If you do not know history -- you are doomed to be gullible about it. Jews. From the word "Judaea". Jews have called Israel home for thousands of years. This is their land -- they came back to it in 1948, after being dispersed and hunted and driven out of it by the actual "colonizers" for centuries, with their own culture and language and name, as a unique people group. Something unprecedented and precious in the history of the world that no other people group has managed. They even bought their own land back -- swampy and supposedly "worthless" as it was then -- legitimately from the people who were camping out in it at the time.

The Jews are not the "colonizers" here.

a reminder that your advocacy for ending the occupation of Palestine should also extend to advocating for Indigenous and First Nations peoples' liberation in your own country. The anti-colonial struggle is a global one. Show up for Indigenous people everywhere you can because we are under occupation almost everywhere. Not to mention the Zionist occupation is supported almost exclusively by the colonial world powers. Your advocacy for the liberation for Palestine must go hand in hand with advocacy for First Nations liberation and Land Back.

eeexactly! we literally just had a whole convo in the server about the way that wake's pregnancy brings up a lot of the same themes as an abortion narrative (while also talking about how the coercive nature of imperialism removes the ability to give true consent), and so the way that people talk about wake ends up really showing their asses in terms of what they think of a woman's right to choose and how much they really value the lives of pregnant women vs. what's in their wombs.

hey, i’m usually not into mgv stuff because it squicks me very quickly but the way you write it is really cool and interesting! i read your post about house and wilson ending up having a pup because he partially blamed house for not being a parent yet (and also both of them have secretly wanted it for years), and that’s the exact type of risky and angsty that i could see them going with (especially with like, the initial feelings of rejection and wrongness because it would take them a while to get the romantic stuff going on). however, as a lighter but not any less insane counterpart, i want to know your thoughts on them ending up with a pup because of one of their stupid bets where they both secretly hope for that outcome. and then when the results of the bet are in they have separate crises about it <3

HONESTLY...... them ending up with a pup because of a bet or a prank is as feasible. like wilson makes a passing comment about his childlessness, house starts half-jokingly theorizing that with all the sleeping around wilson does, he should have had at least one runt by now so the fact he doesn't is probably because "your sperm gives up just like you do with every relationship."

house, for his part, does his best in the time between their conversation and doing the test to ignore the instinct-riddled corner of his brain that intercepts every other thought at random points of the day, an excited reminder of gonna have a pup! alpha's pup! will they look like him? hope so. he'll take good care of us.

Khaled Mhajne, a lawyer who was able to meet Palestinian prisoners in the now-infamous Sde Teiman Israeli detention camp, described what he called a “criminal” situation “beyond imagination”.

Mhajne told Al Araby Al Jadeed that over 1,000 Palestinians from Gaza are being held in Sde Teiman.

“The war being waged against Palestinian prisoners, especially against the prisoners from the Gaza Strip, is a war no less criminal than what the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are experiencing,” he added.

Why doesn't Astrofil stop Belos from destroying the Isles?

It's been mentioned a few times on this blog that Astrophel wrongfully imprisioned and isolated from any potential sources of moral guidance, and been left to stew in his anger for a very long time.

These two have a lot of overlapping trauma and they both blame the Isles as the source of that trauma. This does not justify their actions and they are not in the right for behaving this way, and figuring this out is a major part of Astrophel's character arc late in the au. If the circumstances were even slightly different, it would not be this way. As it is, Philip relies on Astrophel for moral guidance and Astrophel is acting on his emotions rather than any sense of morality.

So, since that's been covered, I'm assuming you're referring to the bit Dollie said about Astrophel later being forgiven (but calling them out) for his part in the DoU and what occurs after Belos returns to the Demon Realm and tries. Why doesn't Astrophel try to stop him?

Well, who says he doesn't? You aren't the one writing this AU, you don't know what Dollie and I have planned for the end. Wait and see what happens.

Valentino, Vox, and Vision

Something that Valentino used to be able to handle better in their past together was the light that Vox's head put off. When they met and started their partnership, Vox's light was much dimmer and much easier to actually see.

Becoming partners with a man whose face was a light, however, was what started him wearing his sunglasses everywhere all the time. It helped him to see better than he had in eight years in Hell, though his vision still wasn't the best, any improvement was better than nothing.

As Vox improved and upgraded his head, his face grew ever brighter and even harder for Valentino to see. Once upon a time, Valentino could have fallen victim, somewhat, to Vox's hypnotism, but once his face began to brighten and it was harder and harder to see, he wasn't able to maintain that.

Now, the blue light given off by Vox's teeth is blinding for Valentino, who cannot see those winning smiles very well even with his glasses on. He struggles not to get Moon Eyes over Vox's face when he gets in close, though he doesn't often fight it.

Despite this, Vox's smile is still one of Valentino's favorite things to try to see. He loves it whenever Vox smiles at him, especially those rarer, genuine ones. He will happily deal with being blind just to know Vox is pleased with something he's done.
