In the last minicanon I wrote concerning Dain's kill count, I mentioned that it's composed mainly of Abyss Order members. I think that this should be pretty obvious by now (specially after Requiem of the Echoing Depths), but I didn't mention that he doesn't take pleasure for killing them— it's more a matter of I have no choice.

So to elaborate on this, let's go back to Khaenri'ah. As in all places, there are good people like Halfdan + the Schwanenritter (those who fought in Sumeru to defend it from the Black Cataclysm in Ruin Golems) and people who were obsessed with creating ruin machines via biomimesis so that one day they replace the creatures they were inspired by. We can also see this obsession in abyss woofies descriptions and another striking case is Susbedo and his drive to replace Albedo, but also the fact that he can create others like himself to replace others like it was implied with that kiddie's father who went missing and appeared in the last moment of the event.

Moreover, among these people that are obsessed there are those who are following King Irmin's madness and dreams to engulf everything in darkness which is later on reflected on the Abyss Order we know (I'll return to this later). And finally, we don't know about other nations but Enkanomiya saw Khaenri'ah with bad eyes and the latter was being pretty hostile in the envoys' attempt to retrieve the Before Sun and Moon book. This last thing happened 500 + at least 2,000 years ago, which is pretty telling of how long this obsession for knowledge of the past and the creation of ruin machines lasted, if not more.

In a kind of secret Aranara-related quest, we're told by one of them that the Abyss Order wants Marana to return. There is also known through various of its members' descriptions that they dislike those who don't know the truth (aka what happened / what's happening mainly with Celestia). By seeking this poisonous Marana and by wishing to engulf everything in darkness as King Irmin wanted, these are people turned into monsters that would destroy the whole world and damn innocent people whose only sins in the eyes of these "people" are 1) not knowing the truth (how would they when Celestia is out there after people's heads if you let the cat out of the bag) and 2) for being born and living in a nation ruled / protected by an Archon.

Some of these obsessions were already seen back in the day when Khaenri'ah had yet to be destroyed and the last Regent wanted to do something about it to fix the kingdom (which unfortunately he couldn't), Dain as the Twilight Sword most likely knew about this too. He isn't going against the Abyss Order for nothing and sadly for him, he doesn't have any other choice than putting an end to each one of them in order to stop them. Perhaps there is an underlying personal reasoning for this, which may be to not see other innocent people end up like that at the hand of the Abyss Order this time. But one thing remains true and it's the fact that Dain is looking for the good of others who may suffer the consequences of the Abyss Order's actions if someone doesn't put a stop to them.

they want to talk about mental illness and acceptance and how everyone is a little ocd it's cute and quirky and their "intrusive thoughts" are about cutting their hair off and you say yours are about taking a razorblade to your eye and they say ew can you not and everyone is a little adhd sometimes! except if you're late it's a personality flaw and it's because you are careless and cruel (and someone else with adhd mentions they can be on time, so why can't you?) and it's not an eating disorder if it's girl dinner! it's not mania if it's girl math! what do you mean you blew all of your savings on nonrefundable plane tickets for a plane you didn't even end up taking. what do you mean that you are afraid of eating. get over it. they roll their little lips up into a sneer. can you not, like, trauma dump?

they love it on them they like to wear pieces of your suffering like jewels so that it hangs off their tongue in rapiers. they are allowed to arm-chair diagnose and cherrypick their poisons but you can't ever miss too many showers because that's, like, "fuckken gross?" so anyone mean is a narcissist. so anyone with visual tics is clearly faking it and is so cringe. but they get to scream and hit customer service employees because well, i got overwhelmed.

you keep seeing these posts about how people pleasers are "inherently manipulative" and how it's totally unfair behavior. but you are a people pleaser, you have an ingrained fawn response. in the comments, you have typed and deleted the words just because it is technically true does not make it an empathetic or kind reading of the reaction about one million times. it is technically accurate, after all. you think of catholic guilt, how sometimes you feel bad when doing a good deed because the sense of pride you get from acting kind - that pride is a sin. the word "manipulation" is not without bias or stigma attached to it. many people with the fawn response are direct victims of someone who was malignantly manipulative. calling the victims manipulative too is an unfair and unkind reading of the situation. it would be better and more empathetic to say it is safety-seeking or connection-seeking behavior. yes, it can be toxic. no, in general it is not intended to be toxic. there is no reason to make mentally ill people feel worse for what we undergo.

you type why is everyone so quick to turn on someone showing clear signs of trauma but you already know the fucking answer, so what's the point of bothering. you kind of hate those this is what anxiety looks like! infographics because at this point you're so good at white-knuckling through a severe panic attack that people just think you're stoic. even people who know the situation sometimes comment you just don't seem depressed. and you're not a 9 year old white kid so there's no way you're on the spectrum, you're not obsessed with trains and you were never a good mathematician. okay then.

mental illness is trending. in 2012 tumblr said don't romanticize our symptoms but to be fair tiktok didn't exist yet. there's these series of videos where someone pretends to be "the most boring person on earth" and is just being a normal fucking person, which makes your skin crawl, because that probably means you are boring. your friend reads aloud a profile from tinder - no depressed bitches i fucking hate that mental illness crap. your father says that medication never actually works.

you still haven't told your grandmother that you're in therapy. despite everything (and the fact it's helping): you just don't want her to see you differently.

ive been cooking up an rw anthro(?) au and i decided to work on arti first since she is a favorite of mine and i have her general storyline and stuff below the cut if you wanna read it lol

i have plans for the others soon

the general gist of this au is that slugcats and scavengers have small settlements, typically just called colonies or villages, that have loose connections

both slugcats and scavengers typically live in multigenerational homes, containing many different families in one shelter

major colonies or cities are usually settled on top of or around iterators, with those colonies taking up the ancients' housing

the timelines also are a lot more compressed with all the base game and downpour slugcats co-existing within close time frame, but still follows spearmaster > arti > hunter > gourmand > etc...

basically arti's story is that after the deaths of her pups, she goes mad from grief and vows to kill anyone who she deems responsible for taking away her pups (and those who get in her way)

she makes her way to five pebbles and eventually metropolis where she has her long-awaited confrontation with the scavenger king, expecting closure that never came

once it was done, she was left with nothing but misery and uncontrollable rage, and unwilling to leave, she became the next chieftain, of whatever was left of the scavengers in metropolis, making them do her bidding

tho over time her anger became mere embers, leaving her tired and miserable and five pebbles increasingly impatient with her

she is forced out of metropolis and leaves five pebbles facility grounds after hunter fights her on behalf of five pebbles along his journey to help moon, where shes going and for what reason is left up for debate (like literally i don't know where shes going and/or for what reason)

dont mind my horrid writing lol i barely write anything, still ironing out what i want and what i don't want so a lot of this is still up for change, but i think honestly this is a good writing and drawing exercise for me

hej szefie nowe oce templatki. to elaborate more both of them "stick to type" because Rybas "type" is everyone if he convinces himself hard enough and Przemek has only ever liked Ryba and described Ryba as his type. That being said when it comes to dating not just crushes Ryba would not be able to date anyone who isnt as obsessed about him as he is about them because it would make him feel sad and a bit like a freak (which he doesnt believe his is one but the directors board isnt so sure). Ryba isn't obvious about his feelings because he acts like that to everyone but Przemek is (which he is unaware of) because hes a bit lame like that and also looks like he could get the spasms and die at any moment. Przemeks dream scenario is something he is deeply ashamed of and wouldnt even reveal on his deathbed but Ryba is actively trying to get him to disappear with him (impossible task instead hes microdosing on 2 day long trips to the lake). Despite his obsessive nature Ryba doesnt really get jealous because hes already in the centre of Przemeks attention but Przemek does mostly out of his low self esteem especially compared to how cool Ryba is in his head (and also in real life). templates made by kitsypark

Percy who creates hurricanes complete with lightning that pummel titans and flooding and whirlpools that can trap god-powered crocodile kaijus. Earthquakes that erupt volcanoes. Hazel who sunk an entire small island entirely on her own with her final breath, against giants and a primordial goddess of the earth.

If Nico dramatically wilts plants and cracks the ground when he's mildly stressed, and disintegrates enemies down to their skeletons with a single touch or rips their souls out of their still-living bodies, and can command armies of the undead, what happens if he tries to cause destruction? Even outside of total zombie apocalypse or insta-killing a crowd, he's shown enough geokinesis to absolutely be capable of the same destruction Percy and Hazel can manifest.

What about Jason? He can control the winds and storms. There's no way he can't create the most destructive tornadoes with casual effort that he can never justify using for the collateral damage they'd cause. With a single thought he can rip up a town and launch the remnants 50 miles out. (Jason in the center of a Dead Man Walking tornado, vortexes responding to his movements like an avatar...)

And what can anyone do to combat it? How can you fight the wind lifting everything you know and love into the sky, or floods sweeping you away, or the ground giving way beneath you? The Big 3 kids are scary because they are forces of nature, and their whims are the only thing preventing you from witnessing that at any given moment.
