For Drawings 12-13, the twins Apollon (Apollo) and Artemis Diana took a while. But it was worth it!

It took me some time to make Apollo figure out his hair and outfit. I made Apollo a Renaissance man, giving him elements of sun symbolism. One of his famous statues, the Piraeus Apollo, inspired Apollo's hair. I might go back to fix some character design details and make some improvements, hopefully before God Games in the Epic Musical comes out. Thank you so much to those who voted for Artemis Diana's design! Your votes helped influence her design. The Diana of Versailles statue was my biggest inspiration for Artemis, with some changes like leaning more into the moon theme. The coolest detail I discovered about that statue was when I saw in a recolored image of Diana of Versailles and in Artemis's depiction in The Death of Cenchirias painting by Sophie Frémiet Rude that her sandals looked like leaves. I had to include that in the final design. I might do another post to explain more about their designs.

For both twins part of the story, they haven't seen each other in years. After a terrible event and the growing issue of animal extinction, Artemis Diana went Feral and left Olympus, creating her own rebel cell, earning the name Feral Artemis. This left Apollo devastated that he was never the same, to the point that he now regrets his life for being a bully. Apollo is currently under much tension since Roma, the personification of Rome and the youngest daughter of Zeus and Hera, took over Artemis's former seat.

Anyway, that is out of the way. This may not be their final design, but I'll keep them like this for now. Next, the King of Parties, Dionysus!

Today, for the Legendary Challenge, Drawings 7 and 8, we got Demeter Ceres and Vesta Hestia.

To those who are still Frozen fans or not, let's all agree that the movie Frozen is a modern retelling of the Persephone story with some details changed here and there. Yes, I gave Demeter Ceres the Elsa look treatment but maintained the story art style. I discovered that someone made a fantastic mascarade dress of Demeter, and one of the pictures used for the project was an 1811 evening dress that got my imagination to go wild. But still, I made sure Demeter's dress was simple enough to wear while gardening or harvesting. I also took massive inspiration from the ancient depictions of Demeter Ceres from ancient art and statues like this one surviving statue with a crown. In this version of the tale, despite being a bit of a helicopter mom, she's a really nice goddess. Even the world's best grandma, according to some who have met her.

Vesta Hestia still looks the same as she did in ancient times, as always, like one famous statue of hers. Pose and all! Though she has the power to spark fire in the palms of her hands. Before the historians criticized me for replacing the ribbons with a crown on her head, let's say her hair is made of fire. I'm still working on the hair design behind the scenes to make sure I don't copy anyone else's design. Let's say Punderworld's version of Hestia got me thinking.

This may not be their final design, but I'll keep them like this for now. What I can confirm is that both ladies will play significant roles in the story. If anyone notices something about one of their designs that looks different, let's say I have secrets I can't reveal. Now it's Hermes' turn to shine!

one thing i love about epic's characterization is penelope and telemachus' songs. both of them have their solo song (telemachus' being legendary and penelope's being the challenge) but. they're not the only singers. both songs include an interjection from the suitors, and that. that is their reality. they can't live their lives without the suitors interrupting. in this essay i will-

Goodbye November, Hello December! To kick off the Festivities for the Legendary Challenge, Drawing 11, we got Hephaestus Vulcan.

For Hephaestus, I mixed his depictions from ancient art, famous paintings, and statues, and threw in some steampunk details. I'm glad Hullaballoo FINALLY came out and helped inspire Hephaestus gear. For some reason, I even love how Hephaestus's robotic C-3PO prosthetic leg reminds me of John Solo's video of The Revenge of Hephaestus and the version of the robotic prosthetic leg. I also found a book illustration that influenced Hephaestus's apron, belt, and scars. There are other forms of media I took inspiration from. Still, I like to ensure I don't copy anyone else's design, even by accident. I got worried that he looked a little similar to NeOlympus's version of Hephaestus with the pose and other details. So, a friend and I discussed how I should make the changes to stay original.

To describe what I have in store for Hephaestus is this. What if everything is slowly falling apart in your life? You don't think you and your spouse and children are not safe. Will you try to stay together as much as possible until you are ripped away from your family and who knows is going to happen to them, or convince your family to take the jump to start over your lives with better company but risk those you worked with coming after you and your family. What would you do? Let's say he was a part of making something that would haunt him for the rest of his life.

This may not be his final design, but I'll keep him like this for now. Now it's the twin's turn to shine and party! Apollo and Artemis!

I'm back and ALIVE! For those who have been patient and supported me during a rough time, Thank You! For my end-of-the-year challenge, the Legendary Challenge, for Drawings 5 and 6, we got Hades and Neptune Poseidon.

Hades was inspired by Gomez Addams, his ancient Greek and Roman art, and a mixture of Italian Renaissance and Regency men's fashion. For skin color, I decided to make it a light green like Deet's from The Dark Crystal franchise. Just don't call Hades Pluto. Pluto is the family puppy of Cerberus. Hades has no idea how the Romans got that confused unless Pan or Eros decided to prank him.

Neptune Poseidon looks like his typical self still. Neptune was inspired by his ancient Greek and Roman art and his descriptions according to surviving texts and Triton from The Little Mermaid (1989). Even Neptune's trident was inspired by Triton's trident and the trident from The Return of Neptune painting by John Singleton Copley.

This may not be their final design, but I'll keep them like this for now. Now it's Hestia's and Demeter's turn!

In "Odysseus", when Telemachus is introduced, he has a 10-second instrumental part.

(This makes more sense with the animatic from the watch/premier party)

The timing of the different components of the instrumental aligns with the descriptive on-screen titles. Right?

It gets better.

When it says "Brave Prince of Ithica" you can hear quick guitar playing along with his motif. Who'se main instrument is a guitar?! The Prince of Ithica... The Heir to the King... Odysseus' son...

BUT!

When it says "The Little Wolf" there is a slower viola melody playing... He is the underestimated Prince... Protector of his family... His Mother's Little Wolf...

AND!

When Athena flashes on-screen, there is a staticky sound that resembles her fazing in and out of existence, a form of protection. Her Piano plays continuosly throughout the lats part of the instrumental.

BUT THATS NOT EVEN THE COOLEST PART!!!

Right before that, ^(Athena's piano)^

"Warrior(s) of the Mind!" Odysseus and Telemachus being Athena's chosen champions. Penelope outsmarting suitors for 20 years. And Athena herself- When the screen says "Warrior of the Mind" The music is at its loudest and creates a medley of the guitar, viola, piano and the electronics. With the Indie piano being emphasized and "framed" by the other instruments (framed, for lack of a better word) This is all being played as Telemachus' motif.

BUT ITS LOUDER!!! Telemachus' motif has never been as loud or incorporated as many instruments as that exact moment in "Odysseus". It represents the passage of time since the wisdom saga, and how he's grown to become this brave, dynamic character.

Finally done with the Color Wheel Challenge

Hey everyone, long time no see 🥲

I haven't been very inspired to say the least- which sucks since I'm finally free from University and work lol but I hope inspiration will come again! I'm also not very happy with my art style therefore I'll try to explore different styles and do some art studies.

That's why this event was SO helpful for me! I joined the KASS event (Klancer Art Swap Style) and it was so fun! I swapped with Isaac (@/isaackyraccoon on Instagram) who is an amazing artist that you should absolutely follow!

I hope I did his style justice, I'm pretty happy with it and I'm glad I got to explore a different style, this gave me a new perspective on art 💗
