let's recap what we've learned about the United States in the last few days.
things that are terrorism:
allegedly shooting a healthcare CEO whose company generated more pure profit (not revenue, profit) in a year than the GDP of 94 countries, exclusively by denying coverage to people who pay for it
a 42-year-old mother of 2 using the wrong combination of 7 words during a heated conversation with a call center employee at a health insurance company who was in the process of denying her health coverage.
things that are not terrorism:
mass shooting in a Black church to incite a race war
going to a BLM protest specifically to kill protestors
a neo-nazi running over a crowd of people, killing a woman
targeting and killing 23 latinos in an el paso, texas walmart
killing 12 people in a theatre, shooting 58 others, rigging your apartment with explosives
a QAnon groyper killing 7 and shooting ~50 at a 4th of July parade
killing 3 people and shooting several others at a Planned Parenthood in defense of the unborn
stalking someone relentlessly and then killing them and their child despite months of the victim making police reports
any one of the 1,200 murders committed by US police yearly, the vast majority being minorities
tightening your border while ~100 immigrants (including children) drown every year in the Rio Grande
United Healthcare killing an unnknowable number of elderly people by using faulty AI to deny medically necessary coverage
Aetna killing a woman by refusing to cover her cancer care
Blue Cross killing a 6-year-old by denying her appendicitis surgery
Cigna killing a 17-year-old child by denying her liver transplant
the pharmaceutical industry killing half a million people with opioids in the name of producing revenues in 2023 that rivaled the GDPs of countries like Spain, Mexico, and Australia.
the United States killing 45,000 people a year because they can't access health coverage
make sure you keep this guide handy the next time you find yourself interacting with your insurance company or any other millionaire, billionaire, or an individual who is part of a protected class such as a CEO or president of a corporation.

I was once talking to someone about the hypothetical zombie apocalypse, and as an Australian I said, "imagine if Australia (an island nation) could close it's borders completely and keep the zombies out, how many people are going to die because they can't get their medication anymore?"
I didn't even think of surgery, I was just thinking of people like me who rely on medication to survive day to day.
We're all connected and Australia already has frequently problems with medication shortages and recently a national saline shortage. I don't need a revolution that is going to kill me and thousands of others because medication and hospital care is unavailable.
Just ask people in places like Gaza, Sudan and Afghanistan what it's like when there is no medication or hospital care available.
Work for change in sustainable ways.
I think a lot about how, if the glorious violent revolution happens, every kid with significant medical needs in a hospital where power gets cut will die.
You can decide you're willing to sacrifice your own life, but you don't get to tell everybody else on the planet that they're acceptable collateral damage.
#we are all connected#australia#medical care#let's not ask for when the revolution comes#let's do it in a sustainable way that keeps more people alive

For followers of the gender medicine debate in Queensland Australia, January 2025 has been a wild ride. With highs and lows already, we look forward to an eventful year. One thing is certain, this issue is not going away.
Jan 4, am: The Courier Mail in Queensland reported that the new Liberal-National government would be moving ahead to implement all 25 recommendations of the evaluation report on the Queensland Childrenâs Gender Service (QCGS) released in 2024. The report recommended an expansion of services state-wide, public-private partnerships to deliver services, and the previous Labor government had committed to a doubling of funding.
Jan 4, pm: In the afternoon, The Courier Mail article was amended to tell a completely different story with a new headline: Queensland Childrenâs Gender Service recommendations to be reviewed. Implementation was not now guaranteed, and the Minister for Health raised the possibility of âanother review into the affirmative care modelâ.
Jan 5: The Qld Deputy Premier, Jarrod Bleijie and Health Minister Tim Nicholls appeared in a video posted on Facebook to state that âwe do not support the expansion of gender services for children in Queenslandâ and that they remained concerned about the use of puberty blockers in light of information that is coming in from around the world.
Jan 28: The Courier Mail ran a front page article titled CHILDRENâS GENDER SCANDAL with the online article heading being âRogueâ gender clinics giving Qld kids puberty blockers without parental consent. The Minister stated that âThe Cairns Sexual Health Service delivered an apparently unauthorised pediatric gender service without an agreed model of care to 42 pediatric gender service clients, 17 of whom were prescribed stage one or stage two hormone therapy in a way that may not align with treatment guidelines.â Media reported that a whistle blower had come forward.
Jan 28: The Qld Health Department released a Health Service Directive pausing all new prescriptions of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to those under 18. A number of reviews were announced: a clinical review and a health service review into the events in Cairns paediatric gender treatment, as well as âan independently led broad review of the evidence for Stage 1 and Stage 2 hormone therapies for children in Queensland.â This is intended to be a ârobust investigation of best practice in this fieldâ.
Jan 31: The Federal Health Minister released a media statement to say that after taking advice from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Therapeutic Goods Administration he had asked the NHMRC âto undertake a comprehensive review of the Australian Standards of Care and Treatment Guidelines for Trans and Gender Diverse Children and AdolescentsâŚand to develop new national guidelines.â The guidelines are to be developed according to NHMRC Standards and the international GRADE approach to assessing evidence. (We assume that the involvement of the TGA is in response to the fact that puberty blockers are prescribed off-label in Australia, as the TGA has not approved them for treating gender dysphoria.)
At a press conference the same day, Minister Butler noted that the Australian Professional Association for Transgender Health (AusPATH) [whose members drafted the original guidelines] and Transcend, an LGBT+ support group representing families, had indicated last year that they thought the [AusPATH] guidelines needed updating. (Notably the guidelines were updated in 2023, without inclusion of any new published research post 2018. The update added two paragraphs addressing hormone provision by GPs outside of multidisciplinary hospital-based teams.)
The Minister also said that he had indicated to the Queensland Government that he did not think it would be appropriate for Queensland to continue its own evidence review given that a national approach was needed and the NHMRC was the pre-eminent body. Mr Butler reported that the NHMRC described evidence in the area as âcontested and evolvingâ.
And that was just January.

MEDIA RELEASE â Genspect Australia 28th Jan 2025
Genspect Australia commends the Queensland halt on childrenâs gender medicine
Genspect Australia welcomes todayâs announcement by the Queensland Health Minister, Mr Tim Nicholls that puberty blocker and hormonal treatments of children with gender-related distress will be paused pending an independent review of the evidence for these treatments.
âThis is good news that will protect Queensland children from irreversible medical harm, whilst the evidence for use of these drugs is re-examined. The 2024 NHS England Cass Review found that the âgender affirmingâ model of treatment, as used in Queensland, rests on shaky foundations,â said Ms Judith Hunter, Genspect spokesperson.
Genspect Australia is a coalition of clinicians and parents promoting a non-medicalised path of treatment for gender-questioning young people.
Revelations of possible medical malpractice in prescription of blockers or hormones to children in the Cairns Sexual Health clinic precipitated the action by the Minister.
âAction has been taken because of events in Cairns, but the practices at the Queensland Childrenâs Gender Service (QCGS) in Brisbane have been similarly concerningâ, said Ms Hunter.
A review of the QCGS in 2024 found that the clinic follows the âAustralian Standards of Careâ for treatment of children and adolescents with gender dysphoria, but according to Ms Hunter it missed the more fundamental point that the standards are not fit for purpose.
The Australian Standards of Care did not meet the standard required for consideration by the National Health and Medical Research Council, and received a failing grade for adherence to evidence in a 2024 review of international guidelines.
âIt is deeply concerning that Queensland children are being treated with life-changing hormones under a protocol that fails basic quality controls,â said Ms Hunter.
Dr Jillian Spencer, a whistle-blowing child psychiatrist currently suspended from duty in Queensland Health for speaking out about her concerns on the practices at the QCGS, concurs. âIt is bizarre that within the course of a decade, a radical treatment with cross-sex hormones that turns physically healthy children into medical patients for life became so widely accepted that clinicians are threatened with deregistration if they do not comply.
âMost of the children and young people presenting to gender clinics have complex mental health problems, autism, a history of trauma including sexual assault, or are just same sex-attracted and confused by their developing sexuality. Responsible medical practice should prioritise exploration of the origin of gender-related distress and focus on helping the child become comfortable in their body,â said Dr Spencer.
Dr Spencer welcomed the ministerâs announcement. âThis should give the many clinicians who are concerned for child safety the courage to speak up.â
The announcement has also been widely welcomed on social media by detransitioners and parents who question the safety of medicalisation for gender distress and advocate for less invasive treatments, such as psychotherapy.
âWe frequently hear that treatment should be a medical discussion between families and doctors, not politicians, however treatment choices other than âaffirmingâ medicalisation have been discouraged and families have been shamed for asking questionsâ said a Genspect parent member who wished to remain anonymous. âWe feel vindicated in our concernsâ.

MEDIA RELEASE â Genspect Australia 31st Jan 2025
Genspect Australia is pleased that the self-appointed âAustralian Standards of Care and Treatment Guidelines for Trans and Gender Diverse Children and Adolescentsâ are being reviewed and replaced, but cautions that the integrity of any new guideline rests on the appropriate selection of review panel members.
Genspect Australia is a coalition of clinicians and parents promoting non-medicalised and evidence-based care for children and young people with gender-related distress.
The Health Minister Mark Butler announced the guideline review today, and mentioned a key role for the Australian Professional Association of Transgender Health (AusPATH) in its initiation. âThis rings alarm bells given the nature of AusPATH as an activist-led organisation that promotes radical âgender-affirmingâ treatment as the only allowable path,â said Genspect spokesperson Judith Hunter.
The existing âStandardsâ document was written by AusPATH members at the Royal Childrenâs Hospital in Melbourne and endorsed by the AusPATH board. In a published review of international guidelines commissioned by the NHS England Cass Review, the âAustralian Standardsâ was given a grade of only 19% for rigour of development which includes adherence to an evidence base, and the Minister today acknowledged that it was not NHMRC-approved.
The âAustralian Standardsâ document promotes immediate âaffirmationâ of a gender-questioning child with a new name and pronouns, followed by puberty blockers if early in puberty, cross-sex hormones, and possible later surgery. This approach is now highly contested globally, with many countries taking a more neutral approach in recent years and prioritising psychological treatments.
âIrreversible sex-trait modification initiated when children are as young as 10 years old is an irresponsible and bizarre treatment for a condition that was unheard of 20 years agoâ, said Ms Hunter. âWe are witnessing an epidemic of transgender identification that occurs in clusters and peer groups and is undoubtedly driven by social contagion. To treat a transient identity in adolescence with irreversible and radical body modification defies the âdo no harmâ principle in medicine. Review of these practices is way overdue.â
Genspect Australia is concerned about the timeline proposed for the review with interim conclusions expected on puberty blockers in mid-2026. âThe UK has already looked at the evidence on puberty blockers and stopped prescription. Children are being harmed right now, with treatments that lead to sterility, loss of sexual function, and a myriad of long-term health problems from incontinence to risk of stroke. All states need to follow Queensland with a pause in new prescriptions,â said Ms Hunter.
The announcement of the review comes only three days after the Queensland Health Minister Tim Nicholls imposed a pause on new puberty blocker and hormone treatments in Queensland in response to alleged malpractice in the Cairns Sexual Health Service, and also outlined a review of the evidence for gender affirmative treatments of minors.
There is no dispute that gender-distressed young people and their families deserve the highest quality care, and Genspect Australia looks forward to engaging with the review process to ensure this outcome. âIt is essential that the experiences of both detransitioners, who have been harmed by gender medicalisation and parents who advocate for a cautious âwatchful-waitingâ approach are considered,â said Ms Hunter.
==
As WPATH demonstrates, when activists get involved, you end up with lies about puberty blockers and hormones, chapters about "eunuch identity," removal of all age restrictions, and handwaving all the warning signs, all the concerns, all the doubts.

Choosing the Right Home-Based Aged Care Provider: A Practical Guide
Selecting a home-based aged care provider for a loved one is a crucial decision that requires thoughtful evaluation. Receiving care at home allows elderly individuals to maintain their independence, stay in familiar surroundings, and receive tailored support that enhances their well-being. To ensure your loved one receives the best care, itâs essential to carefully consider several key factors.
Hereâs a practical guide to help you choose the right home-based aged care provider.
1. Understand the Services Offered
Begin by reviewing the range of services each provider offers. While some agencies focus on basic support like meal preparation, personal care, and medication management, others provide specialised services for conditions like dementia, Parkinsonâs disease, or other age-related health challenges.
Itâs also important to choose a provider that can adapt as your loved oneâs needs evolve. A flexible and regularly updated care plan ensures that any changes in health or preferences are addressed promptly.
2. Look for Personalised Care Plans
Every individual has unique needs, so personalised care is essential. Choose a provider that develops tailored care plans based on a thorough assessment of your loved oneâs physical, emotional, and social requirements.
The care plan should respect their preferences, routines, and dignity, helping them maintain a sense of independence while ensuring they receive the specific support they need for their comfort and well-being.
3. Assess the Quality of the Care Team
The care teamâs expertise and compassion are critical in delivering high-quality aged care. Look for providers who carefully vet and train their carers to handle both medical and personal support needs while showing empathy and understanding.
Consistency in care is also crucial. Having the same carers regularly visit helps build trust, comfort, and familiarity, which can greatly improve your loved oneâs experience.
4. Prioritise Flexibility and Availability
Home-based care should accommodate your loved oneâs schedule and requirements. Whether they need a few hours of care per day or round-the-clock assistance, the provider should be able to meet those needs.
Additionally, emergency availability is vital. Providers that offer 24/7 support ensure immediate assistance in urgent situations or sudden changes in your loved oneâs condition. The ability to adjust care plans as needs change is another essential aspect of reliable home-based care.
5. Check Accreditation and Reputation
Accreditation provides reassurance that a provider meets industry standards for safety and quality. In Australia, look for providers accredited by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, as this confirms their adherence to best practices.
A providerâs reputation is equally important. Seek out reviews, testimonials, and recommendations from other families to gain insight into the quality of care they deliver. Consulting friends, family, or local support networks can also be helpful when making your decision.
6. Consider Costs and Funding Options
Understanding the costs of home-based aged care is essential. Pricing varies depending on the level of care required, so itâs important to discuss fees upfront. Many providers accept funding from government programs like the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) or Home Care Packages (HCP), which can help offset expenses for eligible individuals.
Be sure to inquire about any additional charges and look for care packages that suit your budget to avoid unexpected costs later.
Conclusion
Choosing the right home-based aged care provider is an important step in ensuring your loved one receives compassionate, high-quality support tailored to their needs. By focusing on flexibility, personalised care, skilled carers, and accreditation, you can find a provider that aligns with your loved oneâs unique preferences and requirements.
With the right provider, your loved one can continue to live comfortably and securely at home, enjoying their independence and dignity throughout their later years. Take the time to research and compare options to make an informed decision that offers peace of mind for the entire family.

In Gaza, journalists are passing out from exhaustion and famine. Despite the ICJ ruling, the US and Australia are intentionally defunding UNWRA based on baseless claims by Israel that members of the aid group are Hamas-sympathizers. Netanyahu, of course, has ignored the ICJ ruling. Israel has banned insulin pens from arriving in Gaza, a particularly cruel and inhumane crime to add to their laundry list of offences. Nothing has changed, and things are getting worse.
It is not that hard to not buy things. To not watch things. Perhaps it is inconvenient, and makes you go out of your way, and costs a little more to buy alternatives. But if you were to attend a funeral a day for every child that has died in Gaza so far, it would take you over 27 years. When the worst that will happen to you is that you don't watch a TV show featuring a zionist, you don't buy a specific brand that donates to and supports zionism, how could that possibly compare to the plight of Palestinians who must amputate limbs without anesthesia?
Once again, this is the BDS list of brands to boycott.

Here is a comprehensive post about more actions you can take in support of Palestine.
Here is a list of verifiable orgs that provide aid on the ground.
credible organisations that are doing work on the ground in Palestine:
Care for Gaza:non-profit charity that distributes money, food and other resources directly to families in Gaza. They maintain a regular presence on Twitter and Instagram. You can donate to them via Paypal here.
PCRF / Palestine Children's Relief Fund: non-profit organisation that distributes essential food and resources to families in Gaza. Most recently, they delivered 30 tons of vital medicine, and 82,000 pounds of flour.
Medical Aid For Palestinians: deploys medical teams to treat Palestinians suffering under Israel's malicious bombardments.
Donate e-sims to Palestine: massive post with tutorials and relevant links, with discount codes included in the post and in the replies.
Direct Aid: humanitarian fund distributing supplies such as blankets and winter jackets directly to Palestinian families.

Save Amjad Saher and his family (Gofundme)
Help a family of 13 escape Gaza (Gofundme)
Help a Palestinian children's book illustrator save her family of 12 (Gofundme)
Today, tomorrow and until Israel faces justice for their crimes, learn how to prioritise Palestine over your own comfort.

"A medical technology company in Australia is aiming for a world-first: it wants to launch a blood test for endometriosis (sometimes called 'endo' for short) within the first half of this year [2025].
In a recent peer-reviewed trial, its novel test proved 99.7 percent accurate at distinguishing severe cases of endometriosis from patients without the disease but with similar symptoms.
Even in the early stages of the disease, when blood markers may be harder to pick out, the test's accuracy remained over 85 percent.
The company behind the patent, Proteomics International, says it is currently adapting the method "for use in a clinical environment," with a target launch date in Australia for the second quarter of this year [2025].
The test is called PromarkerEndo.
"This advancement marks a significant step toward non-invasive, personalized care for a condition that has long been underserved by current medical approaches," managing director of Proteomics International Richard Lipscombe said in a press release from December 30.
Endometriosis is a common inflammatory disease that occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows in other parts of the body, forming lesions. The disease can be very painful, and yet the average patient often suffers debilitating symptoms for up to seven years before they are properly diagnosed.
While there are numerous reasons for such a long delay, symptoms of endometriosis are often highly variable, unpredictable, difficult to measure or describe, and dismissed or overlooked by doctors.
Today, the only definitive way to diagnose endometriosis is via keyhole surgery called a laparoscopy, which is expensive, invasive, and carries risks.
Proteomics International is hoping to change that.
In collaboration with researchers at the University of Melbourne and the Royal Women's Hospital, the company compared the bloodwork data from 749 participants of mostly European descent.
Some had endometriosis and others had symptoms that were similar to endo but without the lesions. All participants had a laparoscopy to confirm the presence or absence of the disease.
Sifting through the bloodwork, researchers ran several different algorithms to figure out which proteins in the blood were best at predicting endometriosis of varying stages.
Building on previous research, a panel of 10 proteins showed a "clear association" with endometriosis.
For years now, scientists have investigated possible blood biomarkers of endometriosis to see if they could differentiate between those who have endo and those who do not. Similar to cancerous tumors, endo lesions can establish their own blood supply, and if cervical cancer can be diagnosed via a blood test, it seemed possible that endometriosis could be, too...
Proteomics International claims patents for PromarkerEndo are "pending in all major jurisdictions," starting first in Australia.
It remains to be seen if the company's blood test lives up to the hype and is approved by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). But that's not outside the realm of possibility.
In November of 2023, some researchers predicted that a "reliable non-invasive biomarker for endometriosis is highly likely in the coming years."
Perhaps this is the year."
-via ScienceAlert, January 9, 2025

Note: As someone with endometriosis, let me say that this is a HUGE deal. The condition is incredibly common, incredibly understudied, and incredibly often dismissed. Massive sexism at work here.
I got very lucky and got diagnosed after about 6 months of chronic pain (and extra extra lucky, because my pain went away with medication). But as the article says, the average time to diagnosis is seven years.
Being able to confirm endometriosis diagnoses/rates without invasive surgery will also lead to huge progress in studying/creating treatments for endo.
And fyi: If you have a period that is so painful that you can't stand up, or have to go home from school/work, or vomit, or anything else debilitating (or if any of those things apply if you forget to take pain meds), that is NOT NORMAL, and you should talk to a competent gynecologist asap.

A small "Earth is Space Australia" thingy based on something that happened to me while working on the farm a few weeks ago-
---
"Human-Sarah, why are you limping?"
"Oh, one of our goats hit me on the inside of my knee with his horn."
"What?? Are you alright?? Do you require medical assistance??"
"Nah, nah, I'm fine. He just managed to get me with the sharper end of it by accident-"
"Did this goat manage to impale you??? We must get you to a medic right away-"
"Zurgurr, relax, I didn't get my knee impaled. Those horns aren't meant to gore anything with, it was a blunt point. Plus, I was wearing layers so the impact got dulled."
"...I see. But what caused this goat to attack you like that then?"
"Oh, I was interrupting him eating."
"....What."
"Yeah, I should've put his bucket a bit further from the door, he must've thought I wanted to take it from him or whatever."
"...So he attacked you."
"Nah, just threw his head back in my direction in protest and managed to hook a horn into my knee that way. It'll be a bit of a bruise, but that's all."
"I see.. so-"
"I mean, if he wanted to attack me, he would've been on his hind legs to ram his horns against my stomach or something."
"..What."
"Yeah, he tried that once, but I just grabbed him by the leash to stop him. And besides, he wouldn't want to harm me on purpose, I think. He's just a grumpy old man who's had kids invading his space too much. He even looked guilty after he hit me."
"...So even though he slammed a horn into a vital joint of yours, you forgive him?"
"Yeah. Because I care for him, and he needs kindness. He's a grumpy asshole at times, but he's my grumpy asshole."
#humans are space orcs#earth is space australia#my writing#mostly wrote this because one of the goats here passed away and I'm sad about it ;w;

THE GANGS ALL HERE đŁď¸đĽâźď¸ information below the cut, âBâ cast ( Doll, Lizzy, Thad) have not been included yet as they dont have a role in the main story yet. feel free to ask any questions, me and @kylelily123abc4 will do our best to answer them (:
UZI
Uzi is a 21 year old woman with an undergraduate in medical engineering, which she was coaxed into by her parents (Namely Khan). She is incredibly adept and smart and prefers the technicalities of weapons engineering, and majors in art on the side. She would like to do it full time, however her parents insist itâs not a âreal job.â She volunteers at the local hospital N, V and J are relocated to from overseas so they can continue inpatient care until they are stable enough to be discharged and resume physio / psychotherapy as outpatients. She meets N during his time there and immediately clicks with him, and eventually begins to visit him on her off hours, and continues to visit him even after her contract ends. They end up establishing a relationship together and, after finding it is much less expensive commuting to school, moves in with N, V, J, Cyn and Tessa in their apartment for the semester.
She spent most of her childhood moving around and being bulliedâthe most significant moment having been when her first kiss was stolen by someone who only dated her because he was dared to.
Uzi is a big fan of all things anime, edgy humor, hot topic, and nightcore. sheâs got the soul of an unabashed 2000s emo girl stuck in the modern day.
N
Private first class Nate (all his friends call him N) Is a 23 year old man who was fostered from a family in Utah alongside his sister Cyn under Tessa, another childhood friend, and the Elliot family in Melbourne Australia from the ages of 8-18. When of applicable age, he went back to the United States to enlist in the marines and live with Cyn, a former child prodigy who was scouted and given multiple scholarships due to record breaking academics and reflexes on simulator games.
He was severely traumatized during his first deployment overseas along with his other childhood friends, V, and J, after their humvee hit an IED during a routine supply run. All three were critically injured and the sole survivors of their team of 6. He, along with J and V spent a total of 12 hours alone in the desert before they were airlifted to an emergency hospital in germany, then, once stabilized, returned to the states to resume inpatient care in Salem, Oregon.
Despite his honorable discharge and severe ptsd diagnosis, N does his best to remain upbeat and positive, almost to a fault, oftentimes repressing âbadâ thoughts or feelings.
He ends up meeting Uzi in the hospital and they form a relationship together, her eventually moving in and living with V, J, Him, Tessa, and Cyn in their flat after theyâre discharged from the hospital.
J
Sergeant Jane (Only preferring J when around close friends) is a 26 year old trans woman who was fostered from an immigrant afghan family under Tessa, another childhood friend, and the Elliot family in Melbourne Australia from the ages of 4-18, having realized she was a woman very early in life. She began socially transitioning at 12, and began HRT as soon as she aged out of the system. She was the first to be involved with the Elliots and was pushed to enlist in the australian military, quickly moving up the ranks to sergeant and was eventually posted in the united states to assist in training other cadets. She was severely traumatized during her second deployment overseas along with her other childhood friends, V, and N after their humvee hit an IED during a routine supply run. All three were critically injured and the sole survivors of their team of 6. she, along with J and V spent a total of 12 hours alone in the desert before they were airlifted to an emergency hospital in germany, then, once stabilized, returned to the states to resume inpatient care in Salem, Oregon.
Having been their squad leader, J often blames herself for the incident, even if she doesnât talk about it or say anything out loud. J is an ass kisser. She will do anything and everything to succeed and has a Holier Than Thou personality, often very uptight and not about any bullshit. Her relationship with N specifically is horrible, and she harbours lots of jealousy and resentment from their time growing up due to favoritism.
She has a long standing, massive crush on Tessa Elliot, her longtime confidant and friend, though it went unrequited for their entire childhood and into their early adult life, J often being subject to Tessaâs dating endeavours and crushes in the meantime.
V
Lance Corporal Victoria, (Who prefers to go by V present day) 4-18 who was fostered from a family in Vermont under Tessa, another childhood friend, and the Elliot family in Melbourne Australia from the ages of 8-18. She enlisted in the military alongside J and eventually N, and was transferred to the states to assist in training procedures for new cadets with J.
She was decommissioned during her second deployment overseas along with N and J after their humvee hit an IED during a routine supply run. All three were critically injured and the sole survivors of their team of 6. She took the brunt of the blast, sustaining the most severe wounds and was airlifted to an emergency hospital in germany, then, once stabilized, returned to the states to resume inpatient care in Salem, Oregon.
The doctors operating on her told her she would never walk again--V proved that wrong by walking the next week. It was a miracleâhowever V simply states it was due to âhaving that dog in her.â
She is very resilient, but is often grumpy with a dry sense of tone and humor. She used to have feelings for N when they were kids, but it's since faded as they grew and disappeared during their time in active duty. Though despite this, she still cares for him as a friend, even if she rarely shows it.
She is the first to be discharged, having been set up in an apartment downtown by Tessa, who lives with her and eventually is joined by N, J, Cyn, and eventually Uzi. She is a gym rat with a heavy workout regimen that she will make everyone else's problem if its interrupted.
CYN
Cynthia (Who ONLY goes by Cyn present day) is N's little sister. She is still in active duty in the military air-force. She was a child savant who graduated highschool at 14 and college at 18, moving on to become one of the best UAV operators in history, with successful missions reaching into the hundreds. Cyn is autistic and physically disabled, having been born with cerebral palsy, and uses forearm crutches as mobility aids--but make no mistake, she is incredibly intuitive and adept. often knock-kneed and walks with an awkward gate, and speaks with very âroboticâ mannerisms. She sometimes struggles to show empathy in a âsocially normal wayâ or have a conversational filter. She has a very dark sense of humor as well, that for those not used to her may find jarring or off putting. Cyn hates being referred to as a child or incompetent because of her appearance or her disability, she will even go to an extent to prove the point that she does not need assistance. Tends to be protective of N, to a lesser but still protective of V and J and much later down the line Uzi becomes a close friend of hers.
In her off time she enjoys painting warhammer figurines, collecting cards and playing video games. She has a very kitsch, macabre sense of interest, often owning eclectic, odd knick knacks and memorabilia, namely a taxidermied wombat sheâs affectionately named âSuzie.â
TESSA
Dr Tessa James Elliot is a very talented surgeon working out of a public hospital in Brisbane, Australia, descending from a very rich family. She is N, V and Jâs childhood friend and frequently travels to different parts of the world to assist in surgeries or specialist care. Tessa paused all of her work when she learned of their incident overseas, flying to America to personally attend to their careâwith some bribery and finagling due to HIPPA not allowing biased treatment. She just cares too much to not do anything. Tessa is a joyful, social butterfly. Excellent bedside manner and a good sense of humor but sometimes comes off as socially awkward. She is Jâs lifelong crush despite not being aware of it, having spent some time dating around but nobody ever seems to be the right fit. She often complains about her recent dating endeavors to J much to her chagrin.
Tessa is, for the lack of a better word, weird. Think Cyn with a little more charisma, often not having a conversational filter or saying things out of the blue. She is not disturbed by otherwise off putting things like death, bodily fluids, nudity, gore etc, and has a bit of a dark sense of humor that she portrays very upbeat and positively. She is incredibly smart and adept bookwise, however socially she comes up a bit short.
there is an alternative version of these guys however it is 18+ for nudity. you can see it on bluesky here and twitter here

Why do you care about the US election? Arenât you Australian?

The US is (unfortunately) one of the most dominant government powers in the world. I donât know how to explain to you that that affects people outside the US too.
Literally right now there is an ADHD medication shortage in the New Zealand and Australia because itâs a major US export here and we donât make it ourselves (or at least not on the scale required).
We are still in negotiations and the US hasnât budged an inch.
In 1975, the CIA interfered with our politics under the Ford administration and got one of the most progressive prime ministers weâve ever had dismissed.
There are US military bases on Australian soil.
Australian soldiers have died for US âwarsâ and their pride and greed.
In 2017, Trump tweeted about how a deal made during the Obama administration to admit 1,250 refugees to the US (while we took in many more refugees from the US, which ironically would have helped with his whole âtheir taking our jobsâ rhetoric bullshit) was âdumbâ and openly mocked it throwing a hissy hit, saying Putin was much more pleasant to talk to than our prime minister. In the end 300 refugees were relocated. Less than a quarter of the people originally promised to be helped. Because the presidency changed. To an idiotic, broke, failed reality TV Star whoâd rather tweet out political secrets than think for one second about anyone but himself.
It fucking matters to me whoâs in the chair.
#also I have close friends and family in the US#Iâd like their lives to suck margainally less#us politics#auspol#us elections#FUCKING VOTE#I MEAN IT#ask qwerty#hey nonny nonny
