i saw a post the other day that said that gen z/gen alpha say "unalive" and "seggs" and stuff bc they're afraid of being "punished by an invisible force" and while i do think that the self-censoring sometimes unnecessary and worrying, i also don't think they're self-censoring for no reason.

i think there are a lot of situations where talking about suicide/death in general and sex outright would be punished by very real visible forces like parents and teachers and instagram community guidelines. like these kids (i say kids but i know people my age (20) do this, i feel like it's mostly younger genz and genalpha though at least in my experience) aren't just self-policing and self-censoring for no reason. some creators learned to adapt their language to unclear nebulous guidelines to try and avoid their accounts being taken down or their videos being shown to fewer people, then people started assuming any mentions of death or sex would be punished and started doing the same thing, and now younger kids have picked up on it bc they're online a lot and don't know any different.

but that's not the only part of this that matters bc while that is strange and a little dystopian. there are also offline real-life reasons kids would be scared to talk about this shit with actual words. like i was raised very christian, evangelical, not quite fundamentalist, "we don't use labels but we have stage lights for the worship songs but don't wear skirts above the knee" type of thing. my parents didn't teach me about sex until they found out i would have a sex ed class bc they had to sign a permission slip. and then they gave me a book for kids about sex that was heavily christian, abstinence-only, deeply homophobic etc. it didn't teach about birth control, about what things are not normal, any of that. and i was not raised in a way where i was even the slightest bit comfortable asking my parents or talking about it at all. my twin brother got the same book and would talk about sex or make jokes about it and our parents would get upset because it was "inappropriate" and he shouldn't be thinking about that or whatever. and if i had tried to talk about like, menstrual health or signs of abuse or even just made a joke about sex at all my parents would have been upset.

you can probably guess this from what i just said but unsurprisingly my parents weren't big on being upfront about mental health issues either. i have been depressed since before i can remember and was suicidal by the time i was eleven and i had no idea that the way i was feeling wasn't normal or that there was a word for it. i don't remember when i learned about suicide but i know my dad was at least willing to say the word in conversation when i was 12, which my mother wasn't happy about because it was "too dark" a conversation to be having (he had been telling me about a friend he had in college, specifically about how he had recovered from substance abuse issues and suicidal ideation).

and my parents were definitely not normal but there are objectively situations where parents are way worse about this type of thing. there are absolutely kids who aren't allowed to say words like suicide and death and sex. and they're not afraid of algorithms, there are real-life offline consequences if they slip up. so they self-censor, they talk quietly in the lunchroom with codewords and euphemisms with their friends. and that's not even to mention school, and how kids will get in trouble for anything an adult doesn't want them to talk about, how they can get in, again, real-life offline trouble for speaking frankly about this type of thing. because it's "inappropriate," because it's "upsetting," because their teacher is having a bad day, because god said not to, because they don't want their dm to a friend on tiktok to be flagged.

and i would much rather kids talk about these things with sometimes-insensitive code words than to not talk about them at all. if it's a choice between someone coming out as "tr4ns" to their friend and not having someone to support them at all, if it's between saying they want to "unalive" themself and never seeking help, i want them to go the sometimes-silly code word route. because i think they should be allowed to talk about these things and if they're not i think they have the right to try to do it anyway. the unnecessary self-censorship has been criticized to hell and back and i'm not saying it shouldn't be, especially when it's adults saying these things in real life situations. i'm just saying i think kids have a lot more pressure to censor themselves than people think, even offline.

Alpha trion ngl is a little double standard here tho I think in the movie. He truly was the key factor in how events unfolded.

Like his brothers and sister were murdered AND their planet is NOW under slavery as he seen from the gang's appearance so understandably he wants to kill sentinel.

That's why he was silent when Megs was all I WANNA KILL HIM.

He willingly chose to give megs a t-cog giving them all access to WEAPONS to achieve their perceived goal.

Even if they themselves didn't know their potential at the time.

Was that intentional by Alpha?????? I think yess totally. Who's best interest was prioritised tho.

In the beginning, Megs was alpha T's champion. Was this a reluctant decision I dk.

By the end of movie, Meg's DOES kill sentinel. He's achieved Alpha's objective.

But Orion accidentally being collateral gets him in the good graces of Alpha trion???? - becomes prime. If my train of thought is somewhat true, Like Alpha wanted to kill sentinel too, what do you meannn show mercy and you get prize. I can see why Megs would be pissed.

Did Megs feel he was fooled by Alpha?? Being fooled into loosing his best friend. Mabye that why he Soo angry?? Orion fr was too passive.

I wished his dialogue would have been more challenging to D-16's. That would have been great dialogue mabye, we would be able to see the push and pull CLEARLY between them. Their inner turmoils, their inner thoughts - What the stunned silence can't show us. does show how they feel but for the audience we don't benefit much other then seeing this as an OH shit Moment.

At the end of things, Alpha is winning out. Alpha is getting his main goal achieved, getting the trash out (sentinel) so his people can deal with the Quints (the bigger problem) instead.

What I'm trying to ask is How MUCH did Alpha know about the events of past and future in this universe. - as a prime he has powers but to what extent. Did he have his covenant???

Now Orion is his champion going into the future.

This brings into question their planetary war-like culture.

Alpha is no stranger to death and violence. As, it is already implied that the primes of old were battle trained. Their main way of dealing with things is through conflict. They are at war with the Quints.

Alpha saw them as a means to the end, it's just unfortunate that they will eventually bring the planet that alpha entrusted to them to ruins.

With the first gen of TFs being like that, does that mean that all other TFs that emerge from vector sigma or however their sparks are ignited later were made to have battle protocols inbedded to their programming????

Cause my one gripe with the movie is kinda they blurred the lines of violence.

I was like wth they suddenly have black belts in combat??????? SINCE when did they learn???

Self defense, okay... But still a weak answer.

Bee and elita have literally killed/ SHOT mech's DEAD. Orion has bashed the heads in of multiple officers or high guard. And yet he was like noooooo don't kill sentinel.

It just seemed very shallow. Like killing lowly henchmen is OKaY but now it comes to a figurehead and be like NOoOOOOO don kill.

I don think Orion had a chance to clearly understand or see what Sentinel had physically done to Megs. (That permanent scar)

When I watched to movie, I was sooo confused honestly about the whiplash turnaround between them.

I love dark humor but HH is very lacking about expect the pilot for example the jolke about angel insults vaggie who asks if he is trying to be rasist oe sexist and he tells which make her more mad. Only joke I like in series it is when nifty told about how she torture insects and nobody catch her because they are too afraid.

The comparation between hh heaven and P&S one is beacuse the main character act rude and sinful but big point they are been kicked out ! Heaven don't approve but in same time there is episode where a demon ascend , so P&S heaven is good place.

The funny thing i don't consider HH!heaven corropt sure they made extemination, in secret so we don't know what all population thinking about, and without extremination sinners would be dangerous because Hell is just amusement park for evil, imp company make their money killing humans by commision from sinners, if they could they do themselcves. Hell is full of worst , for examople when vaggie was suppost to be protitue for me, that heaven was corropt because prostitue should be hold accontoble like pimp, serial killer, gangster

I like dark / general fuck up humor too. For example, the life lesson parody channel Tomorrow's Teachings. That channel has made me laugh out of loud so many times due to how absurd the plots are. I do not like every joke made in those videos though and they can cross into tasteless or too fucked up if you know about that channel's history.

For a show set in Hell, Hazbin is lacking in the dark humor category. The only joke that got a giggle out of me was in episode one when Niffty freezes up when the camera is on her and I like how it comes back at the end of episode eight. I like to me a good call back.

This show never made me laugh. I found those Gen Alpha parody songs that were made when the show was released to be funny. So many of them live in my head rent free. Also, I have watched this voice over parody more than the actual show. Makes me laugh every time, it is so stupid. /lh

Back on topic, I wish the show had more character-based humor and maybe dry/deadpan humor. There are many forms of humor. Focusing on just on one type can make your show dull.

I wonder what the reaction would be if the exterminations are revealed to Winners. Will they be against it, for it, or neutral. This is probably will be explore when Molly [Angel's twin sister] gets introduce. Like would she care that there is a chance that her brothers and father will be killed by angels? It is also a headscratcher that she is in Heaven. She is a spider like the rest of her family, meaning she had a part in crimes her father or brothers committed. We just have to put a pin in that until Season 2.

Papa Elect Terzo tried to look busy. He attempted a regal sigh, a pace. Killed time with what he hoped was a thoughtful, intelligent stare out his office window. He did everything possible to bide time while he collected his thoughts in a way that would hide his true intentions.

This was all about Omega.

He had called Cardinal Marian, Sister Imperator’s Personal Assistant not due to any sort of friendship or confidence. His brother Papa Emeritus Secondo barely considered him as human these days and with his wedding a week away he had bigger things to fuss about.

Terzo’s other two ghouls Earth and Alpha could not be trusted to answer honestly. And Brother Copia was, well…Copia.

So then that left Marian.

She was obligated by her job description to interact with him as he needed. For business purposes, of course.

And buying the right birthday present for Omega Ghoul was definitely a high stakes business venture as far as Papa Elect Terzo was concerned.

“Thank you for your time,” Terzo said, pressing his hands together and slightly bowing.

“Hey, anything to give me a break from planning my ex-partners’ wedding,” she replied with an indifferent shrug, although her eyes looked bleary. “How yinz doing on musical entertainment for that, by the way?”

“I have a few choir selections, and I have been working with Papa’s ghouls and my own on some light entertainment during the dinner. Copia has been fussing with finding the right wedding march on the organ for about six weeks now.” And Terzo had been locking his office doors to keep Copia from talking his ear off about it for about six weeks as well. “So…all coming together.”

“Great. Want to be perfect. For them.” She didn't sound too enthused. "But don't worry, I'm completely fine about it." Marian froze, then patted her sides. “Mind if I smoke?”

“Please don't, it gets into the curtains,” said Terzo.

Marian slumped in her chair slightly. “Ok, now you have to tell me the real reason I’m here.”

Terzo closed his eyes and collected himself. “I need some help picking out a gift. For a friend. I'm having trouble,” he said.

“Don’t you give people shit all the time? Flowers, erotic notes, pornographic photography, whatever…” Marian raised an eyebrow. “People talk. In the Dining Hall. A lot.”

Terzo winced and then gave her a defeated shrug. “This is em…different.”

At that Marian’s face immediately switched into a wicked grin. She leaned forward on his desk, hand on her chin with such force her biretta hat went crooked. “Why? Why is it different, huh?”

“Because…” And then Terzo threw her a haughty scowl. “I don’t need to tell you. You work for me, sorella. This is a business meeting. A consulation.”

“Fine, suit yourself.” She glanced at the clock. “But If I’m your employee you’ve got like ten minutes to spit it out before I leave for the day. So…what is it?”

“Omega…is an important friend to me. I want a gift that is��worthy of him.” Terzo started to pace again. “Something that is special, but ghouls are difficult to shop for! They don’t need to eat, or drink. Omega doesn’t seem to want to visit anywhere or do anything beyond whatever I want to do…”

“Well, isn’t he…basically you?”

“Yes but also, no.”

“And you’re psychically linked, right?” Marian thoughtlessly played with her pen, clicking it idly. “So, even if you wanted it to be a surprise, he’d already sort of know about it.”

“Cazzo, you see now why this would be so difficult?!”

Marian shrugged. “It’s the thought that counts, at the end of the day.”

“I know that,” Terzo snapped. It was definitely the thought that counted.

Except, he had never truly sincerely thought about someone else when giving a gift before. And that is what made his hands clammy and his mind race.

Terzo decided he needed to gift something really important. Something that reflected how much his heart pounded when Omega held him. Something that was big, essential, eternal. Just like his ghoul.

“A…a diamond! Yes.”

Marian smirked. “A diamond? For your very best friend?”

“Yes…” Terzo began weakly, but then remembered Marian's status as his minion. He frowned into her. “Yes, a diamond.”

“Whatever,” she replied, then opened her steno pad. “Although you know purchases over a certain amount I got to run through Treasury Director Brother Copia.”

“Then forget the diamond,” Terzo backpedaled.

Marian checked the clock on the wall again and snapped her notepad shut. “Ok, fine I've dated quite a few guitarists over the years and they like practical stuff. Like, for their instrument. How about um…a guitar strap, huh?”

“How about a guitar strap?” suggested Terzo.

Marian frowned. “What's his favorite color?”

“Erm—black.”

“Second favorite color?” Marian sighed.

“Violet, he likes violet!”

“Violet and black guitar strap, coming right up,” Marian intoned. “And look, you got ninety more seconds until I go home, is there anything else you need, your Eminence?”

“No, that would be all.” Terzo returned to staring out the window with an extra dramatic flourish of his black cardinal cassock. He took a breath, feeling his nerves start to settle as he heard the squeak of Cardinal Marian's chair as she exited. All of a sudden he had a thought. "Oh, and Marian?"

"Twenty seconds left, your Eminence." Marian's hand was already on the doorknob.

"You're certain he'll like that?"

Marian's brow furrowed, but then it seemed like a thought passed through her, and her expression softened. "Of course," she said, "Who wouldn't like a gift?"

And since I'm gen z and my brother is gen alpha, wonder how the old Volturi would handle an entire coven of pure gen z and gen alpha? Could they even handle a conversation or would they sit there and have to decipher slang first? I think Caius would just walk out and be like 'nope, not with me' and Aro would smile through it. Good day Anonymous, and thank you so much for your question and compliments despite not always agreeing with my takes. But is that not the joy of fandom? We all have our own creative ideas and that is beautiful to me.

I do believe there would be one communal thought rippling through every single one of them; where are the adults? Previously I have discussed how vampires tend to think of the first 100 years as a kind of adolescence for the undead. Seeing as though these newborns are all Gen Z and Alpha that means the oldest of these vampires were turned when they were not even 30 and all the way down to around the 13 year old mark.

All of these vampires are fresh out of vampiric infancy and The Volturi would certainly wonder how no one has broken any laws yet without the help of an elder vampire. Some of them would cope better than others when it comes to interacting with the coven.

I think Caius would have little patience if the vampires in question would be disrespectful, but other then that he would treat it as a serious matter and try his best.

It would probably be for the best to send in Corin, Santiago and Felix to scope out the situation. The first two keep up with the times and might understand the slang, while Felix is that likeable monolith that hopefully will calm the situation. Aro might also get involved to absorb some fresh knowledge, that alone would help bridging a gap between the very different generations meeting.

Alright, so I was talking to my older brother today. Now, my brother is like one of those gen alpha middle & high school popular kids, so he knows about all the trends that honestly just find STUPID. Anyway, there was one that I didn't understand and I wanted some elaboration on. I asked him what the hell mewing was just so I could ease my curiosity because I'm an inquisitive thing. Anyway, I learned that it, like, sharpens your jawline or something if you do it five minutes a day? Pretty much, it makes you look more masculine. Why am I bringing this up? Well, it's because for any trans dudes out there, here's probably the easiest way to look more masculine when it comes to facial features. As a trans LADY, I never tried it, so I wouldn't know how long it takes or how effective it is. So please don't start asking me.

Anyway, I hope this helps out all of you transmasculines!

Audio Book Production

I have been trying to work with this guy and he started saying he was sick a few weeks ago.

Right after I asked for a certain thing to change with the way he reads, (ie. pauses in the wrong places, inflections on the right words)

I listened back to some of the clips he's sent me and I started noticing a lot of the signs they say to look for when trying to figure out if someone is using AI for their voice, and I guess the reason he says he's sick is because he can't get his AI program to do what I want it to do.

He was supposed to have finished sending me the recorded book by oct 31, (it is now Nov 12)

Like he literally signed the contract, and now, for the past few days he hasn't been responding to any of my messages. So it's sus. And I'm 99% positive he's using AI. I went to his page where he advises himself and each sample audio he has provided sounds different, he's not consistent and I'm just upset.

so I asked my younger siblings to help me write the email I would send him in order to fire him. I want him to feel like he's been called out by a child, so I asked them to use all the Gen-Alpha slang they could think of. Here is the result.

the way people are treating gen alpha is actually making me want to vomit. why the fuck do people find it 'funny' that 9 year olds are putting on makeup?? why are people trashing literal children for things they were heavily influenced on?? it's not their fault at all. there's barely any child-friendly things for them to do today. "when I was 9 I used to go to claires, look at these spoiled brats going to sephora!!!" my brother in christ. these are small girls influenced by the beauty industry at a terrifying age. and facing parental neglect. I don't see enough people blaming the parents for not teaching their child how to regulate their emotions when they needed it and just shoving an ipad in their face. I also don't see enough people talking about how their increasing internet addictions and short attention spans are a direct result of capitalism

As a member of Gen Z I have something I would like to say, which is a lot more serious I feel like than a lot of the things I reblog or post or whatever. But it's something that I feel like needs to be talked about, which is the mockery of Gen Alpha for rudeness and ignoring social rules and politeness and all that. And so I am going to attempt to explain my thoughts in a way that other people can understand which can be hard for me if the thought has already formed in my head and isn't spontaneous as I type. So bear with me.

So like many people I am on Instagram and Twitter and all that and I see a lot of videos and posts and everything about the "brattiness" of Gen Alpha kids and how they're rude and unsocialised. And lots of these people, calling these twelve year old children out for these issues, have placed their finger exactly on the real problem, though I don't think they really have processed that. If they did they wouldn't be making fun of it.

The reality is that these children who at this point are now twelve years old and beginning to interact with the world in a meaningful way, are the first generation of kids who were fully raised with high speed and stronger technology. These are the iPad kids in the wild. Like, even me and my younger brother who are on the lower end of Gen Z were born at a time when the Internet was in its MySpace and maybe early years of Facebook era. Nobody was giving these things to children just because they were still always considered new. New and constantly changing. But now we have the kids who were born in the twenty teens, when technology was a fact of life and yes a handy way to distract small kids. What's more, nobody was aware of the harm screen's like IPad and phone screens can do to a brain in its very important early stages of development.

So here are these kids now, entering the world. And their entire life they've had a archive of information and other people and things to do literally at their fingertips. Since birth even! And these technologies have interfered with their brain development right smack dab in the crucial years where kids learn about language and social interactions and how the bloody world works. But they learned it looking through or around the skewed filter of a phone screen. So here was the first stage of messed up brain development where they learned that the world works the way it does on chatrooms and in movies and tv shows, where people speak to eachother the way they do online, where their brain is always stimulated by something new just a few taps away. I mean, they learned this skewed version of the world as toddlers! This, for lack of a better description, human code has been embedded at the very base of their brain and everything else that comes after is just building off of that.

Then a few years later comes the pandemic. The big bad pandemic that ruined lives and fucked everyone over, especially the people who were still developing. And suddenly the order of the world has changed and their brains are developing around that strange new order. And this causes them to miss milestones in their brain development.

They're not in a classroom anymore. They can't connect with friends. They can't physically connect with people outside their bubble, in any way. No roughhousing on the playground, no visiting parks to swing around in. Their class is squares on a screen, and if they want to say something without other people hearing there's always the mute button. My point is that already limited social interaction (something essential in reaching many milestones in neural development and learning how to interact with the world) has just dropped to almost zero. Now EVERYTHING is filtered through a screen. Right smack dab in the most developmentally important years of these kids lives.

Even people my age have missed milestones! People in Grade 9 and 10 were far too grabby and overactive because we missed the developmental period where we learned how much touching is too much touching, characterized by people wrestling eachother and poking eachother excessively. AKA middle school boys. Yes, that is an essential part of development. And we missed that because of the pandemic.

So these kids' already fucked up neural pathways get wired in all the wrong ways. And we're surprised when they do not have the capacity to behave as a functioning human beings!?

Yes they are being rude. Yes they are being gross and unnecessarily mean. No I am not excusing them (or their parents) for that. But these poor human beings have the wrong base code! Their brains were built wrong, in the wrong way and the wrong order and to the wrong extents! Maybe, instead of making fun of and putting these literal children down for something they can't help (aka their literal brain development), maybe we should be putting effort into explaining why this is happening and Finding A Way To Fix It. AT THE SOURCE! Inform new parents about neural development and natural milestones. Explain why screen's are not good for literal babies. Educate, educate, educate.

And maybe we can save the disaster that is becoming the human race.
