It happened again. I wrote something about two people who don't have a dynamic in canon and began to ship it. Cursed forever with rarepairs.

Playing Dead AU Guyyyyyyssss

I just had a random shenanigans idea...

Now hear me out.

You know those murder mystery parties right? The ones where people get together, an actor plays dead, and the groups have to figure out who did it.

Well what if.

Danny takes a summer job as the body/actor of the victim for those parties and actually is commented on being the best 'very lifelike dead body' actor and hey at least his 'medical condition' (halfa) is finally being useful for something (besides you know, fighting ghosts) he can even go hours without moving (or breathing) once he's dead so he doesn't ruin the immersion for party goers.

Anyways, what if he gets a job for a rich people's party, you know something novelty for the wealthy to have fun with, maybe it's the Wayne's hosting a party or maybe someone else and they invite the Wayne's. And the company he works for sends him to Gotham. He gets there, helps set up the clues and the other actors, etc etc.

Then the guests start showing up, Danny acts like the star of the show he is and then the lights cut out, he screams (very realistically), and 'dies' before the lights come back on. As some players come up to inspect his body however he doesn't notice how some take his pulse and actually fully think he's dead.

Point being, Danny is the 'dead' body for the murder mystery, goes to Gotham for a gig, 'dies' and the batfam think they have a legit murder happening.

There was a teen in the cave.

A teen no one knows and looks like he could be a wayne, stands in the cave.

"Actually, I'm a wayne." He says with a shrug.

Bruce, Batman, carefully thinks of the implication.

"Not yet," The teen, Danny, doesn't say anything. Simple smiles. "You're not a wayne, yet. You will be. But not yet."

Then Bruce sighs, dropping the batman mask in order to take in the teen.

"Does future me know of the time travel?"

Dannys smile grows into a grin, deciding to take pity on the man. "You, grandbat, have..." He makes a vague gesture. "Theories, which none of your children ever confirmed."

The bat's mind short-circuits at the choice of words

Dick is sputtering incomprehensibly, there are Baffled expression all around.

Because.

Because that child isn't Bruce's, but one of theirs.

"Who is it?" Jason demands, hand clenching his gun uselessly.

Danny continues to smile, a hint of mischief now peeking out.

The cave is filled with theories, some yell, some sob, yet all eyes leave danny.

All but one pair.

She had known the moment his body language switched just enough for her to read.

She had known the moment he disappeared before the clan.

Had known when his hand found hers, shoulders bumping.

Her heart clenches, throat dry and memories of her childhood flooding to mind.

So she asks, voice soft and hesitant.

"Am I a good mother?"

And danny looks up at cass, adoration and pride laid out plain for her to see and accept.

"You're the best."

And so they both watch the clan together, silent and comfortable.

(Cass doesn't question when she finds him, how and why. All she knows is that she's more attentive when out on patrol, looking and waiting.)

(This is how Cassandra Cain-Wayne returns one night from patrol, a child, barely out of toddler stage and clinging to her form.)

(This is how the Batclan officially meets one Daniel James Cain-Wayne, freshly washed and clothed, a cookie in hand and hiding shyly behind Cass.)

(When they meet, all they say is "Welcome home, danny," and "Good to see you again.", Danny doesn't necessarily get it, but that's okay. Maybe his new mom will explain it one day when he's bigger.)

Also have another “first words spoken to you are on your skin” soulmate AU idea where Kara is a journalist assigned to shadow the controversial CEO of L-Corp for the day. It’s a big deal for her to get this assignment, so of course she trips the second she’s near the other woman and tries awkwardly to redeem herself.

The CEO stares at her almost in shock, and then says nothing. At all. Ever, for the entire day.

Kara spends hours following Lena Luthor around trying to fill the silence, but no amount of questions get her to talk. Lena almost seems to be running away at some points - like she’s trying to lose her? - and the few times she’s managed to catch her actually talking to someone she goes silent the second she sees Kara.

She asks around if Miss Luthor is usually like this and everyone looks at her like she’s crazy. Apparently she’s the only one who gets the silent treatment. By the end of her first day shadowing she’s walking away with half a page of observations and not a single quote. Miss Grant is going to kill her.

But that’s okay. It’s fine, this isn’t over. She has four days of shadowing ahead of her and she’ll be damned if she doesn’t finish this with a quote from the woman herself. It’s only a matter of time.

aftg au where aaron and tilda spend a summer in la for some reason when he’s like 11 (not being able to afford rent so they’re staying with someone she knows? a relationship went bad and she needs to distance herself from san jose, so she hits up an old friend most of the state away?) and aaron befriends a kid around his age at the skatepark & they hang out pretty regularly (sometimes with the kid’s brother) either skating or playing their game boys (aaron can tell the kid’s family is better off than him and tilda, but he’s not complaining about getting to play newer games he hasn’t been able to afford), and after the summer they stay in touch sometimes over email (aaron didn’t have one before because why would he need that, but the kid’s older siblings had gotten him set up with one, and he helps aaron make one), only over the years they slowly start talking less and less, and as things escalate with andrew, they stop talking at all, and then it’s a fee years later and tilda is dead and aaron is locked in a bathroom with canned food thinking about the past and when he gets out he emails the old friend he’d thought about, only to get an email back from the brother he’d met a few times saying that he’s dead, too, and he doesn’t stay in touch with the brother (obviously, they weren’t really friends), except a few years later he gets an email with a link to a report about his arrest and a question mark, and they talk only a very little bit, and then before semifinals he gets another email just telling him that the foxes better beat USC because joshua hates the trojans

One of my favorite, more ridiculous headcanons I have yet to draw, is that because things are more serious/high stakes in UF, the brothers don't do their cartoonish antics thing so much. So whenever things start getting better once they've surfaced, and they start acting more like their true selves, it comes as a startling shock to the others when they sporadically, unacknowledgingly break the laws of time, space, physics, what have you, all for a bit

Thinking about Nicky being openly and loudly gay while Kevin's all, 'it's easier to be straight if you want to play exy' and wondering if anyone has actually given him shit for being an openly gay athlete in class I collegiate exy. AFTG does seem to be set in a universe where homophobia exists and seems fairly common but maybe Kevin's just wrong. Or maybe (and I think this is a funnier interpretation), Nicky gets no blow-back for being out and gay because actually no one has noticed he's gay (despite his best efforts) -- in fact, they haven't really noticed Nicky even exists. Kevin and Neil have so thoroughly dominated the public image of the PSU Foxes and what with the news about Aaron killing a guy with a racquet and Andrew breaking Riko's arm on live TV, Nicky is nothing but a number on a roster in the public's eye. He could probably stroll into the middle of a court after a game, kiss a dude and proclaim to the world he's here and he's queer and everyone would just be like, "who the fuck is that? ANYWAY did you hear about that crazy rumour about Jean Moreau?"
