Since it's looking. Like they might be here to stay for a while I will go ahead and warn I will likely be making posts abt those old warhammer guys more frequently in the nearish future, but I will be tagging everything "wh 40" for anyone who would like to blacklist the tag! Though I will also add that I may sometimes post something related to both that and undertale, as I'm already trying to scheme up Necron designs for the various skeletons aha. But definitely not monster designs for any of the Necrons. Do not.be ridiculous. 🧍

Rus! With strangers, he’s...exuberant. Although depending on the circumstances, he may also come off a bit scatterbrained, perhaps, as he’s usually thinking and doing any number of things at once! Unless his focus is on wherever he is encountering strangers, they likely wouldn't get much of a good read on him besides "loud" and "silly". And even those he'd spend more time around wouldn't get much more than that beyond perhaps fickle and boastful as well.

With friends, though his behavior itself wouldn't change so much, they'd likely come to understand him better regardless, as well as come to better see the anxiety creeping beneath the surface, as well as his tendency towards strange and even disconcerting behavior (like not sleeping..?). He is fun and outgoing but there is a sort of distance he puts between himself and everyone else.

Even, though to a lesser degree, those closest to him. For the most part his act is solid. He rarely lets the mask fall, possibly even less so around those he cares for most. But, there would be a rare exception, now and again. Less inclined to run off to the next task, more inclined to linger. Less need to fill the silence and more able to welcome it.

He communicates more through action than words, anyone would be hard pressed to ever hear him ever open up in earnest verbally, but rather he shows it, through allowing witness to the parts of himself he keeps so carefully hidden from others. Nearly everyone.

And, I'll allow myself to offer narrators omniscience to add, it's not about fear nor insecurity that stops him from opening up to others, at least not entirely: he genuinely wouldn't know how to. Much of the way his own mind works is a mystery to him, let alone something he could put into words. Having those around that he doesn't even need to bother trying is so incredibly meaningful to him, those who are simply with to accept, observe, and embrace. Even if they don't fully understand, those are the connections that mean the most to him.

Hiii <3 I know almost nothing about wh 40k but I find myself getting rapidly invested in the necrons so I figure I'd ask if anyone has any recommendations for...idk, learning more about them/related lore?

I ordered the infinite and the divine and preordered the twice dead king omnibus but otherwise I'm not even sure how to approach such a large scale fictional world. It seems like there's quite a lot to it! But I'm open to reading or video essays or what have you, even blog or fic recs are welcome and any guidance is appreciated 🌟

Who, Edge? Oh that's easy, he’s a pathetic sopping wet purse dog of a skeleton around everyone /JJJ (or maybe /hj...)

Edge! Around strangers, he gives off the impression of someone who One. Does not like You specifically, and Two. Has about a dozen other things he would rather be doing right now. Generally fairly quiet with a solid resting bitch face, and when he does talk it's usually to voice his disapproval of or annoyance with something. He doesn't exactly come across as a total jerk though, more so just someone very grumpy and a bit impatient, depending.

And he’s not very different amongst friends, they just know not to take it personally lmao. Although, if they're not in a social setting, at least he does relax a bit, and is more talkative as well (and less likely to complain). He is also more likely to be a bit more playful, like bragging about something or teasing (which it definitely is, even if he says it drier than a desert).

But those who are close with him get a much clearer image of what others may catch occasional glimpses of. For all his blustering, he's a massive softy who routinely goes out of his way to try and help others, be it friends, coworkers, even strangers haha. It becomes quite obvious his high strung nature is more anxiety than anything else, and when comfortable enough around others to relax a bit, he's typically more quiet and expressive.

Enjoys listening, and is much more curious about the world than he tries to let others know, so while he still isn't much of a talker himself, being able to seek someone out for casual company is the biggest way he lets himself ask for comfort from those who know him, and is a huge sign of trust <3

Lace! He's an incredibly social and outgoing person, for the most part, it's likely he comes across as friendly, if perhaps a bit intimidating. Always has the right words, always smiling, always flirting, but then he’s gone again, just as quickly as he appeared. A bit mysterious, that one...

Though with those he’s on good terms with, they would see a greater variety of expression. But even still, he’s the type who often seems to slip away when no one's looking, and often leaves even friends wondering if they know him as well as they think they do.

For all his boisterousness and generosity, few realize just how little he ever actually *speaks, beyond just lighthearted and passing conversation.

Then those closest to him get a fair impression as to why that is. Prone to mood swings and lashing out when under pressure, Lace often self isolates out of both fear of rejection and hurting those he cares for. There are staggeringly few close enough to know these things, to see the wounds he tries very hard to hide, but in truth it's always inevitable. He can't control himself to the degree most other Fell Papyri can.

But they don't just get his difficulties, they also get to see his more gentle and sincere side. The one that laughs at bad jokes and keeps notebooks filled with details he finds important to remember about those he loves.

He may be a bit complicated and messy at times, but most who know him that well care about him just as much.

Elester! With strangers? Haha. Well, I guess it would predominantly depend on circumstance, to be honest! He typically doesn't have much use for mortals at all, and would be just as inclined to...completely ignore them. However, in the event he’s bored or has to interact with them, for one reason or another, he’s usually...concise. Unexpressive. Might be a bit sarcastic or playful of it suits whatever his end goal is. Otherwise he’s quite quiet and cold.

But it's not entirely impossible to win him over, at least a little. He sometimes becomes fond of particular mortals he finds curious or intriguing, and those select few would see his more bratty and "kind" nature. More inclined to passing conversation, may even visit if he’s feeling particularly bored. Most would likely consider him fairly friendly, if a bit condescending at times haha

Mostly only those "close" to him would be other beings similar to him, like his brother or "Levi" or "Rus and Sans" (I have not given any of them proper nicknames yet forgive me). It's difficult to form a bond with something that only really lives like, a few days or weeks of your own lifetime, essentially.

But that being said, he can be much more gruff and easily annoyed by those close to him, though he is also much more dedicated and considerate of them. Playing at being unemotional as he does, when push comes to shove, he cares quite a lot. (There may have even been a few summoners he liked enough to come to know him this well...)

Pomander! Similarly to Elester, I think he can vary a bit. If he’s in a social setting he's put himself into, he likely comes across as open and friendly, low energy perhaps, but quite flirtatious as well! Then outside of that, like just in the day to day, he’s very quiet and reserved, likely doesn't interact much with others, though he’s still generally polite when he does.

Around friends, he'll act more like his social side, though with more sincerity, making jokes, teasing perhaps, and may even be inclined to share about himself a little, though he'd predominantly prefer talking about shared interests or mundane things than personal stuff, in either direction.

Though, oddly enough, despite being social on his own, he doesn't typically participate in social events with friends, like if her were invited to go see a movie with them. He has a relatively low social battery, so it can be a bit much being around friends and actively doing things.

But then with those close to him, it almost reverses. They tend to see him at his most reserved. Quiet and relaxed, he often pressures himself to be more outgoing than he'd prefer, so not having that pressure and being able to just fully unwind, or even show other, less positive emotions, is a massive show of trust from him.

He also, conversely to how he is with more causal friends, actually really appreciates when his closest loved ones open up to him. So long as he isn't in a bad downswing or something, he's actually a very good listener and having that balance and trust they'd have built by that point allows him to feel useful without being used, which he is very grateful for.

This already took so long so I'm leaving their brothers out of it, but I may come back and make a post for them, too!! Especially since I have barely talked about them here hahaha, and you too!! 🌟💝
