my god rlly damn my impulsive mind, a few days ago I randomly started ripping the wallpapers off in my room and decided to repaint the walls. only to fucking find myself being eaten by anxiety daily cuz college starts soon and well god damn I ain't got much time to draw smth I really enjoy. and I can truly concentrate on drawing only in my room and it's not yet available for living. and fr art schools needn't treat artists like living printing factories because hell we do burn out quite easily when we're overwhelmed w work. I just wish ppl understood that plain concept

ALSO NO ONE WANTS TO TALK AB EERON'S ROUND SCAR?? I mean he has lots of scars which is ironically not typical for an mk character. and all of them are pretty average: healed cuts that were evidently stitched. but the round scar that looks like a circle on his right shoulder? it's mostly covered by his armour so it's almost impossible to get a closer look at it but my best guess is that's a branding scar. not likely traditional scarification, I doubt erron'd bother with the healing while he's the typo dude who dgaf about looking maximum scarred I mean c'mon he already got a plenty of scars so he really wouldn't bother as to get an intentional scarification (when he could just get a tat that would heal better). talking about scarifications I really love the idea of kotal having tribal scarifications since from what I read native americans had this practice too. back to erron like I said it's really uncommon for an mk character, even human, to have scars. so I had a theory that well he goes a bit too violent during sex sometimes. lmao yes that's my theory which works out pretty well with my vision of him. still I'm curious about what that round scar was all about originally cuz he has it even on concept arts

jk I ain't done yet. in my mind when I was thinking about kotal and erron as a ship it was always kinda toxic situationship because no matter what canon (mk11) states I still see kotal as emotionally numb person. I mean in my eyes at least he was always really detached from his emotions (except for when he was caught off guard like w his father) and this loving bf stuff just didn't seem right to me idk. not to mention I'm really confused by jade x kotal I mean where did you even come from as a couple lol. anyways I was saying. I see kotal much like a stone emotion-wise. erron on the other hand is an avoidant bitch who would fuck, yes, but the second he senses just a little bit of emotional closure between him and his partner he would quickly make up a reason to disappear and never come back again. and as I think about this ship of mine they seem a bit too idk. drained?? their dynamic I mean. but I think there's some potential in it indeed still I'm but a one man with not much of a fancy when it comes to going too far from canon. but I really love my version of their dynamic and I fucking wish I could come up with the idea and make a lil comic ab them idk. because even as the characters themselves they had such a potential but nrs never chose to give them more meaningful screen time (not just jobbing and being a jerk (it's targeted more on kotal cuz eeron's personality pretty much consists of being a charismatic jerk)). in mkx comic kotal was so cool istg man so hot and in mkx game they made him a dumb bitch and I'm fully convinced that by the time of mk11 plot kotal started to lose his mind because like damn I mean he was never totally liberal but at least originally he tried to avoid a conflict and make peace the best he could. and in mk11 it seems like he's on a fucking rampage and doesn't even gaf anymore

I would also like my obsession w kk and erron back but it deadass feels as if I never felt anything towards them (tho they both were my top faves when I first discovered mk). amd I rlly hate the way it is now but tbh Ion think my obsession is coming back. on the other hand the asian men of mk still have my full attention (esp subzero and scorpion since they've got the best written dynamic in the whole mk lore). still tho, I loved drawing erron, and esp kotal, kotal is so much fun to draw and yet I find myself totally indifferent towards him. if there was more content on him and erron tho Ig I wouldn't grow tired of them this fast. but there just ain't. nrs just chose an easier fanservicy path and decided not to make way for new characters. why would they do that when they can simply overwrite everything including og fandom faves' stories and personalities, eh? (tho I rlly loved some new details in mk1 I still feel kinda bitter because of how everything was just. boldly changed and erased) holy crap I mean. damn. they coulda left scorpion, mileena and the rest alone and actually give new characters (the kids, kk and his crew, maybe some new characters, probably more fujin and optionlly less raiden) a spark of life but holy fuck no, a half of those characters were just gone after mkx pr mk11. gone to?? idk whereand they didn't even try to justify their absence

drew some subzero x scorpion again but it didn't quite turn out how I wanted so I'll probably post later when I draw more stuff. and I really love reading tumblr reblogs of my art stuff because omg NO WAY ppl think my art looks nice. good to hear, real good to hear

subzero and scorpion are my current faves I just had to sketch them AND IT ACTUALLY TURNED OUT PRETTY COOL (as much as I hate digital and didn't even think I'd even be able to draw smth trivial. today lady luck's totally on my side)

as to scorpion's curly hair — I just like to treat his hair like fire, so the curls are inevitable. same w subzero, I tried to make it look spiky much like ice. same w skintones, I really loved the idea of contrasting skintones they got in mkx. so I made my subzero more pale reddish and scorpion more yellowish. altho I made the contrast not as evident as in mkx since I don't wanna make subzero completely pink but ehh instead I gave him more of a natural cooler skin tone. that's it with my headcanons ig. was listening to dfd while drawing too but as for lyrics and all dfd are mostly pretty toxic (and I don't quite imagine subzero and scorpion to be toxic) so ig my valentine passes the vibe here

and I'll also post the stylisations I did a few days earlier and I ended up hating them but idc anymore, I think they are pretty ok as fpr quick sketches

I was trying to get the idea of how to draw the asian men of mk without sfs. and I actually like turning liu kang into a dragon man because I think it suits him. I drew him more human (tho still kinda dragon-ish) before and ended up being bored so I decided to try and experiment a bit. and I kinda love the result but still feel the need to fuck around w his design a bit more tho

I've also been working on this just-for-fun painting. it's a redraw of gore motel album cover which just *happens* to contain bruce lee pic on it. I loved the altered colours cover I found on the internet so I decided to repaint it (cuz I rlly suck at painting and the only way to un-suck is to practice more colourful shit as much as I hate it)

might never finish the whole thing bit I guess it looks pretty cool as it is (there's also a gal beside him on the cover and I'm struggling w drawing her lmao)

shaolin monks is an iconic fucking game change my mind. they have to start selling it again as it was, no remakes needed because oh my god the aura is strong within this one. I'd play by myself but they ain't selling it nowhere and Idk where to download so playthrough it was. but I mean it's a fucking masterpiece I mean dumb liu kang and kung lao duo is everything I ever needed in my life I love this duo sm, probably on the same level as scorpion n subzero. I mean guys literally chased their own tail all game long and liu kang hitting lao in the face thinking he was faked by shang sung while raiden aka shang sung existed near them all the fucking time. and lao even stated his skepticism towards raiden "using powers in the outworld". the himbo award goes to liu "she's not my gf" kang
