it's ok to go at your own pace. Writer's block is a bitch and we all gotta slap her in our own ways. I think we'd all agree that the work of an author is better when they're not forcing themselves to write. So don't sweat it

I knooooow I just like to meet expectations you lovely readers have for me. That said, I am trying to ease back into writing after months of my life being an absolute disaster.

I've got docs open, and I'm pecking at them bit by bit. I plan to do a few one shots or something like that to get back into the swing of things before jumping back in fully.

Grimdark is kinda its own continuity so I'm figuring it out as I go and its driving me up a wall format wise. BUT I DO CHEW ON IT TRYNA FIGURE IT OUT. We'll get there. I also just forget people care.

And honestly, I got some criticism on the fic MONTHS ago and it kinda killed the joy. It's eased a lot though, so I'm hoping the vibes return soon.

I love my grimdark and I am not abandoning it yet. Just... staring at it and poking it with a stick for now. We're getting there. I do have a draft in storage. I should pull it out again now that its been a while-

And I swear there are references for the characters I just can’t find them, love the story though and I want to draw something for it

There are no official references for TMLOOP anymore. I made attempts, but I was a baby artist at the time and those old designs should go burn in a fire somewhere. I leave interpretations of the lives up to the readers now tbh. I think its more fun that way.

That said, I can give you some inspo!! I'd love to see any and all art of my darling magnum opus of a fic :3 (btw I have the next chapter halfway done. Allllmost ready for reading)

Second: He would have been a speedster if he lived, so he's made of blue, dark and light, more Blurr coded. Imagine him as you will.

Convoy: Red and white, a big heavy shuttle frame. Think Skyfire in basic structure, but with Drift style paintwork all over him.

A-88: Red and Blue, the traditional OP look. He's based off IDW Orion Pax, the one with the lips. He has vents along his back to let him work and drills in his arms alongside the warning tape, but that's about all of his notable traits other than his civilian look.

Autoway: Embodiment of IDW Enforcer Orion Pax, he's red and blue, bulky, and ready for war. Originally I intended for all the lives to have a basis in some continuity of Optimus/Orion, but I got somewhat derailed with character development. But yeah, Enforcer Pax is his base + all his accumulated injuries.

Oberon: Based off Dominus and Minimus, he's a turbofox, but throw a different color palate on him (grey and red). There's more to him, but no spoilers yet :)

BEGGING FOR AN ACTION UPDATE

I'M WORKING ON IT BRO (I say this fondly)

I am debating the flow of the chapter currently. I know it is going to be Orion's POV, and I know how he is going to initially respond to everything, but I am determining the content of the chapter outside of him and mommy chatting it up.

Also it was artfight this month so I was super distracted and wrote NOTHING. But it's almost over so I'll be back to the grind.

Sorry for not being super active on the writing end of things as of late. Moving and then having to restart life stuff kinda throws a wrench in things doesn't it?

I'm hoping that once I adjust to my new job and getting crap in order I'll feel more at ease writing again. In the meantime, I plan to scrape some things together, but I'll be slow so as to not burn out.

Thank you for your patience you lovely people!!! You lot are an absolute treasure and I have no intentions of vanishing. I'm just not as energetic as when I was a student and I anticipate my fics updating at a snail's pace for a while.

What does the infrastructure of Cybertron look like in A Vision of Past and Future? I’ve just kinda been imagining it like a multiplayer Minecraft world - individual prime’s bases that are built up and cool, with large stretches of freaking nothing in between and fast travel ways, with one central built up hub somewhere for communal things.

You've got it pretty much right on the money! Before there was civilization or anything really, there was Primus's body, rocks, energon, and whatever the heck the Primes made. After all, there was no Well, and since no Prime had given themselves to Primus at that point, there was no blueprint for animal life aside from the things Quintus cobbled together.

Cybertron is a landscape of shifting land, mountains, and absolutely frickin NOTHING in A Vision of Past and Future. So there's plenty of room for each Prime to have what could amount to an entire dang continent for themselves. They each have their 'home' and whatever else, with the odd interspersed thing in-between each unspoken border. Their domains are generally kept apart to have some semblance of independence. For this reason, travel takes FOREVER. That's why Megatronus was gone for what amounted to months when he went to go deal with the other Primes and left Solus with Thirteen.

They had to walk.

Everywhere.

At least until the tunnels were constructed. Which at this point in the fic, they are still being built to tie to places of importance. There are a few that are active, but if a Prime really needs to get somewhere, generally the answer is take a long Hobbit style journey.

The Primes getting together is a rare thing because of this. Information is also slow to travel, especially when combined with the constant tension between them all. It's a hot mess, and what may have happened in perfectly good time, like Solus and Megatronus's relationship, comes as a downright surprise to the rest.

Yeah, pre-Well Cybertron was initial release Minecraft with thirteen different players messing with each other endlessly and with proximity chat on.

I request your input on how the autobots (tfp) would deal with.. the fact rabies exists. That (almost) any organic creature can get it and basically get turned into a slobbery hyper-agressive zombie. How would they deal with the fact their beloved humans are not one of the few who are immune? I imagine it started by one of the kids rushing into base because there was a rabid dog not far away, leading to the autobots to look up videos and documents about rabies, perhaps?

This is such a random ask, but sure. Let's lore this.

Ghouls, spark eaters, various parasites, all of those are fairly common knowledge on Cybertron. The Bots are aware of things that can send a mech spiraling into madness, illness so severe a mech can lose their mind in agony. Ratchet witnessed the Rust Plague, Optimus got to see the effects of Dark Energon up and personal down at Primus's Core. Each living Cybertronian is well accustomed to things that mess with the mind.

That said, rabies is... interesting.

When Jack came into base looking tired, Miko a little unnerved, and Rafael unusually quiet, the team were rightfully concerned. Jack spoke of a wild dog that he described as rabid. He had to drive it off by throwing rocks and seemed rather unsettled as he elaborated. The team understood to an extent why a dog might be concerning for the children considering their size. But the moment Rafael mentioned it probably had rabies and he wanted to go in to get checked to see if anything might have happened to him, the team perked up in concern.

Out of curiosity, Ratchet went and looked up the condition. Arcee in turn questioned the children, asking how dangerous this 'rabies' was. The answer left the team very uncomfortable.

A disease that can't really be stopped, one that degrades the mind, driving an individual to madness and urging them to attack and lash out, acting out of the ordinary until they expire... it was eerily similar to several programming based ailments, usually of the lethal variety. With the dots connected, Optimus not so quietly gave the order for the children to always be escorted in. Bumbleebee, Arcee, and Bulkhead were quick to comply.

Not a soul wanted to see their three little humans turn into something as horrific as a ghoul because of a mere dog.
