Can you believe it’s practically October!?! ⁣ ⁣ I am finally taking the necessary steps to find some balance in my life. This next month is going to be crazy while I make all the shifts and changes I need to but once November comes I’m planning to have a grasp on it all. ⁣ ⁣ I kept waiting for things to balance themselves out but it didn’t seem to be happening haha so I decided to make the change for myself. 2021 is my year of boundaries. I am a yes person, I don’t like confrontation but because of that it has cost me my own peace and sanity. Life is too short for that! ⁣ ⁣ How about you!? #Repost @resilient_yoga • • • • • • ⁣Day 1️⃣ of the UnleashYourYogaGoddess challenge!⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ Today’s Pose: Frog Pose⁣ ⁣ For today we are to choose a name we feel reflects our inner goddess’s personality. ⁣⁣⁣ The name I choose is Elpis. In Greek mythology Elpis was the personified spirit of hope.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ In the Greek myth of Pandora’s box, Pandora herself was actually seen as a punishment to humankind because Prometheus, stole fire from the gods and gave its secret to humanity. So, the gods created Pandora and gave her a bunch of “gifts” placed in a jar. Pandora opened the jar and the “gifts” were unleashed on the world. These “gifts” led mainly to misery and deceit therefore, taking human beings out of an idyllic past and into an uncertain future. However, the connection to hope is that the only one of the gifts that didn’t escape the jar was Elpis or hope. Elpis hung on and did not escape before the lid was replaced.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ This story can be interpreted in many ways but I interpret this to mean that the jar is a metaphor for the human body and the story teaches us that though we cannot always control what happens on the outside, we can still have hope contained inside.
