I found this on Twitter... They really had to resort to fillers because they don't have anything in the manga to create that 'parallel.' Honestly, in this regard, Sakura and Sarada couldn't be more different. Sakura is very insecure, especially towards Ino, who represents everything she aspires to be. Sadly, Sakura never overcame her insecurities. In contrast, Sarada has never been toxic towards her friends. She admitted to being envious of ChoCho's 'carefreeness,' and that's about it. She's shown to be genuinely happy for ChoCho at the end of Gaiden, and their friendship is cute. As for her friendship with Sumire, Sarada acknowledged her mistakes and was honest with Sumire without antagonizing her. She couldn't be more different from her mother in that regard. If anything, Sarada and Sumire are written to be the opposite of Sakura and Ino. The idea that they consider Sakura a good friend for Ino is laughable.
Sorry for the rant...

Hi Good afternoon, I hope you are enjoying good health.<( ̄︶ ̄)>
Considering that Hinata and Sakura never showed outstanding development in the story, and taking into account that there are characters with much greater potential such as Kushina, Shizune, young Chiyo, Mei Terumi, Mabui, Samui, Karin, Mito, or even Kurotsuchi, is it really worth rewriting them or investing time in them? The fanon versions of both are pure favoritism from their fans, whereas characters like Ino and Temari, in my opinion, are far more interesting. I was even disappointed that Temari was given scenes copied from Sakura, repeating the “punching someone” formula instead of exploring her maturity, as is shown in the manga.
The marketing that tries to present Sakura as a skilled fighter is questionable: she never displayed great combat strategies, only brute strength without planning. She was sold as intelligent, yet rarely applied that intelligence on the battlefield something even Naruto has managed to do better at times. Her praised chakra control is also partly due to her having smaller reserves than other ninjas, not necessarily to exceptional talent.
As for Hinata, she barely had any relevance in the manga. Her only notable fight was against Neji, and in it, her cousin outshined her. Fans can say whatever they want, but Hinata did not have the same level of talent as Hanabi or Neji. And just like Sakura, she is not a brilliant strategist. Even if her team specialized more in tracking, a ninja should still know how to fight and her scene against Pain was disappointing. The same goes for Sakura’s fight against Sasori: Chiyo did almost all the work, maneuvering her like a puppet. If Sasori had wanted to, he could have finished both of them off, and that was made quite clear.
The reality is that many praise Hinata simply because she belongs to a prestigious clan and possesses the Hyūga’s Dōjutsu, but as Kishimoto himself stated, she doesn’t like to fight.
Regardless of whether Sakura or Hinata were part of Team 7, the priority was always Sasuke and, secondly, Naruto one for being the village’s jinchūriki, and the other for the potential to awaken the Sharingan. From that perspective, isn’t it a waste of narrative resources to try to “fix” Hinata and Sakura instead of dedicating those efforts to characters with greater relevance and projection in the story? Unfortunately, the Japanese audience connected more with Hinata than with Sakura, and honestly, I’m concerned by how popular both are here in the West.
And although not everyone has to agree with this opinion, this is simply a vent: I’m tired of searching for information or content about other characters and repeatedly coming across posts centered on these two. I rarely see recognition for other female characters, though I’m glad that some of it goes to ones truly worth it, like Tsunade, Kushina, Mikoto, or Konan.
Hi anon!
I hope you're fine aswell.
I don't really know where to start, your ask has so many interesting points I totally understand your point of view. Why rewritting Sakura & Hinata when there are other characters more interesting? That's a fair argument, honestly.
I just wanted to quote you on that—I totally agree. The only time I found Sakura truly intelligent in a fight was against Sasori, when she used the antidote to heal herself in a way that Sasori wouldn't anticipate, using it to her advantage to break a puppet. As for Naruto, it's not just 'at times'; he's far smarter on the battlefield, and that was already evident during his fight against Zabuza.
You mention a lot of other female characters, but my favorites are actually Tsunade, Ino, and Konan. I try to post about Tsunade and Ino on my blog, but sadly, I never receive asks about Ino or Konan. I think a story about young Chiyo would be very interesting, now that you mention it. I always thought she was a great character in the Gaara retrieval arc. I really appreciate the contrast between her and the younger generation in Sunagakure. Her perspective as part of 'the older generation' is interesting. Honestly, I think Kishimoto portrayed her well in the fight against Sasori. She only appears in one arc, but she manages to have a compelling story, unique techniques, challenges, and development.
As for Mei, I wish she had been more developed. I would love to know more about the changes she made in her village. I feel she could be a character I'd really enjoy if Kishimoto had taken the time to develop her further. I'm also curious about the relationship she would have with Tsunade; they seemed to be on good terms
Maybe it's weird, but I don't think Shizune needs to be rewritten. A story needs characters like her. She's very useful, competent, and serves as a great supporting character for Tsunade. If I could change something about her, I would draw a parallel between Kabuto and her—not in personality, but as highly competent ninjas working with a sannin who sometimes get overlooked by the narrative (and the fans) in favor of Sasuke and Sakura. Kabuto actually became a perfect sage and developed the Edo Tensei far more than Orochimaru. Meanwhile, Shizune, despite not having the Byakugou, has her own poison-based attacks and is consistently shown to be competent as a medic. During the Pain arc, she's the one who performs the autopsy on the corpse 'obtained' by Jiraiya, something Sakura never got to do. Shizune is also shown to heal Neji perfectly in the first part while Tsunade heals Choji. What I mean to say is that Shizune does the 'less flashy work.' It's always said that 'Sakura isn't useless; she's a medic,' but her fans never seem to praise Shizune as if she doesn't exist.
Sorry, I feel like I'm venting too...
I think I'll stop my answer here because I could talk for hours about these characters. If you want to discuss a specific female character (like Konan, Shizune, or anyone else you mentioned in your ask), I would gladly respond. Just one at a time so I can focus on them and provide a satisfying answer. I feel like I forgot half of your ask...

To those who thought Sarada would end up like Sakura, I hope the new chapter proved them wrong.
Honestly, did Sakura ever apologize to Ino or acknowledge her mistakes towards her? While I didn't like the drama between Sarada and Sumire a few chapters ago, I have to admit that the recent chapter handled their relationship well.
Sarada approached Sumire, apologized, and explained her feelings without antagonizing her. Then they concluded their conversation like this:
Tumblr media
Sarada is allowed to develop a bit, and Sumire and Sarada remain friends despite liking the same guy. It works well enough. Let's hope this marks the end of their 'conflict' so they can grow together. However, there's still Eida, who is upset that they didn't include her in the conversation...

Personally, I really liked the Hinata from Road to Ninja. It’s like seeing an alternate version of the same character what she could have been if she hadn’t been that shy girl. Many fans who write fanfics with her in Team 7, instead of Sakura, end up making her the team’s medic. That’s not bad after all, we did see her give Naruto an ointment during the Chunin Exams but the fanfics I enjoy most don’t just make her a medic. They also have her use her Byakugan more actively to support Naruto and Sasuke; In those versions, Hinata grows with the team, gets support from both to build confidence, and comes out of her shell. Many have even nicknamed this alternate trio the “Otsutsuki Team.”
On another note, I personally don’t see much point in the fandom trying to connect the Uzumaki clan more closely to the Uchiha clan. I suppose the few interactions we saw in the series really stuck with people, but I find it impossible. I think their relationship would have been tense after Madara took control of the Nine-Tails and Mito became the first jinchūriki. If I remember correctly, the Uzumaki were related to and allied with the Senju clan. The Senju and Uzumaki were on good terms, even holding marriages between their members, like Hashirama Senju and Mito Uzumaki. Because of that alliance, they probably remained cautious toward the Uchiha their relationship wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. I also can’t imagine the Uzumaki having a positive view of the Uchiha, and we have no idea what the Senju might have said about them.
Lastly, I sometimes wonder why people try to rewrite Sakura’s character in such a fanon way that she ends up feeling like a completely different person. Honestly, I wouldn’t “fix” her. I see her as someone who wouldn’t have had much hope of advancing as a kunoichi if she hadn’t insisted that Tsunade Senju train her. I also don’t see her surpassing her teacher: Tsunade is a Senju clan member, while Sakura comes from a civilian family. I just don’t see the appeal, and I’m sorry to her fans. If you want to praise a “normal” character who went far without belonging to a clan with a kekkei genkai, there’s Might Guy, Jiraiya, Minato, Dan, and I’d even add Shizune who, despite not having the Byakugō Seal, is still a much better medic than Sakura herself.I also don’t understand why people give her abilities she never showed in the series. For example, that supposed “axe” is pure marketing. She can’t even last long in a fight without someone having to save her, and her battle against Sasori wasn’t anything remarkable Chiyo helped her a lot. The few exciting kunoichi battles we saw that were actually decent include: Konan vs. Obito, Tsunade and Mei Terumi vs. Madara, and Kushina holding down the Nine-Tails. Beyond that, we never see a truly great battle from a standout kunoichi that doesn’t involve these characters. Sakura and Hinata, meanwhile, just made fools of themselves by charging in against dangerous opponents without a plan. And I’m not even going to count Hashirama’s words about her having strength greater than Tsunade’s he probably died when she was a child.
Hello anon!
Let's start with the Uzumaki and the Uchiha being close. In canon, the Uzumaki & the Senju come from the same brother (Ashura) and allied together. The marriage between Mito & Hashirama seems to be of convenience. Like you, I don't think the Uchiha & the Uzumaki were close, but it doesn't really bother me that in fanfics, people try to write them closer. It's what fanfics are for, after all.
As for the rest, i'm confused. Why is it okay to rewrite Hinata, but not Sakura? You understand why Hinata's fans want to include her in team 7, but not why Sakura's fans want her to surpass her master or give her a new ability? I have to admit, I don't really get where you're coming from. I mean, I prefer the idea of Sakura wielding a double axe than Hinata being in team 7. Sakura fighting with a battle axe would change only her (and not that much, in my opinion). To fit Hinata in team 7 and create the team dynamic they envision, they would need to alter not only Hinata but also Naruto and Sasuke.
To be honest, people always rewrite their favourite character in fanfic. Hinata & Sakura aren't the only characters that feel completely different in those stories.
The nickname of "the Ôtsutsuki team/trio" feels so cringe to me. It was created just to give Hinata some importance she doesn't have in canon. In reality, Kishimoto wouldn't have written a very different story than the one in the manga if Hinata had been in Team 7 instead of Sakura.

What do you think about the possibility of Tsunade becoming the Fifth Hokage shortly after the death of the Fourth Hokage? I believe that, out of empathy and foreseeing how Naruto would be treated, she would have taken better care of him. I even think she could have prevented the Uchiha massacre, since Danzō acted when she was in a coma after Pain’s attack. Had she been active, she would have eliminated him along with Root, except for the members he had manipulated. Tsunade had already shown her character in situations such as her confrontation with the elders Koharu and Homura, as well as when she faced Madara.
Hi anon!
Thanks for the ask.
I think it would be a great start for a fanfic. I have no idea what Kishimoto would have written if he had decided to explore that, but fanfics and AUs are there for us to imagine another world.
In many fanfics, Tsunade appears to heal people after the Kyubi attack, and maybe Hiruzen would have called her for that. But why would she stay? To keep an eye on Naruto? She's the woman who took Shizune under her wing because she was Dan's niece, and we know from Minato's one-shot that she at least knew of them. Plus, Kushina is indirectly her cousin, so why not? Shizune asked to stay in the village, and Tsunade agreed, which could be another reason. Or perhaps Jiraiya and Hiruzen convinced her to take the hat for whatever reason. There are many possibilities, and I think you could group all those reasons together.
I'm going to be honest, I'm probably biased towards Tsunade. She's one of my favourite characters and I really don't like Hiruzen. I think she's a better hokage than him. She literally had to deal with the consequences of the errors from the past & precessors.
Concerning the dynamic between Danzo and Tsunade, it would be vastly different from the one he had with Hiruzen.
1. Tsunade isn't Danzo's friend; she feels no attachment to him. She tried to kill Orochimaru when he came to her for help after he killed their sensei, so why would she have mercy for Danzo if he tried something?
2. Tsunade isn't 'weak-willed' like Hiruzen. She's younger, has a temper, and her ideals and convictions are stronger.
3. As you mentioned, she doesn't blindly follow her advisors' thoughts. In fact, I'd even say she actively chooses other people to support her. I feel like Shikaku is more involved in politics during Tsunade's reign than before.
4. Even if I don't like Hiruzen, he has experience, and in this AU where he's alive, he could provide Tsunade with valuable advice.
5. She was able to make connections with other Kages in canon. While it may seem flimsy, it shows she's willing to work with other villages.
So what would she have changed? Maybe she would have treated Naruto better. One thing that never made sense to me is that Naruto's secret was revealed. Tsunade isn't naive; she wouldn't have allowed that. Imagine if only a few people knew about Kurama being sealed inside Naruto—so many things could have been different. Another point is that the idea of getting Yamato (Tenzo) into Naruto's life might have happened sooner. In Minato's one-shot, Kushina has two (or three?) ANBU guards. Perhaps Yamato (or someone else) would have been that person for Naruto.
Can we talk about the affair between the Hyuga and Kumo? As I mentioned before, she's willing to work with other villages. I wonder if her personality would have changed something in that situation. I like to think yes, but I'm not sure how.
As for the Uchiha massacre... Honestly? Maybe. I'm going to say something controversial, but between Tsunade and Minato, I would bet on Tsunade to successfully avoid the massacre. Her brother died for Konoha, which is why she advocated for a medic in each team. So killing children from their own village for Konoha? That feels so wrong for her character. Plus, I think she would be smart enough to understand that the Uchiha want to be heard and respected. One idea? Take Fugaku as an advisor—just a thought.
Regarding Danzo, in canon, she was wary of him, especially when he tried something. So if she heard about Root, she would probably have dismantled it, as you mentioned. I wonder if Danzo would have tried to kill Tsunade or seize power. Or maybe he would have attempted to manipulate Hiruzen.
To avoid the massacre, even if she gives the Uchiha a place among her counselors, you have to 'erase' Danzo from the equation. Danzo only makes sense to me if Hiruzen is the Hokage because you can't convince me that anyone else would have allowed him to be so powerful and influential in the village.
Even if she avoids certain things or improves situations (like for Naruto, for example), there would still be problems to handle. If she doesn't allow Danzo to do whatever he wants, he would create other problems and issues. There's also Orochimaru, who is a whole problem by himself. Imagine if Danzo continued to work with him behind Tsunade's back because he couldn't seize power on his own.

Wanted to reblog it after my last post. How is Naruto supposed to love her when Hinata doesn't know the real him?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, it's great that 'she took the right path' by watching Naruto from afar, but it isn't really about Naruto, is it? It's more about her than him. When she talks about 'his smiling face,' you have to wonder if she knows anything else. Naruto hides his sadness behind his smile (something Kakashi basically told Inari in the very first arc). Naruto isn't all rainbows and sunshine; he's so much more than that. He has a lot of anger, sadness, and other issues, and she doesn't know about any of it. And how would she? She never made an effort to get to know him outside of that.
Since the Chunin Exams, they've had only two interactions, one of which is Hinata fainting. NaruHina isn't even built on love, but on guilt...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Naruto takes everything on his shoulders during the war. Basically, since the Pain Arc, he's been trying to be the hero everyone wants him to be. He has to save the world; he's the child of the prophecy. In a way, Hinata contributes to this. I don't know; that ship really makes me uncomfortable when you consider everything. Hinata has to remind him that everyone counts on him to get back on his feet, and she also needs Kurama's help.
Tumblr media
That whole situation is so weird. They really said, 'Let's remind the boy he isn't his own person anymore and that he has to save everyone'.
In contrast, Sasuke doesn't need anything like that—just two lines.
Tumblr media
Honestly, Hinata's reason for 'loving' Naruto has been the same since she was a child. It started as admiration but never truly matured. She barely interacted with him, her reasons never changed, and she doesn't know the other sides of him. It can't be more than admiration or a crush. Maybe at first, you could consider her reason for admiration to be 'genuine' but in the long term, it's very superficial.
I wonder where the claim "Hinata is the one who understands Naruto the most/the best" comes from. I've seen many Hinata/Naruhina say that... and I know the need to make Hinata more important in Naruto's life/manga definitely plays a role in it. But still, Hinata is never allowed to understand him outside of the vision she has of him in the beginning of the manga.
In the chunin exams, we are told by Hinata that she identifies with him because like her, he's considered like a loser. But, she also admires him because he never gives up and constantly tries to better himself. And that's her inspiration. So, I'm going to make something clear there, that's not something very special to her. Basically, Lee could tell from a few interactions that Naruto was seen as a loser and he refused to be looked down. Something he can also understand quite well, since he's in a similar (even worse) situation.
But what did she understand outside of it ? That he doesn't abandon his friends ? Yes thank you, it's made clear by Naruto and the narrative to e v e r y o n e (from Obito to the Konoha 11 to every unnamed shinobi) during the war arc. Is it this scene where she says to Naruto that she can recognises him because of his eyes the cement of this claim ? I'm sorry, but I need more than that.
Hinata likes the bright side, his never give up attitude, his smile and well (idk) his kindness towards her (I think ?). But that's all she sees/understands. (You're free to interprete it the way you want. I just state what everyone would see with open eyes.)
When did she get his loneliness ? It's basically Sasuke's role, not Hinata. What about his struggles as a jinchuriki ? Enter Gaara and Killer B. His teammates (yes Sakura and Kakashi) are actually allowed to witness it, to see a bit of the horror that he's going throught because of his status.
Maybe his need to save Sasuke, the importance of their bond in his life ? Yeah sorry, but Sai did more efforts than her to understand the love Naruto has for Sasuke and Sai is said to be ignorant of feelings. When the Konoha 11 confront Naruto about it at the end of the Kage summit arc, she doesn't even question him. But her teammate Kiba does. Neji does, who is also allowed to support Naruto's need to save Sasuke in part 1.
Oh well, maybe she understands how depressed he was after Jiraiya death ? It was Shikamaru's role, not Hinata's. And Iruka was the other one who tried to console him. In this part of the arc, she's nowhere to be seen. I will not continue more, but I'm sure there's more examples of it.
So now, I'm asking again... where does this claim come from ? Because the Naruto's manga doesn't give the answer and neither Boruto. In the Boruto's movie, it's Sasuke who talks about Naruto's struggles as a child to Boruto, not Hinata (his mother). I know the anime tried with the "Naruto was a problem child... But I always thought he was cool" or something along those lines with Hinata, but that's kinda... shallow ?

Naruto Gaiden : The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring
In this manga, Kishimoto defines family by love. Blood and history don't make a 'family,' at least not to Naruto. While the manga primarily focuses on Sarada and her 'relationship' with Sasuke and Sakura (her parents), we also get a glimpse of the relationship between Naruto, Boruto, and Hinata (though Himawari isn't mentioned).
In the very first chapter, we're shown several father-child relationships, which serve as a parallel to Sarada and her absent father, explaining why she later seeks to meet him. Among those relationships, we see Boruto and Naruto.
Tumblr media
It sounds like a 'normal problem': a son trying to get his father's attention. This has always been Boruto's struggle; he wants to have Naruto home like he used to. Now, Naruto is the busiest man. However, if you look deeper into their interactions, the family appears unhappy, and the love between Naruto and Hinata is very questionable—at least from Naruto's perspective.
For example, Naruto left the village knowing that Hinata was sending Boruto to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From Shikamaru's words (and the fact that Sarada and Chocho were still there), we can infer that Naruto may have left just a few minutes earlier. So the question is: why didn't Naruto wait for a few minutes? Unless he has become very slow since the War Arc, Naruto is one of the fastest men alive (along with Sasuke). It's not like he couldn't have waited a little longer, especially considering that Boruto was coming with a bento from Hinata, his wife.
So why? Did he want to avoid Boruto? Didn't he care about the effort Hinata put into preparing a meal for him? Through Sarada's words, we learn that a bento is more than just food; it's about the person who made it for you. Boruto understands this too, as he thinks about his own mom, which is why he ultimately gives the bento to Sarada.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ironically, when Sarada gives the bento to Naruto, he doesn't think of Hinata; instead, he thinks of Team 7.
Tumblr media
Why does Kishimoto write about the bento if Naruto doesn't think of the 'special person who made it for him'? Isn't Hinata, his wife, special to him? He obviously knows that Hinata prepared it and not Sasuke or Sakura (sorry...). We already know from the manga that Sasuke (and Team 7) is very special to him, but this would have been a good opportunity to show his 'love' for Hinata. So why reinforce Sasuke and Sakura's importance in his life instead?
Later, Kishimoto has another opportunity to highlight Hinata's significance (or lack thereof) when Sarada confronts the 'revelation' that Sakura isn't her biological mother. She thinks that she doesn't have a real family, and Naruto tries to convince her that there's more to family than blood and history. For all I know, Hinata and Naruto are not connected by blood, but who does he think about?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Iruka and Sasuke are his family. And the last nail in the coffin? He defines the link between them by love. In other translations, I've also seen 'feelings,' but it doesn't change much. So, did Kishimoto really miss two opportunities to show the love Naruto has for Hinata? It's hard to believe.
It wouldn't be the first loveless married couple, nor the last. But it contradicts the narrative established in the last. Naruto doesn't spare a single thought for Hinata, even when he has two opportunities to do so...

From Naruto's generation, I feel like Team 10 is the 'better team.' While Shikamaru is the most developed of the three, Ino and Choji also received development in terms of abilities and personality. As a team, they work well together and are complementary, as seen in the Chunin Exams, the Akatsuki Suppression Mission, and the War Arc. They even got their own arc. None of them feels like a third wheel; they didn't disappear into the background in the second part.
Kishimoto clearly invested time in them and wrote their characters well enough. They are a well-rounded team, with each character's strengths covering the weaknesses of the others. They truly fight as a team, using combined techniques (the essence of Ino-Shika-Cho, I know). Each member is essential to the formation, and you can't replace any of them.

Another thing about Road to Ninja: if anything, it reinforces the fact that Naruto has a family, and that family is Iruka. The scene where Iruka waits for Naruto to come back home with a cake is very cute. I know that movie is filler, like all of Naruto's movies, but it respects the canon characterization, and I'm glad for that.

It's weird to me that people call Sarada ungrateful towards Sakura and a crybaby in Naruto Gaiden.
She never gets to know her father before Naruto Gaiden. Her mother doesn't answer her questions, lies to her, and in the manga, she's literally shown using violence to silence Sarada. Then, when Sarada meets Sasuke for the first time, he doesn't recognize her and almost kills her. After a test, she's led to believe that Sakura, the person who raises her, isn't her mother. I believe those reasons are enough for her to cry and be upset. Why is Sarada blamed and not her parents? Why is she expected to be 'mature' in this situation?
I'm not saying Sarada is perfect and can't be criticized, but in that specific situation, she isn't the one at fault. She's literally only 11 years old.

It's interesting to me that Sakura's stans call Naruto a 'harasser' but don't direct that same energy towards Sakura herself. What do you think Sakura did with Sasuke? She literally had to chase him again after the manga, despite being rejected for the umpteenth time. He wanted to be left alone on his journey to discover the world, and she refused to let him because she wanted him. If anything, it shows that her wish to bring him back to the village was never about his safety, but about her feelings and her need for validation.
It's valid to say that Sakura isn't obligated to return Naruto's 'affection,' but where is this argument when it comes to Sasuke?
And don't come at me with Naruto Gaiden. That manga literally shows how dysfunctional their relationship is. Sakura and Sasuke both seem miserable and uncomfortable together, and Sarada almost left because of their mess.

Why do so many fans portray Tajima, Madara’s father, as somehow “better” than Butsuma, Hashirama’s father? Both were shinobi living in a brutal era, and both saw their children as tools in an endless war. Yet, much of the criticism directed at Butsuma seems to stem from the funeral scene of Kawarama, where he hits Hashirama for speaking out of turn. But are we judging that moment through a modern lens? Back then, many fathers didn’t treat their children with the same sensitivity we expect today, Laws protecting minors didn’t exist. And Hashirama, in that moment, was being disrespectful toward the memory of his fallen brother something that mattered deeply in a culture of honor.
On the other hand, Tajima openly boasts about Madara’s Sharingan a power born from his son’s emotional trauma as if it were nothing more than a weapon to destroy the Senju clan;So why do some fans still see him as the “better” father? In my view, both were products of their time,Both raised their sons as soldiers;I don’t see any moral high ground in either of them, Frankly, I’m tired of people trying to make one look better than the other.
Hello anon!
I understand where you're coming from and agree with you. It's hard to argue against what you said because I believe you're basically right.
I don't think Tajima and Butsuma are much different; they both use their kids for a never-ending war. While Hashirama and Madara eventually ended it, you understand what I mean, right? Neither of them seems to consider a possible peace between their clans. They did with their children what their parents did with them: raising them for war.
Also, I don't know if I can answer your question. Maybe they want the Uchiha to appear a bit better?
