Marauders Most Loved Character 2025

Here is the much waited for tournament bracket that took me way longer than it should have and isn't without errors...

The placements were randomised and are unchanging. Every 24 hours there will be a poll on this account with these characters going against the person across from them on their bracket. Every time a poll ends I will adjust the bracket with the winners, which will eventually be pited against each other until we have a final winner.

The first poll will be James and Nymphadora and is posted already.

how many times do i have to tell you that if you’re going to make walburga (and any other female character) a two-dimensional stereotype, you better be doing the exact same for the death eater characters because (shocker!!!!) if you’re choosing to base how much attention you give to a character’s complexities on their actions, then they all did terrible, unjustifiable things, and as such should be receiving the same treatment

I headcanon that Sirius and Regulus are much too similar to their parents for their liking.

Sirius, who was always more scared of Walburga growing up, lashes out and acts all high and mighty when he gets mad.

Regulus, who was always more scared of Orion growing up, is more controlled in his anger, using snark and sarcasm and low threats to insult people.

Both brothers act like the parent they're more tertified of, only becoming more similar to them in their attempts to pull away.

Sirius left with a bang, with a dramatic flare that drew attention to him, that made the other kids at Hogwarts look at him with some kind of reverence or respect. He was remembered by most of the Wizarding World as a mass murderer, living up to his ruthless family name.

Regulus died quietly, alone in a dark cave, blamed for the actions he regretted. He lived in his brother's shadow, ever the Black Who Did Nothing, known only because of his louder counterpart.

While Sirius and Walburga made names for themselves, making bold statements about who they were, making it very clear what they believed in stubbornly, Regulus and Orion followed quietly, leaving them to be in the spotlight while they sat idly by. Regulus and Orion were the forgotten ones, but Sirius and Walburga were remembered all too well.

Unpopular opinion:

Remus Lupin was as capable of cruelty and arrogance as the rest of the Marauders. There are plenty of hints of this in canon. The only reason we don't see this side of him as often is because of his heavy reluctante to be considered a "bad guy".

And he low-key enjoyed going against Snape just as much, he just had some conscience aftewards.

Extra Challenge: Ship Assignment

For this month, we are going to run an extra challenge within the event. This does not change how the rest of the event is run, if you don't participate nothing changes. The rules are simple: fill in this form that asks for your likes and dislikes, and I will send you three rarepair femslash ships to choose from. You are challenged to write one microfic for this event (for the June prompts) for the ship you choose. Additionally, you can select within the form to roll a d20 (a 20-sided die) and whatever number it lands on is the amount of microfics you are challenged to write for the chosen ship(s). For that die roll, you may choose to divide the number of fics over multiple chosen ships (chosen from the three I send you). This is all for fun and to introduce even more rare femslash ships to the fandom: if you don't manage to complete the challenge after signing up that is completely fine, there are no hard feelings. For any questions: don't hesitate to reach out!

James Potter: captain of the Quidditch team, father of the entire canon text, essential key in holding the Marauder’s together. A very respectable and obvious choice.

Nymphadora Tonks: mystical and whimsical girl with so much unexplored potential, strong willed and lover of Remus. A very fun and interesting choice.

regulus was given the middle name arcturus at birth and arcturus is the fourth brightest star in the night sky and THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE BECAUSE as a trans man, he was the fourth in his generation to be afab and so they were essentially like ‘oh shit. we have another one ig’ because sexism, and this absolute bottom-of-the-black-house-barrel situation that regulus found himself in was what eventually turned him into such a strong slytherin, and then into a power-hungry death eater, going so far as to turn his back on the brother he loved for the sake of reputation and duty and most importantly the power he was never given, AND IN CONCLUSION basically trans!regulus makes more sense to me than the canon one in every way shape and form so thank you and good night <3
