🎃Day 31: Wei Wuxian's Birthday/Halloween🎃

You cannot convince me that WWX would /not/ drag his little family out trick or treating for his birthday, and make them all wear matching costumes.

And with this... ✨ that is the end of inktober 2024! ✨ I'm proud to report that I officially survived all 31 one days, and managed to do mostly full illustrations for every single day of the challenge. Honestly, even looking back at it now, that was bloody wild- I can't believe I made it!!

That being said I'm definitely going to need a break for a little bit now...

Basically, Luka is tired of being taken for granted and not able to be with whoever he falls for (because they always love someone else--Marinette and Adrien specifically). And so he becomes akumatized, who holds a concert that turns the audience into villains as well (excluding Miraculous holders who can resist it). Adrien feels hurt and had no idea what Luka was going through (and ultimately I imagine he or Chat Noir is the one to get through to Luka, to resist Halkmoth and break free).

Jiang Cheng arranges a boat for them to take on the lakes, even though there are no lotus seeds to eat this time of year. He hopes Wei Wuxian enjoys it, at least, and by the time they’re back Jin Ling should have arrived.

Lan Sizhui demurs rather than go on a boat, and Jiang Cheng recalls he gets seasick, or did on the trip to Lotus Pier after the failed siege of the Burial Mounds, so instead he introduces him to a lotus farmer so he can learn about the planting and cultivation of lotuses for what he presumes is a secret project for Wei Wuxian.

That leaves Jiang Cheng to his own devices until Jin Ling arrives, and he focuses on answering correspondence and not losing his temper at Ouyang-zongzhu’s ridiculous letter about walking corpses supposedly being the work of Wei Wuxian, who clearly is in no condition to fuck around with the undead right now, and who was in Gusu until yesterday besides.

Afterward, he spends his time going through the routine of Jiang moves, calming himself through the fluid movement, until he’s interrupted by a familiar voice calling him jiujiu.

He hopes Jin Ling won’t mind Wei Wuxian’s presence for his mother’s birthday, and is relieved when his nephew only nods and asks if they brought Jingyi or Sizhui with them.
