i always get annoyed over how the stolas and stella thing is depicted, as someone who related to Octavia's position in that. like woobified man who can do no wrong and one note evil woman is just. so frustrating in how people will jump over hurdles to defend stolas and get mad at people who want stella to have more development and who (rightfully) criticize the massive misogyny problem in the fandom and writing. like my mom was abusive and shitty! and my dad was a cheater and also shitty for other reasons and their relationship sucked! It was inherently complicated for both. Octavia is right to be angry at Stolas at the moment and however long as she needs to be, just as she can be angry at Stella if she wants. Stella you can say doesn't deserve a backstory or explanation but inherently she was *also* forced into an arranged marriage and forced to produce a child, whose status is tied to her marriage, you can't just say 'evil as birth'. Its just just a cop out to retroactively justify the shitty behavior of Stolas. Stolas does plenty of shitty things that the story jumps over backwards to justify and gloss over and Stella is just.. annoying abuser who is so one-dimensional you can't take seriously. I hope when her backstory is explored it focuses on her and not andrealphus. I hope she is somehow made complicated like Beatrice . Because she is quite literally a victim of misogyny. I honestly hope she is depicted as not a terrible mother somehow, even though the story so far just glosses over her relationship with Via almost entirely. I'm not even defending her abuse either. But female villains deserve the same development as male villains, and there is inherent nuance to her situation due to her position and being *also* forced into this arranged marriage (and how arranged marriage is historically worse for women but I digress) that you can't pretend isn't there even if Viv seems to want to so far. Evil women deserve good backstories. If people can go off and stan fucking valentino then people should be allowed to like Stella and the nuance she *could* and should capture. She isn't even depicted as a good villain, just stupid and annoying and impossible to take seriously.

Having been in both fandoms, I seriously don't understand why two characters (Jimmy from mouthwashing and Valentino from hazbin hotel) don't get the same or even similar treatment from the fans despite both of them having SAd someone.

A lot of people are going around saying that Amity in Season 2 is just "Luz's girlfriend", or that her character just revolves around Luz now. The thing is, in order for a character to solely revolve around another, their relationship to that character needs to be the ONLY major character trait they have and the story can't develop them much outside of that. For Amity in Season 2 to be defined by Luz, she needs to have no development beyond "Luz's girlfriend" and that's it.

So...is Amity defined by Luz in Season 2?.....not really. Sure, her relationship with Luz is a major part of her character, but Luz isn't the only thing that Amity was going for her character in Season 2, there is still the conflict with her parents shown in Escaping Expulsion and Reaching Out, as well as Clouds on The Horizon. Not to mention Eclipse Lake which has Amity relating to another character with similar struggles to her.

Amity's relationship with Luz in Season 2 is a big part of her character, yes, but she isn't solely defined by her lover, she has other things her going on in Season 2, and it's kind of annoying when people reduce Amity in Season 2 to just that.

It's like being at a restaurant and being served a bunch of delicious appetizers, but then one of the bread appetizers is literally just a plate of crumbs; and then when you're like, "Hey, uhh, why are we being served literal crumbs?", a bunch of the other folks eating at the restaurant are like,

Is it just me or Helluva boss feels like the creator just decides to forcefully mix some plots together into one helluva mess. Like it feels like there's multiple writers but they have lack of interaction with others so when the story written, it came out differently and putted into one.

It’s funny you mention that because there are literally only three writers: Vivziepop, Brandon Rogers, and Adam Neylan. 💀

If you look through the season 1 credits it was mainly Vivziepop and Brandon. Vivziepop admits like ages ago that she would go to Brandon for help and pitch ideas to him. During season 1, it would either be Vivziepop or Brandon writing the episodes separately. Or they would collaborate on a few season 1 episodes.

While Adam Neylan wasn’t part of the writing team in season 1. He is in the special thanks if you look at the season 1 credits. For example:

Season 2 is basically where everything goes on fire. Adam Neylan is now a new writer for season 2, which he (by himself) wrote episode 2 (Seeing Stars), episode 3 (Exes and Oohs), episode 5 (Unhappy Campers).

As for the Helluva Boss Shorts Adam wrote short 2 (Antarctic) and 3 (Weaboo). Vivziepop only wrote short 4.

Brandon, however, has written only 1 episode which is “Ghostfuckers.”

Then Vivziepop for season 2, she (by herself) wrote episode 1 (The Circus), episode 4 (Western Energy), episode 6 (Oops), episode 7 (MMMM season special feature fizz), episode 9 (Apology Tour), and episode 11 (Mastermind).

Episode 8: Full Moon is written by both Adam and Vivziepop

So, basically season 2 has been Vivziepop and Adam Neylan. Brandon is nowhere to be seen and it shows in the writing compared to season 1. I don’t know what is happening in the Helluva Boss writing room, I wish I was a fly and looked around but whether Vivziepop likes it or not they need Brandon or at least hire more writers as help.

The document includes commentary by Ken themselves, and screenshots of conversations they and Viv had together. The timeline of the screenshots go from 2017, where Viv was developing the pilot, to 2020, where she was pitching the show, where Ken lists everything that Viv had done.
