Wanted to take a moment to give a nod of appreciation to SSO for the evolution of specifically mane and tail physics.

As someone who's been here since before the first quarter horses were released it's been incredible to see the change from the mane being plastered onto the neck and the tail just being one whole club connected to the horse, to seeing the mane finally get disconnected for its own rig (I think it was the gen 2 haflingers and Friesians where they first tried this) to the mane getting broken up into strands and waving back as the horse moves (Lusitano) and now seeing the same treatment being given to the tails in the last few breeds.

The Saddlebred's release has me especially excited to see what they're capable of, and has me really hopeful that we'll see that same treatment given to the redux Friesians later this year.

Jasper Harris is the son of the famous Grammy award winning singer/songwriter/music record producer Andre Harris and the famous Popstar singer/songwriter and actress Tori Vega

Jasper and his family all live in Hollywood

Jasper takes after both his parents in looks but he mostly takes after his dad

He inherited both his parents' love for music, but instead of singing or playing an instrument, he has a love for dance

Jasper is a great dancer and started dance lessons at the age of 7

He loves his parents and loves his family.

He is naturally pretty chill in any situation.

He has two younger sisters named Melody and Lyric.

As a big brother, he is naturally very protective and mature (at least in his opinion)

Jasper and his sisters also attend Hollywood arts

Her family is very well known, mostly due to her parents and their careers.

Melody does not find it easy being the daughter of Andre and Tori Vega or just their child in general because of all the fame, the paparazzi and complete lack of privacy

Like her brother, she's not like her parents. She likes music, but she isn't as passionate about it as most of her family.

Melody loves art and experiments with all different kinds

Melody loves to paint, draw, sketch, sculpt, and experiments with graffiti, portraits, virtual art, and pottery.

She listens to music while doing any artistic activity, but she prefers silence when working on any paintings and art projects

Melody mostly loves doing painting, drawing, sketching, virtual designs, and pottery

Her room is very messy with paint everywhere, but she refers to it as her "creative space"

She helps design her mom and dad's album covers

Melody has an art book that her mom gave to her when she was 12. Melody still has it.

She never shows her drawings to anyone who isn't family.

She is very insecure about her art and doesn't think it's good enough or even close to finished despite many comments

Like both her parents, she has inherited the musical flame inside her along with both her parents' beautiful singing voice

Like her dad, she loves playing any musical instrument, but she mostly plays the piano or guitar and, like her mom, she loves to sing

Whenever her parents are finished with a song and they need a second opinion, they go straight to Lyric and Jasper.

Lyric loves experimenting with new sounds and turning them into music

Music is her greatest passion and only hopes to be as good as her parents

Her room is completely soundproof since she likes to play her music and instruments all the time and very loudly

Like her older sister, Lyric also has a journal, but it was given by her father.

In her journal, she writes ideas for song lyrics and ideas for songs like a melody, tempo, a beat, rhythm, etc

She gets inspiration in the most random places

She is a good dancer but not as great as Jasper

Loves seeing her sisters art projects

She often goes to her parents' studio. (It's one of her safe places)

Finds her aunt Trina funny yet annoying (her siblings feel the same)

September’s theme was robots! So I drew a happy nindroid family! The boy is named Nin and the girl is named Digital! (Yes I am aware that there is a next gen Pixane child named Digital, but I named these two in middle school and only found out about it afterwards also the ocs are different enough for me to keep the names, no I am not taking complaints about the names.) I got 3rd place!

I actually don't have nearly as many original thoughts and headcanons about the Potter kids as I do about their parents! Much as I love em. All I know is that I like Cursed Child about as much as I like Grawp. (There was a Cursed Child poster up right by my house for the first two months of this year, and every single day I had to walk past it and start my day in a quiet rage. Also no offence whatsoever to the current actress playing Ginny on the West End, but why did they dress Ginny like some kind of frump! She is in her mid-late thirties when Albus goes to school! How dare you! Also I was at a party the other day and my friend walked in fresh from seeing Cursed Child and went 'uhh so I just had to watch three hours of Harry Potter for some reason being horrible to his gay son I need a drink', and now that is all I can think of whenever I think about Cursed Child).

The only headcanons that really come to mind are:

James and Ginny think they're the funny ones of the family, everyone eye rolls at them but secretly agrees; Harry and Albus bond in Albus' late teens over sad Muggle music together (I had a stupid fic idea where I was like... Albus and Harry at a Phoebe Bridgers concert. Or at least The National. Sad dad and his introvert son? Sign me up); everyone in the family teases Harry relentlessly and he's like err sorry I did not marry one of you and bring the three of you into existence to be roasted every day of my life (obviously he secretly loves it).

What I do have is this tiny very abridged list of fics I have loved that have helped shape how I think about the Potter kids and strongly recommend:

try and hide the night by tosca1390 - (oneshot, James POV, James trying to understand his parents' war, just really lovely family dynamics here)

all the pieces fall by @lanaturnergetup - (multichapter, completed, Albus/Scorpius, adult!Potter kids, I would die for this Albus)

and tomorrow came again by @bettysgarden12 - (multichapter WIP, next gen Hogwarts fic - I'm actually super behind on the last couple of chapters but this is e n c h a n t i n g)

Okay okay okay I have so many thoughts on a particular episode of Star Trek Next Generation. It's season 2 episode 9 Measure Of A Man. I am continuously bewildered at how easily some people in that show can look at Data and not see a person. Like this 'machine' is so unbelievable human. Dr. Pulaski and Maddox makes me so mad. I'm sure Kate gets better as the show goes on but holy fuck you guys. The part in an earlier episode really stood out to me. When she mispronounced his name. He told you the name he likes to be called and you argue with him about it?

The characters who don't recognize Data's personhood come off so irrational. Everyone is telling them "He's our friend, he is a valued member of this crew" and they just can't see it all because he's made of something different from them. Because he's not organic? At a certain point it just comes off as melicious and intentional. This 'thing' is looking you in the eye, speaking to you and smiling. He is telling you about his likes and dislikes. He has hobbies. As much as he likes to say it he has feelings. Very real and strong feelings that he might not understand but they are there. How can they see anything other then a person?

This is going to come off as dramatic and I mean it mostly as a joke but anyone who sees Data as anything other then a person would be a transphobe, racist, or general bigot in today's world. Their minds not flexible enough to understand things are not black and white. It all feels like it boils down to "He's different so we don't have to treat him like a person." Treating Data like he is a person is the ultimate litmus test for crew members on the Enterprise.

Also I have always liked Captain Picard but he really shines in this episode. He's so grumpy dad coded. One of his kids was getting bullied and he had their back fully.

Josie x Cici

Nightspear is the official name for Nighthunter x Bellona/Josephine "Josie" Cain-Brown x Cecilia "Cici" Sandsmark. The name comes from a combination of Josie's codename and Cici's signature weapon being a spear.

The two meet while Josie is helping out her cousins Nightstar (Mar'i Grayson) and Bloodlust (Rubio Todd) with a mission. Cici was struggling against an old enemy of hers and Josie offered her help in defeating them.

Soon after, the two began to talk more and eventually developed feelings for each other. These feelings would come to ahead when they settled down for the night at a camp during the journey to retrieve Cici's stolen spear.

In the future they get married and Cici ends up taking Josie's last name. Their first child is a boy named Caspian Bruce Cain-Brown.

A few years ago, there was a thread on r/asksciencefiction where someone was fishing for a superhero story with an inverted Omni-Man dynamic, or a setting where Homelander's initial presentation is played straight- a setting where the Superman figure actually is the paragon of morality he's initially presented as, but no other superhero is- a situation where you've got one really competent true-blue hero standing head-and-shoulders in power above what's otherwise a complete nest of vipers.

Someone in the thread floated My Hero Academia; while I haven't read it, my understanding is that that's not really an accurate read of what's going on with Stain's neurosis about All-Might being the only "real hero," that the point of that arc is that Stain's got an insane and unreasonable standard and that taking an endorsement deal, while bad, isn't actually grounds for execution. My own contribution to the thread was Gail Simone's Welcome to Tranquility, where a major part of the backstory involved the faux Justice-League's Superman analogue having a little accident because he's the only one who thought they were morally obligated to go public with the secret life-extending macguffin that the rest of the team is using to enforce comic-book time on themselves and their loved ones; while only a couple members of the team are directly in on it, the rest are conveniently incurious. And Jupiter's Legacy gets tantalizingly close to this- The Utopian, a well-meaning stick-in-the-mud, ultimately gets blindsided and couped by his scheming brother who creates a superhero junta staffed by a Kingdom-Come-style glut of third-gen superheroes, who are framed as fundamentally self-interested because only came onto the scene after most of the situations you legitimately need a superhero to handle have been neutralized. (The rub, of course, is that the comic is also highly critical of the Utopian's intellectually incurious self-righteously 'apolitical' approach to superheroism- if for no other reason than that it left him in a position to get blindsided by a coup!) While Jupiter's Legacy gets the closest, all three of these are only loosely orbiting around the spirit of the original idea, and there's something really interesting there- particularly if the Superman figure isn't hopelessly naive in the same way as Utopian. Because first of all, if you're Metaman or Amazingman or whatever brand-name alias the writer goes with, and you really earnestly mean it, and you put together a team of all the other most powerful heroes on earth in order to pool your resources, and then with dawning horror you gradually begin to realize that everyone in the room besides yourself is a fascist or a con artist or abuser or any other variant of a kid with a magnifying glass eyeing that anthill called Earth- What the hell is your next move?

Do you just call the whole thing off? Can you trust that they'll actually go home if you call the whole thing off? I mean you've put the idea in their heads, are you sure that they aren't going to, like, start the Crime Syndicate in your absence? Do you stick around to try and enact containment, see if getting all of these people on a team makes them easier to keep on a leash? But that's functionally going to make you their enabler pretty quickly, right? Overlooking "should you kill them-" can you kill them? You're stronger than any individual one of them- are you stronger than all of them? The first time one of them really crosses a line in a way you can't ignore- will that be a one-on-one fight? Are they the kind of people capable of putting two-and-two together and pre-emptively ganging up on you if you push back too hard? Do you just start trying to get them killed, or keep them at each other's throats so they can't coordinate anything really nasty? Can you squeeze any positive moral utility out of them, or is that just a way to justify not doing the hard work of taking them down? There've been works where the conceit is to question the default assumption that Superman in specific would be a good person, and there've been works where the conceit is to question the default assumption that superheroes in general would be good people. Something to be done, I think, with questioning the default assumption that everyone Superman becomes professionally close to would be good, and to explore how he'd handle it if they weren't.

Comfort item🧸

It has been a hell of a day. Early rise and a late finish, with maybe 5 minutes worth of a lunch break in between few cigarettes stops. Getting on the jet felt like finally being able to breathe. The unsub was caught, the case cracked, justice served. That’s what you signed up for. As you open your backpack in your seat, you rummage around in the depths of your bag, a deep sense of guilt and disappointment hitting the pit of your stomach.

You pale, realising you’d left your one comfort item at home.

The whole team had one, Reid had his blanket, Morgan his headphones and JJ a book to read. Yours was rather particular and could not be replaced, your stuffed animal, but he was more than that. He is an Eeyore plushie that you’ve been inseparable with since the day you received him as a birthday gift. Over the years he’d been ripped and sewn up, every time you pretended to give him anaesthetic for his surgery. He’d been with you, through all the nights you couldn’t sleep, the nights you’d cried yourself to sleep. He’d even shared the bed with your ex boyfriends, much to their dismay.

You knew this journey home without Eeyore would be a sleepless one.

"Hi."

Hotch slips himself into the seat next to you. He notices her sitting curled up on the seat and he can't help but notice how miserable you look, curling herself into a ball to almost hide from something.

"Are you doing okay?"

He asks, keeping his voice low to not disturb the others. You whisper in response, just muttering something about being tired.

"You look it. This was a tiring case. You should get some sleep."

He looks across to the others playing cards. Reid was almost definitely cheating again he assumed, as Morgan stared across the table with eyes like daggers, Emily’s head rested on his shoulder as she laughed at the confrontation in front of her.

"They'll probably keep going for a couple more hours if you can ignore them."

You pout, Hotch would be a safe person to share this problem with. He has a child so he’s definitely seen similar conundrums, maybe Jack wasn’t as much as of a baby as you are at the grown age of 22.

“I- I can’t sleep. Not without my Eeyore.”

You mutter under your breath, praying Aaron hears it. Admitting the fact again would be too embarrassing to endure.

He chuckles lightly at her choice of sleep companion.

"And your Eeyore toy is at home?"

He looks down at you, lifting your chin up with his thumb so you look him in the eye. You nod shyly in response, slipping into a nonverbal headspace.

Aaron looks sympathetic as she nods with a frowny face, but he still can’t resist teasing you.

"Aww, you miss your stuffed animal."

He smirks, making a little teasing remark. He matches his facial expression with yours, both modelling pouty frowns. Staring into each other’s eyes, you’re not sure how you started this game of getting the other to break the act and laugh. But you were certainly losing. Your lips curl up into a smirk and you let out a soft breathy giggle, your smile growing when he smirks back.

"Lie down then, come on."

Hotchner pats his lap, offering for her to rest her head on it. He adjusts his position so he's sat more comfortably and begins to gently run his calloused fingers through her hair, gently stroking it.

“This should help you fall asleep, hm?"

You feel the breath you’ve been accidentally holding release, your shoulders fall and for the first time all day you feel calm. You practically purr under his touch, smiling up and nodding at him.

Hotch glances down fondly as his hand continues to gently run through her hair.

"Good."

He lowers his voice to a hushed whisper as to not disturb the other members of the team who are a few seats down.

"You are adorable, you know that?"

You feel your cheeks burn under your new found blush, rolling your head inwards to hide your face in his stomach. You squeal internally, realising you’re basically putty in his hands.

"Hey, what's wrong, hm?"

He questions, still keeping his voice gentle as he glances back down at her, his arms wrapped around her in a tight yet still comfortable hug.

“Nothing.. I- I miss Eeyore, but this is nice too.”

You manage to blurt out, half in nervousness and the other in honesty.

“When you get home, you can tell Eeyore all about how brave you were on your adventure without him. And you’re right, this is nice. Sweet girl, just needed to cuddle up and get a few head scratches. It’s cute you know? It’s precious. Having a comfort item, it doesn’t make you weak.”

Hotch speaks earnestly, running his fingers through your outgrown fridge and tucking the hair behind your ear.

"And I, I'll happily keep doing this as long as it keeps you sleepy. It's kind of cute how much of a baby you are and how easy it is to send you to sleep with a gentle head rub.“

Aaron’s voice sounded like silk, so soft and calming. It makes your eyelids feel heavier until they close. It can’t be that bad to take a nap on your bosses lap, can it?
