Since I started working in Feb. my health has fallen 100% the Nutcracker Syndrome has taken my life.

Live according to your pain not limit yourself but its called being gentle with yourself. it's called knowing healing and I'm taking it slow so I need a chair in the shower to sit cause I can't stand my hands will swell and my head will spin if I sit at a certain angel I will feel burning hot pain and pins and needles and pressure if I move at a certain angel I feel more pressure in my heart

Live according to your pain you need to use a walker use one

Stop giving yourself the short end of the stick.

You can and absolutely should modify the chore/self care task if it makes life easier. Sit on the floor while doing laundry. Clean dishes while in a chair. Sit in the shower.

Save your spoons. Accommodate your fatigue rather than fighting it.

It feels illegal that not all anaemic people are being told this but seriously guys vitamin C will increase your ability to absorb iron and also make it easier on your guts

Take your iron pills with orange juice or whatever vitamin C you can get your hands on it is banger for the nonheme irons that are the majority of what you’ll get from food

Also if you have cranky guts and are eating iron rich foods, apply this hack for less cranky guts

Publishing has always been a fucking nightmare, but now it’s a layer of hell. It’s not enough that writers be good at what they do. Writers have to maintain an active social media presence and cultivate a following. Be available.

They have to be conventionally attractive enough to look good enough to see on a screen, aesthetically pleasing, kind, funny, up-to-date on trends, socially aware but not so controversial that they turn off a brand from California from slapping their discount code on a video promoting a book.

They have to do all of this with no media training, with little help from the companies that are supposed to be doing this for them.

Of course, a lot of this isn't possible for say, the 40-something mother of two who teaches English at a school and writes on the side. She’s boxed out of an already complex industry that already has enough walls.

On some level, I think authors have always marketed themselves a little, but we’ve reached such a crazy point where we’re demanding the author become the influencer. Accessibility in publishing has narrowed from an inch to a sliver. And that inch was hard enough to get in as is.
