This one for the Doctor AU:
We had Thena loosing a patient but what if Gil looses patients as well?
"DAMMIT!"
Heads lift and turn and spring up all over the floor at the sound. It's one many of them have never heard before, even if the voice is familiar to them. It just doesn't happen like this.
Thena puts her charts down, not even looking behind her as she starts to move.
"Fuck!!"
"Gil," Kingo says gently, trying to reach for his partner and pull him up off the ground--away from the stretchers with the two patients they were trying to save. "Come on-"
"Shit!" Gil continues to curse up a storm, a far cry from his usually cheery and jovial self. He stands and stumbles back into Kingo after his exhaustive efforts to continue chest compressions even after they exceeded the voltage safe to exercise on such a young life.
Kingo looks back at Thena as she walks down the hallway towards them. She takes one look at things and he shakes his head. The closer she gets the more she can see what has Gilgamesh so beside himself.
"Gil-"
He rushes off, careful not to knock into her on his war path. A few interns snooping around do not get the same courtesy, all but sent flying as he seeks the refuge of an on-call room before he starts really laying waste to something.
Everyone but Kingo and Thena are left reeling in the wake of the display from who is usually the gentlest and lightest of heart among them. Thena kneels down, pressing her fingers to skin and using her stethoscope. She looks at her watch and then up at Kingo who nods. "Time of death, 11:47 am."
A car crash involving a family of four. Parents dead on scene. Daughters - age 6 and 9 - rushed to hospital via ambulance. Eldest suffers internal injuries (DOA). Youngest arrives at hospital and codes en route.
Thena closes the door to the on-call room behind her. The place is a disaster, only safe from Gil actually picking things up and throwing them. He's not really the type to throw punches when he's upset, but she can't blame him for his strife.
He runs his hand through his hair, faced away from her. "You can't be here, honey. I just...I need to..."
There's no end to the statement. She knows that he doesn't want her to witness his hurricane--to risk suffering getting caught up in it. She comes up behind him though, running her hand over his arm as she moves to sit on the oncall bed in front of him. "Gil."
He shakes his head, eyes completely full of tears. "They're just kids."
"I know," she whispers, pulling ever so gently on him. Gravity does the rest and he collapses into her, arms around her waist, his face pressed into the front of her scrubs. He's still covered in blood from the other girl.
Gil lets out a scream that rattles the room and probably outside of it too. It's agonised and raw and sounds like an animal in pain. His tears accompany it. "They're so young."
Thena listens to him get out his grief (a mere drop in an ocean to come). She rubs his back and his shoulders as he cilngs to her, sobbing into her lap.
"Th-They're-" he gasps, his whole body shuddering and trying to force him forward as a means of getting rid of what's wreaking havoc on his nervous system. "Six--she's six! She didn't...she's hasn't..."
"Sh, love," Thena whispers and coos to him as another scream tears out of him. She continues to hold him as best she can, wishing she could take even a drop of this pain from him.
"They didn't see anything," he whimpers, pressing his cheek to her thigh, "they didn't do anything. They were too young."
They're always too young.
"We could have-"
"No, Gil," she whispers, moving her hand to run through the dark feathery hair at the top of his head.
"If we had-"
"No," she shakes her head, running her hands over him gently. "There was nothing you could have done differently for those kids."
As much as they always wish there was.
His body finally loses some of its momentum and he truly slumps into her, devoid of strength. His hand clutches a fistful of the back of her scrubs, "it's not fair."
"It's not," she agrees, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to the top of his head.
"Why," he whimpers, snivelling more than wailing from deep within his chest.
"I don't know, baby," she whispers to him, pressing her lips to wherever she can reach. "I'm sorry."
"Not fair," he sighs again, now that his steam has run out. He loosens his hold on her.
Thena looks up at him as he pulls himself back to his feet. This is what really makes Gil the strongest one in the hospital. It's not that massive frame or any of his muscles; Gil has never had to leave a run early, even on the worst of worst days. She holds his hand delicately as she stands with him. "Hey."
He looks at her, and he looks just as bad as he must feel. She presses her - always a little cold - hand to his cheek, around his flushed and puffy eyes. "You okay?"
"No," he tells her truthfully, nuzzling into her touch like that's what's going to help him get back out there again.
Thena just nods. She would work the next 48 hours straight if it meant she could send Gil home right now. But he's not one of her doctors, or nurses, or interns. He's only the most important person in the world to her.
Gil sighs through his nose and holds her palm still so he can kiss it. "Thanks, sweetheart. I'll be okay."
"Will you?" she asks, desperate to make sure that, even if he's lying, that she can see for herself the severity of it.
"No," he smiles and shakes his head, and at least he's not lying about that. He pulls his hand back to himself as he prepares to leave their little haven and be separated from her again.
"Hey," she rushes to catch him before he opens that door--before they're plunged into the cold waters of their work life again. She moves swiftly, barely stopping her momentum enough to lean up and kiss him softly.
He leans into her like he's aching for it. After they're both off and out of this godforsaken hospital he can have all the kisses he likes--anything he needs to put this day a little further behind him.
She runs her hand down his chest, hoping that he knows just how much she wants to take this on for him--how much she loves him and how much she would be willing to endure in the name of that.
He nods. He knows--he always knows, when it comes to her. He leans down for one more kiss before turning and leaving before either of them lose what self-control they're clinging to and just stay in here for the rest of the night.
Kingo is hovering at a concerned but respectful distance. He nods at Gil, "yeah?"
"Yeah," Gil confirms, not at all concerned about the obvious evidence of his crying. He sighs heavily and looks at Thena again, "the family-"
"I'll call them, Gil," Thena assures him, her hands hovering at her sides, dying to reach out for him again, even under the unforgiving fluorescents of the hallway. "I'll do it personally."
His eyes are so, so sad. "You sure, hon?"
She nods, needing no fake smiles with him. "It's okay, Gil. I'll take care of them."
In his place, she'll take the best care she can of anyone left reeling after such a loss. Because if he were here to do it, he wouldn't rest until he had done everything he could for them.
He gives her another unapologetically sad smile before falling in step with Kingo, who glances at her behind him.
"Take care of him for me," she whispers, assured as Kingo gives between Gil's shoulders a pat, heading towards the next call and hoping it goes better.

Of all the Hetalia cast: if any of them were to successfully put a baby in Gil, who do you think would be the best father (gender neutral) to the baby? Who would be the worst? I’m talking about pure parenting skill. Additional comments on who would be the best/worst partner during the parenting process would be interesting to hear as well!
:D
Honestly, the best at child-rearing of the lot would (in my opinion) probably be Tolys or Ludwig. On the hypothetical tierlist Fran would be right beneath them because he would be good at raising kids but he's kind of a lunatic in his own way that bumps him down from the top slot.
At the bottom would be Ivan and Arthur, probably, but for very different reasons respectively. Don't worry about it!
Thank you anon, this question made my night <3

2 Year Mourning Period = Fanfiction Production
Elrond receives word of his brother's death. Despite his best attempts at refusal, the high king insists he takes a week off. Galadriel takes it upon herself to help Elrond in the absence of his brother.
'She sat on the edge of his bed and placed her hand over his as he looked at her, eyes dull and watery like rain clouds.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" He asked quietly.
A thought occurred to her.
"Lie down." She whispered, prompting him to close his anxious eyes that held dark shadows beneath them.'
Set before ROP but it's still the second age so I'm tagging it as such :)
Wrote this at 1am after my flatmate woke me up :D I apologise for any spelling errors.

I think sometimes we forget that Erzsi’s just as awkward about her feelings as her guys and she’s totally prone to short circuit over someone she finds attractive
Girlie literally fantasized to herself about her ex husband coming to a party completely naked in front of him - let her dream for a while 🙃

I thought this panel is just there for fun, filler and gags:

But turns out Gil is actually really seriously dead scared for his life of Break lmao
Tumblr media
Break was kind of out of it here what with him declaring Elliot is the Head Hunter and then finding out it isn't the case, then Gil getting on his nerves, Vincent distracting him from the distance etc. etc.,
that the random strike Gil didn't think would land actually landed right on his head
and immediately Gil goes
uh oh
look at that face that's literally his oh no I am gonna die I am gonna die good bye world good bye oz lysm please remember your loyal valet even after he is buried six feet into the core of the abyss bye bye
Tumblr media
I have never seen Break this annoyed before and this sure is a face to behold *eyes emoji* ....
but let's zoom in to look at Gil shall we?
Tumblr media
[alt text: gil.exe has stopped working.]
[Image Description: Gilbert Nightray is standing frozen, his legs apart and obviously shivering. He hasn't unclenched his fist yet. His gun is currently useless as it is hanging loose in his other hand. His eyes have turned into dots and his hair is standing up in all directions like a scared cat. Three speech bubbles can be seen all around him with no relevant dialogues in particular. One has a dozen ellipsis, another has !?, the third has a large HUH...!?]
anyway
Gil got away with lesser than he probably expected because Break was in a hurry to deal with the other problem,,
but my question is: what even happened in the past ten years that Gil is this scared to annoy Break? Annnnnd how much scary can Break get when he is super pissed off? I kinda wanna see that

Revisiting Episode 6 (and the end of Ep 5). Rewatching is always a stark reminder that the true horror of TG are the heartbreaking human tragedies, exactly like our RL.

I was wondering if you could do a toxic AU? One where like they're dating, but really bad for each other (like cheat on each other, make the other cry, or something just toxic) and they just can't let each other go. I know it would be kind if impossible because it's THEM, but because it's THEM, and they're obsessed with each other it kinda makes it possible😭
"She's here?!"
"Will you keep your voice down?" Gil attempted to shush Minerva, which of course only made her more upset.
She threw her purse to the ground. "Are you serious right now, Gilgamesh? First, you have some weird moment with Thena behind closed doors seconds before her wedding. Then, you stand and protest the marriage. And then you follow her after she runs off, and I have to find out she's in my home--our home?!"
"It's still my apartment, Minerva," he hissed at her, hand on his hip, solidly blocking the doorway to their bedroom. "You moved in with me, and Thena is my friend. What was I supposed to do, let her go back to that jackass's place alone?!"
"You don't bring the woman you're obsessed with into the apartment you share with your girlfriend!"
She was still in her wedding attire. So was he, suit still on, tie hanging around his neck loosely. "I am not obsessed with Thena."
But she dug her heels in, pointing up in his face. "You are. I should have listened when my friends told me what a red flag it was that you couldn't let go of her, even when she got engaged. I wanted to believe you when you said you weren't in love with her!"
"I never said that."
She reared back as if he'd struck her. "You what?"
"You never asked if I was in love with Thena, you asked if I was cheating on you with her," he clarified, even knowing what he'd get for it. "Which I didn't."
Her slap held nothing back, cracking against his cheek in the otherwise silent apartment.
It stung. "Okay, I deserve that."
"And more," Minerva choked, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Why the hell would you do this? Why did you agree to move in with me? I thought you were going to propose."
He kept his face passive. She didn't want any more lies, and he was tired of lying to her. "I figured 'why not?', that's why."
She stumbled back again. "Was-Was anything you've ever told me in our relationship true?"
"Yes."
"You fucking liar!"
"I'm not lying," he insisted. "I never lied. You asked if I'm obsessed with Thena, I'm not. You asked if I was cheating on you--if I would ever cheat on you with her, and I wouldn't! And Thena would never do that to you either."
"Maybe that's the worst part," she laughed coldly. "Why did she pretend to be my friend all this time?"
"She didn't pretend," he stated so straightforward he was starting to sound like Thena. "She doesn't pretend to like people, I told you. She wasn't lying when she told me she liked you, which you kept insisting was some mean, backhanded lie."
No, instead it was her boyfriend who was lying (according to her). Minerva swiped at her tears, dragging the mascara off her cheeks. "So, you're not cheating on me, you just brought the woman you've loved your entire life home after her failed wedding out of kindness."
Gil sighed. "That's right."
Minerva's tears began anew. Her petite shoulders folded in on themselves, her dark hair tumbling around her in long curls. "You love her."
She deserved this much--the real, whole truth. "Yes."
"You've always loved her," Minerva continued to ask questions he knew she wouldn't like the answers to. "The whole time?"
He stood up straight, dragging his tie off completely. He didn't really like orange, but Minerva insisted they match. "From the first day I met her when we were kids."
"Then why wouldn't you just go be with her?" Minerva demanded, even pointed to the bedroom door where her unseen enemy was lying in wait (according to her).
But he shrugged. He had asked himself these questions for a long time, the answers didn't have any pain left in them. "Because our lives went in different directions. Because we've always been best friends--too good to complicate it. We knew it wouldn't have worked when we were young so why try and break our own hearts?"
It seemed her tears were drying quickly the colder her eyes became. She crossed her arms at him. "So, you've always been in love with her. And you dated me anyway."
"Yes."
"But not everything you told me was a lie?" she scoffed. "And you expect me to believe that?"
"It doesn't matter if you believe it or not." She flinched again, and he did feel bad. He did care for this woman--they had been together for two years. "I never lied to you, Minerva. But don't ask me to choose between you and her."
Because he would choose her. He was choosing her over his girlfriend standing in front of him right now. "I see."
He crossed his arms as well, still planted in front of the door. "I'm not sending her to some hotel. Her brother and Phastos and Ben are probably helping get her stuff out of Eros' place as we speak. Once I know she's safe and has a place to go, you can come and get your stuff."
"That's it?" She was done--the line was cut, the bridge burned and floating down the river.
"Yeah," he also deflated. He didn't think what he was doing was noble by any means. And he deserved every horror story Minerva would tell about her nightmare ex who was always in love with his friend he had told her not to worry about.
Well, she wouldn't have had to if Thena had gotten married. If she had never told him that she couldn't go through with marrying Eros because she had always loved him. She was guilty of that, but he could bear that sin for the both of them.
"Fine," Minerva stated finally, drying the last of her tears.
"I can leave you the apartment, if you want," he added lamely. He really didn't want to.
"Don't offer me your pity," she spat back at him, and he admired her for it. "I don't need a homewrecker's space."
He was a homewrecker, that would stick with him. But he still couldn't bring himself to regret so long as he knew Thena was lying on his bed, crying.
"Go to hell," she hissed at him, picking her purse up and not even bothering to take anything on her way out. "You and your precious Thena."
"Watch it," he grumbled back at her. She could curse his name for generations to come, fine. But he wouldn't let her speak badly of Thena.
That was the last straw, and she slammed the door behind her as hard as she could.
Two years of his life, down the drain. It was a happy relationship, for the most part. She had always excitedly wanted to advance their relationship, take new steps together (like moving in). But looking around the empty apartment, he didn't care. She could come and take the furniture she had picked out that he didn't like, she could take all the stuff on the walls. She could take the stuff that wasn't hers if she wanted. What mattered wasn't out here.
Gil opened the door gently. Thena was sitting up on the bed, a towel around her shoulders and wearing the old shirt he had left out for her to wear. Her wedding dress was lying unceremoniously and disdainfully piled outside the bathroom. "I didn't like that dress either."
Her voice was hoarse as she looked at it. "His mother insisted."
He sat beside her, taking her hand in his, "forget it. Forget her, and her asshole son--never think about them again."
Thena looked at him, turning those big green eyes on him that always made him forget the entire rest of the world around him. Her eyes filled with tears. "She deserves better."
She was talking about Minerva. But he brought her hand up to his lips, "I know."
"She deserves to hate us," she whispered, her lip trembling.
"Probably," he brushed off, focused on pulling her big, ugly, stupid engagement ring off her. She didn't like it anyway--it was just one garishly ugly stone on a tiny band. It was always getting caught on things, always getting turned around on her thin little finger. She hated the attention it drew.
The ring tumbled and rolled as Gil tossed it away.
"I shouldn't have said anything."
"No," he whispered, still kissing each of her fingers. Either way it was true; no, she shouldn't have said anything, but no, he didn't want her to say that now, either.
"We always said we shouldn't do this," she whispered back, crying freely as he weaved their fingers together.
"I know," he conceded as he finally leaned in to kiss her. It was the worst time to do it. They were both crying, it was the worst day of her life, and both of their lives were about to never be the same because of it.
But Thena kissed him back, and they kissed like they had always been doing it. "Why couldn't you tell me earlier not to marry him?"
He laughed, although there wasn't much genuine mirth in it. There wasn't much in her smile, either. "Why couldn't you tell me you loved me sooner?"
She laughed as well, just as sadly. She tilted her head as he swiped her tears away with his thumb. "We're both terrible. We got this wrong, right from the beginning, didn't we?"
"Yeah," he kissed her again, more softly, more sweetly. "But I won't anymore."

I feel like it would be so fucking hilarious (in a non canon way) if, when Elrond Sails and arrives in Aman, he meets up with Gil-Galad again, only to be (metaphorically) slapped in the face with the fact that his old homeboy and king has 3 kids.
And just like Gil-Galad, no one knows where tf they came from
And Gil-Galad refuses to explain in a way that makes any sense
Elrond after meeting the kids for the first time: Ereinion Ereinion: Yes, Elrond?
Elrond: I didn’t know you got married
Ereinion: I didn’t.
Elrond: Those kids called you Atya Erienion: They sure did. Elrond: So who’s Amme?
Erienion: No one.
Elrond: Ah. But they are your kids?
Erienion: Well, they aren’t anyone else’s, that’s for sure.
Elrond: Where did they come from?
Erienion: The place all children come from
Elrond:....They call you Atya
Erienion: Well, they call me Atar when they are cranky or upset with me. But yes.
Elrond:....
Erienion: Anyways, you want tea? The children love lemon and ginger, but I have some peppermint hidden away somewhere.
Elrond: Tea....would be nice.
