I love brown eyes, my grandfather had brown eyes and had the softest look in his eyes. I wish I had brown eyes too

#how come all the relatives I hate are still alive abd the only comfy one has died #because he was tired of the nonsense #slow death of an alcoholic #he once stopped drinking for 3 years when he had a heart attack but lived #and then spiraled back into drinking #and I don't blame him I would too #at least I'm happy that he's resting now and doesn't have to worry every day about the war and shit #that's no way to live #I know I knew nothing about him but he was literally the comfiest guy amongst my flesh n blood relatives #he's resting but I'm not and I should have called him a day before he died #I wanted to call BUT FUCKING FORGOT #I can't stand the feeling of loss #and my soul died with the ones I loved #keeping my head empty all the time and letting go of the need to somehow stabilise my mood swings #the darkest void inside won't go away and I know I can't hide it I can't run I can't escape it #just pitch black #smells.like.a.freakshow

#art from a while back #i played hk first and deepnest was like. the most uncomfortable ive ever been playing the game #mainly because its just so DARK #as for rw... when i got to shaded...... what the actual Hell #i eventually got used to just dying in the dark and exploring the first parts of the region but like. Why is it pitch black #i didnt even realize there was a path to the scav merchant at the first room..... i got to memory crypts before finding it in my next run #hollow knight #rain world #hk ghost #rw slugcat #rw survivor #artatat #?!?@?@?@?@ the alt text got removed for a sec Sorry about that im not sure why or how that happened #also im completely aware deepnest without a lantern is much darker but atleast it isnt pitch black. girl help I started writing down oc thoughts and have started contemplating the logistics of how a city carved into the walls of a ravine would have access to fresh water

#rye.txt #MaVst #'you should do some worldbuilding' I said to myself #'it'll be easy' i said #'just write down the little thoughts you've had floating around'#I AM A FOOL #there are so many bullet points in this fuckign document #and they're all devoted to the minutiae of how the city I have in my mind would function #how the very terrain would influence the culture #couldn't just do a normal city on flat terrain noooo I had to include homes carved into rock #anyway im pretending im upset but this is so much fun #I loveee getting to think about how tiny details all affect each other and influence the greater whole #it's like problem solving but I get to make the solutions as fun and fantastical as I want #if my ocs are my silly little dolls to play pretend with #then the worldbuilding is like getting to build the doll house #which is just as fun imo #anyway im gonna give the capital city an abandoned under-city that's no longer habitable now that the original royal family is #no longer in power #it used to be lit with the light magic of the ruler that was amplified by the crown #but now it's almost impossible to navigate and so big that your torch is liable to burn out before you can explore much at all #and without a light source it's completely pitch black darkness #<- see stuff like this is so fun to think about and I can just slap it onto my world because it's cool

"Hornet is Void" theory, not in any sort of intentional, engineering-your-other-babies or whatever way, but in a "PK had awful policy with Void cross-contamination and it meant that Hornet came out with a handful of VERY conspicuously void-y characteristics that everyone tries to ignore because no one actually knows for sure where they came from and acknowledging them in any formal way could lead t a political shitshow" way.

It's kind of impressive how good Astarion is at primping when he can't see his own reflection. Like, he's vain, sure -- he has to be, to lure people back to Cazador. A pretty face is much more likely to draw people in, especially with his particular skill set. But...

All those years hunting for Cazador. Dolling himself up just to trap some poor fool in a tavern or a seedy back alley. His appearance always perfectly put together and beautiful.

Did the other spawn help get ready? There certainly seemed to be no love lost between them, especially for Astarion, but... Did they act as each others' mirrors, helping to style hair and apply make up? Did they help each other, in as much as they could, at least where it came to drawing in victims? Each consigned to the same fate, did they offer each other that smallest kindness of a brush run through hair?

Or did Astarion learn alone in the dark, to slick back his hair and hide his bruises? Is that why he's so put together at the start of the game, when you ought to be at your worst, injured and lost in the wreckage of your life? Practice?
