As those special few who read and are caught up on Electric Excavations know, I had to halt posting as I wasn't quite done with the storyline I was working on yet and didn't want to paint myself into a corner by posting a chapter prematurely.

I appreciate your patience while I worked on it and I'm happy to say I'm just about done! I've written it but now I need to go back through and give it a full reread and try to make sure there aren't any plot holes or loose threads I missed.

Give me another few days and hopefully I can start posting again.

To give an idea... I think this is close to the word count for the Descent arc. So once I do start posting again you'll have at least a couple weeks of new chapters 😊

It is unfortunate that I have once again been sent back in time to a location which will no doubt require the Enterprise crew to concoct a unique and perhaps even dangerous method of extraction. I apologize for being drawn into danger again. I know it is a point of contention between us that my duties sometimes require me to place myself in harm's way.

Rest assured that I have sufficiently chastised myself for this error. The thought of being apart from you by centuries is a harrowing one.

In fact, I write this letter knowing you may never read it. While pen and paper has the potential for preservation over hundreds of years, it will still require unique circumstances for this letter to find you should I not be able to deliver it myself.

However, I have every intention of seeing you again. In which case, I will hand you this letter and each subsequent piece I write. After partaking in a loving embrace and tender kiss, of course. Both of which I already find myself missing.

Should the crew fail to recover me from Earth's past this time, it is my hope that you will not feel much distress. I have every intention of living out my life until such a day as when I may see you again.

I will have to wait until after this incident occurs, of course, so as not to violate the temporal prime directive. I apologize in advance for any displeasure my initial disappearance causes. It has never been my intent to cause you pain. I only wish for your happiness and well being.

I will make every effort to return to you, my dear. In the meantime, I will comfort myself with thoughts of your kind eyes and warm smile.
