Because in my lil plot, though I moved the timeline a lot 😈🙏 Dutch went there much earlier, and Johnny did wait for some years, and it lowkey started ruining his life. Everyone around was like, dude, that’s gay get a life (also your momma dead). So he stopped visiting altogether, and got a somewhat average 80s dudebro life, dealing with a newborn, low income jobs, half ruined relationships and all the emotional baggage.

And Dutch was like completely abandoned there, getting letters from Bobby sometimes about his boner for Jesus and stuff. Around that time Kreese also went to the same prison, and since Dutch had literally no one rooting for him, he fell into an even worse pattern and became Kreese’s lil substance addict goon. And after some more years they were probably separated, Dutch’s life completely ruined, so he was like. Erm. Okay time to listen to Bobby and probs do something I have no one else left in my life. Also miss my gay karate situationship.

So he got clean, and was released on probation, his family like completely abandoning him too because he’s a felon. No money no job no bitches no family congratulations you’re like around 30+ something now. Depression 😔

Wearable Input Device: "Spokey Dokey"?

So seeing this I had a thought:

Thinking of Sampson Lee's neat keyboard in Cowboy Bebop the Movie, I tried threading an N52 Speedpad into a belt assembly to see how it might look and feel to type on with chording and yeah this is actually pretty great actually?

This absoloutely feels like something a mecha pilot would wear, that would allow for robust access in the field, or make the pilot suit part of the interface of the robot to do all the startup checklists on before using the HOSAS inceptor grips.

Note the same throughhole in the N52 which lets me thread it into a belt also lets you put your fingers in, akin to gripping a joystick.

I think with some refinement you could fit an analogue trigger and a bumper in here, and the thumb-cluster could be expanded slightly to include some other inputs.

Its begging for a trackball or an analogue stick in truth.

Genuinely surprised by how comfortable this is from a Human Factors Engineering standpoint???? Like, "putting your hands in your pockets" level comfortable, and it would be even better with a wrist-loop or something.

It beats the pants off of any cyberdeck esque project I've ever tried in terms of usability so I think this is something which needs to be iterated upon actually???

It hangs very naturally and you can vary the angle by adjusting it against the rubbedr of the quick-release strap. My one complaint is the base is designed for a desk and I think it could stand to be curved to better conform to the hip or leg which I think could cut the total size down considerably.

Even sat in a chair this feels surprisingly comfortable, with my only complaint being that its conflicting with the strap of my repurposed shoulder-bag, which is its own entirely different issue and that the default switches kind of suck.

The interior has a ton of room so you could absoloutely squeeze a decent battery and a Rasberry Pi in this thing, or use it as a pure input device that doubles as a USB hub/storage (SD card) and uses the spare room to charge a phone.

Two of these would give you a pretty bonkers battery life if you had one on either hip.

I think with ultra low profiles, a curved form, a slightly more robust strapping mechanism and a means to plug this into a smartphone as the middle computer (with something like a pair of smart-glasses as the display) you could have really really robust wearable computer and if you add a second one on the other hip, you've solved the wpm problem.

btw I typed this entire post on it, only lifting my hands off to use my trackball.

Those of you who work on cyberdecks, I genuinely think there's something to this. Wearable split keyboards which are ruggedized with tougher switches absoloutely feel like they are something which should exist.

You post about AK ops all having a spot has given me a sliver of hope that maybe...Sand Reckoner might be useful to me...someday...somewhere...bc I wanna build him once he's out in global but it's somewhat disheartening when I actually think about using him for anything...

alright let's take a look at what sand reckoner can do. a summoner will always have a place in low operator optimisations btw because they're literally five dudes in one, though I should probably preface this with a disclaimer that I'm not that good with summoners myself and most of my understanding of how to use them is from watching others do it

sand reckoner is notably the first lower rarity summoner with ranged summons, which patches that hole in the subclass and gives him an edge versus flying enemies compared to mayer, scene, and deepcolor. unlike ling and magallan, the amount of summons he can deploy also isn't capped at lower than the amount he can hold, so he can descend with a flock of five funny birds if you want.

his summons are basically just durin without her talent, they deal arts damage, have the same range, and roughly the same stats. arts damage doesn't face any flat reductions, so their low-ish atk won't get thresholded and their damage should be solidly okay. one durin is weak, but five durins piles up. defensively they'll keel over almost immediately so they're not very good as bait

sand reckoner's talent is 20% increased damage against machine enemies, of which there aren't many, but basically all of them are high priority targets, and several of them are also fairly commonly used outside their debut maps precisely because they're familiar dangerous enemies (rhine robots, londinum artillery, vampire cars). it's conditional, but the condition isn't all that rare and 20% is such a big number he's going to be doing very noticeable damage in these situations. arknights toolbox lets you filter enemies by traits like this

s2 has special targeting priority (good) and slow (good) and will give him a new summon (good) and lasts 20 seconds with a 40 sp cost for a clean 50% uptime (preddy good). it's a slower cycle than scene's s2 but also doesn't have the major drawback scene has, which feels like a fair exchange.

as you can see on the list of mechanical enemies most of them are heavy, and a lot of them are also fast, so this skill is very effective at countering them. being able to single out and separate priority targets is very useful, and usually the heavier the enemy the more dangerous, so even without the talent damage this skill can still see a lot of supportive use. since it's the summons doing the slowing he can separate elites from trash in multiple places on the map with this, which can make him a better pick than just a regular decel binder.

the summon attack interval is 1.6 seconds (down to 1.48s with lv3 module), so optimal sand reckoner use would probably want to stagger the summons' attacks somehow to make sure there is no downtime in the slow.

I'll be honest his s1 looks kinda shit by comparison. 10 seconds of increased aspd on a 30s cooldown without the ability to generate more summons is very unlikely to see much use over his s2. it's only a 10 second startup too though, so I can see it having use in fast and short maps where you wouldn't be using enough birds to have to regenerate them anyway, or maps without any ranged enemies that could threaten the birds. +60 aspd on multiple units also goes along way for hitcount mechanics

his module is the one that makes the first summon not take deployment slots which is just incredibly convenient and literally makes it easier to find room for him on your team. I think the talent upgrade from higher levels isn't that great, it makes the slow on s2 a little more consistent but the number is so small that I personally wouldn't level it beyond stage 1 even if I intended to use him a bunch unless i fell in love with his character and wanted to show favoritism

going thru my moms cds and bc cd collections where slightly before my time (also i had no way to play them and never sought them out as a kid) i think my version of this is the folders of awful mp3s i got off of yt to mp3 converter. i heard someone say that nobody actually used that to build a whole library but i absolutely did. By downloading every single track independently. And this was before I was allowed a phone so i had an sandisk mp3 player. truly vintage.

but the most important thing is that all this gave me a taste for expansive, completely offline music libraries. my current one has more than 2000 tracks. Awesome

For Shen Anwei and Xian Anxiu's art; I have been working on a piece of art for a while now, but don't know which story to post the art in, but most likely it will be in the next update of one of two of my fics 'Once More With Feelings' or 'The Wrath or the War God'.

I have also been working on making art for Time Traveler LQG from my fic 'Devotion' which I am in the middle of writing the next chapter for but it seems I will not be able to post in this update but in the next.

Also, there is a possibility for me to make art for 'Through the Well' of Modern LQG and Shen Jiu. Actually, there is a possibility for all of my fics to get an art piece by me, so yeah 🤭😉

And yes, I am a TGCF fan, a startup one. That is because I just started branching into this side of MXTX's novels after many lovely readers asked me if I read TGCF novels. I watched the Donghua and read the Manhua and liked them quite well, so I am planning on starting the Novel soon, and after that, I can write a TGCF Fiction.

Actually, I already had an idea or two for my first TGCF fic; I mentioned it when I posted the first fic in my transmigration series inspired by SVSSS, A Wangxian MDZS fic. The First TGCF fic I am planning on posting would be a SVSSS-inspired fic, so yeah, I will probably post it after finishing one or two stories from my ongoing ones and getting familiar with the novel to not mess everything up.

hey, it's me again regarding cinematic mode!

ok so this took awhile! i am actually using their videocamera but i redownloaded it and it seems to work fine now so far! but now i do have an issue with graphicrules (i'm using this instead btw) now since i didn't use theirs ever since their update (which was faulty at that time), when i moved it and the setters into the configoverride folder as instructed, i kept getting this error: "Unable to start:  There was an error processing the startup configuration script."

i've look around for answers like this and basically i can't use s4s' graphicrules and the setters in the configoverride... so i removed them from the folder to leave it blank and replaced the default graphicrules in the bin folder with s4s' instead which it still pops up the same error. i think i've seen you using this overhaul before, did yours happened too? i'm not sure where to contact s4s either since they're not active online...

So what happened with a recent patch was maxis overhauled the graphicsrules.sgr file with some new stuff in there, so old ones stop the game from starting, or produce weird results like super pixelated Sims, because they're no longer valid. What you have to do is take a copy of the new vanilla version and edit the parts of it you want to change. You can't just pop an old edited version in there, it won't work.

I was previously using Simp's alt clipping version without the setters file, just the straight up graphicsrules.sgr file, alongside my own camera files edits. What I've done now is compared side-by-side the old edited file and the new vanilla file, and edited the values in the new version to match what had been previously edited in the old version. Then I've placed that directly into the Bin folder (keeping a backup of the original vanilla file).

The main downside to this is that whenever the game is patched the sgr file in the Bin folder will be overwritten with a fresh vanilla one, so you have to keep a backup of your edited one somewhere, or remember to take it out before you update, and pop it back in again afterwards. Placing anything at all in the configoverride folder at the moment seems to make the game not start (except for graphicscards.sgr, which I have edited to add my graphics card since it wasn't originally listed).

If you're editing the file yourself (which is easy to do, it just takes a little while and some patience), you also need to keep in mind that from time to time maxis will add new things to the graphicsrules.sgr file. So it's a good idea to periodically compare a new vanilla file with your current edited one and see if there's anything new, and if there is start the process again of transferring your edits over to the newer version.

ahhhh. wanted to come home after class and answer asks/write a lil but i had to spend an hour doing an emergency group meeting with half the members because they had a group meeting last night (i couldn't make it) and somehow out of 5 dudes none of them put 2 and 2 together that they were doing the project wrong.

so i gotta put 5 niggas on my back and carry this project. keep in mind just them telling me about it in the slack i knew it was wrong and i didnt go to the meeting. hell i didnt go to the class where the prof explained the project and actually explained the difference between what she asked us to do in the project vs what they did and i still knew it was wrong 😭

btw none of them wanted to listen to me that it was wrong until i emailed the professor and she confirmed it was wrong... its a product strategy class and ive been in product marketing the last 4 years but no one listen to me. 😭😭😭

I was looking into where COP is going it be hosted because it can tie in to earthshot, and of course Brazil is next year. COP31 (2026) is likely to be in Australia which is also a strong contender for earthshot, India is bidding for COP33 in 2028….

My reasoning on a potential Indian Earthshot is below this.

India better stay away from cop33 & Earthshot, especially after their latest 'achievements' in the conservation sector. The govt is fantastic in making bold claims but in reality, can't do shit. And I for one don't want william anywhere near that dumpster fire of hypocrites.

There's so many examples of their sheer incompetence, there's a polluted river in india - yamuna. Between 2017 - 2021 (or 22) I believe more than ₹6,800 crores of taxpayer money was spent on cleaning that death trap and it still is as dirty as it was when all this first began. There's actual toxic foam of ammonia and phosphates that floats around it 24/7.

Then just this week news came out that 25 Tigers, (which are an endangered species btw and also part of a very ambitious conservation project 'Project Tiger' started in 1973) have been untraceable from a state run national park for the past year. The only reason this came out was because another tiger was found dead from that forest.

And just yesterday, it came out that 10 elephants died in another state run park last month because they were fed...fungal infected millets.

Heck, Delhi? The capital? It's consistently been one of the most polluted cities of the world for years. It's a literal gas chamber, which gets the worst around the current time coz of various issues. Now diwali falls around this time and because of the air quality, the Indian supreme court banned any sort of crackers/fireworks to be burnt in the area? Sounds amazing right? But guess what since crackers have come to be associated with Diwali which is a hindu festival. So the members of the ruling party within their agenda have turned this ban into an attack on religion and consistently provoke their supporters on this ground urging them to burn crackers and make delhi insufferable for all.

This is just 4 examples, there's so many that if I start listing them, we'll be here for a long time.

Moreover, the current ruling party will only twist the visit to fill into their own agenda of hate mongering & political capital as they have been known to do with every such visit.

Also the govt quite literally cordoned off low income neighborhoods that fell on route of the attendees in Delhi with plastic barriers and police personnel during the G20 in 2023, to make sure no world leader saw anything other than the rosy picture they were putting out.

Now imagine what would happen in case of something like COP33. Ofc they would do similar repulsive things then also and imagine how harmful being attached to something like this with a potential Earthshot will be for William and his public image!

I would love for him to come here, Earthshot is such a fabulous initiative, and there's such a booming environmental startup sector in India like Phool (I personally am aware of their situation. My mum's cousin runs a marketing firm and she's the one who handles everything for them, and she's told me so much about how Earthshot has helped them since 2022 with linking them to investors, other similar businesses, exposure etc) or Kheyti etc etc which deserve to be highlighted.

But in the past 10 years buisness and government have become so intrinsically linked in india that no matter what the ruling party will hijack the contributions of these organizations like they do.

So yeah maybe I'm being a narrow minded idiot but Earthshot in India rn? Will only lead to credibility issues.
