9. Does anybody have good fics about canon era Wei Wuxian interacting with the dead? I'm more interested in the plot/worldbuilding angle than the ship for this one. One of the things I loved about the yi city arc was how a-Qing was treated properly as a person who had lived a life before becoming the ghost that they encounter. 16. Hello!!! I'm in the mood for fics where people assume Lwj raped Wy or where people assume Wy raped Lwj (no abuse actually happened, people are just being their usual batard selves who assume the worse)

Hi, this is the same person who sent an ask requesting fics where some misunderstanding happens and people and up thinking Lwj raped Wwx or thinking Wwx raped Lwj. I forgot to add on the ask that I don't want the ones where the misunderstanding happens because Lwj was drunk and Wwx wasn't, Lwj freaks out when he wakes up thinking he took advantage of Wwx while drunk, Wwx (who didn't know Lwj was drunk) freaks out thinking Lwj regrets what happened and there goes people thinking Wwx is freaking out because Lwj abused him. Those fics are full of victim blaming towards Lwj (who was the one drunk while they had sex) both on the fic and on the comments and of everyone ignoring Lwj's pain of losing his first time while drunk and painting him as an asshole towards Wwx for freaking out when he woke up, so I don't vibe with that kind of victim blaming at all. If the fic doesn't have shit like that, then it's all good. Thanks.

Only a few elders understood the clicking accent the way Wuxian spoke it. He was Lan Wangji’s sole companion. He was also the being who had been cursed many years ago to never wake up, and never live. Lan Wangji wished to help fix that. (or: cangse sanren’s child is a ghost of nature, and cursed to sleep forever. a boy still makes friends with the ghost anyway.)

I usually don't ship any male character with a female character if they're canonically in a m/m/gay relationship, but Wei Wuxian and Wen Qing are the exception to the rule.

Like first time around when Wei Wuxian was on the run, she (although initially for Wen Ning's sake but lets be real it would be easy for her to rat them out) risks everything to protect him and help him protect Jiang Cheng while he's powerless.

And then we have a role reversal, where her life is in duress, where she's the one asking for help to protect her loved ones and Wei Wuxian Does Not Hesitate to hold her hand and protect her and her loved ones.

I do prefer them as queerplatonic more than anything but even the romantic ships works because damn just look at them.

You can use resentful energy.” “In theory,” Feng Xin says. “In practice,” Wei Wuxian retorts. “Remember that whole cultivation path I made up? It doesn’t require a golden core at all. I used it for…” He looks at Wen Ning. “What, five? Six years before I died? Start of the Sunshot Campaign.” “Thereabouts,” Wen Ning says. “I used arrays and talismans all the time.” Wen Ning nods. “C-Constantly.” He remembers well their walks around the mountains, when Wei Wuxian would check the defensive arrays he had set around the Burial Mounds. The arrays within the Demon-Quelling Cave, the arrays used to bring him back, to purify their water… Wei Wuxian can draw a perfect circle in dirt in a single try at this point. “Wait,” Mu Qing says, “this implies you—When you… ascended, you shouldn’t have had a core, then. Not if it didn’t still exist.” Wei Wuxian looks at him. “I said I didn’t have one. I didn’t say it didn’t exist. No, I will not elaborate.” “You can’t just—That’s just rude,” Feng Xin says. “Spit it out.” “No.” “You’ll n-never get it out of him,” Wen Ning says. Both of the Southern Generals look back at him. “Wait, so you know?” Mu Qing asks. “You’ll n-never get it out of m-me, either.” Wen Ning looks at them with a respectful defiance that says clearly they have no chance. Rolling his eyes, Mu Qing huffs, obviously annoyed. “He’s as loyal as a fucking dog, I see,” he mutters. In an instant, Wei Wuxian has Mu Qing up against a wall, an arm on his throat. “Do not ever refer to him as a dog,” he snarls. Not after everyone called them ‘Wen-dogs’. Not after they were treated as beasts, as less-than, as inhuman and disposable by virtue of their blood. Not after what the world did to them. Wen Ning deserves better. “Touchy, much?” Mu Qing asks. Grabbing Wei Wuxian’s arm, he forces him off—easily, without much effort, a subtle show of power—and shoves him a couple of steps away. “I apologize,” he says to Wen Ning. “Didn’t mean to step on toes.”

Summary:

When Wei Ying unknowingly drunk dials a stranger to come pick him up from a party, he doesn't expect the guy to actually show, much less be this beautiful.

“I’m at—” Pause for a hiccup, “At that party I told you about, and ‘m suuuuper drunk, so,” Another hiccup, Wei Ying leaning more heavily against the wall, “I’m being a very good adult and asking for a ride. Please!”

“. . .Do you know anyone else there?”

Wei Ying barely made out the words, and wow did Wen Ning sound different when Wei Ying was wasted. “Nope!” He answered cheerily, “Just some of ‘em, like a little bit, not real friends but like—Ac-quain-tan-ces. That’s the word, right? Jiang Cheng and your sister say to be extra careful when—” Another hiccup, followed by Wei Ying having to close his eyes and lean his head against the wall to make everything stop spinning, “—When drunk. Ya know? Of course you know.”

Another silence, and Wei Ying let it drag out longer as he swallowed down the sudden rise of nausea, taking deep breaths through his nose.

I, Jin Guangyao, a senior disciple of the Lanling Jin Clan write to you regarding a matter of grave importance. Kindly pardon the abrupt correspondence but I hope the situation will warrant such measures and the offence incurred will be minimal.

Wei Wuxian’s day had really become so interesting, hadn’t it? The Lianfang-zun writing to him–this lowly practitioner of the heretic path? My, my, his life was always filled with surprises, wasn’t it?

Sometimes, it takes a hundred sacrifices and a dozen heroes to change fate. Other times, it takes a rock and a sentient corpse tripping on it mid-fight to avoid a lifetime of tragedies and send destiny into a tailspin.

In which Wen Ning misses his attack, Jin Zixuan lives and Wei Wuxian builds a sect for all those who don’t have a home. It is only thirteen years later that the cultivation world bothers to acknowledge him and his people, and only when they’re desperate for a favour.

Never let it be said that Wei Wuxian would allow himself to be used.

Turning, He Xuan saw six pairs of eyes staring at him curiously, and he grimaced before letting his face turn neutral. "Okay...I'm your caretaker, I guess..., He Xuan. Hopefully, this won't end in the house burning down..." All of them shared a look before staring at him and slowly narrowing their eyes. Yeah...yeah, hopefully... (It's not as bleak as the tags make it seem!) Summary: “Don’t pull that out!” Wen Qing yells, and she is right to do so. Wei Wuxian already has one hand on the shaft sticking out of his abdomen. His eyes are glazed over and his mouth is slack with shock, but he obeys anyway, lifting both of his hands and letting them drop to his sides. All he does is blink a few times. “Ah…, I’ve been stuck before. It’s not even that deep.” “Wei Wuxian!” He takes one step and half of another before his legs simply stop working and fold beneath him. An unexpected attack on the fringes of the Burial Mounds reminds Wen Qing how thin the thread holding their lives together truly is and just how easily it could be snipped. Pushed to the very fringes of the world she once knew and made to rely on someone else, her healer's hands no longer feel so clean. Kay's comments: This story is marked as a canon divergence, but I would even categorize it as a canon compliant story, since it's more slice of life than anything else. Absolutely devastating slice of life, that's for sure, but ultimately not changing how canon plays out. Set during the Burial Mounds Settlement days, Wei Wuxian gets attacked and poisoned and we take a good look at Wen Qing and her relationship with him. There's also some implied Wangxian, but since it's a story from Wen Qing's POV, it's pretty subtle. hauntedotamatone is a favourite author of mine and I love the way he writes the Yiling siblings and the Burial Mounds Settlement Days in particular. It's just really beautiful and hard-hitting writing. Excerpt: Like this. it’s easy to forget that he is little more than a boy, just a year or so older than A-Ning. They call him Laozu, but his face is bare and the only signs of age on him are a few prematurely silver hairs and dark rings beneath his eyes. It is easy to forget that she is not much older. The rest of the afternoon is spent clearing away the rocks and dry brush. Wen Qing uses a knife to cut away the dead vines and old, twisted roots. She isn’t one for treating her tools roughly and it’s not that it doesn’t bother her, but it’s safe to say she won’t be performing so many procedures that she’ll need this particular one. She has others and what’s needed most now is farm work, not surgery. Her little brother heaves rocks out of the way and Wei Wuxian goes between the two of them, lifting things he should probably not be lifting and tilling the soil in small batches to examine it. No further music is needed, but she notices that whenever she picks her head up to keep an eye on the nearby wards, his eyes are already on them, hands still in the dirt. There have been no attempts by any living or hostile beings to cross the barrier, but that does not mean it won’t happen.

Characters and plot won’t be as accurate to the inspired plot. Especially for this story which involves a lot of adults and teens an not much children. So many characters are left out simply due to the fact that a lot of npcs either didn’t fit the role, or were far too young for my standards.

I literally looked up all the different alliance of Xianzhou just to see which would be Wen sect. So here’s the reasoning.

Luofu: They don’t really have a specialty. Their main goal is to take out abundance cult.

Yaoqing: Much like Luofu, don’t really have a specialty. Aggressive and good at martial arts.

Zhuming: Their main export specialty is porcelain. According to Fandom wiki, the people here love playing with fire.

Yuque: They export jade abaci, thus making me think they’ll be wealthy due to it and technologically advanced/smart.

Fanghu: Exports a lot of marine things. Though it would make since to have Dan Heng come from here, but it would not make sense for other characters like March and Jing Yuan to have been born here. And it’s the closest in description to Yunmeng.

Xuling: Not much is really stated about this place on Fandom Wiki, but it looks like a place of law. But piggybacking off of the fact that not much is written about this area, Imma just gonna liken this area to Burial Mounds.
