Jeremy Brett’s Holmes is so perfect. With his silly hats and cane and magnifying glasses, he’s so my desert of the day. The way he is getting all excited over a body is just like a 5 year old with their first Nintendo switch. If he doesn’t stop looking at his (very subtle Johnlock implication) Watson, I’ll start violently eating them both because why are you looking at him like he’s a 5 star course meal and desert???

Anon. Anon. I'm so sorry that I've taken forever to reply to this ask, but I hope you understand that this is one of the hardest tasks I've ever had to do I think for starters I'd recommend the 'big 3' bkdk fics. They're all popular for a reason, and if you're looking for something long and angsty, you can count on those to deliver. (Though, I will be honest here and tell you that I never finished twyutd, but from what I hear it's a super good fic!!)

As for specific recommendations, I'll try to condense my list of favorite fics wayyy down and then go on to name some authors that I love so this post doesn't go on forever So, after scrolling in a hot sweat through my bookmarks, here's the final list:

if you’re looking for the fucking CUTEST Christmas fic I have ever read in my life, then I’m BEGGING you to check out Silver Bells by heavily_caffeinated! I think I squealed, cried, giggled, whooped for joy, and groaned in frustration at these two goofballs about a million times while reading it, especially Chapter 21. I just finished reading it and oh my GOODD. ITS SO CUTE. IM GONNA DIE. FUCKING LANCE MCCLAIN THE MAN THAT YOU ARE.

If I’m being dead serious, it’s probably my favorite chapter of any fic I’ve read, EVER. No exaggeration. It’s fluffy, it’s mind-numbingly, tooth-rottingly sweet, but it ends you on a bit of a “DAMN IT KEITH” note. I could not be more excited for the end of this fic. The author does have a Tumblr, so please go over to @heavilycaffeinatedsblog and gush over how perfect their work is when you get the chance!

So that was a wonderful start to my day!

I also thought it was genius how at the end remus's attitude towards keeping his muggle life and his magic life separate became similar to hope's. they both lost so much yk

With the recent DDOS attack on AO3, I’ve seen some people sharing epubs of the fics they’ve downloaded. I’m a BIG fan of downloading fics — not just for situations like these, but for the pure fun and convenience of it! I love highlighting and making notes for all my favorite parts, and if the mood strikes me, I’ll even bust out Calibre and transfer them to my kindle with their own little custom covers.

The day before my last big road trip, I decided to do some very quick cover art for a few fics I had in my downloads. I wasn’t originally planning on posting them, but I thought maybe if someone else had saved these fics recently, then they might wanna use them too. These are all tomarry and all fantastic! ☺️

A Mundane Life is a fic series that is very very fluffy! AvenCaeTio is already an established ship with a lot of domestic fluff in the first fic with implied references to coitus.

AvenCae

Golden Sands by Konbini_Kitty is my favorite AvenCae fic! The way they protray the ship is really really nice! Fair warning this fic is rated M so please please please mind the tags. This fic protrays AvenCae with them as childhood friends with Aventurine finding Caelus abandoned by Elio on Sigonia! This fic also updates every couple months so it doesn’t update often.

Another Konbini_Kitty fic! New Outfit is pre-relationship fic with Caelus feeling bad about not having more outfits, and after finding out Aventurine was texting him; he decides to ask Aventurine where he can get some new outfits for himself! TLDR: Caelus gets spoiled by Aventurine

Code Blue by Monohid is about Caelus inviting Aven out to drinks so he can comfort him; in the descriptions own words “after the entire Penacony mess, Aventurine sends Caelus a whole lot of very vulnerable and surprisingly honest messages. Caelus, feeling that Aventurine might need a nice relaxing evening, invites him for drinks” It is based off of Aventurine’s text messages! Sadly the second chapter of it is not out yet.

DanCae

A Dragon’s Mark by Zaphyrus is a DanCae soulmates au! It is set during Herta Space Station, Belobog, and the Xianzhou. It is relatively fluffy but more slowburn than anything.

Secret Admier by Pharaohbean is a DanCae fic with Stelle as the TB; Stelle is in a relationship with March but that is very much a side ship. In this fic Caelus is an Emanator of Destruction and hiding it as long as possible from everyone. When Dan Heng and Caelus met it was before Dan Heng joined the AE. The fic IMO is a 10/10 but everyone has their own tastes.

Home In Your Arms by SaltedPossums is a hurt comfort fic going a bit over the fight with Cocolia, and mostly focuses on the aftermath with the fight against Cirrus. I can not express this enough with this fic but MIND THE TAGS ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THE FIC GOES OVER THE TOPIC OF DEATH

Ravager Restrained, Doubt Unchained by Riverpuppy is a fic that takes place as the aftermath of 1.2. It has Caelus going Nonverbal to be able to process everything that has happened on the Xianzhou up to that update. The fic is a hurt/comfort!

Home is where the Family (Heart) is by Liulangzhe is a pre-relationship fic of Caelus realizing he has feelings for Ratio; high spoilers for the 2.4 Update.

The cons of owning a warp trotter by Do_Ray_Mi is a fic in its own words “4 times Bubbles got in between Caelus and Dr.Ratio and the 1 time it brought them together” it in its tags has a lot of made up lore and honestly was a pretty funny fic. The fic is Not Rated so please mind the tags.
