Dia De Los Muertos Celebration!

Today is Day of the Dead. Traditionally a time of remembrance, it is when friends and family pay their respects to those who have passed on to the other side.

In our Declaration of Principles, We believe that communication with the so-called dead, is a fact, scientifically proven by the phenomenon of Spiritualism.

Come to our church and get your spirit greeting to demonstrate the continuity of life thus providing comfort in your times of grief. While a medium communicates with your dearly departed loved ones that have transcended the veil, you may be surprised at the information given to you that only you would know and understand!

We are open to the public. Our Sunday service begins at 11 AM beginning with our healing service. We conclude our service with messages from spirit after our sermon. Refreshments are available after service to all who attend!

今日の東京は雨模様。先日６日振りに帰宅したのですが、留守中の水やりや餌やりを万全にしたので、ベランダのバラもメダカも元気な様子で出迎えてくれてホッとしました。

今回の旅行は過去１番の波乱含みとなりました。土曜日の出発便が強風のために欠航となってしまったのです。風が止んだらあとは飛ぶだけ、という状態で機内にて延々と約６時間待たされた後、機長からキャンセルのアナウンスが。機内を出てさっき出国手続きをしたばかりなのに入国手続きをして、チェックインしたスーツケースを受け取るためにひたすら待ちます。やっと税関を抜けたと思ったら、仮設された航空会社のデスクで説明を聞く人の長蛇の列が待っていました。航空会社の説明によると、振替便が２日後の月曜日にしかないとのこと。仕方がないのでホテルに２泊することになったのですが、午後４時以降の全ての便が欠航となり、おまけに終電時間も過ぎていたため、空港から徒歩圏内のホテルには空室が見つかりません。なんとか２駅先に部屋を確保し、気が遠くなるくらい長いタクシー待ちの列に並び、ようやく到着したホテルのベッドに倒れ込んだ時には午前４時を回っていました。日本を訪れていた観光客にとっては２日分のボーナスだったかもしれませんが、私たちにとっては元々短かった旅程がさらに減り、現地で過ごすのが３泊だけのとんぼ返りとなってしまいました。でも、それには理由があったようです。日曜日に家族全員でお墓参りをする予定だったのが、私たちの旅程がずれ込んだせいで月曜日に延期され、ちょうどその日が光の世界へ旅立ったばかりの家族の月命日だったのです。皆で「きっと、この日に家族全員が集まるように仕向けられたんだね。」と納得しました。日本の墓地とは違って、故人を訪れに来た人が墓碑の隣の広々とした芝生の上でのんびりピクニックを楽しんでいるのも印象的でした。コロナ禍で約３年振りとなった家族との再会にはちょっと短かすぎるスケジュー��でしたが、同行者の体調���イマイチだったし、可能な限り本屋やお気に入りの店を回ってクラスの実習で使えそうなカードやスピリチュアル関連の本を見つけることができたので、これでよかったんだと思います。

今日から夏学期がスタートしました！今日のトランスクラスでもインナージャーニークラスでも、生徒の皆さまが個性的できれいな光を見せてくださいました。今学期も参加者の皆さまの光に触れ、光によって共に癒し合い、光に溢れた楽しい時間を一緒に過ごしたいと思います。

夏学期クラス（5月〜7月）へのお申し込み受付中です。今学期から新しく『サンスクリット般若心経クラス』が始まります。インド・チベット密教で現在も唱えられている、サンスクリット語での般若心経を学ぶクラスです。５回に分けてゆっくりと発音を確認しながら学んでいただけるので、マントラやサンスクリット語が初めての方でも安心してご参加ください。日本語の般若心経との違いを比べてみるのも楽しいと思います。また、トランスクラスも水曜日クラスが新たに加わります。

“Harrington, are you fucking kidding me?” Eddie asks as he slams a magazine down in front of Steve, rattling the coffee cup perched on the edge of the little round table.

Monsoon Season, the headline reads. Just who is the man behind America’s hottest new book series?

Steve’s eyes are far too full of mirth for Eddie’s liking. “They think it’s you, don’t they?”

“Of course they think it’s me, you jackass.” Eddie snatches the magazine back, sniffing indignantly as Steve openly laughs at him.

Eddie doesn’t have a workplace nemesis — does his best not to participate in all the petty office politics that go on in the publishing world, thank you very much — but ohhh, boy. If he did. If he did have one, it would be this fucking guy.

Steve fucking Harrington. Former King of Hawkins High, Current Pain in Eddie’s Ass, and not even in the fun way.

See, three years ago Eddie finally got his first big break — topped charts, stole hearts, and broke records with his swashbuckling adventure series aimed at the 10-13 year old crowd. He hadn’t ever really planned to become a children’s author, but hey, turns out he’s great at spinning a tale that a fifth grader can’t put down. Kids love him, parents love him, and now—

Well, now, parents hate him. Are two seconds away from calling for his fucking head. And that’s the whole problem, isn’t it?

One group of ravenous mommy blogger watchdogs becomes unwaveringly convinced that beloved children’s author Eddie Munson is secretly writing filthy gay erotica under the pen name Freddie Monsoon, and now his whole career is in jeopardy.

It’s not even a good pen name.

“A source close to Munson assures us this scorching erotica can’t be his doing,” the article in Eddie’s claw-like grip reads. “‘He’s stupid,’ our source tells us with a bright laugh and a wink, ‘but not that stupid.’”

You know who is that fucking stupid, though?

“You’re still here?” Steve asks mildly while Eddie glares some more.

He knows the pen name belongs to Steve, because one, Chrissy’s a gossip and told him the second she found out, and two, King Shithead himself told Eddie to his face. Gloated about it in this very coffee shop, actually; smirked over the lip of a chai latte while angry mothers protested with homemade signs on the sidewalk outside of the building.

“Yes, I’m still here! Why the hell are you doing this to me, man?”

Does he know how many angry emails Eddie’s gotten in the last hour alone? Seriously, what the fuck?

Steve slides another glance his way — sideways through hooded lids, some sadistic delight gleaming just below the veneer. “Because I like it when you’re flustered,” he smirks, and then he stands to collect his things. “See you tomorrow, Munson.”

古代から常に死後の世界に関する疑問はありましたが、19世紀になると人々は新しい科学的な最先端技術や道具を使って霊界を調査し、霊界と繋がるための新しい方法を発見しました。また、それらの新しい技術や道具の中には、それ自体が超自然的なものだと感じられるものがあったことにも一因があります。

つまり、19世紀には無線通信、電信や蓄音機の発明によって、私たちは想像を絶する距離間での会話が可能になり、大海原を越えた場所から瞬時に通信することができ、さらには人間の声を録音し、本人の死後もその声を聴く事ができるようになりましたが、それら科学技術以外のことも同時に起こっていたのです。霊との対話が可能かどうかを調査、研究していたのは、いわゆる『変わった人たち』だけではなく、その多くが科学者だったのです。

i really really really love the idea of wei wuxian revolutionizing modern cultivation over breakfast and conceptualizing these different theories simultaneously because the adhd brain has no brakes and the only reason it took him a decade to publish all these ideas was because he could not stick to a single train of thought long enough to finish (verbalizing) it, let alone put it down on paper coherently.

the only reason he even got to publishing them eventually (and enrolling to cultivation theory grad program to get on that track) was because one morning, his undergrad thesis advisor, lan qiren, finally got fed up and sat him down for an early morning progress check-in because it was midterm season and wei wuxian still hadn't decided on a topic.

wei wuxian, fueled by an unhealthy amount of redbull and three all-nighters, finally word vomits all his 'convoluted' ideas which he'd thought were uselessly obvious and redundant (because he's gone over these like a bajillion times, it's very plain-as-day to him, so he probably just hasn't read the articles that say these exact things).

lan qiren, teacup frozen halfway to his mouth: ...first of all, i only understood half of how you got to these conclusions, which only means they are indeed too convoluted and will need to be pared down; secondly: you have never mentioned any of these ideas before. why.

wei wuxian: oh. haven't i? oh well, i just thought, xyz, because, obviously, abcde. which is really what the 2 centuries old law on ghjkl was alluding to, right? and so, logically, xyz.

lan qiren: [mind blown, screaming, good gods this is the same child who's always tardy and spent freshman year pulling on the metaphorical pigtails of my straight-laced nephew?!?!??!??!?!] ..again, why...how have you never even spoken or submitted these ideas?

wei wuxian: because!!! they're so obvious!! surely, it's been published somewhere already? i can't be the only one to connect these dots, surely??

lan qiren: incredibly, you are. no one else has even thought to question tradition nor pursued more thoughts on the law of ghjkl, with half as much...sound arguments as you seem to have. in the past century, the focus of modern cultivation has tended towards practical uses and tools, some fine-tuning, perhaps. not entirely new theories.

wei wuxian: huh....

lan qiren, sighing, feeling a migraine: your problem with your thesis is not a lack of focus or ingenuity, but likely to be more a lack of recent, evidentiary sources. you will need to become very familiar with the university archives and dig deep for sources that will back up every argument you make.

he jots down notes on a paper. "you will also need to strictly adhere to the structure and methodology of these articles, especially given how radical your thesis will be. if you are diligent enough, you may just be able to submit your thesis without too much of a delay." he slides the list of materials to a gaping wei wuxian. "depending on your output then, we can discuss the possibility of submitting this for peer review."

"peer review." wei wuxian repeats. "as in, that thing where some uppity committee of old coots put their stamp of approval for it to become the reading materials of undergrads like me. you're joking."

lan qiren chooses to ignore the sentiment about peer review committees being uppity old coots, especially considering how he can't completely deny it on account of some of his colleagues, but also as a member said peer review committee, he isn't exactly pleased about being lumped in the same category.

wei wuxian backtracks at his unamused look. "right, you're not joking, of course you're not." he slowly inches the list towards himself. "right, yes, i guess i'll uh, get to it then. ok bye."

Very cute modern with cultivation AU in which Wei Wuxian has no filter, but it works out for him in the end! I really loved how the exchange of qi was described, I could almost feel it myself! Excerpt: Wei Ying had never really thought about how nice Lan Zhan’s forearms looked before. Maybe that was because he wasn’t sure he’d even seen them before now, when Lan Zhan neatly rolled up the sleeves of his soft-looking cardigan to reveal smooth skin stretched across firm muscles. Should forearms look so mouth-watering that all you wanted to do was sink your teeth into them? Wei Ying had no idea, and he was not going to ask Lan Zhan, either. Not when Wei Ying had managed to get Lan Zhan to agree to experiment with him. Wei Ying didn’t want to risk scaring Lan Zhan away now.
