I am sure that I suffered minor injuries in my twenties, but I honestly cannot remember a single one. Then one day I screwed up my shoulder in the gym. I was 31 years old. I could not lift heavy for several weeks, so I decided to try a yoga class at the gym. My first class was with @rona_graceblu. In hindsight, I am extremely fortunate to have started yoga with Rona. Her classes were accessible, challenging, and fun. Her instructions were very clear and made sense to me. I loved her classes. When Rona quit teaching at the gym and shifted her classes to a local yoga studio, I followed her. I practiced with her for a long time. I don’t believe that she teaches yoga today. She is busy with family, travels, and her business (@graceblu). But I will never forget Rona. I am so grateful for her teaching, which inspired a lifetime of practice and eventually teaching for me too. . It would have been nice to start doing yoga in my twenties or even earlier. But I really don’t think I was ready for it. In my twenties, my body could recover from just about anything and everything that I put it through. I didn’t have a ton of stress. I didn’t worry about the future. Although I would have benefitted from the practice, I didn’t think I needed yoga. It seemed unnecessary at the time. Now I know better but I have no regrets. I am glad I started when I did. Today, yoga is very important for my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I need it. I love it. I love practicing and teaching yoga. I plan to do both for a very long time. After all, I really just started doing yoga. That first class with Rona was only 18 years ago! . Thanks to @supermomtraci and @renee_xtina for the tag.
