season 5 of white collar is very pleasing to me because i love conman neal caffrey but it really makes me dislike peter. he tells every criminal he comes across that all they’ll ever be is a criminal, but also tells neal that he corrupted the system by getting him out of prison on a bribe but was your system ever really working if you keep putting people through it to punish them for their crimes but then also don’t think they’ll ever change? he’s lowkey turned into kramer this season
#peter has the balls to say that neal stole the coins cause he’s a thief#not because he wanted to save peter#and i’ve said this before but neal just doesn’t get angry#and so there’s no goddamn catharsis#so i just keep getting angrier and angrier#every time peter declares that neal’s a criminal and that’s all he’ll ever be#cause i do think neal goes back to pulling cons#because peter treats him like a criminal again#when neal had earned a right to be free before he ran to the island on peter’s signal#to not have to spend his life tied to the bureau just because he’s good at what he does#neal got peter the promotion because of how well they worked together#he deserved good things#and with no diana in this season it felt like he was working in enemy territory#i love him i hope he’s having fun in paris i hope mozzie joined him#white collar#neal caffrey#peter burke

So confused where fandom/fic writers got this interpretation that Miles does stupid shit that doesn’t make sense or barely works out in the end or puts his friends in unnecessary danger all the time. Like in both movies the others simply underestimate him and don’t understand what Miles is doing cause he thinks like Miles, not like your everyday Spiderman. He uses his Venom Strike to throw Kingpin in the ITSV movie and literally saves Gwen and Peter because they went into battle less than ready. Then had the entire plan to lure the Spiders in ATSV, yet I keep seeing him written like he doesn’t think or gets his friends in trouble even when he understands the danger. Most of the time his different thinking has helped or led people to fix personal issues.
The first movie alone pretty much sets in stone that the exact opposite of what he wants is others to get hurt by his actions, inactions or the actions of others and trying to live up to that belief and the expectations it carries. Across the Spider-verse hammers it home with how he constantly tries to save people because that’s what he should do, rather than listen to some theory that is clearly not absolute at best and outright wrong at worst. Every fic has him being the one to cause issues and not fix them when his planning and actions literally helped save Gayatri and her father. (c’mon we know the glitching was the spot)
Yeah, I get making him stubborn or strong willed cause he doesn’t listen all the time but usually it’s for a good and valid reason, if he listened every time he was told not to, guess how many of our beloved characters would be dead?
#cause all the times he acts rash are because hes being lied to misled or not treated like he is gonna have to be spiderman and is spiderman#first gwen with the entirety of spider society and why he couldn't come then talked over by Miguel and blamed for what he couldn't possibly#control not to mention the shoddy nature of miguels entire theory#cause if it was true 1610b earth 42 and mayday wouldnt have happened or would collaspe casue miles was never supposed to be spiderman#so many things would be going wrong if it was true#miles is pretty level headed most of the time and quick he outsmarted the guy who made the trans dimension tech for crying outloaud#he simply doesnt tell his exact plan he does it and its up to others to figure it out cause why would he narrate his plan to them#he litteraly tells miguel he just doesnt know what miles is doing in response to miguel thinking hes just running blindly even Peter & Gwen#are suprised cause the whole point of miles story is others thinking they know it and underestimating him#him being dumb and rash and naive in fics just isnt a good source of conflict especially if its post ATSV and BTSV#he is constantly stating he doesnt need to prove himself as spiderman to anyone but himself soemthing he realizes in ITSVs climax#he already knows he spiderman and be damned if hes gonna try to prove it to someone who wanted his dad to die like yall treat him like he#learned nothing Miguel made more issues by not listening to Miles about the spot like he wants to wait for him to get stronger so Miles dad#will die think about that and say Miles is rash and doesn;t think again he isnt inexperienced or naive anymore save that for Pavitr who jinx#himself and has only been spiderman for 6 goddamn months#miles morales#across the spiderverse#atsv#spiderverse#atsv spoilers#spiderman#mini rant over im actually going to sleep now

He balances school and hero life once more.#He becomes night wing when Gotham grows too dark and stifling. He needs out. To be a solo hero again. He hates that he has to leave batman#But at least he's alive to be mad.#When he gets siblings wow new experience!! pertaining to the idea of tenax’s band of strays i do think it’s touching that the kids are the ones who saved him and waited outside the door to make sure he’s okay. for all tenax claims to be harsh and cruel it’s a fine indicator of his character that the kids won’t rest without him and are there every time he’s in danger.

All the younger spideys keep finding ways to annoy superior cuz they know he isn't going to do anything except verbally react in a way that's so old man core that it is funny to them. They frequently prank that loser and he genuinely thinks hes just struggling to keep up with Kids These Days </3 but also if they request him to do something he will try even if hes suspicious of it (because he has a soft spot for kids and if he doesn't they'll go running to Peter slandering him) and everytime it ends with him being hit with a Delicious Pie to the face

me going into marvel's spider-man 2 expecting to be unwell levels of horny for venom, only to come out of it attracted to harry osborn:
#i've never liked harry in past iterations because he's always depicted as an entitled brat#sure. he's sympathetic when you consider his dad. but they sort of just pack on the incel with him in the animated shows and live actions#vs seeing a harry osborn that's not only sympathetic bc of his fraught relationship with norman but ALSO#bc he has every reason to feel betrayed in this game#he's forced into a legacy he doesn't want to pursue by a father who is way more canonically loving than usual but still dangerous#he loses his mother who is his idol at a young age to a terminal illness that he then inherits and has to accept he won't recover from#except he might. because this miracle alien in his body could save him#and yet he gives it up to peter as he lay dying because he cannot lose his best friend#only now it looks like said best friend wants to keep that miracle from him because it makes him feel more powerful. and he tries to be#understanding but his body is FAILING him. he needs venom but venom doesn't want him#but even when he gets venom back he still is sound enough to realize the carnage (ha) venom leaves in his wake and begs peter to KILL him#because he's a dead man either way#and he won't hurt the people he loves. and he won't hurt others#not like norman#because he's not norman. he's his mother#mjspeaks#anyway.#i made this post bc i'm writing harry again and i love him

just got home from watching tasm 2 in a theater for the first time in my life and everything is hitting me in layers

Rewatching Bobby begins again for the 50th time and I really do think Bobby is my favorite character on 911

Random thought but I do imagine that Owynn and Eak occasionally saw other people over the years, especially when their relationship was going through a rough patch. I don't think they ever considered their relationship to be open, it just sort of... Became an unspoken agreement between them.
#eakwynn#it was half because owynn liked getting into things with fellow celebrities once he got famous#he didn't feel like dating any of them but he did think they were attractive and it helped boost his career so#why not make out a little?#and half because eak didn't particularly feel like waiting for owynn to make up his mind forever#like. a guy has *needs*#he wasn't really interested in finding someone new but occasionally fooling around with a stranger was... nice#it made him feel desirable and was a good way to forget about all his responsibilities + complicated feelings for a while#that whole thing kind of petered out the older they got as their relationship started stabilizing#and eventually they agreed to stop it altogether because they wanted their whole focus to be each other (+ their son)#I don't think they ever talked much about the subject though. they just said enough to be on the same page#eak knew some of the stuff owynn was up to based on paparazzi and honestly didn't want to have any more info than that#owynn meanwhile would like to know. but he also knows himself and knows that he's a very very jealous person#so if he got details about what eak did and who he did then he'd probably never stop thinking about it#to save himself the headache he just asked if it was anyone he knew (to rule out liontrap) and decided to move on from that
