being a system can be really fucking hard and it comes with a lot of challenges and struggles but man?? I fucking love my headmates. I don't know what I'd do without them and my life is better because they are in it.
#like. OSDD and DID are survival mechanisms yeah?#now that I'm living and not surviving its less of a survival mechanism and more of an. annoying friends and flatmates mechanism#obviously there are arguments and tensions. we're two dozen people sharing a vessel there is no way there wouldn't be#but MAN I would miss othello nights with sunny so much#and I would miss phoebe's stupid fantastic jokes#moon's level headedness and care#jasper's common sense....#francis's giggles and our shared interests and likes#the fact that they know exactly what I'm thinking so miscommunication is super rare#the fact that I know they won't judge me for anything because they all know everything about me anyway#fucking sucks that I had to be bullied for 5 years straight in order to obtain some of my best friends but like . ?#its better than being bullied for 5 years straight and Not having a coping mechanism this strong to help me through it#being a system isn't a consequence for trauma to me. its a consolation and a helping hand (or twenty-something helping hands JKFDSHDJSAKHSD#system#osdd#DID#plural#plurality#system positivity#NON-SYSTEMS PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT EVERY SYSTEMS EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!#many systems are still not in a good place and being a system can be very hard for them#I'm very lucky to be where I am now#just. keep your system friends in mind. look out for them. lift them up. thank you

My experiment with tumbling driveway gravel (which in kansas is primarily limestone) turned out interesting
I have no idea whats going on with the big piece. Its got all these weird bumpy bits that im sure are a harder type of rock but I have no idea what it is
Im not positive which side the only before picture of that rock i have is of....I think the first after picture is the same side...... it lost more mass than I thought it did tbh. But the fact that polished as well as it did is kinda surprising tbh. Probably won't ever tumble limestone again but its been fun to experiment with it cuz ive always wondered what would happen
Some of the little ones took on a polish and others didn't. Clearly they are different rocks but im not sure which is what.
#lucky ass Minnesota with their trans rights and agate filled gravel#tho finding out that a lot of gravel in Minnesota is filled with agates and jaspers has made me INCREDIBLY curious about#the composition of gravel in different places around the world#i mean im sure thats not difficult to figure out#its usually whatever is most common in the area#in kansas thats limestone#Minnesota has a lot of agates and jasper (lake superior agates are the state rock)#but it never occurred to me that different places would have different gravel compositions depending on what#rocks were most readily available#which i mean. it makes sense. you wouldnt be importing rocks for road or driveway gravel#youd just use whats around you#this world is full of interesting rocks to find

Masterlist for Aemond • House of the Dragon General Masterlist.
Aemond Targaryen, now ruling as Prince Regent and Protector of the Realm due to his brothers grievous battle injuries, commands respect across the kingdom. Yet, he remains unmarried, a notable void in his life.
As fate would have it, he needs a bride, and I am conveniently available.
I sat drumming my fingers against my teacup, the warm liquid causing the china to burn my fingertips. Lost in thought, I pondered the many ways I could persuade Aemond to marry me.
As the daughter of Jasper Wylde, spending time in the castle was not unusual for me; I practically grew up around Aegon, Aemond, and Helaena. My familiarity with the royal siblings was a double-edged sword.
Unlike Aegon and Helaena, Aemond never particularly liked me. His demeanour was often egotistical and unbearable, a trait that only intensified after he claimed Vhagar. Our interactions became increasingly strained as we grew older, creating a chasm between us.
Despite this, I couldn't ignore the opportunity before me. Marrying Aemond would secure my position and grant me unique influence within the realm. The prospect was too significant to overlook, and I needed to find a way to bridge the gap that had grown between us.
Aemond's cold demeanour and prideful nature presented a challenge, but I was determined. I would need to appeal to his sense of duty and ambition, perhaps even find common ground in our shared history.
I placed my teacup down, stood up, and smoothed my dress. My eyes flicked to where Aemond sat, a scroll in hand, surrounded by councilmen who seemed to be walking on eggshells around him. His intense focus and commanding presence filled the room a reminder of the power he wielded.
Loosening the bracelet on my wrist, I walked toward him with confidence. Just as I reached him, I bumped his chair, stumbling slightly to let the delicate jewellery fall.
The councilmen glanced at me, their expressions a mix of curiosity and annoyance, but I paid them no mind.
I bent down, maintaining eye contact with Aemond. My cleavage was in clear view as I picked up the bracelet.
"Apologies, your grace," I whispered, clasping the metal in my hand.
He looked into my eyes, then at my chest, his gaze lingering too long before he nodded, a grunt of dismissal escaping his lips. I straightened up and walked away without looking back.
This encounter, though brief, was a step forward. I had caught his attention, and now I needed to maintain it. Each moment with Aemond would be an opportunity to shift his perception of me, to transform from a mere childhood acquaintance into a potential partner worthy of standing by his side.
As I navigated the castle, I contemplated the next steps. I would need to weave a delicate balance of allure and respect, challenge and support.
Aemond's pride and sense of duty could be the keys to unlocking his heart, and I was ready to use every tool at my disposal to secure a future where we ruled together.
Days passed, and I inserted my presence into Aemond's life like a bee to nectar. Everywhere he went, I was there, sometimes in the background, sometimes in the foreground, reestablishing my place in his world.
I knew his routines, his preferences, and his triggers. I made sure to be there, subtly influencing his thoughts and actions, drawing him closer to me.
At the moment, I sat in my chambers, a hot steaming bath drawn by the handmaidens. Suds of soap covered a few inches of my body, and the flowery scent of lavender filled the room. I sat with my eyes closed, head tilted back, legs outstretched, and arms resting on the lip of the bath.
My chamber doors swung open, and I masked the smile forming on my face. I cracked open my eyes, staring at Aemond across from me. His face was contorted with confusion.
"A servant told me you wished to speak with me," he said hesitantly.
I sighed, feigning frustration. "I had wanted to speak later, not this instance," I said, making it seem like the servant had erred in conveying their message.
He hesitated, raising an eyebrow. "I have much more important matters to attend to than answering to your every beck and call," he said, taking a step forward.
His pride was evident, but I could see a crack forming in his facade.
I sat up slightly in the water, my movements teasing and slow, placing both my arms on one side of the tub, water droplets dripping onto the stone floor.
"You're right. I apologize, your grace," I said, standing up slowly.
His one good eye widened slightly, his intense gaze roaming over my body, a look of lust and hunger masking his face. He was giving in, slowly but surely.
I exited the bathtub deliberately, the water droplets pooling on the floor around me. I walked towards my thin robe, donning it and tying the belt tightly against my body.
The wet fabric clung to me like a second skin. I shook out my hair a little, taking a step towards him.
"I suppose now that I'm dressed, we can talk," I said. He blinked slowly, his stoic composure fading ever so slightly.
"What is it you wish to speak about?" he whispered as I took another step towards him, our bodies now only a couple of feet apart.
Aemond's pride was slowly crumbling, and I knew I had to strike the right balance to win his favour. My heart raced with the thrill of the challenge, and I was more determined than ever to make him see me as his equal, his partner, and his future queen.
"I've been observing the court," I began, my voice steady and confident.
"I noticed there's a growing discontent among some of the lords about the way certain territories are being managed, especially in the Riverlands. Their dissatisfaction could lead to unrest if not addressed properly."
Aemond's eye narrowed, his interest piqued. "And what do you suggest?"
"The lords need to feel heard and valued. We should send envoys to engage with them directly, listen to their grievances and offer tangible solutions. It's not just about imposing royal decrees, it's about showing that we care for the well-being of all our subjects."
He nodded slowly, clearly impressed by my insight. "That's a sound strategy."
I took a step closer, the scent of lavender still clinging to me. "Someone on your council needs to have their ear to the ground, someone who understands the subtle intricacies of court politics and the needs of the realm. Someone like me."
Aemond's gaze intensified, his admiration for my knowledge and strategic mind apparent. "You believe you can fulfil that role?"
"I know I can. I've grown up in this castle, observing and learning. I understand the dynamics at play and the motivations of the lords and ladies. I can be your ally, your advisor, and much more. Having someone like me by your side would not only strengthen your rule but also ensure a more stable and prosperous realm."
He studied me for a long moment, his pride and pragmatism warring within him.
Finally, he spoke, his voice softer, almost reluctant. "You make a compelling case. Perhaps I have underestimated you."
I smiled, the triumph tempered with genuine warmth. "I am here to serve, your grace."
With those words, I took a final step towards him, our chests practically touching now. I looked up at him, grabbing his hand and guiding it to the belt of my robe. Slowly, I made him untie it, shaking the material off.
He glanced down, following the droplets of water still running down my body. I maintained eye contact, watching for any signs of resignation before undoing his belt and slowly removing his clothes.
His breathing grew heavier, his body betraying the stoic facade he tried to maintain. I grasped his arm once more, walking backwards until the back of my legs hit my bed.
"Perhaps, your grace could use a moment of pleasure, a brief respite" I whispered, guiding him onto the bed and straddling him, my hips rocking back and forth against his crotch.
"Perhaps," he said, sounding almost bored, but his body said otherwise.
His hands gripped my waist, pulling me closer, his lips finally breaking into a smirk that spoke of both desire and amusement.
I leaned in, my lips brushing against his ear. "You carry a heavy burden. Let me share it with you. Let me be the one who stands by your side, in both the council chamber and in moments like this."
He let out a low chuckle, his grip tightening. "You are quite persuasive," he murmured, his voice thick with restrained passion.
"I aim to please," I replied, my voice equally hushed. "And I can offer so much more than just pleasure. I can offer loyalty, intelligence, and an unwavering commitment."
Aemond's eyes flickered with something more profound than mere lust. It was a mixture of intrigue, respect, and a reluctant recognition of my potential.
"Show me, then," he said, his voice a challenge.
I accepted that challenge with a smile, leaning in to kiss him, a kiss that was both a promise and a declaration. Our lips met, and the connection between us deepened, the boundaries of power and passion blurring.
My lips trailed down his neck, each kiss deliberate, my wet hair tickling his skin as I made my way down his body. His breathing grew heavier with each touch, his composure slipping.
When I reached his hardened cock, I swiped my tongue across the tip before licking down his length slowly, savouring the taste of him.
He grabbed a fistful of my hair, halting my movements. "Don't tease," he commanded, his voice rough with desire.
I smiled up at him, nodding. "As you wish, your grace."
I positioned myself on top of him, taking him in one smooth, deliberate motion. Aemond's groan of satisfaction was immediate, his hands gripping my waist tightly as I began to move.
The sensation was intoxicating, I rode him with a precise rhythm, every movement deliberate and controlled.
My hips moved in a steady, practised motion, angling myself just right to maximize the pleasure. I could feel his body reacting to each shift, each twist, and I adjusted my movements to keep him on edge.
The intensity of his groans and the way his hands gripped my hips told me I was hitting every mark perfectly.
"You're doing well," he murmured, his voice laced with approval.
His hands roamed my body, caressing my curves, and exploring every inch of me. I leaned forward, my breasts brushing against his chest, my breath mingling with his.
"Thank you," I whispered, my voice trembling with both effort and delight. "I'm going to be everything you need, everything you want."
Aemond's gaze was fixed on me, his eyes dark with lust and admiration. "You might just be," he admitted, his tone softening.
I quickened my pace, our bodies moving together in a perfect dance of desire. My movements were fluid and confident, each thrust and grind calculated to drive him wild. I felt every pulse, every tremor of pleasure as I adjusted my angle, finding new ways to make our connection even more intense.
The room was filled with the sounds of our passion, his groans, my soft sighs, the rhythmic slap of skin against skin. We were both nearing the edge, and I felt the mounting tension in every fibre of my being. With each shift in rhythm, I pushed us closer to that precipice of climax.
As our movements became more urgent, Aemond's grip on my hips tightened. "You feel amazing," he gasped, his voice breaking with the strain of his mounting pleasure
I adjusted my angle slightly, aiming to increase the intensity. "Let go," I urged softly, my voice a seductive murmur against his ear. "Feel everything."
Aemond's eyes fluttered shut, his breaths coming in ragged gasps.
I continued to ride him with a relentless rhythm, pushing both of us to the brink. With a final, perfect thrust, Aemond's body tensed beneath me, his release spilling over in a series of deep, shuddering groans.
"Yes, yes," he moaned, the intensity of his climax overwhelming.
His pleasure triggered my own, a wave of euphoria crashing over me as I reached my peak. I gasped, my body trembling with the force of my orgasm. I cried out, the sound mingling with my breathless cries.
We both rode the wave of our climaxes together, our bodies entwined in a final, ecstatic embrace. As the intensity faded, I collapsed onto him, my breathing heavy and satisfied.
Aemond's arms wrapped around me, pulling me close. His voice was hushed but filled with a mixture of admiration and wonder.
"You've truly proven yourself," he murmured, his breath warm against my ear. "In every way."
A/n - turns out being persuasive can be quite the workout, who knew diplomacy had so many... physical benefits

Not Interested (Jasper Whitlock x M! Reader)
Summary: You never understood the hype over the Cullen family. Sure, they were beautiful, but didn’t anyone at school have enough common sense to notice something was off? Too bad a certain empath is smitten with you and merely finds your open disdain entertaining.

You never understood the hype over the Cullen family. Sure, they were beautiful, but didn’t anyone at school have enough common sense to notice something was off? They looked like marble statues—flawlessly sculpted but lifeless, almost artificial. And then there were their mannerisms, too controlled to be teenagers. It was all a bit too uncanny for your liking.
Jasper Hale was no exception. Out of all of them, he seemed like the biggest walking red flag. He wasn’t an asshole, exactly, but his whole demeanor screamed danger. Every time you glanced his way, he was as stiff as a board, eyes unblinking and hands clenched into fists beneath the table, like he was holding himself back from doing something. There was a reason people said he was the second most unapproachable Cullen, with Rosalie taking the number one spot. Yet, despite his apparent hatred for people, he seemed determined to catch your attention.
He'd linger by your locker, his eyes burning a hole in your back. When you snapped at him to get lost, he didn’t flinch. He smiled. HE FUCKING SMILED LIKE YOU WERE A KITTEN THROWING A TANTRUM. In class, he'd try to strike up a conversation, blatantly ignoring your clipped and cold responses with a patience only a saint could have. Not only did you notice this, but the whole school did, too. Jasper’s odd behavior had quickly become a hot topic.
Jessica, damn her soul, was at the head of the rumor mill, spinning far-fetched stories about you and Jasper being secret lovers. If punching someone—much less a girl—wouldn’t get you expelled or possibly arrested, Jessica would have been target number one. You tried to keep your anger in check, especially when the whole school (students and staff alike) kept staring at you and Jasper like you were part of some soap opera. But one rumor, in particular, pushed you over the edge.
“I’m not a sugar baby!” you hissed at Jessica when she tried to strike up a conversation about the nonexistent gifts Jasper was supposedly giving you. “What bullshit gave you that idea?”
“He gave you a pencil—”
“Oh, fuck off and shove that pencil—” You couldn’t finish that thought as the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch and the beginning of fourth period. Jessica just waved goodbye and scurried off, knowing your temper wouldn’t be stopped by a bell. Huffing, you made your way to history class, where, lo and behold, Jasper was already seated, a grin on his face.
As the class dragged on, you couldn’t keep ignoring Jasper or the hushed whispers of the other students. His grin never faltered, and neither did the feeling of his gaze burning into you.
Screw it.
Without waiting for the teacher to finish his lecture on some historical battle you couldn’t care less about, you stood up abruptly.
“Out,” you muttered, grabbing Jasper by the arm with a grip that brooked no argument. Jasper, taken aback, allowed you to drag him to his feet. A low murmur rippled through the class, but you didn’t care. You were done playing around.
You hauled him out of the classroom, ignoring the teacher’s confused calls after you, and pulled him down the hallway to the nearest janitor's closet. You shoved the door open, pushed him inside, and slammed it shut behind you. The tiny space was dimly lit and filled with the scent of cleaning supplies, but you didn’t let the cramped quarters intimidate you. Instead, you crowded Jasper back against a shelf, glaring up at him.
“Alright, Hale,” you snapped, eyes blazing. “I’m sick of the staring, the lurking, and the creepy smiles. What's your deal? Are you trying to get under my skin, or are you just that bored?”
For a moment, Jasper didn’t respond. Then, slowly, that infuriatingly calm smile spread across his lips. “You know,” he drawled, his voice like honey dripping off a knife, “for someone who claims not to care, you seem awfully worked up about it.”
“Cut the crap,” you growled, slamming your palm against the shelf beside his head. “You’ve been following me around like some kind of deranged puppy, and I want to know why. And don’t you dare feed me some bullshit line about coincidence.”
Jasper’s smile faded, and for a moment, his eyes flickered with something darker, something almost… amused. “Maybe some of the rumors are true,” he admitted, his voice low but steady. “Maybe I do want to get to know you better.”
The words hung in the air, surprising you. You’d expected deflection, but this was something else. You narrowed your eyes. “Get to know me?” you echoed. “And what exactly does that mean?”
“It means,” Jasper continued, his gaze meeting yours head-on, “that you’re different from the others. You don’t fawn over us like we’re gods, and you’re not afraid to speak your mind. It’s… refreshing.”
You snorted. “So, what? You think acting like a creep is the way to get my attention? Newsflash, Hale: it’s not working.”
His lips twitched, almost like he was holding back a laugh. “Oh, I don’t know,” he said. “It got you to drag me in here, didn’t it?”
That did it. You reached out, grabbed the front of his shirt, and pulled him closer, your faces mere inches apart. “Listen to me,” you said, your voice a low, dangerous whisper. “If you want to know me, try acting like a normal person instead of some stalker freak. Got it?”
Jasper didn't reply immediately, just stared at you before his gaze briefly flicked to your lips. “Got it,” he murmured, a reverent expression crossing his face that confused the hell out of you. You let go of him, expecting him to step back, but he didn’t. He stayed right where he was, not seeming at all bothered by the confined space or your proximity. “Just so we’re clear,” he added softly, “I’m not giving up. I’m still going to try to get to know you, whether you like it or not.”
Feeling a mix of frustration and something you didn’t want to name, you turned around and opened the door. “Fine, but try anything like this again, and I won’t be so nice.”
Jasper chuckled, that damn smile creeping back onto his face. “Deal, but somehow, I think you like a little chaos.”
You rolled your eyes. “Let’s get back to class, Hale.” you grumbled, stepping out into the hallway. But as you walked away, you couldn’t shake the feeling of his gaze on your back—a challenge silently hanging in the air between you.

Tingly.
That’s the state of my body this morning, the state of my mind.
Not only am I riding an emotional high from our conversation this weekend, but my dream last night… Good lord, that dream.
I can feel the echoes of his fingers on my skin, the coolness of his lips, the wet trail they would’ve left behind… the solid weight of what surely his body would feel like, pressed against mine. I can imagine all of what it would be like vividly, to be under him, to get carried away, to just explore-
“You alright, darlin’?”
His voice jolts me from the day dreaming stare I had on the locker before me, caught red handed. To make matters worse, that deep southern tenor questioned me inches from my ear, causing a blush to heat my cheeks to an almost uncomfortable degree.
“Perfectly fine, why?” I immediately busy myself within my locker so that I don’t have to face him right away.
“You do remember that I can feel you, right?” His voice is low and his hands find my hips tenderly, but the air changes around us.
My heart rate skyrockets, this is dangerous. His fingers flex against me and the death grip I have on this book in my hands turns my knuckles white.
“Jasper-” his name is a whispered warning, but also a plea.
“I know.” Instantly a cooling, soothing balm blankets our tension and I release the tightness in my chest. Leaning backwards into him I just feel tired all of a sudden, like I had run a marathon. “Let’s get out of here.”
His request sounds more like a demand and I twist in his arms, “Is that a good idea?”
“Darlin’, I don’t have many of those these days.” His mouth quirks up in a lopsided grin as he shoves all of my school supplies back in my locker, shutting it and tugging me along behind him towards the student parking lot.
Jasper
Something is on her mind, something dangerous. Something I absolutely want to know, something I’m not sure I have the strength for, but I can’t help it - it’s her.
I’ve never been more thankful for an overcast day with no rain: perfect motorcycle weather. Come to think of it, my sister had a knowing look in her eyes as my siblings all piled into their respective vehicles as I straddled my bike this morning. A decision that currently led me to now: Y/n and I leaving school before midday.
Those thoughts I interrupted earlier have her quiet, but her emotions are raging and it is driving me insane. Curiosity, need, nervousness - a dangerous concoction begging to overtake my rational mind. Separating myself from her feelings is almost impossible at this point, she is so well ingrained in me.
Finally arriving at my thankfully empty home, I shut my motorcycle off and offer a steady hand to help her dismount. Swinging my own leg over, I turn towards her and lean against it, observing her for a moment with crossed arms.
“What?” She makes eye contact as she struggles with the chin strap of my helmet.
Grabbing the helmet by the chin piece, I gently tug her forward between my legs, “Tell me.” I lace the command with neediness to encourage her to be pliant.
And judging by the way her lips part behind the dark visor, the immediate dilation of her eyes, and the weight of her hands settling on my thighs gently, I might’ve laid it on a little too thick.
Chuckling, I free her from my helmet and riding jacket. By the time I finish, she seems to snap from the daze and her hands clench on top of my legs.
“Not fair, Hale.” Feisty this morning.
I lean forward towards her ear with a grin as I stand from my bike to put away the gear, “All’s fair in love and war, sweetheart.”
Reaching to swat my chest, I grab her hand gently before she could injure herself.
Pausing as I hang my jacket up, her teasing response sends excitement through me, “Two can play at that game, baby.”
Stepping into my room, I realize too late what has her curiosity: my desk. Well, the art that occupies every inch, my art.
“What is all this?” Leafing through pencil sketches of my favorite hunting spots and pen etchings of my family at random moments, she gets to the important ones hidden below. Her breathing hitches and I know she’s found them, the ones of her.
Some are in pencil, some are in random felt-tip pens, but my favorites? Those are charcoal. A decently basic medium, but I feel like it captures so much more than anything else ever could. Maybe it’s because I use my fingers to smudge and shape her perfect curves and lines, but it radiates emotion in sweeping gestures and subtle shading - something that’s hard to capture with anything else.
“There’s-” awe, shock, surprise, they all shuffle through her and I’m on edge, waiting to hear her thoughts. “There’s so many…”
I watch her carefully examine each one and I smile when she chuckles at a few - some of her at school, some of her here in my home, moments I not only committed to memory, but to paper.
“Now you know what I do with my free time.” I smile through the minuscule anxiety that bubbles up at her seeing my secret hobby. Everyone in my family knows I draw, but they haven’t seen my drawings.
“Jasper…” I can tell she’s getting emotional, but a part of me is excited for her to see my innermost thoughts on paper, to see herself through my eyes - the unaltered beauty she contains.
“You haven’t even seen the ones I cherish the most.” Opening a familiar sketchbook buried under many other drawings, I reveal my favorites. “The very first ones.”
Her breath hitches, running a reverent finger down the first page. It’s the very first moment I saw her, crouched, scooping up papers on her first day of high school in Forks - absolutely radiant.
“You were a vision that day. A beautiful tornado that wrecked my world, I tried to capture every detail from memory because I never want to forget-”
Her hand finding my cheek breaks me from my explanation and my eyes find her watery ones, mouth open, searching for words clearly hard to get out, “Jasper…”
“I love you.” My confession steals her breath completely this time, the first time I’ve uttered these words aloud and it feels absolutely right. “I’ve loved you since the moment you hit me with that door. I knew I was absolutely ruined for anyone else and I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Tilting her chin up with the tip of my finger as it wobbles at my confession, I smile, “Say something, darlin’.”
“I love you, too.” Now it’s my turn to go wholly still. “I knew from the moment I saw you I’d never be the same, I was yours-”
I couldn’t wait another second, I closed the minuscule gap between our mouths to seal these confessions. I love her and she loves me. Me.
Tilting her head back slightly as I cradle her, I take my cue to deepen the kiss, to pull her closer carefully. Groaning into her mouth, fuck I can’t get enough of her. Trailing kisses down her jawline as she tips her head to the side for much needed air, her gasps drive me to lift her onto my desk.
“Jaz…” her breathy plea of my nickname freezes me, panic seizing my actions.
“I am a gentleman, but only just barely.” My voice is gravel in my own ears, breathed down the slender column of her throat.
A shiver from her causes me to clench my jaw and attempt to gather myself.
“Maybe I don’t want a gentleman right now.” Her whisper damns me, it fucking sets me on fire.
A slamming door downstairs straightens my spine and my hands abandon the exploration of her. Fuck, my family’s timing couldn’t be better, but also worse.
“Honey, we’re home!” Emmett’s booming voice echoes up the stairs and immediately I know he knows, he can probably smell it.
Huffing, I help her regain her footing and straighten her clothes from the rumpled mess my hands made of it. I also take half a thought to smooth her arousal, a damn shame-but a necessity if we’re to face my siblings for the rest of the evening.
“Fucking Emmett.” Her frustration draws a chuckle from me as we make our way downstairs.
“I heard that!” My brother’s response causes her to roll her eyes at me playfully and I shake my head, my heart weighing much fuller in my chest as she plucks its invisible strings with her shit-eating grin.

a bit of info on working with archangels 🕯️
the archangels, and angels in general, are beings that will never intercede without your expressed consent! they believe in free will which means that they will only work with you, give you messages, etc., if you are open and willing to receive their divine messages.
a common misconception is that angels will only help those who are religious (i.e. christian, jewish, muslim) but that is not the case! angels have nothing but love for humans and nature so they aren’t tied to any specific religious affiliation, though they come from a more religious background.
each archangel, and angel, has their own areas of expertise when it comes to guidance but nothing is beyond them! so you can essentially reach out to any angel for anything and they will do their best to help you.
i’m going to briefly talk about seven of the main archangels and list some correspondences and offerings as well!
archangel michael - the great defender
archangel michael is the great defender of all that is good. he can be called upon for help with strength and courage as well as general protection.
he is associated with the sun tarot card
offerings include: frankincense, rosemary, basil, white or blue candles, selenite, water, letters or prayers addressed to him
archangel raphael - the divine healer
archangel raphael is the divine healer. he assists with physical healing as well as emotional healing. he is especially popular with healers and those who work in the medical field.
he is associated with the strength tarot card
offerings include: lavender, rosemary, chamomile, peppermint, green candles, fresh flowers, emeralds, water, letters or prayers addressed to him
archangel gabriel - the messenger
archangel gabriel is a messenger who helps people learn how to communicate effectively. he can help you find the words you need to get your point across. he helps artists, writers, and teachers.
he is associated with the moon tarot card
offerings include: lavender, jasmine, lily, white candles, moonstone or clear quartz, water, letters or prayers addressed to him
archangel uriel - the hermit
archangel uriel is a wizened hermit figure who helps us deal with feelings of loneliness that can become overwhelming at times. he helps us learn how to be alone without feeling lonely.
he is associated with the hermit tarot card
offerings include: sandalwood, frankincense, cinnamon, red or gold candles, citrine, water, letters or prayers addressed to him
archangel chamuel - the peace bringer
archangel chamuels main mission is to bring peace to the world. you can call on him when you're suffering from anxiety or if you need help forgiving someone. he is especially helpful when it comes to relationship troubles.
he is associated with the lovers tarot card
offerings include: rose, chamomile, lavender, pink candles, rose quartz, love letters, water, letters or prayers addressed to him

Do you think songs being diegetic can work if it’s tied to the world building in someway? Maybe something like Centaurworld where the characters literally live in an overly saccharine colorful world where singing and dancing are common things to do?
Tl;Dr: It is not the existence of diegetic songs that make Hazbin a bad musical. It is the lack of non-diegetic music and how it is treated within the story that is the issue.
Based on this question and the reblog of my post, I didn’t convey my point adequately. I had said I was going to expand on this topic more in the essay, but I see that the lack of in depth context resulted in the wrong message being expressed, so please allow me to try again.
First let’s address the reblog:
To answer the question if Steven Universe does the same thing, the simple answer is no. To expand further, diegetic means that someone is literally singing. Non-diegetic is when a musical number is meant to be a figurative representation of emotions, inner thoughts, or events.
For the examples provided, when Jasper tells Sapphire to stop singing, Sapphire is literally singing and it actively plays a role in the story. Sapphire sings to let Ruby know she is okay and sets the groundwork to introduce her into the story in a manner that isn’t jarringly abrupt. That is an appropriate use of diegetic singing: it serves a story/character purpose. Whereas Stronger Than You, Garnet is not literally singing. It is meant as a representation of her feelings about her relationship and her rebellion against Homeworld’s customs on the matter. While we as the audience see her sing, Jasper does not. That is Non-diegetic.
From what I am seeing in both these questions, I failed to convey that competent use of musical theater utilizes both Diegetic and Non-Diegetic music.
In Hazbin and Helluva Boss, ALL songs are diegetic, as in all musical numbers are literally happening in the world. It is meant to be a joke when characters address the singing in the series, but instead it comes off as a mean-spirited, vapid criticism of musical theater as a genre. It also creates a disconnect when the world is designed to not have musical numbers as a norm, but then all the songs are diegetic regardless. In the effort to make all these songs diegetic they fail to delve further into the characters and their inner feelings in a meaningful way and shows a physical discomfort in doing so. Meanwhile, the story has to make excuses that don’t always make sense for these songs to happen.
I briefly touched on this when I mentioned the “Heightened sense of reality.” The example I can best come up with is A Goofy Movie. In A Goofy Movie, the world itself exists in this extremely heightened sense of reality. This is a film where Big Foot is real, cars can float, and Goofy literally survives an explosion unscathed. This is an absurd world that establishes that absurdity in a way where a song like On the Open Road can possibly be non-diegetic, but just as easily be diegetic.
Goofy starts the song by hearing sounds that are part of their world: the engine chugging, the pots and pans rattling, the keys jangling. The music is introduced diegetically, but then escalates to such a degree that it revels in the world that musical theater lends itself to. So when we ask if the song is diegetic or non-diegetic, it doesn’t matter. Because this sort of world building allows for a dead man to crawl out of his coffin to dance on the roof of a hearse in the middle of traffic. That just is the world we are in.
By Hazbin drawing attention to the song numbers being embarrassing, the show has established that we are not in a world where something like A Goofy Movie can take place. There is a sense of decorum that mirrors our own sensibilities in the world building that makes diegetic songs unnatural occurrences. That isn't to say that no character can diegetically sing in this sort of world, but that diegetic singing should be limited to those specific characters. Yet we have background characters singing along and it fails to set up an understanding of where the music is coming from.
Going back to Stronger Than You as a non-diegetic song, there is a different sense of heightened reality that comes from non-diegetic songs being interwoven into a scene. The level of suspension of disbelief that comes with not needing to question whether a song is or is not diegetic because the world has established music as a main component of its reality. Hazbin did the opposite in its effort to make fun of the idea of musicals in the first place and not incorporating music into the characters and their identities.
The issue I was trying to convey has nothing to do with the existence of diegetic songs, but how the world was never designed to support them, and the writers’ discomfort with breaking that boundary to elevate a scene to being partly metaphysical through the use of non-diegetic music.
.
.
.
.
.
And no, Moxxie's Bad Trip does not count as being non-diegetic. While it is taking place in Moxxie's mind, it is not representing anything happening in the story. Instead acting as a wholly different subplot about Blitz and Moxxie's relationship that has not been a part of the story until the Truth Serum was released. And by showing us that Moxxie and Blitz are actually not doing anything except tripping balls, that makes Moxxie's hallucination still diegetic to his reality.

I loved part two so much😭😭
Gib more Obi pls
Draconic works more like a melody than it does a language. It's tonal, drifting high and low as the two dragonborns speak, each word rolling into the next. It lingers in the air, unrushed and growled, pushed from the back of the throat in ways you're not sure your body could ever recreate. Sometimes, the conversation seems to have an edge of anger and it sets your body on guard, but then Obsidian dissolves into laughter and you relax.
You shouldn't be on edge anyway; the dark scaled stranger isn't //actually// a stranger. Jasper Vyke towers over his brother even when seated, but the strong angled spikes and ridges to his face are almost identical. His eyes keep flickering to yours as he talks, no hint of humor present on his stony features.
"You stare." Jasper jerks a chin to you.
"I'm sorry," you say, turning your attention to the campfire. "I didn't expect you two to look so similar."
"Well-" Obi covers his mouth with the back of his hand, but it doesn't hide his smile, "We are twins, my lady."
Meeting Jasper was completely a coincidence. Crossed paths led to a surprise family reunion and now the man sits at your fire, gnawing on the leg of some poor animal he hunted earlier. From stories and your brief interactions, you knew the two would be vastly different people--
You didn't expect that to almost share a face.
"We are, uh-- How do you say in Common?" He can speak Common fairly well, Obi told you once, he just prefers his Mothertongue. It's a point of pride.
"Identical."
"Indentical," Jasper repeats, "Obsidian is the smart one. I am the pretty one."
He flexes a bicep and the muscle coils under the skin. You hate to admit that you do find it attractive-- not as attractive as you find your partner, of course, but it does make you sit a little straighter. If Obi notices, he doesn't seem it mind; he's too busy watching his brother with narrowed eyes.
"I don't think you are identical at all," you say, "Obi's so much--"
"Smaller!" Jasper laughs, leaning in close to nudge you with his elbow. "So much smaller. He is the runt."
"I guess so," You agree with him, but you sense that may hurt your partner's ego, so you keep quiet, "But you are also different colors."
You touch Jasper's arm, running a thumb across a patch of scales. It's no wear near as soft as Obsidian's; there's a dry grit to the texture, closer to shark skin than anything else.
"Obsidian is iridescent-- your scales are matte," you say, "They don't shine in the light at all."
"You like my scales?" Jasper asks, chest puffed and a purr on his voice. He scooches in closer to you, leg pressed against yours, "I will give you one to keep."
Obi snaps his jaws together so forcefully that you jump at the sound. Both of you swivel to face the man. His muzzle is furrowed wildly, so much so that his fangs show to the gums. The air shifts and you can almost see the way magic crackles about him, wild, powerful, and raw. "She has plenty of scales, brother."
An anxiety builds in your chest. You aren't sure where this conflict came from, but you sense you did something wrong.
"Obi, it's fine, I like--"
Obi's attention snaps to you. "If you wish to have a scale to carry I will give you as many as you desire. You do not need anyone else's."
They switch to Draconic again, sharing a low toned conversation. Obsidian may be the smaller brother, but he carries himself with a force that has Jasper quickly backing off.
"Forgive me," The larger brother says to you suddenly.
The apology doesn't make you feel better. The seasick feeling in your chest grows more unsteady and you choose to remain quiet for the rest of the night. It's not until later than night, when Jasper is deep in sleep and snoring like thunder, that Obi approaches you again. He moves his sleeping mat closer to yours, testing your reaction, then moves again.
"Are you cross with me?" he whispers.
"You frightened me a bit," you admit just as softly, "I get unsettled easy after Adam."
Elaboration isn't needed. There's a twitch of a sneer on Obi's face when you mention him, but he mellows out again after.
"I'm truly sorry, my fawn. My anger was not focused at you," he says, "I will take care not to react like that again."
He extends a hand and you take it with a squeeze. The unsteadiness inside you quells just a bit.
"Jasper was trying to court you," Obsidian says after a bit, "And it scared me."
You forget Obi - silver tongued, charismatic Obi- is self conscious about so many things. Did he really think his brother would swoop in so easily and win your heart?
"I didn't realize. I thought he was just being nice."
"Exchanging scales is a dragonborn custom. It's my fault for not explaining it to you," he sighs, "I just..."
He doesn't finish his sentence. You don't need him too. You just squeeze his hand again, stronger this time.
"Why have you never given me a scale?"
"I did not think you would like one, my fawn."
"I want two," you say, quickly, "I shall turn them into earrings so they are always with me."
"They are not jewels," he chuckles, "They will not make very pretty jewelry."
"I disagree."
Obi doesn't respond, but you can hear the soft clicks of his purr, building in his throat.

can you do a Twilight Jasper X reader where the reader is Jasper's descendant and she turns out to be a teacher at Forks High School. She goes by her last name which is Whitlock. She does find out they're all vampires eventually. She actually ends up meeting the major later on. Instead of Jasper trying to attack Bella on her birthday, the reader saves the day by stepping in front of the major and calming him down. Feel free to change anything else. Just keep the reader being related to Jasper and that she ends up being a teacher. Garrett is her mate.
Ooh my what an interesting idea
❝descendants❞
✭ pairing : garrett x reader x jasper hale
✭ fandom : twilight x reader
✭ summary : (y/n) is the mate of Garrett and the descendant of jasper Whitlock back from his human days, now attending forks she meets her extended family and even saves someone
✭ authors note : l swear you twilight fans come up with the most interesting ideas but I can’t say I ain’t the same
✭ twilight masterlist
In the quiet town of Forks, (y/n) Whitlock walked the halls of Forks High School, her footsteps echoing softly against the linoleum floor. As an English teacher, she had dedicated herself to shaping the minds of young students, guiding them through the world of literature and writing. With her dark hair pulled back into a neat bun and a determined expression on her face, she exuded an air of professionalism.
Unbeknownst to most, (y/n) carried a secret within her veins, a legacy that connected her to one of the town's most enigmatic figures. She was a descendant of Jasper Whitlock, a connection that had been kept hidden from the world, even from the Cullen family themselves.
As the students filed into her classroom, (y/n) greeted each one with a warm smile, her eyes holding a hint of curiosity as she studied their faces. Despite her best efforts to remain impartial, she couldn't help but notice the nuances and expressions that resembled those of her ancestor.
Among her students was a familiar face - Jasper Hale. His golden eyes met hers as he walked into the classroom, a fleeting moment of recognition passing between them. Jasper's attention had been drawn by her last name - Whitlock. He had heard of the name before, in stories from his past.
Throughout the lesson, (y/n) engaged her students with discussions about classic literature, her passion for the subject evident in her words. Jasper's gaze lingered on her, his thoughts a whirlwind of curiosity and intrigue. There was something about her that stirred memories he thought long buried.
After the bell rang and the students began to file out of the classroom, Jasper approached (y/n) with a soft smile. "Miss Whitlock, your last name caught my attention."
(y/n) turned to him, her eyes meeting his golden gaze with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. "Oh? How so?"
"It's just... well, it's a name I've heard before," Jasper replied, his tone thoughtful. "In stories from my past."
A knowing smile tugged at (y/n)'s lips. She had expected this moment to come eventually, the moment when the legacy of Jasper Whitlock would be acknowledged. "Jasper, isn't it?"
His eyes widened slightly in surprise. "How did you know?"
She chuckled softly. "I have a feeling we have more in common than just our last name. You see, I'm a descendant of Jasper Whitlock as well."
The revelation seemed to take Jasper by surprise, his gaze searching her face for any signs of deceit. "Is that true?"
(y/n) nodded. "It is. Jasper, it's a pleasure to finally meet you. The stories about you and your family have always intrigued me."
Jasper's lips quirked into a genuine smile, a sense of camaraderie settling between them. "Likewise, Miss Whitlock."
As the two of them stood in the empty classroom, the weight of their shared lineage hung in the air. It was a connection that went beyond mere coincidence, a thread that bound them together through time and history. And as they exchanged stories and anecdotes, (y/n) couldn't help but feel that fate had brought them together for a reason, linking their lives in ways that neither of them could have predicted.
“Would you be interested in coming over for dinner?” Jasper asks.
“Sure, I’d love nothing more,” she smiles.
As the evening sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the Cullen household, (y/n) Whitlock found herself standing at the doorstep, flanked by Garrett. Her demeanor was calm and collected, her eyes meeting Jasper's golden gaze with a sense of familiarity. She had agreed to join him and his family for dinner, curious to learn more about the Cullens and the connection they shared through her lineage.
Jasper greeted them both with a polite smile, his easy manner putting (y/n) at ease. The Cullen family welcomed them into their home, and (y/n) couldn't help but feel a sense of intrigue as she looked around the elegant interior.
As they settled in for dinner, conversations flowed freely. The Cullens were curious about (y/n)'s knowledge of vampires and how she had come to be familiar with their kind. When the topic arose, (y/n) and Garrett exchanged a knowing glance before she began to explain.
"Garrett and I have faced the Volturi before," she began, her voice steady. "When we decided to be together, we knew the risks of him being a vampire and me being a human. So, Garrett found a way to make me a half vampire."
The Cullens exchanged surprised glances, intrigued by the revelation. "A half vampire?" Carlisle inquired.
"Yes," Garrett confirmed. "We discovered a way to blend our strengths and weaknesses, allowing (y/n) to benefit from the aspects of being a vampire while retaining some of her humanity."
Esme's eyes softened with understanding. "That's quite remarkable."
Jasper's curiosity remained piqued as he looked at (y/n). "And how did you come to learn about your ancestry and my connection to you?"
(y/n) smiled softly. "I've always known about vampires, considering my own mate is one. Garrett helped me understand my heritage, and through research, we pieced together our connection to your family. We discovered that I'm a descendant of your brother-in-arms, Peter. He was a close friend of my ancestor, Jasper Whitlock."
Jasper's eyes widened in surprise and a hint of recognition. "Peter was a dear friend. It's incredible to think that our bloodline has continued to intertwine through the generations."
The evening continued with laughter, stories, and shared experiences. (y/n) found herself at ease in the company of the Cullens, her connection to Jasper and her mate Garrett creating an unspoken bond.
As dinner drew to a close, Jasper's gaze held a mixture of curiosity and appreciation. "It's not often we meet someone who understands both our world and the unique connections we share."
(y/n) nodded in agreement. "And it's not often I meet others who share such intriguing stories. It's an honor to be here."
Garrett wrapped an arm around (y/n) with a proud smile. "We're grateful for the acceptance and understanding."
As the night grew darker, (y/n) knew that the paths that had led her to this point were guided by fate, weaving together the lives of vampires and humans in ways that were both unexpected and remarkable. And as they bid the Cullens goodnight, (y/n) felt a sense of camaraderie and connection that stretched beyond bloodlines, transcending time itself.
Garrett and (Y/N) had seamlessly integrated themselves into the Cullen family, becoming an integral part of their lives. The Cullens, known for their unique abilities and compassionate nature, had opened their hearts and welcomed the couple with open arms.
In a gesture of love and acceptance, the family decided to build a cozy cabin for Garrett and (Y/N) in the depths of the surrounding woods, a place they could call their own.
The cabin stood tall and sturdy, nestled amidst the trees, offering a sense of tranquility and seclusion. Its rustic charm blended harmoniously with the natural surroundings, a testament to the Cullens' attention to detail and their desire to make Garrett and (Y/N) feel at home.
On a sunny day, the Cullens gathered at their grand house to celebrate Bella's birthday. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy as the family exchanged gifts and shared stories. Garrett and (Y/N) were excited to be a part of this special occasion, witnessing the love and unity that bound the Cullens together.
As Bella eagerly unwrapped her gift, a small box from (Y/N) and Garrett, she accidentally nicked her finger on the sharp edge. The scent of her blood filled the air, instantly triggering the primal instincts of the vampires in the room.
Jasper, known for his struggle with bloodlust, felt his control slipping. His eyes darkened with hunger, and his muscles tensed, ready to pounce. But before he could react, (Y/N) swiftly stepped in front of him, her eyes filled with determination.
“Jasper, calm down," she commanded, her voice steady and unwavering. "You have the strength to control your urges. You can resist." To everyone's surprise, (Y/N) possessed a unique gift of her own - the ability to manipulate and control emotions. She had honed this power over the years, using it to bring peace and harmony to those around her.
Jasper's eyes flickered with a mix of confusion and admiration as (Y/N)'s influence washed over him. His tense muscles relaxed, and the hunger in his eyes faded away. He regained control, his gaze softening as he looked at (Y/N) with gratitude.
“Thank you," he murmured, his voice filled with genuine appreciation.
But as Jasper's emotions settled, a different side of him emerged. The Major, as he was known, stepped forward, his presence commanding and intense. His eyes gleamed with a fiery determination, ready for a battle of wills.
“(Y/N)," the Major spoke, his voice deep and resonant. "You have an extraordinary gift. I can sense the power within you. Tell me, how did you come to possess such control over emotions?"
(Y/N) met the Major's gaze, her own eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and respect. She understood the weight of his alter ego, the strength and intensity that lay dormant within him. "I have spent years honing my gift, learning to understand the intricacies of emotions," she replied, her voice steady.
“It is not just about controlling them, but also about empathizing and guiding them. Emotions are a powerful force, and with great power comes great responsibility."
The Major nodded, a flicker of admiration crossing his features. "You speak the truth, (Y/N). Emotions can be both a blessing and a curse. It takes a strong individual to harness their power for good."
As the conversation between (Y/N) and the Major continued, the rest of the Cullen family watched in awe. They marveled at the connection between these two powerful beings, recognizing the potential for growth and understanding that lay within their interaction.
In that moment, the bonds between the Cullens and their newfound family members grew stronger. They realized that they were not just connected by blood or supernatural abilities, but by the shared experiences and the unwavering support they offered one another.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the gathering, the Cullens and their extended family retreated to the cabin in the woods. They continued to celebrate Bella's birthday, but now with a newfound appreciation for the strength and unity that bound them together.
In the depths of the woods, surrounded by nature's embrace, Garrett, (Y/N), and the Cullens found solace and a sense of belonging. They knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, their bonds unbreakable.

Imagine if there’s a lice outbreak at the school and the Jasper Trio (either one of them or all of them) ended up being affected. Imagine the bots finding out there can be tiny bugs in the kids hair
Oh dear.
Parasites are not unheard of on Cybertron. In fact, they are rather common depending on where one goes. Most lethal parasites were wiped out with the rise of medicine back during the Age of Rust, but the team are familiar with the concept. There were worms that would did into plating and destroy all fortitude in the structure. There were small nanoinfections that would corrode optical nerves and other sense. Over the vorns there have even been waves of infections that cause a bot to loose their colors almost as if they were a dead mech walking. Any number of strange ailments have plagued Cybertron over its long history.
The team are well aware that parasites and other such things exist. Scraplets are a key example.
Finding out about the lice creature would not be shocking, but it would prompt some drastic measures. On Cybertron one of the most effective ways to remove energon leeching parasites was with fire or surgical means, in large part due to how sturdy Cybertronians are. Ratchet's first response would be to get a blowtorch out and run through ways to try and protect the children's soft organic flesh so that he can burn the creatures into ash. Optimus would suggest a slightly less drastic measure and put forward the idea of removing the children's hair entirely, much like one would remove armor to get at a parasite on a Cybertronian.
Bulkhead and Wheeljack would start contemplating an acid of some sort to melt the creatures. Bumblebee would likely be too busy trying to see the parasites to offer up much aid. Arcee would similarly try to locate the bugs with no real success. Ultra Magnus would casually remark that a full blown body wash down would be the best choice, preferably with something not safe for organic material. Only Smokescreen would be the one to suggest talking to the actual human nurse involved.
The kids would be afraid of being mutilated in some way, shape, or form from that point onward when anything relating to bugs stuck on them is mentioned.

One thing i want to talk about is how Danny Phantom A Glitch in Time is pretty similar on themes and character arcs to Steven Universe Future.
In general in DP A Glitch in Time there is this whole idea of searching for a new purpose-¨emotional drive¨ as it get called in the story- in a era where Danny managed to save the day and ¨earn his happy ending¨.
You get a lot of panels of Danny just feeling unhappy with his new status quo, not because he has tons of problems, in fact he has more than he could ever dream of. It's that he feels like he isn't needed as a hero anymore since there are other people that could fight for him. He isn't ¨useful¨, or well, in the way he used to be. He feels like people don't need him to be Amity's protector.
This itself shares a lot in common with the arc that Steven goes through in Steven Universe Future. He feels like people don't need him anymore and still tries doing the same thing he raised himself to be: a ¨helper¨, someone who is defined by his role to help others. This causes Steven to feel lost in his own sense of identity and purpose in an Era that is supposed to be ¨his happy ending¨.
You can see this applied in DP A Glitch in Time with Vlad Masters too. From the start of the story he sends off these vibes that he has been aimless since post-Phantom Planet events. When he returned to his home he found that ¨he had nothing to return to¨ as in the sense nobody missed him nor cared he was dead or alive. He also became enemy number 1 considering how he tried holding the world hostage, making him lose most of the power and position he had.
What it is interesting is how Vlad tried going back in time to ¨fix his mistakes¨ by asking Clockwork to give him that chance. From the beginning of the story he admits that he did something wrong, just not what. There is this idea that he isn't interested in being in role of the ¨villain¨ anymore. The worst he does in the story is probably looking forward to keep the origin of ghost powers for himself, aside from accidentally realizing Dan during his fight against Clockwork.
Much like Steven Universe Future, you have these characters struggling to see where they could fit in this new status quo. Their character arcs involve finding a new purpose and learning more about themselves in the process.
Lets talk about Dan Phantom's role in the story. He is the main antagonist from A Glitch in Time. He absorbs Clockwork, master of time, to become more powerful, thus causing terrible time glitches for the rest of the characters. A lot of Dan Phantom's arc in the graphic novel has to do with self-destruction. Him being obsessed with ¨winning¨ and continue fighting even when the fusion with Clockwork is very unstable, is hurting him and destroying the reality at the same time.
Dan's obsession with ¨winning¨ reminds me quite a lot of Jasper from Steven Universe as well as Steven's arc in SU Future. There is a lot of repeating what the same thing over and over even when it isn't working anymore. The character themselves struggle to be something beyond the the role them or others pushed them into and they don't know what to be outside of that.
In fact, there are some panels Dan reminded me a lot of Jasper, such as when he is getting time glitched/corrupted.
Another main theme in Danny Phantom A Glitch in Time is about the characters getting second chances- the characters in case being Vlad Masters and Dan Phantom. Both characters do the terrible things they do due to their circumstances. They have certain pretty bad things that happened to them that lead them to become evil and hurt people. In addition to this, there tons of mentions of how ghosts aren't evil and they have reasons to do what they do. During the fight against Dan, Danny tries persuading him into stepping down and stopping the fight, pointing out that the timeline is getting destroyed. At one point he asks to Dan ¨why are you so angry?¨.
I want to bring up that, yes, this theme is a continuation from the main theme of The Ultimate Enemy episode from the series. But, at the same time, when reading the graphic novel i couldn't help but think about how Steven Universe has these similar ideas of looking into what motivates an antagonist and them being given a second chance to do things right. What really made me think about this more is seeing Dan Phantom, the main antagonist from the novel getting a second chance. Because in any other show, a character like Dan would probably be destroyed but this is something that wouldn't happen in Steven Universe, since it isn't so much about if someone ¨deserves¨ it or not as it is if they choose to change.
I'm not saying that Danny Phantom A Glitch in Time ¨ripped off¨ things from Steven Universe. That would be an absurd conclusion to come to. What i'm discussing here is that it is possible that the graphic novel was influenced by Steven Universe, mainly Steven Universe Future to some extent, in terms of themes and character arcs.

You're Edward?! Pt. 2 (Male Reader)
You're Edward?! Pt. 3 (Male Reader)
Summary: M/n didn't know what he was doing: pulling a boy into the woods is how every horror movie starts, but M/n only wants to talk...and maybe kiss Edward senseless *but who wouldn't* ;)

Summary: Imprinting was supposed to be a good thing, not for you though. Fate seemed to be mocking you by having your imprint be a leech—Edward Cullen, to be more specific.
Touch Starved (Male Reader)

Jasper Whitlock
Not Interested (Male Reader)

Calm Down Cowboy (Male Reader)

Protect (Gender Neutral Reader)
Summary: You didn't care if people were against your relationship with Hannibal, calling you all names under the sun for managing to 'bewitch' one of Baltimore's highest socialites, but Hannibal was a different story.

THE AVENGERS
Steve Rogers

Natasha Romanoff
Fue Un Placer Conocerte (Gender Neutral Reader)

PJO
Nico Di Angelo
Sword Fighting (Son of Aphrodite)
Summary: You were a likable asshole—everything not associated with Aphrodite. You were devilishly handsome but with a temper of Zeus himself. It was as if you were a byproduct of Aphrodite and Ares. Unsurprisingly, you catch the eyes of many, but more so, the son of Hades, Nico Di Angelo.

so guys im writing my first fic ever and i need to know if yous think its a good idea
so basically jekyll forgets its his birthday and gets really confused why everyones being super nice to him and why theres strange boxes appearing in his office (presents) eventually he gets super paranoid cus he thinks everyones tryna trick him or lure him into a false sense of security and when he tries to ask people why everyones being so happy and nice to him they just laugh and say like haha good one jekyll! and he cant even ask lanyon whats going on cus everytime he tries to go near him lanyon gets soooooper flustered and basically runs away with some half arsed excuse (sue me theyre in love <3)
so at some point everyone like drags him into a common room or something and he has full on convinced himself that everyones gonna straight up murder him right then and there (hyde doesnt help with this at all but i love him so its okay)
turns out its just like a little gathering for a sort of birthday party cus they know he doesnt actually like big massive gatherings (thats kinda self insurtive cus i hate stuff like that im not exactly sure why) but even then they still all like YELL happy birthday at him and he damn near shits himself and yells "THANK FUCK" which scares the shit out of everyone cus they have never heard him curse never mind SCREAM a curse word
eventually henry gets pulled into another room while nobodys looking (by lanyon obv) and he thinks its just to have a wee chat or some shite cus hes queer in denial but it ends up being a straight out of an american high school love confession on lanyons part so they start smooching and BAM BAM BAAAAM jasper walks in on them and everyone just freezes for a sec while jasper is just stood there with a peice of cake and eventually he just turns on his heel and LEAVES while henry is trying to defend himself like its his last damn breath but lanyon stops him and they smooch again
ill write another one for hyde cus i love him <3

Pink Onyx AU- An Analysis and Theory Post, Part 5
[Part 1] | [Part 2] | [Part 3] | [Part 4] | [Part 5- You are here!]
~
Apologies for this post going up far later than intended!
This is the final part of my analysis series on the excellent @pink-onyx-au comic made by @ceephorsshitshow. If you haven’t already, please check out the first four parts- linked above- for more information on what these posts are all about. A lot of this analysis will build on what came previously.
Now, here’s where I’m really starting to take a big ol’ stab at some speculation.
__
Question Seven: Is Steven’s mental repression about corrupting ALSO causing him to physically repress post-corruption scars?
Not only has Steven as a whole continuously shied away from discussing anything about his corruption incident, but he’s been vocally downplaying it, too… his voice overtly growing smaller the one time he overtly references it.
(Episode 1: Page 6)
He briefly alludes to his corruption later when he realizes that Onyx bears their own corruption scars (and ones that defo weren’t Jasper influenced), but beyond that he hasn’t willfully mentioned this topic one bit.
Which… if we didn’t already know how much he Deeply Dislikes Talking About His Own Feelings… would be odd, given the fact that one of his big reasons for trying to fuse with Jasper is to “feel what it’s like to be each other” and try to foster a better understanding between them both. Like, Steven. Buddy. Corruption is a HUGE thing that you now have in common with Jasper. At some point, you’re gonna have to bite that bullet and actually sit down and process this reality.
Far earlier in this analysis series, I brought up a bit of dialogue from Jasper that I said I’d be discussing later.
(Episode 2: Page 15)
“That human form you wear must have been hiding your markings.”
Yeah, this bit.
Even if Steven isn’t vocally bringing up the elephant in the room himself, Jasper seems to immediately recognize what he’s gone through. (Something something, ambient thought sharing within fusion.)
And her theory here is interesting, albeit not entirely accurate.
Not only is Steven’s human form hiding his markings, but his Gem form seems to be, too. Because we’ve seen his Gem.
(Episode 3: Page 11)
He harbors almost no corruption remnants save for a set of noticeably sharp upper teeth (that full hybrid Steven does not have.)
Now, why is this? Why does Onyx present with what should be Steven’s corruption markings, but not Steven or his own components?
Let’s take a quick look to catalog which features are whose before we move on. Let’s start simple- with Jasper.
Jasper only has three notable post-corruption marks- one splotch on her left shoulder, one on her right hand over her thumb, and a pair of horns sticking up through her hair. They’re easily traceable on Onyx’s design.
(Episode 2: Page 12)
There they are! I’ve circled them in red for convenience. Of course, what the big bomb at the end of Episode 9 suggests to me (Steven suddenly showing evidence of corruption scars) is that every other trace of past corruption on Onyx is something that Steven brings to this fusion. Which means, what he’s bringing to the table must be:
Two separate splotches on the right arms, visible claws, and the arm spikes we saw his corrupted form with in “I Am My Monster.” (I imagine that Steven’s corrupted form also having horns influences how long Onyx’s are, compared to Jasper’s.)
Not to mention, uh…
(Episode 7: Page 7)
This gigantic ass geode scar on their back. Which we know for a FACT is Steven’s, because-
Something about being Onyx with Jasper results in these normally repressed features manifesting in full… even when he’s still avoiding conversation about it. Is it due to some sort of subconscious feeling of acceptance- the sense that he feels safer being his rawest self around her, since she’s been through the same thing? Or is it something else entirely?
Bottom line is, Steven may be able to repress these markings just as he does his own emotions… but Onyx does not. And with this latest episode, it seems that certain aspects of this fusion are already rubbing off on him.
(Episode 9: Page 22)
We at least have a visual on the large mark with two overlapping circles on his right arm in these frames.
But, uh… let me ALSO point your attention to-
Yeah. Y e a h. I think that’s the very tippy top of Steven’s version of the back scarring we see Onyx with. It’s hard to say for sure if it’s the same geode scar design, but it’s definitely something.
Anyways! The boy’s got visible scars now. Can’t really hide from the reality of your own experiences looking like this, huh? *twiddles fake and very mysterious mustache*
__
Where I think all this could be going:
Now. With all those discussion points out of the way, I’m gonna do a bit of theorization on where I think a few plot threads could be going.
Number one.
Onyx’s healing spit and “Jasper’s ugly plants.”
(Episode 4: Page 10)
While re-reading, I noticed that there’s a growing pattern of Onyx using their healing spit- either intentionally or not- and then their surroundings reacting very swiftly to their mental state. In the above panel, a fronting Jasper tries to use the spit to fix a broken rock. Then, when she speaks ill of the fusion after it fails to work, the spit begins to melt away at said rock as if it were acid.
(Episode 7: Page 10)
Something similar happens when Onyx spits onto the ground here. After Jasper speaks with intent to cause harm to the fusion to split them apart, a creeping vine begins to ominously sprout out of the ground while they’re not looking. (And then, it legit just gets. Sucked into the ground. Oughhgoughhgh spooky.)
I think this plant is the same one that Onyx puts on blast as “Jasper’s ugly plant” in the next episode, that venus flytrap lookin’ one.
And I think the reason it has grown so large and aggressive is that the results of Onyx’s healing spit usage is tightly intertwined with their emotional state. Thus, whenever Onyx says or thinks something negative about themself, the plants they’ve created leap in size. Or in the case of the spit on the rock, it starts to decay. It feels like a logical extension of the way Steven’s activation of his powers at ALL is linked to his emotions.
With all of this in mind, my theory is that over time these plants are going to cause more and more of a problem as Onyx continues to beat themself down- and that the growing urgency of this issue will act as a sort of visual feedback for them when it comes to trying to escape this cycle of negative self-talk and self-loathing.
Number Two.
Re: everything that's been discussed in previous posts, I think Jasper’s arc here is going to be centered around two things. First, I think she’ll have to finally reckon with the reality of her shattering and come to terms with the fact that she actually IS upset about what Steven did to her.
Second, I think she will- through what I’m hoping will eventually be a healthy fusion dynamic as Onyx- start working through her deep-rooted abandonment trauma.
(Episode 8: Page 9)
Said fusion may not be someone who gets to exist forever as she might prefer, but Onyx’s existence even for a SHORT time deeply matters, and this makes the experience alone incredibly worth it, in my mind. I dearly hope she comes to realize this too, one day.
Number Three.
I think the sudden surfacing of corruption scars for Steven is going to (in time) force him to stop repressing his own feelings about what he went through from the people around him and actually push him to start talking about this experience, to actually process it.
Crucially, he won’t be able to conceal these markings from Jasper, and they will finally see eye-to-eye on realizing they hold this experience (corruption) in common, and that they both in some way felt they deserved it for the people they became. Suffice it to say, I am very eyes emoji at the fact that an upcoming episode is titled “Self-Hatred,” with the description “Steven and Jasper realize what they have in common.”
Y e p. Yep, yep, yep. Whatever happens in that episode is bound to be VITAL to the trajectory of Onyx’s story.
Because only once they both recognize and vocalize what they both hold in common and stop running from these facets of themselves can their fusion truly find lasting harmony.
__
Lingering questions with no clear answers:
What I’ve discussed in these posts is for sure not exhaustive- this comic is very dense with potential lore musings and interpretations, and there’s plenty of lingering mystery even still. Here is a list of some of the questions I still have jangling about in my mind, off the top of my head:
What is the deal with that rabbit, and is it anything more complex than “Onyx healed it?” Why does it snap alert and glow whenever Onyx is active? I think this connects with my earlier healing spit musings in some ways, but I have not determined how yet.
Steven got nicked by a prickly vine in Episode 5, and a bit of his blood was lingering on the thorn afterwards. Where is this leading? (Also seems connected to the healing spit musings.)
What is the purpose of all the glitchiness at the edges of some of the panels? Is it merely an extension of the instability suggested by the butterfly motif, or does it mean something entirely different?
What exactly was Connie’s hunch about Steven when she reached out to Pearl? We know from the most recent episode that Pearl thinks Steven is trying to hide rebound transformations… and possibly Amethyst, too. But what about Connie? She has a lot more context from her text conversation than any of the others do, right now.
And what does Garnet actually know? We haven’t seen any of her perspective yet except that one ominous future vision timestream spread.
As a final little note to cap off this post series, thank you so much to @ceephorsshitshow for your incredible and frankly, inspirational work on this comic- and for allowing me to pilfer so many of your stunning comic panels to go absolutely hog wild analyzing your work. Regardless of whoever else reads these, I hope that at least you got a kick out of observing my Suffering in the Meta Trenches of your own story, ahahah.
Thank you to any of y’all who have read along with me- and for god’s sake, if you’re still here and you haven’t checked out this comic yet, what on Earth are you doing? Go, go- to the tumblr page with you! Check it out, holy shit!
You can read the Pink Onyx comic here.
Have a nice day/night, all!
Curtains.
