I watched some of the financial audit videos you recommended and it took me back to my days volunteering in עמותת פעמונים ליווי כלכלי. Probably because of the language barrier I didn't realize what I basically did for people is financial auditing but it was practically identical to what this channel does, down to the very personal dig into each person's life, it's insane how personal it gets

From the 2-3 years of exposure to the Israeli families applying to get advice I learned a few crucial and honestly very simple things:

- Never spend what you don't already have, this including mortgages! The second hand headache I received from just trying to help people figure out their debt was eye opening. Mortgage is basically like renting all your life but more stressful, especially with the rate of selling and buying houses Israeli culture promotes.

- There's always a way to lower your spending. Working with any form of prioritizing system or model helps a lot. Cigarettes or subscriptions? Food orders or traveling? Also stop giving away cigarettes to people if they ask, that shit is wildly expensive lol

- Set a time at least a month (definitely once a year to monitor the annual automatic stuff that can change without you noticing) that is allotted to dealing with non-automatic fees and looking at your total in the bank and credit card to know your spending habits

- Marriage in Israel is a financial ruiner, please find normal ways to get married without taking out loans and counting on guests to return the fees wtf

- One 👏 credit 👏 card 👏 is 👏 enough 👏

Im honestly perplexed by ppls spending habits here SPECIFICALLY the mortgages. I have a friend who took out a 40 year long mortgage with a monthly payment that is EIGHTY PERCENT of his salary, and the explanation was "well we split it between me and my wife and its cheaper than renting" (then rent somewhere else holy shit???). And when I asked what happens when either of u spontaneously lose ur job he went WELL FIGURE IT OUT ITLL BE BESEDER bitch no it wont wtf??? idk if its because I grew up pisspoor to Soviet parents who wouldnt spend a single agora more than the budget they set but this kind of mentality blows my mind.

Same for marriage too I see Poors like me get married in extravagant halls investing, I shit you not, over A HUNDRED THOUSAND SHEKELS into this ONE singular event expecting it to be paid off by guests+parents+themselves hjsadbfhjbsd oh my GOD Shontal just get married in someones backyard or at a small venue!!!

Or ppl who take loans to buy A CAR, of all things, and its usually something FANCY like I cannot stress how pathetic it is to hear these bitches stop their Mercedes next to u at a gas station and cap the gas pump to 50 shekels khjsadbfjhasdb or ppl taking out loans to TRAVEL ABROAD it legit blows my mind they exist. Just rob a bank at this point if u gonna be this retarded

yesterday i got to experience for the first time what's it's like to be an israeli around a group of young people (who all come from different backgrounds around the world). from people telling me how "they don't tell anyone, but they're secretly pro-israel", to people not even looking me in the eyes or just ignoring my existence around them, to people not really caring, to people asking "no, but where are you originally from", to people telling me they think bibi's a great leader, to people demanding to know what my stance is, to people outright yelling "from the river to the sea" and "fuck israel" in my face unprompted.

it was insane, it was humiliating. i felt reduced to nothing more than what i am, with such small regard for who i am. if this is remotely what's it like being diaspora jews/israelis abroad i truly can't imagine how it feels to suffer from these things daily. omg
