So that was how he found himself sitting on the floor of Hermione’s flat attempting to win the affection of an enormous ginger beast. He’d already charmed, cajoled, and begged for the favor of an entire family of gingers. This was beyond the pale.

But Merlin he loved his witch, so he was doing it. She had entrusted him to care for Crookshanks while she was away on business, and he was determined to win him over by the time she got home to celebrate Christmas.

He laid out his offerings: a ball of yarn, a pile of catnip on top of a scratching pad, a jingle toy, and the pièce de résistance: a plate of perfectly baked salmon.

“Crookshanks,” he called, but the cat didn’t move from where Draco could see his eyes glowing beneath the sofa. He sighed. “You know I love her too, I just want her to be happy.”

Crookshanks laid his chin on the floor between his paws.

“Just give me a chance. You have my permission to maul me if I hurt her.”

He tilted his head and then slowly army crawled from beneath the sofa. He grabbed the salmon and quickly retreated.

“I’m glad we have an accord!” Draco called after him.

hi! only recently started watching more historical cdramas and I see a lot of people taking about the rebirth narrative censorship issue? do you know what that’s about? thanks!

Hi, I've only watched 5 Cdramas myself and I don't want to spread any misinformation. From what I've read, the Chinese government banned time travel because they thought it was disrespectful to historical figures. I found several news articles confirming this. As for rebirth, I was told it was because of the possibility of suicide driven by wanting to be reborn, but I cannot find a source for this.

So sorry, I don't know.

I'm on my fourth Woman Married a Loser and Tried Her Best but Died for It and Now She's Back drama (Marry My Husband, Blossom, The Double, Perfect Marriage Revenge) and I love it, I love it, I love it. Because you can feel the feminine rage radiating from the screen. These women swallowed the lie that they were the problem in their marriage. They forgave and excused and bent over backwards just like society told them to and it didn't work. It was never going to work. In the end, nothing they did mattered and their precious lives were still seen as disposable. And now they are back and they are furious and it's great.

But how many families, when an introvert sibling or child makes an effort to socialize,  snarkily say, “So, you’ve decided to join us”?

Or when someone does something they’ve had trouble doing, say, “Why can’t you do that all the time?” (Happened to me, too often.)

Or any sentence containing the word “finally”. 

If someone makes a step, a small step, in a direction you want to encourage, encourage it. Don’t complain about how it’s not enough. Don’t bring up previous stuff. Encourage it.

Because I swear to fucking god there is nothing more soul-killing, more motivation-crushing, than struggling to succeed and finding out that success and failure are both punished.

just thinking about how delulu katniss was for the entire series. bitch would be like "ugh my best friend gale who i kissed but did not enjoy it at all. im sure i will eventually". compared to "ugh peeta is so sweet and perfect and he draws me plants and keeps me calm at night" like girl. who you tryin to gaslight, us or yourself??

This is everything I want and never get! FL figuring it out! She put together his hair, the pulse, his shifty retainers, his manner (where he is so loving and acting on borrowed time and trying to set her free) and just…

It takes so much courage - and I love that they are masked as in their first encounter and the masks allow them to be their truest selves just as back then.

The way he nods no - and that mute nod is a huge thing because it means he let her in, he put his shields down.

My heart! And I love that he is shown maskless because it really is him stopping his pretense.

He is breaking my heart!

And I love that she’s maskless now too! And it is so glorious - her response. He walked through the house seeing the ghosts of his family - as they are all dead or might as well be in terms of relationships. But she is here and she is no ghost but real and can tether him to living.

This is like the perfect punch in the throat to all those noble idiocy dramas and their set up!

This is - no words!!! The way she can bring light to him even in such darkness - the way she can make it a joy. All the truly terrible events of first life happened again for Song Mo this go around - but this time he also is shown he is loved (and how much) and given hope if not of longevity than of happiness.

hot take: gale was never that close with katniss.

their friendship was one of convenience and bonding over shared trauma, but it was never all that personal. sure, they were great hunting partners, but not much else. the second he was involved in anything pertaining to katniss’ life outside of hunting, he would become irrational and angry. even katniss herself narrates that the worst part about losing gale would be «good hunting partners are hard to come by.» he’s like that one coworker who you always spend time with at work, but then that energy doesn’t transfer outside of your shared obligation.

not to mention the hostility toward peeta. and i dont just mean in a «boohoo he’s jealous» kind of way, i mean to the point of offering to unalive him in mj.

do i understand he’s a complex character? yes. i also understand the majority of his anger is misdirected frustration with his circumstances. does that make him a good/close friend? absolutely not.
