground, motherfucker. How dare you think that I would give you nothing but pure predictable fluff, fuck you and yours

is the set of expectations that your audience has when consuming a piece of media

And the great thing about fanfiction is that unlike movies or book where the genres are more vague like, "oh it's a noir mystery genre. so there's a crime, maybe a murder, and a detective and a criminal." or "oh it's a teen romance. so there's some white people and a morally questionable six-pack 18 year old love interest that will be painted as desirable for some reason" BUT with fanfiction HALF of the work out the window, because as soon as you see those #revalink #aro sidon #zelpha #revali is an idiot and #found family tags you already know what's up.

Now what's so great about genre and expectation? Well the fun thing about it is that

In Chapter 1: Holes, you already expect there to be revalink, you already expect them to be soulmates with the soulmarks and there's angst and yadayada ya. Revali and Link have to match because thatttss what this is all about, this is about them! This is about cute, little soulmarks and romantic words!

But whoooopsie doopsie [disney channel laugh track plays] they DON'T match anymore! Link's got a different mark! The number one rule of this entire genre has been broken whoooooooooooooooops. *ba dum tiss*

You might notice with a lot of my writing that I do this a lot, this whole..."oop but there's one little thing that's different." TebaSaki sick fic? Ok cool, but what if Teba burns an irreplaceable relic of the Rito champion to fight a wizzrobe first to characterize why his dumbass clicks with Saki. Mipha deciding to persue Link? Ok what if she chases after a dragon to externalize this conflict as she pierces it's flesh for a scale. Link fighting a Lynel? Ok but what if it's actually a sidlink angst fic in disguise and it's also world building on how Link deals with the bloodmoon that erases all of his efforts which is sort of similar to how his existence was erased from Hyrule 100 years ago mwaahahaha! Ok now that I say this outloud I think I just have a pattern of using fight scenes to externalize character growth. I like fight scenes...anyways.

I think another great thing about the realm of fanfiction is that with the tagging system, I can basically use a chekhov's gun sort of deal, without doing any writing. You know I'm gonna use that gun marked "soulmates" but you don't know when I'm gonna shoot it, and you SURE as hell don't know how.

And huzzah! One of the main points of conflict both drives the tension between Revali and Link, solidifies the unique genre and setting of this world, while also creating a new mystery that will carry over for the next few chapters.

Is Revali right in that Link's rebirth makes him destined for someone new now? What will Link do with the information that his soulmark has changed? Why did it change? Did Revali's change as well? How does anything fucking work right now?

And sure, you might be able to tell where things will end with them, but you sure as fuck will not know how because I HATE you. Fuck you. I want you to suffer and writhe on the ground, motherfucker. How dare you think that I would give you nothing but pure predictable fluff. I am not your goddamn fairy godmother, I will do as I fucking please. Oh! But you might have noticed on my little planning whiteboard thing that there was a little T-Chart! For Revali and Link! That's because the next important thing besides plot (and in a lot of cases, including this one, it's argued to be even MORE important than plot) is

So yes, it's a little T-Chart outlining their character views in relation to the themes. And the great thing about themes is that they're not something you can necessarily predict in the same way you can with the genre and plot.

But now see, I'm very lazy so I'm just gonna plagiarize @hyrule-kingdom-updates thingy [that you should read btw] because they said my point quite clear enough

Now I don't really need to care about those points about bond and relationships and being understood, because I'm dealing with already established canon characters. I'm not some NERD who dabbles with entire casts of ocs who even cares about ocs not me that's for sure ahaahahaahahahahahaahahahahahAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH *cries in my orphaned WTTU fic* AHAHAHA*sobs*DONT FUCKING LOOK AT ME THAT WAY I SWEAR--

But the points I do wanna focus on is the idea that characters provide new perspectives on the theme, and that characters growth can be tracked based on their wants, lies, and needs.

So see, themes can be predicted the same as genre/plot because while you can have the same fanfic plots and tropes, theme will always vary!

Sometimes it's a journey of selfworth with Revali! Sometimes it's an exploration of trauma with Link. Sometimes it's about how you deal with the vulnerabilities of love with Mipha. Sometimes there's straight up NOOOO theme, and people just be fucking, and kissing, and baking, and having a good time. And that is totally fine too!

But I'm not a fucking coward.

I'm gonna weave in themes with my plot, because I fucking can.

They both start off the same way: 100 years ago they were in love and happy. Basically the equivalent of childish naivety. For the first time in their lives, life is whimsical and charming, and they make each other happy. In fact, it's almost a flaw with how they perceive this happiness. But don't worry! It doesn't last long!

You know what happens.

I think the chart is pretty self explanatory. Revali builds walls fast enough to give a republican a wet dream. Meanwhile Link makes every aromantic in the chat groan with his doubled down sentiments in the idea that his chances of being truly happy again are gone.

Now, I can't exactly describe the full on process of the inbetweens, and where Revali and Link are gonna go from here, because...you have to read it for yourself! Heehee...but something I did think was fun was how these character views on the themes are revealed. Because you'll notice that, I never give exposition. Ever.

Ok well, let me rephrase that. I never give exposition scenes. I will never give you a big LOTR fancy wizard scene explaining the ins and outs of a character's question or the world's magic or whatever. I'm a very impatient Kip, and I value efficiency. Nonono, it's all about multi tasking, baby!

Chapter 1: Holes is divided into three parts.

Post 100 Years - Medoh (Establishes Ghost Rev/Bonk Head Link's view)

100 Years Ago - Flight Range (Establishes old Revalink views)

Post 100 years - Mark (Develops Ghost Rev/Bonk Head Link's view in contrast to who they once were)

I think the way that you structure flashbacks is incredible vital, as it's a very quick way to characterize people without having them say stuff like "I used to be like you, until I took an arrow to the knee" or whatever.

And with the main structure of the chapters and the fic as a whole is focus on their characters, that means I can hide whatever other stuff I want in those scenes, becuase you're too busy absorbing the fun character stuff to realizing I'm giving you boring exposition. Like for example:

Post 100 Years - Medoh and Mark

Foreshadowing for the end of the fic

Set up connection to Medoh with Revali

Link has defeated Windblight

Link has been visiting Revali every night for the past few days

Link has already met Kass and presumably Teba

Link doesn't have the Mastersword

Revali's Gale is still an ability that needs master and practice on Link's end

And that's just some of the stuff.

And see, the only reason I can efficiently give all of this information regarding character, and even exposition, is because of the theme. The themes make everything relevant, and everything circles and encompasses one another, so there's absolutely no wasted space. I mean don't even get me started on how it's gonna be to characterize the other characters around this

I don't wanna talk about the other characters too much either because that's spoilers, but you can probably take a gandar based on my notes.

And oh my god this is just on the theme of the faults that come with "soulmates" and "true love" and all that, and how even magical destined relationships still require work and effort, and that no one thing or person solves all your problems. And that's not even TOUCHING the shit on trauma and scars. I didn't think it was even possible for me to talk about botw without touching on that, ha. Ah well, I've been talking for too long.

To be honest, the first oc this made me think of was Blake, who I know you know a lot about XD but I'll give you a headcanon anyway!

Ok so like. Blake LOVES pirates. He doesnt have any experience manning a ship or sailing at all or even singing sea shanties but he loves the idea of pirates, who can go wherever they want and do whatever they want and swear as much as they want, and basically he just likes the idea of having that much freedom. He would make a good pirate probably, other than the fact that he would probably go stir crazy if he was confined to one singular ship.

...oh wow i really have become obsessed with pirates lately if this is where my brain immediately went

Anyway though! For a headcanon more related to bats! It probably comes as very little surprise to anyone who has seen my designs for Blake but his demon wings absolutely look like bat wings, and that is on purpose, because I just love the vibes and they fit him so well, especially since bats are fuzzy little critters and you cannot convince me that Blake isnt also a fluffy little bean. But other than that, I also lowkey made dreamworld Blake very similar to Batman, even though I'm only recently getting into that fandom. I love the idea of a slightly overpowered antihero that has way too much money to burn and doesnt hog it like most irl rich people but instead uses it for the sake of helping people, and who is also an overdramatic angst lord who likes wearing capes lol

I dont know if ive talked about that much, actually. Blake has a lot of money. My dream world Ganondorf made this huge company that gathers and distributes information and he hired Blake as like, the person who trains the bodyguards and other warriors who protect said information from physical threats, and as such he naturally gets tons of money from it.

He and Vivi have that much more rivalry between them because of it (Vivi hopes to someday have more information than Ganondorf's company does and also they like the idea of "eat the rich" so this is the main reason they hack into Blake's bank account to pay for any clients that they get that can't pay their prices. Blake doesn't like this at all obviously but, despite the fact he would never admit it, he gets why Vivi does it and thats why he never actually does anything to Vivi for it, he just makes empty threats and waves his scythe around and pretends to be mad)

So yeah anyway Blake is basically Batman but hes a bratty teen demon lord instead of a playboy billionaire that accidentally adopted a bunch of superheroes and I only just now realized this lol. I wouldnt say i have a type but DANG there are certain character tropes that just click with me, huh

You know why I have to write those 'essays'? Cause I get asks like this that brush over a bunch of different topics and I want to make sure I not only address every part of it but also make sure I'm making my pov very clear so I don't have people misinterpreting what I say - even though they still do - or accuse me about random bitching without and reasons or justification. Anyway get ready to do some crying cause you are getting another essay.

I know not every queer storyline has to be rooted in the angst of coming out. I wish there were more that weren't. It's the reason I loved booksmart so much. It's one of the reasons I love Dare Me, because that show had sapphic leads and while their relationship was at the core of the show. It wasn't the fact that they were queer that was focused on. Oh god I could rant about Dare Me forever.

Now my point with JJ and Pope is that we don't get the impression that the boys are currently out as queer. JJ from the start was set up as a bit of a womaniser, a bit girl mad - it would have been very easy to make that gender neutral if he was bi, as I headcanon. With Pope it's the same, I personally view him as gay, but if he was bi/pan it would have been easy to show him like that as we see him attempting to flirt on two occasions. Now this isn't to say that in future seasons they can switch it up as if it was always canon, like they did with Clarke in the 100. My point however, isn't to say that JJ and Pope releasing their sexualities and feelings has to be filled with angst, the example I gave can very easily be played a bit cutely - even if they do address the internalised homophobia that I'm just sure would effect a character like JJ - but just that based on my experiences as a queer person and what I know to be experiences of others that it would realistically play out differently to how it would with a m/f couple. Even then when to comes to friends to lovers in general the removal of physical intimacy when that tension starts to build out of awkwardness is common, it doesn’t play out the same way that ships like JB and Sarah do in which they increase in physical intimacy. 

I didn't bring jiara into this. I didn't go out comparing jjpope and their interactions to jiara, I was simply speaking to how jjpope's relationship was portrayed. In terms of 'evidence' I am more than aware the jiara wasn't written to be a developing romance, anything there was created by what the fans saw and choices made by the editors. But it is also a canon fact that at the very least JJ is attracted to Kie, that all the pogues 'kinda have a thing for her' and that he has 'tried' something with her. Even if the intention of those things wasn't to build to a relationship - they did happen and that's not up for interpretation. I'm not gonna bring up the 'did you tell JJ?' thing cause it still confuses the hell out of me.

The thing with the cheek kisses is that it's not the action in itself that made it a romantic thing. A handshake can build romantic tension when framed that way but that doesn't make every hand shake in that piece of media suddenly romantic, make sense? If you compare the two scenes we have the build up of Kie walking up to John B, a close up of a lingering cheek kiss, the pull back with lingering looks and then the reactions of others who have observed it and picked up on something. It frames it as a significant moment with slow beats. That's how you build romantic tension. With the JJPope one it just flows past it, JJ pulls back from the hug, a quick peck on the check and a 'love you too man' with a smirk and pat on the check. We don't even have a second of Pope's reaction to it. Do you see what I mean?

You can love that moment as a shipper. I mean it's a great moment that really highlights their dynamic. To you it's a dynamic that you see and think oh this would play out so well romanticly, it's a dynamic I see and think oh I love their friendship. Each of those are valid reactions. But it isn't a moment that has been intentionally framed to build romantic tension and suggest a budding relationship.

Darl, I swear to god if I was coming to you with my shipping bias' this would be a very different conversation. I know I will always have them and I will lean into them when I'm on vc with shes, theys and gays and we are getting lost in headcanons but I do my best take a step back when I talk about these things here because I've been in fandoms when you have two extremes and no one relents and it's awful, I don't want to create that space. And once again, I did not bring jiara into this. My original post was not a comparison to jiara.

I am very curious about your perspective on queer coding here. Because yes, JJ has chaotic bi energy and I will die on this hill. But I do not see how he has been queer coded. Other than people seeing a man being physically affectionate with another men and insist that can't be platonic. As with Kie I can see it more, not for a second do I believe that what went on with Kie and Sarah was straight. And I desperately want to see Maddie play Kie as pan to rep her own very underrepresented sexuality! And in terms of how she's written, stuff like being an astrology bitch and environmentalist scream queer to us, I do think it is important to note that the writers of the show being who they are would necessarily have the same impression of what a queer womans traits would be. In regards to that scene in ep 1 where they have the hot touron girl and then JJ, JB and Kie all perking up and doing the nod thing? I don't think anyone has a straight explanation for that.

The 'sTorYtELLiNg bullshit that u probably learned from a youtube video' comment made me laugh cause it reminds me of this guy I had a fight with on the weekend over Remus and Sirius being queer and he decided to undermine my argument by saying 'just because you read it on reddit doesn't make it true' which... yike. Any way, maybe you do but I don't have the tolerance to sit down and watch a youtube video on someone analysing a show. All my interpretations come from years of writing actual essays analysing elements and themes in media. As well as having a keen interest in direction and editing, so I pay a lot of attention to those things and you start to notice patterns. In terms of credentials I don't have any but I do think these 'essays' do an alright job of me not only explaining my interpretation but why. Because I'm not someone to just say things and expect that to just be accepted or think that is makes it true.

She can't keep eye contact to save her life when she's lying. Master of "oh look at these curtains! What an interesting pattern! And this floor! Is that oak?". If there's lying involved, she lets other people do the talking and defaults to stand around looking grumpy in the background.

🌱 Seedling - What is their most vivid memory from childhood?

Early childhood: Sitting next to her dad while he drives their wagon. The sun is too bright, and blinds her when she turns her head to look at him. He's humming the melody to a song everyone had been singing at dinner yesterday. She can remember the melody, but barely the voice.

Later childhood: An angry woman chasing her down the hallway of the orphanage. She bursts through the door into the backyard. There's a chorus of gasps and surprised shouts as she shoves other children out of her way. She climbs the large tree close to the back fence with ease, already familiar with every groove and branch. The sour-faced woman who'd been chasing her stops below and glares, shouting at her too stay up there, if she knows what's good for her. She remembers the feeling of bark under her palm, and the hush that fell over the rest of the kids.

👑 Crown - What does your oc want to be remembered as? Why?

Good, most of all. Not as in "on the good-guys' team", because the opportunity for that came and went a while ago, but to the people close to her. Strangers and passing acquaintances dont matter to her, most wont remember her at all anyway. She wants the people that will actually remember her, and know more than just a name in a ledger somwhere, to remember her as good, as kind, as the person they could always call "home" and trust to have their back.

🎭 Masks - Do they act differently around certain people? What's different between the way they act around friends, family, strangers, etc.?

She's pretty standoffish as like... a default when it comes to people (unless she's looking for a target - then she'll be the most charming person in the room). On the surface she'll probably seem like a bit of an asshole to those she really cares about too, even when in reality she'd bend over backwards for them. Hopefully the people in question have realised that's not the case by then, or match her stubbornness.

✂️ Scissors - What is the "last straw" for them to cut someone out of their life? How easily do they let go of people?

"I work better alone, anyway." Keeping other people around just leads to endless agruing and what-ifs when on her own she can just do. Some people are good to keep around for a job or two, but in the end there's always a catch. One can't keep their mouth shut and all but tells the whole town their plan, another tries to talk circles around her and get out with a bigger part of the take, a third caves and breaks the moment bullets start flying. It's not as much the last straw, as it is the first. That said, if it's a matter of a person close to her, she'd give them more chances than she probably should. And if it was them that chose to walk away, she would tell herself it’s for the better, that they deserve better than her anyway.

💧 Droplet - Random angst headcanon?

Ok listen Connie is ceo of the “acts cold and distant until the person she cares about gets hurt”. Idk exactly what would lead them to that situation but imagine someone gets shot or smth and she tries to keep a straight face first and joke around but inevitably just breaks and panics and nothing matters other than getting that person to safety because god, she cant loose them and in the meantime the person in question is just baffled because it’s the first time they see how much she cares.

💘 Heart w/ Arrow - What traits do they look for in a relationship? Do they believe in love at first sight?

Initial attraction is about thrill for her. It has to be fun, passionate, exciting, and it’s even better if it feels just a little bit dangerous. That said she ususally goes for no-strings-attached relationships and nothing that lasts very long. For a committed relationship she’d need there to be a lot of mutual trust and understanding - not just attraction/chemistry - which is a total 180 from what she usually looks for and kinda hard to find when she is very slow to open up. She does believe in true love and soulmates (or at least wants to), but not love at first sight. If someone tried to pull a “i loved you since the moment i met you” or something along those lines she’d probably just roll her eyes.

☄️ Comet - What do people assume about them? Are they right?

I’ve mentioned this before but people often assume Connie is unreliable and someone you have to watch out for to stab you in the back. They’re wrong. She stands by her word once she’s given it. Grace is sometimes assumed to be a bit broody. She’s a gun for hire, she has a couple of scary-looking scars, and she’s a bit quiet (and has a bad case of resting bitchface), so it’s a fair assumption, but it also couldn’t be further from the truth. Also, some people take one look at her and go “oh she could kick my ass” and they would be correct. :)

💐 Bouquet - Create a bouquet for them! What do those flowers mean? Are any of the flowers their particular favourite? (ah shit can u pretend that i wrote "w flowers from the game" on the bouquet ask thank u - barbiepappa)

Ok idk if these would make particularly pretty bouquets but i tried lol

For Grace i’m going with the praire poppy, for peace, rememberance, and resiliance, but also death, yarrow, for protection, and valerian flowers, (even if only the roots are in-game) for strength. You could also toss in some marigolds, for joy. Her favourite flowers are apple blossoms though (meaning love and in some cases life enduring beyond death). :) For Connie i’m starting with oleander, for desire, charm, but also caution, milkweed and bird of paradise for freedom. And this one isnt in-game but bear grass flowers for rebirth. It’s one of the first flowers to pop up where there’s recently been a forest fire and idk i just loved that detail and i think it’d make a nice filler. Her favourite flowers would be either oleander or forget-me-nots.
