I have been fighting a bug off and on for about two weeks now and I’m having a really hard time with it. . . Sickness is just one of the many ways that the universe tells us we need to slow down. I know this intellectually, but it is such a tough pill to swallow ( pun intended ). In doing some self work I realized that often physical illness is actually a manifestation of my anxiety. . . I don’t think it’s an accident whenever I feel nervous or unworthy, or scared that my work isn’t going to be good enough, my physical body takes over for my brain. It forces me to slow down, look inward, and get some perspective. . . These affirmations for anxiety are great even if you’re in perfect physical health. If you’re going through a rough patch, remember: it’s only temporary, the situation does not define you, you have gotten through other rough patches before, and you’re on no ones time table but your own. . . If you need a break take it. If you need to spend your day curled up in bed let it. If you need to stay with yourself and say “no” to meetings, do it. Allow yourself to do whatever you need to do today and don’t feel guilty about it. 🧚🏼‍♀️ So often we are too hard on ourselves feeling like we should always hustle, and do do do, cross all the things on our never ending to-do lists and keep pushing. And when we take a break we almost feel guilty about it, because that little voice back in our head is whispering „Why are you taking a break? You should be doing something! Doing nothing and staring to a ceiling will take you nowhere.“. Even if that might be exactly what you need to be doing at that specific moment. 🌱 So today, don’t be so hard on yourself, take a little moment for yourself, even if it’s just 10 minutes. Let yourself feel whatever you need to feel today. Sometimes they are days where we just need to slow down and be. So just be. 🌿

Just another quick little post. I sold my jewelry and ornaments at a bazaar yesterday and I actually made it through the whole thing with just a half hour nap near the end. I managed to sell a few things, enough to make it worth the hard work to prepare for it. It was so nice seeing my customers in person and interacting with them. And there were few enough shoppers that I didn't get overwhelmed and confused. Thanks so much to everyone who came out and everyone who supports my business from farther away. Handy little tip my counselor gave me today to help deal with stress management. It is called imagery, and it is really helpful for resetting your mind when you find yourself getting stressed over a situation. Here's how it works: You find a quiet spot, preferably away from the stressful situation if possible. Close your eyes, and picture a place where you feel comfortable. It can be a place you've been to before, or it can be somewhere in your mind you just make up. Go there. Look around. Is there anyone else there? If so, who do they look like? Is it anyone you know? Random people? What are the colors in this place? Is there any sort of light? What kind (sunlight, blue light, yellow light, etc.)? What does it smell like in this place? Have you smelled this before? Can you feel anything here? What's the texture? What are some of the things around you? Is there a taste to the air or is it just bland? Where do you feel all this in your body? What does it feel like? What do you hear? Are there sounds, or music, or both? Is there a friend with you, or someone you admire? Think carefully through these questions, and maybe even come up with some of your own. Lose yourself in this place for as long as you need to (just make sure you're not like driving or in the middle of class or a hands-on job--if you are a surgeon, please keep your attention on my organs in your hands.) Relax in this place and allow it to clear the stress and chaos from your head. Once you feel ready, head back and tackle that stressful situation head-on, because you will do it and do it successfully. And even if on the very very slightest chance you don't, no biggie. Just a minor bump. You are an ocean, someone throwing a rock into you cannot damage you.

Once again I found myself on a crossroad of where do I go next after this one period in my life ends. Worrying about what lies ahead and how I’ll manage everything. 🚏 Normally I would try to plan everything to the tiniest detail just to feel a bit more in control. Which would only lead to a bigger anxiety from the unknown and feeling shit because of not following my precise plan anyway. But not today. Today I just said: „You know what, whatever comes will come and I am strong, I will figure it out at the time!“ There is no point in wasting my energy on worrying about the unknown and trying to plan or prepare myself for something what might not even come. No need to be thinking about it and letting myself be swallowed up by it, because the truth is - I can’t figure it out now anyway. The only thing I can influence is the ‘here and now‘ and going with the flow works for me much better anyway. You never know what tomorrow can bring, a new job, dream collaboration, life partner, you can’t plan that. And then your whole life changes. Again. It’s a constant react and redirect kinda thing. ⛵️ Just keep on doing what brings joy, little steps everyday to the vision you have and the rest will follow. 🌻 You’ll figure it out on the way as it goes, one damn step after another. One by one. ☀️
