-> the most likely scenario is that you had just faced one of the worst heartbreaks in your life— losing a family member, a regular breakup, whatever

-> Hestia, being who she is, would probably not be able to bear the sight of someone in pain, guiding the fire to warm you up, flames flickering up towards you as if in a comforting manner

-> her presence is a very comforting and homely feeling and when she concentrates on a particular hearth, her power increases tenfold

-> probably resulting in you dozing off in a cozy armchair, fast asleep like your world hadn't just come crashing down around you

-> she watches you sleep so peacefully (but like- in a non creepy way)

-> she keeps on at it for a while, watching you do your daily chores for a while, admiring you from a safe distance and slowly falling for you

-> I don't think Hestia would even bother trying to disguise herself as a regular human to you, she just pops up in your fireplace one day and shyly starts a conversation

-> watching all the different people walk by with their dogs, significant others, etc, etc makes her very happy

-> she'll point out to you all the small, gorgeous details your eyes might've missed

->dresses up like a local that the people know well by now and takes you to her favourite parts of her homeland <3

->when it comes to the issue of her being an immortal goddess and you being a regular ol mortal with a short life span (compared to her anyway), she'll try to convince you to let her feed you nectar

->obviously, you say something along the lines of 'fuck no'

->she's devastated when you abandon her at the table in the restaurant she took you to, to run away

->keeps popping up in the hearth whenever you light your fire (only for you to extinguish the flames with water)

->she finally gets you to have a normal, healthy conversation with her when she catches you off guard while you're napping by the fireplace

->would probably end with a compromise (somehow) that she'd make your closest friends and family immortal with you so that you'd all be able to live together

->after that, your relationship is pretty much smooth sailing

->Hestia isn't a very possessive or jealous person and she usually communicates that she's uncomfortable when she is

->cuz, y'know...she's actually sane (unlike the rest of her siblings and nephews and nieces)

->adopts an animal with you, a hundred percent <3

->likes cuddling you in her hearth, because it's so warm and cozy that you always end up falling asleep on her chest

->and she likes that :)

->takes you up to Olympus because she isn't scared of someone else taking you away

->none of the gods would even try because who would want to make Hestia upset? (especially cause it's mostly out of fondness, rather than terror *cough cough* Athena *cough cough*)

->anyway, she's probably one of the best girlfriends in the world <3

->can't and doesn't marry you because of her vow, but gives you a promise ring and lets you give her one if you really wanted to <3

->mostly just overly clingy, staying by your side whenever she can and hearth-hopping to wherever you go— work, out with friends, etc

Hestia is the first of the Theoi I ever gave offerings to, and the first of the Theoi I ever owned a statue of.

As a queer person, 'hearth and home' have often been a bittersweet concept for me. The house where I lived for most of my childhood was sold when I was 13, when we moved back into the house I was born in. That house, the house I always considered home, was then sold a couple of years ago. I didn't even have a chance to say goodbye as I had already cut ties with my biological family at that point (yet another reason why hearth and home are bittersweet for me).

Over the past 5 years I have lived in three different houses, but none of them have felt like "home". Instead - home has, for me, become a feeling. The feeling I get when my partner returns from work, the joy I experience with our pets, the laughter that comes even when the world around us is crumbling.

This is what Hestia is, not the walls or the foundation or even the land surrounding the two, but the feeling of family. The feeling of loving and being loved by those who you choose to value and value you in return.

Thank You to all who voted! More God and Goddesses Designs are coming very soon! However, I wanted to get this small, rough comic out there. Now, excuse me. I got to help Demeter hold off Juno Hera from attacking Vesta Hestia!

Today, for the Legendary Challenge, Drawings 7 and 8, we got Demeter Ceres and Vesta Hestia.

To those who are still Frozen fans or not, let's all agree that the movie Frozen is a modern retelling of the Persephone story with some details changed here and there. Yes, I gave Demeter Ceres the Elsa look treatment but maintained the story art style. I discovered that someone made a fantastic mascarade dress of Demeter, and one of the pictures used for the project was an 1811 evening dress that got my imagination to go wild. But still, I made sure Demeter's dress was simple enough to wear while gardening or harvesting. I also took massive inspiration from the ancient depictions of Demeter Ceres from ancient art and statues like this one surviving statue with a crown. In this version of the tale, despite being a bit of a helicopter mom, she's a really nice goddess. Even the world's best grandma, according to some who have met her.

Vesta Hestia still looks the same as she did in ancient times, as always, like one famous statue of hers. Pose and all! Though she has the power to spark fire in the palms of her hands. Before the historians criticized me for replacing the ribbons with a crown on her head, let's say her hair is made of fire. I'm still working on the hair design behind the scenes to make sure I don't copy anyone else's design. Let's say Punderworld's version of Hestia got me thinking.

This may not be their final design, but I'll keep them like this for now. What I can confirm is that both ladies will play significant roles in the story. If anyone notices something about one of their designs that looks different, let's say I have secrets I can't reveal. Now it's Hermes' turn to shine!
