gillion and blood (BIG BLOOD TW !!)

blood spills differently underwater. it barely spills rather it clouds the water before being pulled away by the nearest current.

Gillion was used to the sight of blood, he had seen enough over the years. his competitors, his own and those he had been forced to wound.

but when he came to the surface properly, he wasn't prepared for the messiness ? of blood. here, the ocean did not dilute or disperse it, instead, blood stained and dripped and flowed, too warm, too tangible.

when he saw chip’s nose bled it jarred him, the colour was too bright and why wouldnt it just go away. it was nothing however to when he saw jay. she was holding her stomach in pain, trying to staunch a slash from a solider. she was fighting back tears and no matter how hard she tried the blood wouldnt stop. gil had never seen so much blood, surely she couldnt hold much more. it was everywhere and not even his gods given powers could help. oversea blood is just so visceral, the air cant brush it away and the earth simply swallows it. it wouldnt be the last time he would feel blood on the oversea but it stays on his hands, forever trapped his under his nails no matter how much water he entered.

Chip likes to close Gillion’s nose and blow into his mouth because his gills make a weird noise when he does it. Gillion hates it (strongly dislikes it but loves how hard Chip always laughs so he will allow it on occasion)

Now that I’ve got a place to rant about FNC I will not be shutting up bc I love them so so so so much and I’m totally normal about it.

Anyway here are some head cannons I have for them. This list will be expanding.

Gillion can grow a bit of facial hair, it’s pretty slick, almost seal like. While he is not a huge fan of it anyway, he is absolutely forbidden from growing it on the ship. Chip becomes the biggest Damsel in Distress when it gets to any length and can be found either clinging onto Gillion or asking the triton for help doing simple tasks (though it does seem almost involuntary. The few times he has been able to pull himself away from Gillion during this time, as soon as he catches sight again he almost always hurts himself by letting go of a rope or dropping something on his foot)

Gillion is much calmer about their relationship in public, but as soon as it’s just the two of them (or just them and Jay) he becomes allergic to not touching Chip. He will be leaning up against Chip or sitting in his lap, even if it makes it more difficult for either of them to do whatever menial tasks they are trying to do.
