Morgana is scared out of her mind, but Hunith trusts her, because she's here and fighting for the little outlying village against Uther's will, so she only feels sympathy for the king's ward. Very cautiously she hooks Merlin up with Morgana, partly relieved her son won't have to struggle alone anymore, partly terrified to death herself because the poor children-- She does not skip the "don't get yourselves killed" speech and from then on Merlin spends less time restricted by Gaius and the Dragon and more time consulting with Morgana, while Morgana spends less time being gaslighted by Gaius and more time, once again, consulting with Merlin have a nice day.

Sleep well: Two words so much meaning!

Years later I realised that Morgana in "The Nightmare begins" gave Merlin the best farewell she could think of, SLEEP WELL!

She suffered so much from her prophetic dreams and even more in this episode because the "nightmares" affected her newly born magic and she longs for a good night's sleep. She can never have it so she wishes it to the one she feels closest to.

It's moments like this that I am sure that Morgana would have never betrayed Merlin if he had chosen to tell her about his own magic!

A softer golden era

bbc merlin is a show that has the power of queerbait and straightbait at the same time, and is not afraid to use it. I started watching for merthur and ended up shipping hard mergwen and mergana as well, only for none of these to happen.

Merlin had such a ridiculous amount of chemistry with everyone he met, the writers panicked and just killed everyone instead.
