Like don't you guys see it? Warrior of the mind is like the best title you can be given in the universe of Epic. It means to be favoured by a goddess of wisdom and war. It means to be strong, smart and a supreme fighter.

And you know what would be even better?

If Ody just smiled and said "What I really want to be is your friend"

One of my favourite things about the epic fandom is the little phases it goes through. The time after the release of the thunder saga where everyone was feeling bad about the siren and her special interests. The popularity of the trope where astynax survives before the cyclops and ocean sagas came out. The obsession with elpenor and perimedes. The winion Polites smuggles onboard the ship. Ctimene and Eurylochus. Hell, the manwhore au. The warrior penelope. One of the best fandoms I have been in, hands down. Everybody is so sweet. I absolutely adore how close the fandom and jay and the cast are. About how artists like wolfy and gigi are closely tied to the cast and people within the fandom. The fanfiction authors, ranging from people just beginning their writing journey to proper established authors. The artists. Basically its late and im slightly sleep deprived and overcome with emotions while listening to the entire saga.

The new sagas always come out at midnight where I live. And so usually I lie in bed in complete darkness, tricking the entire household into thinking I'm asleep, when in reality I'm listening to a new epic saga.

Let me tell you, when Ody sang "danger is my friend" (as a play on Hermes's "dangerous, my friend) my eyes lit up so much I thought somebody would notice

no but can you imagine how helpless and furious and DESPERATE to get home odysseus must've felt after he travelled through hells and into the underworld itself only for the prophet to reveal that he not only sees YOUR PALACE covered in red but also sees your WIFE, who odysseus hasn't seen in years, with a man "who is haunting"  and has a "trail of BODIES". imagine being odysseus and thinking there is another man with your beloved wife, and a mostrous one at that, while you are miles away unable to do anything about it. man was on his knees with desperation and buddy i'd be the same if not worse.

you know what’s really sad about “remember them”? by the time odysseus gets back to ithaca all six hundred men will be dead. they’ll have been gone for five years. there’s no way odysseus will remember them all. polites, eurylochus, sure, but not all of them. they will die in vain.
