“do you think my abusive partner can change” yeah man you know I’ve heard some stories where these dudes received massive traumatic brain injuries and it knocked the hatefulness clean out of them. my grandpa with Alzheimer’s brain is slowly dissolving and he’s nice now. if you want him to change you’re going to have to beat him within an inch of his life with a brick or wait 50 years for him to develop dementia. I think the better option is leaving.

I was raised in a really outdoorsy family and have been dragged out on family backpacking trips nearly every summer since I was old enough to carry my own sleeping bag, but it occurred to me that I don't actually know how common that sort of camping is for the Tumblr populus
#I did a 22 day backpacking trip where we had to lug everything around and we had like…. tarps instead of tents#that we had to hang and secure#i uh.. did not love it but i learned a lot i guess
