Sitting down for tea, she has continuously grown closer with the Queen. They both share that they are not from England, Mingxia was raised in France. Their titles were inherited, not bestowed upon by the Dowager Princess upon Charlotte's marriage to King George. Sharing the frustrations of the English customs, it brought them closer together. She has not forgotten the ways that the Ton has treated her, speaking English extra slow and loud as to think that she does not speak the language herself. Sometimes out of spite, she speaks in French to them. Confuse them more.

"I must say, the mind games that the Ton plays are surely none that I have ever read in any military strategy book." Mingxia said as she took a gentle sip of her tea. "They care not that I am a master of an instrument from my mother's homeland, only the pianoforte. And...the English are only interested in English tea and care not for the Chinese tea that my mother has taught me to prepare." now im also still thinking about tma dnd au.... mostly i agree with jonny&alex' assignments. Signing a contract to work in the Archives is really signing a pact with the Eye, so everyone there multiclasses in warlock, but only Jon really gains levels in it because of all the xp he gets by reading statements. Tim is a fighter, Sasha a 'real' wizard, Martin a bard who performs poetry instead of playing an instrument, says he studied at the College of Lore, but really he's self-taught and not even level 3 in bard.

Species though. i mostly drew Jon as a tiefling cause i wanted to give him horns but really, a tiefling would be preoccupied with whether or not he's turning into a monster. Sasha can just be human, and i think Tim is a half-elf, charismatic, easily fitting in with most crowds.

On the one hand i want Martin to be tall. but on the other. he just is a halfling. easily underestimated, typically caring, not very fast, not easily immobilized by fear, and, considering how little he gets hurt or wounded compared to tma's other characters, definitely a certain kind of lucky

I don't think we talk about xiyao exes to lovers enough. I understand that in canon the "breakup" ended with death and imo it was never going to end any other way (I have a lot of feelings about how jgy is doomed from the start) but even in aus where survival is an option I barely ever see their full potential realized. The fact that there is this heartbreaking gap that is between them now, and yet that, despite it all, they can't stop loving each other. When you have drama this good, why is the conflict relegated to outside threats and we end up with little to no exploration of internal strife, of the fact that these guys have been living a domestic lie for a decade (I cannot stress this enough, the amount of parralels between xiyao and jgy's marriage to qin su are staggering.)

And let me be clear I will NEVER begrudge anyone their hurt/comfort and wanting their faves who are denied happiness and peace at every turn to find it. god knows I need that sometimes. Or even the less healthy but so emotionally devastating fics where the caring isn't good, and it doesn't fix anything- might only make things worse, actually- and xichen ends up recreating his father's fate. I love all of those things. But. Man. This divorce was over 11 years in the making it should take AT LEAST that long to resolve. What do you do when the person you trusted the most lied to you for years? What do you do when the only person who's ever believed in you loses that faith so completely they'd hurt you over a lie without hesitation? I need me some xiyao who try to get over each other for 20 years and fail. I need them to meet after not seeing each other for years and have it hurt like no time has passed at all. I need arguments where no one raises their voice but that feel like a screaming match anyway. Do you see my vision?? Do you see what we could have?

You can interpret kid!Emile meeting kid!Constance as Baron Bartels wanting to secure a wedding between his son and the elusive House Nuvelle's heir... but that's only conjecture.

But let's be serious a moment, doylist wise, we couldn't have too many arranged marriages, because the player is supposed to be able to ship whoever they want and even have Billy marry everyone - even the disembodied gremlin in their head :(

There was nothing taboo, or said to be taboo in Nopes, about Matthias snagging an Adrestian to Barbarian Land (tm), or House Gautier frowning because Lady Gautier 1 was an Adrestian - if she was a noble... it opens another can of worms, can you imagine Miklan being Caspar's cousin, if Lady Gautier 1 was, idk, a noble daughter from House Bergliez? Let say she was, Miklan couldn't inherit Gautier because no crust, but what about his stance/role/title in Bergliez? Could he just roll over Caspar's older bro (never named) if he had more muhrit or something like that, and become Leopold's heir - even if he's part Faerghan?

As you noticed, we had instances of arranged marriages with the shadow note about House Daphnel - are we really supposed to believe the traditional House Gloucester, who puts much emphasis on its lineage and what not, would have let Lorenz pick anyone (even if he has his own criteria!) while Erwin wouldn't have arranged anything at his birth??

Jugdral wise we could have some "doomed by inheritance" pairings in the second gen, where Patty would have to return to Jungby as its Duchess if her bro Faval inherits something else (or died),even if she married, say, Ced who's staying as the King of Silesse.

But for all of its supposed "Jugdral inspiration", Fodlan didn't go there, so we will never know what happens with international marriages and their potential consequences.

Fodlan HC : Ionius's great-grandmother (who was a concubine!) was a scion of House Blaiddyd so Gertrude, Supreme Leader's second oldest sister, popped up a minor crust of Blaiddyd at birth.

Of course tensions arose between Gertrude's mom and Ionius (because the relationships between Faerghus and Adrestia were soured since Lambert beat Ludwig during the Battle of the Eagle and the Lion during their year together at GM) and she was exiled. Gertrude was designed to be the first kid to be "experimented upon".

Spring through the Seasons AU - The beginning

I thought I'd just provide some of the sketches that show the main idea behind the story of this AU with something that isn't just a simple description of events that take place in it. (So yeah, the sketches are incorporated between the text if you are more interested in the art and not the story.) Depending on future posts, there may be also some sketches with simple description texts. It will basically depend on what I'm in the mood for and what fits the situation better. But either way, have fun with what could be considered the prologue for this AU.

A strong wind blows through the colorful treetops, making them rustle and tugging at their leaves, detaching them from their home and dragging them far away. The ruler of this realm watches the eternal bustle in solitude. Twirling a fallen maple leaf between his fingers, he stares out at the lake and the small island in its center. Once more, as he had done so often lately, he wondered if there was anyone out there beyond the wild animals. Someone he could talk to. But the little rafts he had built out of sticks and sent out on the lake in the hope that someone would find them didn't seem to have arrived anywhere. Or… simply hadn't been discovered. But perhaps there was just no one left but him. His second attempt, the journey to the border of his realm, had only led him to an unclimbable cliff of cold and smooth stone, while a storm like he had never seen before - white and icy cold - had blocked his vision and chased him back again deeper into his own realm. After encountering this massive obstacle, he had given up trying to explore the other border of his home to save himself from further disappointment. And yet… he still hoped that someone would come and find him.

Slowly, his fingers open. Releasing the leaf in his hands and allowing the wind to take it on a journey that he can not go on. Perhaps it will find it's way beyond the borders of his homeland.

It all started with one fallen red leaf brought to your little world by the stormy autumn winds coming from across the island.

Dancing in the wind, it made its way across the clear spring sky. Bright red, like the shell of a ladybug. You had never seen anything like it before. The leaves of the trees and bushes in your home coming all in a variety of shades of fresh, bright green.

You stare up in fascination, following the strange leaf as it sinks lower and lower until you only have to reach out your hands to catch it.

Where could it have come from? Did it come from the white lands in the west? Or the dark green forests from the east? Or… perhaps from even further away? Your imagination runs wild as you try to imagine how a crown of leaves covered in crimson might look.

There was a strange urge in your chest that you had never felt before. You wanted to see it with your own eyes. The place where this leaf came from…
