i want to like miguel winning so badly, but i can’t. they bullshat robby out of a natural win so i can’t. the scene of robby in ep 13 felt like such an obvious parallel to s1 ep 10, only this time it would make sense for robby to win, bc he’s already learned his lesson and reflected on second place… right? wrong. why tf did they make hawk win that all valley tournament. i’m just relieved that robby was miguel’s main motivation for the tournament this time around and not stanford (which he didn’t even need the tournament to get accepted)

i also want to like johnny taking back cobra kai, but the whole show was trying to sell a message that cobra kai at the end of the day is a toxic dojo with toxic roots and toxic teachings, so i can’t. cobra kai coming back just for the tournament, before ultimately being put to rest along with kreese and silver would have been better imo. miyagi do incorporating attributes of cobra kai (which it literally did) would have been more satisfying to me. johnny focusing on offense, daniel defense. maybe they would even have separate dojos, but it wouldn’t be cobra kai. eagle fang is kind of a dumb name, but i would take it over cobra kai, bc at the end of the day johnny’s cobra kai is eagle fang. the true “strike first, strike hard, no mercy” is kreese and silver’s cobra kai, the true cobra kai.

but honestly, the biggest issue is that the last episode was rushed af

If Kreese survived the explosion then, it would make sense that so did Terry.

Also, I mean if Terry had died why would the magazine be asking what happened to him?

Guess they didn’t know WTF they wanted to do so shot that to leave it open which I think is why it was not mentioned at ALL after

Which a lot of people think was odd (cause it is)

But I think the reason for that was because that was supposed to be their open ended end/close.

Everyone lulled into a false sense of security or calm only for that to be what we see for them.

But then that didn’t happen so now we’re left with this abrupt weird send off which I guess they never thought about.

And Jon has been trying to defend on social media by saying that Johnny and Daniel wouldn’t think of them anymore because Johnny got his closure and Daniel got over Terry so why would they care.

Even though the entire show was Johnny caring about what Kreese thought - wanting his approval and wanting that apology for what he did. Kreese was, after all, a big part of the reason his life turned out the way it did. So yeah, them making up and Kreese being redeemed makes perfect sense that Johnny suddenly wouldn’t care he was just blown up / he definitely wouldn’t mention that.

Oh yes and Daniel is clearly no longer afraid of Terry so why would you think that and besides he knows he’s going to die soon so why would Daniel worry 🤣

Meanwhile Season five was Daniel beating his fear of Terry - complete with the physical representation of that when he physically defeats him - which they then seemed to forget by bringing Terry back and showing maybe Daniel wasn’t completely over it - if his facial expressions during the hot tub scene when Terry returns (and others) is any indication.

I mean the dude kidnapped him and put him in a cage.

WHICH IS NEVER REALLY MENTIONED AGAIN NOR PROCESSED BY DANIEL.

But magically Daniel is fine about Terry again without showing when that happened 🤷‍♀️

Actually, I think one of the main reasons the boat ending doesn't make sense to me is because Kreese has his whole "only the strong survive" way of thinking of natural selection. Like, that's his main character trait. He tries to kill Johnny twice for letting him down, so why would he suddenly be willing to sacrifice himself for him? If he was going to take down Terry, I don't think he would be willing to sacrifice himself either. His entire thing is that he does whatever it takes to survive.
