👀Bit of an update on nutrition and training 💪 🗓 After a festive hiatus and a lockdown 3 sulk on maintenance......I'm a couple of weeks into the 8week @rpstrength app shred, my adherence is good right now, I've found it easy to fall back into the eating habits I had last summer and pre-Christmas. 💪 on Friday's, we flex 💪 ▫️ 👀 11 weeks down and one to go!! ✂️Final week of my cut and I'm pretty happy about where I'm at physically and mentally 😬 ▫️ 🧠 I'm going to put something in my story about my @rpstrength diet experiences over the last 3months. But safe to say I'm very happy and impressed with the results. As ever a good diet and nutrition plan are only as effective as adherence allows, but I'll discuss that in another post. ▫️ 🏋️‍♀️ I'm still getting within 90% of my max lifts in training, my gymnastic ability has gone through the roof, my engine is purring like a kitten and I'm coming into the test phase for a back squat strength cycle. 😶Excuse the sweaty bare face, I'll be honest, I've pretty much given up wearing any form of makeup(not that I wore much anyway) so you'll just have to get used to it 🤷‍♀️ No filter, as is, natural state 🙈 ▫️ 🦵 Oh the quad burn was so real after the metcon, see the end of the video. 🤔What is she doing now??🤷‍♀️ ▫️ 👀 Got any hip flexors mate?! I do not after this little finisher!!🤣 ▫️ 🤸‍♀️ Im no gymnast and this is VERY gymnastic-y, but with great cross-over benefits for anything requiring lower abdominal strength and hip-snap. So leg lifts, hollow body, toes-to-bar, Olympic lifting handstand control, skin the cat, back lever....etc.. If you're looking for those action man hips (definition in your lower abs/obliques, or inguinal crease if we're being fancy🤷‍♀️) this will switch all the right things on! 🙌💪 ▫️ 💪 The further away the hands are from the body, the harder the movement.....I know, I'm working on it!! 🍮🍪 Who says you can't have dessert when you're "dieting"!?!🤷‍♀️ ▫️ 🤔 I hear people say things like "I need to be good" or "no bad foods until..." Classifying foods as good/bad develops negative relationships with food and can distort your view of your eating long term🚫 ▫️ 🤔 Being mindful about what you eat is huge, what you eat and how you eat it. This for example is my #treatnotcheat. I know in an evening I'll often crave something sweet and have found myself longing for a dessert or pudding to finish off my meal🤤 ▫️ 🍪 So here's my compromise, sugar free biscuits with @musclemoosehq peanut butter mousse. Sweet and treat enough to satiate my cravings without breaking off my nutrition plan, sticking within my macros and daily calories. This is a treat, doesn't happen every day! 🧘‍♀️🤸‍♀️Wake up and move! ▫️ 🧘‍♀️📙 Anyone having followed me for a while will know I wake up at the crack of dawn (pure habit, don't even need to set an alarm!🤷‍♀️) meditate then journal. For the last week and a half I've used my extra time gained, due to the lack of commute, to add a new practice into my morning routine.....yoga! ▫️ 🤸‍♀️ Now, I've always known that the additional mobility work would help with my fitness and general day to day movement (or lack there of with a desk job) but I've always found a reason to not do this one specifically. Mainly as I had dabbled before and felt clumsy and lacked finesse like many of the other ladies in classes. But now there are no classes and a wealth of amazing on line resources to use. So I'm on it! ▫️ ⬇️🐕 I've been using the @downdogapp, you've probably seen it in my story, a few of you have already got involved which I'm LOVING!!❤🙌 It's really easy to follow, not patronising in the slightest and fully customisable to your needs.
