I saw some comments from Lizzie's fans , who say they love that relationship and they are beautiful together, because they are both so messed up. And I also read that they love it because their story is so dark and toxic and that is very realistic.

Now I'm starting to understand more how they see their story as true love and how they say the story with Grace is fantasy, and he never really loved her, and he always love Lizzie.

For them, when there is suffering in a relationship it is love, the worse Tommy treats Lizzie, it is equivalent to the love he feels for her, that's why they say that if he cheats on her with women, it means he loves her deeply. And there is not one scene where they show love for each other or are happy to be together, and her fans love that, because it confirms for them that this is true love, and he loves her completely.

And that's why they hate Grace so much, and her fans, because we consistently talk about the true love between Tommy and Grace, and it would be like denying them that the relationship between Tommy and Lizzie is one of love.

That's also why there is so much war, because each team, we have different ways of looking at a true love relationship.

It also makes you think about Lizzie's character , she has the same idea as her fans, of what a loving relationship would be like, she really thinks that Tommy is completely in love with her, and that accepting him cheating on her and telling him that he can do it but outside the house, for her that's strong and badass, and she thinks she is in control, which is the opposite. Tommy made her believe that it is okay for him to be with other women but not her with other men, because she belongs to him, she is his property, and he manipulates her to make her believe that this is a positive thing.

But it is also because Lizzie never received love, she does not know how to be truly loved, with affection, they never respected her, she thought that when she married Tommy, they would begin to respect her, and it never happened, not even the Shelbys nor Tommy respected her, much less upper class people like the Mosleys.

But Tommy, he knows what it is like to love him in a healthy way, with affection and love, and that you are the priority for that person and that person wants the best for you, and is happy to be with you, and he also knows how to love in a healthy way, he lived it with the relationship with Grace. So he knows that the relationship with Lizzie is completely wrong, it should never have happened , that's why he says he regrets marrying her.

In S5, he knew about the darkness of their relationship, he knew about there was no love and he knew he was using her and manipulating her but he didn't care because he was in a completely dark place , depressed, he wanted to die , he was trying to put himself in situations where he was risking and a lot, getting killed. At the time he couldn't see the damage, he was doing to Lizzie.

But by the end of S6, he was somewhere else in his mind, and he could see more clearly and that's when he realized this is wrong, she doesn't deserve this, there's nothing tying them together anymore, I'm going to let her go. They freed themselves from the toxic, because they were both willing to heal, and for that, they have to free themselves, with each other, because together, they will always bring out the worst in each other.

I think Tommy married Lizzie because he thought that's what he deserved because he hated himself.

Their relationship makes you think about how therapy is very important and it is fundamental to love yourself in order not to fall into this type of relationship.

Can we talk about how in the show Lestat and Armand are framed as narrative foils. Armand and Lestat who are both so aggressively theater kids, but Lestat who acts, who draws in the attention and holds it, and Armand who directs, who shapes and manipulates the narrative. Armand and Lestat's obsession with Louis and his love and frustration with his melancholy over Lestat and Claudia respectively. Who both felt second in his heart. Who fear loneliness above all else. Lestat taking what he wants to excess - no impulse control, and Armand letting things happen to him and trying to manipulate situations to get what he wants but never taking it. Armand, who even in the end, so much more powerful, never physically imposes himself on Louis. Armand who seeks complete control in subtle insidious ways. Lestat who seeks control in the physical. Armand and Lestat brought into vampire life in horrifying ways tangled up with SA. Armand who still talks about his maker with reverence, Lestat who hates his maker. Armand who pours all of himself into his partner, willing to shape himself into what they desire but ultimately needing control to feel safe. Lestat who pours all of his love into his partner but unwilling to change himself and ultimately cedes control in moments to maintain the relationship. Armand who clings to his breaking apart relationship for 77 YEARs, Lestat who let Louis go. Lestat and Armand who watch Claudia die, but one as a father and one as a murderer. Lestat and Armand so intense in their love but Lestat so painfully external and Armand so painfully internal as characters. Both constantly acting and putting on a face. Lestat as Mozart and Armand as Salieri (in the flashback scene!). Armand who loves routine and structure and repetion, Lestat who craves change and excitement. The calling cards are echos, who learned from who. Armand teaching Lestat the vampire gifts, Lestat teaching Armand a new way to live. on and on....

what is the theory that ivan manipulated the event where till and mizi met the wagyein?

It's not a theory, actually! It's confirmed that Ivan orchestrated the whole event. The true reason as to why however is still unknown. The information provides more context to this scene, though:

During the earlier times of ALNST the most rational explanation for this scene was that Till ran after a flower crown (presumably Mizi's) and Ivan followed him in out of curiosity. Now we know that Ivan was conveniently just standing there because he was waiting.

Side note, I find it heartbreaking (and maybe a little funny, sorry) that Till most likely didn't notice Ivan in this scene. That's just like him, isn't it. Always too busy running after Mizi while Ivan trails behind, an ever-present shadow.

I'm not sure how Ivan manipulated the circumstances for both of them to end up there, but it is confirmed that everything was intentional. What strikes me most is how they describe this particular scene:

I can't copy down what they said word-for-word (Patreon info), but they described Ivan watching "creepily" as Till and Mizi are faced with danger. We know that Ivan was familiar with the Cerberus wagyein beforehand, enough to touch its teeth and even to rest himself inside its maw. To Ivan, the wagyein is not dangerous, but to Till and Mizi, it could be. Ivan prepared the wagyein, led them there, and watched "creepily" from afar as Till fell on his knees, seemingly injured.

The closest I can get to making sense of Ivan's "scheme" is that he wanted to see how other children would react in a dangerous situation. Ivan's always been an observer, after all, and he's learned to survive by copying the more "normal" behaviors of his peers. This situation occured when Ivan was still young and had not yet developed his more charming mask, so perhaps he staged this encounter to study a situational response, to learn and mimic the emotion of fear. And what better subjects for the experiment than two of the most expressive and reactive humans of their batch? It helps that he was already fixated on Till beforehand, too. I think Ivan became irreversibly obssessed after this incident, especially since it's framed as a turning point in Ivan's life, comparing Till to the stars.

This is just my attempt at an interpretation, though. It could very well be for another reason. He most likely chose Till and Mizi specifically for personal reasons, not just for reaction. I'm still not sure on the purpose behind the whole thing.

The team wanted to capture Ivan's "dark emotions" through the shot of his stalking, which could relate to his more sinister intentions. His gaze can be read in a few different ways, though. Curiosity, interest, fear, etc. Maybe that's why they decided to redraw the shot in ROUND 6.

I think this better sells the feeling they were trying to convey.

Think some people don't understand the difference between actions in context.

For instance, this;

Is NOT toxic. Damon is keeping Elena out of a dangerous place she would definitely immediately be killed in. Katherine would kill her because Elena is the one Stefan wants and Katherine was written to only care about him. She says the 'doppelganger has to be protected' but with the inconsistency of this writing, she would just shrug and say 'we'll wait for the next one.'. Elena would not have hesitated to get trapped in that tomb in order to save Stefan. She probably would've offered up a vein if he ended up starved enough. Damon was saving her life.

Meanwhile this IS toxic.

Emma is trying to keep Regina was scurrying away and confronting her on the fact that the entire town is cursed and everyone was miserable, and that she was raised an orphan because of the selfish mayor and adopted abusive mother of her given up child. Regina had cared so little about her adopted son's actual feelings she had no problem trying to poison Emma. Unfortunately for her, Henry was too smart and ate the thing first, both to prove to his real mother that magic was real and Regina is evil. If Emma hadn't pinned Regina there, she would've kept gaslighting her about everything and tried to blame Emma for the fact Henry was in a sleeping curse.

The second picture is toxic as all hell. The first one is not. Again people, think for yourself.

they share pain and release anger and frustration and all that stuff onto eachother but dw dw this is how they love. but they do genuinely dislike eachother (because no matter how much they love one another they STILL can never manage to get over their differences and that's what makes them PEAK) but they also care for the other two and in their fucked up minds this is a good relationship. not because its not toxic because it definitely fucking is but because everyone is satisfied
