"Cut!" the director calls.

Tom, who was hovering atop me from the bed we were laid upon, pulls back, pressings his lips into a line, and rolls off, landing on his back.

I, who had been making out him for about 30 minutes, prop myself up on my elbows and eventually sit up. I suck in a breath, willing the haze that comes in the aftermath of kissing. I catch sight of the incoming stylists, ready to retouch our makeup and readjust our wardrobe.

I straighten up as the makeup artist redoes my foundation with her brush. I turn to the artist that goes up to Tom and I point a bit worriedly, "I think I accidentally messed with his wig."

Tom, who's stylist immediately check on his platinum hairpiece, turns to me, chuckle, "her fingers were two inches away from snatching it off."

They all laugh at his sentiment. I, in particular, snort and frown playfully, "fake news. You're such a drama enticer."

"What?" Tom chuckles, "I'm not kink shaming," he raises his hands, "but you can't just snatch my wig, baby."

I scoff, rolling my eyes, holding back my grin. I turn to the the stylists, absolutely humored and enamored by Tom's English drawl and smooth talking, "he's such a dweeb."

Tom pulls his upper lip up in faux annoyance, "I'm offended you think so little of me."

Once our makeup was retouched and ready, Tom and I go back to our spots on the other side of the set. He extends a hand out to help me up, although I didn't need it, and I take his hand, allowing him to lead us back to our marks. Totally normal. Totally no butterflies in my stomach.

Tom and I face each other, waiting for our queue. We absentmindedly look around the set. There are distant voices of crew members conversing behind the camera.

It turn to Tom when he pushes back hair behind my ear.

I give him a look and he gives me a narrow eyed smirk, as if nonverbally saying he did that just to mess with me. I ignore him and the tightening of my chest.

The next moment, the intimacy coordinator walks up to us with the director, the latter of the two says, "great shot guys, but I'm thinking wilder."

"Are we ok with that?" the intimacy coordinator asks, looking between us as she raises a thumb up with her questioning gaze.

Tom and I turn to each other, nodding softly as we purse our lips and mutter agreements.

"Ok," the director points, motioning over to the bed, "I think in this part, where you push up her skirt, you have to make sure the camera can see your hand on her thigh, Aegon."

Aegon's actor nods as we walk over to bed.

"Should we practice it?" I apprehensively offer.

"We can," Tom says, turning between the three of us, raising his hand out to me. I grab his hand and place it on my hip, hiking my skirt, placing up the bunched up fabric in Tom's hand. Much like a while ago, I place my hands on Tom's shoulders, leaning back a bit. His hand goes to my waist, and I huff, ignoring the washing machine turns in my stomach.

"Are we good?" the intimacy coordinator asks again, coming near us, placing a hand on our shoulders. Both Tom and I turn to her and agree. She smiles and nods, stepping back, "okie dokie.

The director steps forward, adjusting our form, turning over her shoulder, "how are we looking?"

One of the assistants calls, "looking hot!"

"Nice," the director grins, turning back to us. She turns to me, "you're good with whining out his name?"

"Tom?" I catch myself, "I- I mean-" but it's too late.

Tom, the director, the intimacy coordinator, and everyone else who catches my questioning tone, breaks into a giggle.

I bare my teeth in a tight grin, straightening myself up, pulling my hands away from Tom, "I meant Aegon," I weakly say.

Tom chortles, loosening his grip on me as he looks off to the camera, "for the record, she did not."

The director chuckles, slapping Tom's shoulder playfully as she turns to me, correcting, "Aegon!"

"Aegon," I nod my head.

"Aegon," Tom grins, as he says my character's name sequentially.

I roll my eyes at him, "yes but Aegon keeps forgetting her name."

"Fine," Tom says, continuing with my name as he throws a lopsided smile.

"Enough," our director, chastised lightly tapping Tom's nose, "if you two screw this up I'm making you do 600 push ups."

Tom gasps, pulling his hands away from me altogether, to hover his them by either side of his cheeks, "not corporal punishment."

I cross my arms, scoffing in amusement, turning to the director, "please actually make him do 600 pushups if he messes up."

Tom laughs loudly, "aha," he tilts his head, "and what should I do to you for calling out my name on," he raises his two fingers and wiggles them " 'accident', sweetheart?"

"Quit being annoying," I raise my brows at him, pursing my lips.

"That means you find me distracting," he retorts victoriously, wiggling his eyebrows next.

"Alright," the director raises her hands in front of both our faces, "that's enough flirting. On your marks."

ATHLETICS TRACKING - 6/7/23

been a lil bit. i think im making progress? i mean i am literally making progress but its slow slow slow. much slower than id like! but lets talk about how its actually goin before i start bitchin about it lol

as far as weights go: i Am movin up there but bad form (deadlifts and barbell rows are really hard when you have hamstrings thatre as tight as mine are) and inconsistent training has really stymied me. there were a couple weeks there where i was missin at least a day a week, if not two. im not even squattin a hundo yet! that was supposed to be like three weeks ago! anyways i think i might try and get a new alarm app, since using my system clock for both training (volume low so it doesnt disturb others) and actual waking up (volume up so i scream out of bed) has been the majority of whats fucked me. plus holidays, plus days where im not at the office, plus l, plus ratio, plus furp. anyways, weights. i can hit the 5x5 on 40lbs overhead press with a lil exertion, so im gonna try and go back to the 45lbs tomorrow. squats are sittin pretty at 95, ill be trying for 100 tomorrow too. deadlifts n barbell rows i just complained about, ive been thinkin about moving to dumbbell rows but i dont wanna give up on the barbell yet. bench has been fine too. check the numbers below, which will now feature PREVIOUS REPORT COMPARISONS.

cardio has been better, tho really all i did was turn my speed up. i literally bustered out this morning, couldnt even make it to 30 minutes runnin steadily up from 5mph to abt 6.2. which i think is good? im assuming its better to be pushing myself than to plateau at a certain speed, though like i said last time cardio is really a supplemental training for me. consistent extended high heart rate is better than supersonic speed. idk. i at least feel like im really pushin myself there so ill keep on keepin on.

body numbers are i think doin better? weighed myself in at 156 on monday but havent been able to check what the bf% reading was. ive been doing my damndest to stick to a roughly ~1800cal/day diet, to mostly success. getting enough protein is still the biggest problem but im genuinely starting to worry about that less bc im getting at least like 150g during the workday, between protein bar and shake and super slunker lunch (been doin a double meat no rice at chipotle the last few days. their stupid lil calculator says im good but im not sure if i believe it lol) and usually a good amount at home that im sure im at least crossing my bodyweight in grams each day. the extra .5 im supposedly supposed to be eating to meet my 1.5x while im cuttin ehhhhh im less worried about. anyways, i think ive been noticing a lil more muscle in the mirror? could be a lil confirmation bias but im just gonna confirm that bias bc i need a lil somethin here lol. onwards!

as soon as you sent that last message you hopped in the shower and started getting ready. you debated whether to put on makeup or not and then eventually decided to do it. you wore that one red dress that greatly accentuated your butt and your curves. you checked the clock and it was 30 MINUTES UNTIL 1 so you finished up by brushing your hair and adding on a spritz of peach scented perfume. “Hopefully this impresses him.”

the cafe you guys agreed to meet at was only a short walk away from your apartment. you were almost at the cafe when you noticed the time again and it was already 10 MINUTES PAST 1! you were so scared that he thought you stood him up but as you got closer, you noticed a cute boy sitting by himself outside. you stared at his backside for a little, unsure if this was your mystery boy. so you messaged him on the app

You were kind of shocked by his beautiful smile and his spiky hair. It took you a while to respond as you tried to take in the wonderful sight in front of you. He was simply breath taking. You could tell he was the athletic type by the way his shirt hung onto his broad, toned shoulders. 

“Ummm... L/n? Are you okay? Do you want any coffee or sweets from the cafe?”

“OH, oh my god, I’m so sorry! I got distracted..” you said as you looked away from him, getting redder by the second. you hadn’t even noticed his compliment or the way he kept eyeing you up and down and licking his lips. “Yeah, I’d love to get a coffee, if you don’t mind. Please..”

His eyes snapped back up to yours. “Awesome, I’ll go order inside. You can just sit your pretty little self here while I do that. Don’t run away! I’ll be right back!”

now that you had some time to reflect on what the heck just happened.. you breathed a sigh of relief. You couldn’t believe that he was real and so goddamn gorgeous. His little tuft of blonde hair at the front of his head was so cute and his smile.. goddamn. the way he looked at you.. and his friendly demeanor. it was all so much to take in. you didn’t really know how to react. as soon as you had relaxed, you tensed back up as he came back and sat down with you.

as soon as you said his first name, his eyes lit up and that bright pink hue on his face soon turned into a passionate red

when you said that last part, Noya almost spat out his coffee. you laughed at the look on his face. he was blushing so much he couldn’t keep still. you were almost afraid he would just run away from you and never come back.

He just tried to regain his composure and laughed. “You really got me there oh my god i almost choked. But yeah I can’t wait to play again.”

The rest of the afternoon you guys talked about everything from anime to your favorite season, to your least favorite horror movie. The more you two bonded over common interests, the more he let his wild side out. He became more rambunctious and fiery and this did things to you, to say the least. you checked your phone to check the time and it was already 6:45 pm. You had no clue as to when the sun had started setting, but it didn’t matter because you hadn’t felt this warm fuzzy feeling in your heart in a while. it felt so nice. you didn’t want it to end. but then noya interrupted your thought by saying, 

“Hey, (y/n)..” you two were on a first name basis already and it was just the first date. “it’s getting pretty late and I have to go home and help out my family with some stuff. I hope you don’t mind. Sorry! But we can definitely go out again if you want. i know i sure do..”

“Yes, of course! I totally get it. But first can I get your number?” you look away as you say this because this was the first time you’ve ever asked a guy for their number. 

you two exchange phone numbers and hug goodbye. you let the hug linger for a little longer than you should and plant a quick soft peck on his cheek and say,

“I can’t wait to see you again, Yuu.”

He just smiles and replies, “Me too, Y/n. I’ll see you again soon, babe.”

You freeze up and don’t know what to say as he walks away. you think to yourself, “did he really just call me babe?”

there was some artwork from someone on tublr..where they pointed out that he doesnt really talk outside the metaverse so--hes hyperverbal as joker and just near nonverbal as akiren

OOOO i was so mad on tuesday. it still makes me so mad. tuesdays are my busy days bc i teach and have a seminar that goes until 9:30 BUT each thing had like massive projects to get done by the end of the day. like i had to finish grading essays and all that which takes so long and jt was peer review day so i was just virtually running around trying to get to everyone. so all my time before class was prep and grading and grading and then! i had to prepare to present my seminar paper! ok which i knew about last week and its Supposed to be for practice and feedback. but you know just that tight grip of inferiority (the subject is.....not something i study at all its a requirement) so i just write out the majority of the essay and make notes on presenting and EVEN used ARIAL because thats the standard font for presenting a paper like at a conference. i IGNORE my little angel pepper girl so i can get everything out. I couldnt even stop to pat her tummy and her chin. i finish with like 15 mins to spare and im number 4 in line. and yall these mfs just. they dont even have a thesis made. or have an outline. nothing. they reiterate their proposals. and thats generous like the first two didnt even have notes they were just openly talking about how they straight up havent written or researched anything else since we turned in the proposal (?????its been like 3 weeks) and they take the Hole 20 Minutes just bullshitting and my prof is too passive to be like are you kidding me, so they get away with talking about nothing for almost half an hour! when it was my turn to present it was just. hi everyone um. i was silly and thought the “present seminar paper” in the assignment description meant that i had to present a paper which apparently isnt the correct interpretation so i have an actual paper. and bc it was last minute i had no visuals so im reading quotations out like a buffoon having to be like hey i. didnt say that someone else did (greteman 412). and i forgot to check if these guys were legitimate all i knew was it was from MLAIB annnnd some of them were published in fucking like Milton and His Stupid Shit Quarterly like all class our prof just rags on some scholars and im like ooooo shit what if she hates them so i was jdhahaskJCNS AWKWARD. Zoom could not blur out how red i was. both slightly embarrassed but mostly like why. why am i in this position i DID the assignment as it was written! also fuckignshah I DIDNT EVEN do it right technically! it still needs another ~1k! thats not even counting a conclusion! so i finish just like cool i didnt have to write a 3500 word mess in arial font (its so ugly in the header). i could have truly shown up to class stoned and be on par w everyone. i used to get satisfaction from being the standout in a class well. i mean i still do but i hate this class and prof so im really trying to do the least effort to get an a. and here i am putting my entire pussy in a paper about MILTON EWWWWWWWWWWWWW i was able to smoke after tho lol rant over!

14: what inspired you to make your character?

i guess i’ll go through each of them.

norixius kava, dragonborn paladin (out of the abyss). this was my first one and i had no idea how dnd worked haha at all. in the car on the way to my cousins place, i was driving, and my dad and brother were reading through the books and talking about the races and classes and stuff and explaining to me bc obvi i couldnt read them bc i was driving haha. anyway we got to my cousins place and each of them paired up w the three of us to help make our first characters and we rolled for stats and they asked if i had anything i wanted to play and i was like “idk dragonborn sounds really cool” and they were like thats as good a reason as any, and then they suggested paladin would work well w my stats so i was like sure why not and did it haha. she survived the campaign, to level 11

matilda, human monk (curse of strahd). this was point buy system. i had mentioned seeing a homebrew avatar thing, so one of my cousins mentioned how way of the four elements monk is like the avatar, so i read through it and thought it sounded cool. i took the mobile feat, and went way of open hand instead. in this campaign we had a fight where four characters died outright (three deaths due to natural 1s in the death saves) and only two survived, including matilda. the dm mentioned taking the dead people to another room to discuss what to do and i was like “nah brian and i will just move since we’re the only alive one and theres more of you”. they ended up becoming revernants (idk spelling) but i suggested adding a caveat in place where every time you died as a revernant, you lost 1hp from your max, which we did. we then abandoned this campaign after 4 levels bc my uncle who was dm-ing was having trouble finding the time to read the campaign

jamnugget, gnome fighter (arcane archer) (storm kings thunder). this was rolling stats. one cousin rolled between 13 and 18 for every stat, and after race ability improvements got all 14-18…. so he multiclassed all of them and got to level 12 as one of each class it was a beautiful amalgamation (omg i spelt that correctly first try haha). then someone else rolled three single digit stats but was told he wasnt allowed to reroll so he became a druid for wildshape. he had -2 con, so only adding 3hp per level, starting at 6hp. 3rd level before he got double digits. if you averaged the rolls of these two you got normal stats haha. anyway onto my character. my cousin suggested the arcane archer thing on unearthed arcana so i was like “sure ok”. turns out you only got two magic arrows per rest thing and they werent very good so i hardly used them. the sharpshooter feat was way better. the best part tho was bc we were fighting so many giants, at one point someone cast fly on me, someone else cast greater invisibility on me, someone else gave me bless, so then i went in a chased a giant just shooting him on my own while everyone else was doing something else it was great. i also accidentally succeeded on an intimidation check bc an npc was saying “im sure we could handle a giant” when we asked about that and i was like “ive killed 15 myself” (bc we were keeping tallies on our sheets) and the guy panicked bc was technically in an alliance w them whoops. jamnugget survived the campaign. six of the seven original characters survived to the end, my brother went through four characters

maegrakka, half elf barbarian. we were told to make characters for a quick one shot dungeon thing for when storm kings thunder dm wasnt able to make it. so i made a barbarian bc i decided that was something i hadnt done yet and would be easy to just make (no spells. i have a strong aversion to spell casters). i think shes level 3 now???? every time we play this everyones like “wait whats my character again” bc its so long in between haha

nissa, human rogue 1 monk 2. one shot a friend wanted to dm before he moved to canberra. it was very fun. i made a monk bc i was desperate to play again bc matilda had been abandoned. i added a rogue level for sneak attack damage, w mobile feat, it was great

clover, human fighter 11 or 12, monk 3 or 4. level 15 fight to the death situation. i knew how powerful the arcane archer stuff was so i did it here. monk levels were to give me back up in case i got engaged in melee. i shouldve had some sort of healing that was my downfall. my first character to die bc three of them were ganging up on me!!

meredith, elf wizard (tomb of annihilation). we started off playing as commoners, as servants to this lord guy. so i was a librarian and realised id have to be a wizard dammit. i hated the spell casting part haha. she died. its funny bc my dads character died at first level, then we levelled up. brians character died at second level, then we levelled up. they were also sitting next to each other. i was sitting in the next seat along so was worried i was also gonna die… then my brother took that seat and died instead. so i was like there is definitely a curse. i was in the next seat along, and then one of my cousins. then came a fight where my cousin next to me turned to stone and then i died. turns out he could come back to life so the death seat thing continued. we levelled up to level 4 after my brother and i died in separate sessions in the same location. also my dad and brian died in the same location in separate session. so now theres multiple patterns - theres the “someone needs to die to level up” thing, and the death seat thing, and the two characters dying in the same location in separate sessions thing. w my cousin who got turned to stone, i keep on insisting he stays in the death seat bc either he dies (death seat) or he doesnt (he tricked death w the stone thing so is now immune), and if he doesnt die either it skips him and my uncle dies, or no one else dies ever. its very exciting haha. also w this campaign theres a map thing only the og characters can see and we’re joking how now only three characters left can see it and you can see how my cousin the dm is getting worried that we’ll all die haha. also the campaign is about how the og characters lord got sick and we need to find a cure, but once the og characters die then who cares about the random lord? itll be very funny haha

elenoa, tabaxi monk (tomb of annihilation). since i started at level 4 here, and matildas campaign got abandoned at level 4, it felt fitting to play a monk again. no mobile feat yet, but im playing the sun soul monk from xanathars which gives a radiant punch w a range of 30 ft so i dont need to get close to punch and then use mobile to run away. 

i havent even talked about where the names for each one came from….. maybe another time if asked……..

17: what is your favourite race?

idk actually. the only races ive ever played multiple times are humans, but altogether ive played longer as a dragonborn or gnome than human so like. theres not super much difference in the races in phb, like its just flavour. the new races and stuff have heaps extra stuff, but tabaxi is the only one of them ive ever played and only two sessions so far. i think humans are cool bc you get a feat at level 1 haha but other than that theres not really much difference in them yknow? races w darkvision make things easier too haha but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

sunday. i was really worried about my week. overall, i had 2 essays, a unit exam, three readings, two quizzes, a position post, and two interactive reading reports (i.r.r.) due. the readings, quizzes, post, and i.r.r. are all things i have to do every week anyway, and they all take quite a while. the stressful part was balancing these regular assignments with the exam and the two essays i had to do. one essay was due on tuesday, the other on thursday, and the exam was on friday. i was low-key freaking out, and it was showing itself in the fact that it took me 4 times to make this week’s spread! i was so stressed trying to write out everything i had to do and i kept messing up, and eventually i gave up on trying to make it artsy and just made it simple like i have been. i just finished that spread 10 minutes ago, so yeah. 

yesterday, monday. the first thing i did monday morning was check my e-mail, and OMG the first break of the day! the tuesday essay got pushed back to saturday at 11:30 pm! i was so excited, even though i knew that meant i would procrastinate even more...i just accepted that though because i knew i had more important assignments to work on and i could focus on that essay on friday and all day saturday. then i was off to school, and in my first class of the day i had my second break--my art history exam was pushed back a week! so now i don’t have to worry about it at all this week and can start on it this upcoming sunday instead of shoving it into this busy week. however, my last class of the day threw a tiny bit of a curveball--i have an exam due sunday. BUT this exam is open book!!! so it won’t be too hard to get ready for it, i need to read the chapters and make good notes but it’s not the end of the world if i don’t get everything down. what i’ll end up doing is answering all the questions before even opening my book or notes and then going back and checking honestly! that way i’m not cheating lol. i really do want to learn! 

today, tuesday. today has been alright! i had an early class and went to that and learned that my regularly scheduled quiz was cancelled so we could focus on our essays! so that’s one less thing i could knock off my to-do list! yay. now i’m camped out in the library because i have a 3-hour break between that class and my last class of the day. i finished my assignment that’s due today and it was HORRENDOUS because the first chapter was on Chicago citation style and ??? i’ve only ever done MLA and it was just so much info! and then the second chapter was all about spelling and ??? that was just exhausting because we have to interact with each chapter and it was so hard when i’m familiar with everything since i’ve always been strong in spelling ? ugh it was just boring. then i FINALLY finished my spread for this week, and now i’m patiently waiting for the campus deli to clear out so i can go heat up my instant noodles in peace.....i really need to do my ethics readings today as well as make the outline for my paper due thursday! I've been really torn between Pascal thinking "You're so dead" and actually being relieved -- because who knows what could have happened? I've kinda stuck to the idea that Pascal REALLY wants to see killing Conan through though.(edited)

QUESTION 2. In the most recent updates, it’s revealed that Din may have purposely let the assassin, Pascal, get away. It also opens up an important question: can Din be trusted? i went into aerie looking for a specific bra yesterday. i havent gone in there in years because they dont usually make my size and i don’t really love the atmosphere of employees up my ass fakely trying to sell me shit, but yesterday was the complete opposite and i’m a little sad about it. and also insulted. 

i walked in and i wasn’t greeted. i didn’t even see an employee on the floor or behind the register. that was actually nice, not being hit with their 900 promotions that they’ve memorized to tell customers. i find the bra withing 30 seconds and im shuffling through sizes, trying to reach up onto my tippy toes to try and see the tags to find my size. at that point i’ve finally discovered a single employee who is out on the floor folding things and conversing with a customer or perhaps a friend. i turn around several times while climbing and reaching hoping MAYBE just maybe this girl will see me struggling to reach or another employee is somewhere nearby. the conversation between the employee and shopper was so deep i felt like a burden to interrupt so i grab a size closest to mine anticipating that once i get a fitting room they’ll do that aerie thing where they tell you if you need anything to read the little doorbell in the dressing room. i walk up to the dressing room line and stand there. i peek into the room expecting perhaps another employee is in there folding clothes and unlocking rooms for other customers. nope. i turn and look at the employee talking away. mind you i’ve found out her mother pays for her rent and her laundry to be done. she’s worked at aerie for about two years now. she doesn’t like working at american eagle because its harder. they let her do “whatever the fuck she wants” because shes been there so long. she loves to fit girls for bras even thought sometimes it’s weird. she has a house maid. her mom pays for her car. she only has this job so she has a little extra spending money if her mom says she has enough clothes and shoes. at least four minutes pass and im standing there TRYING MY FUCKING HARDEST to say “excuse me”, like there’s sounds coming out of my mouth and i get out an entire ‘excus---” and i cant figure out if she doesn’t hear me or shes blatantly ignoring me. by this time my roommate has come in and out of the store twice to ask me how the bra fit. yet i haven’t even gotten a dressing room nor do i have the size i was looking for.  a solid five minutes have passed. out loud that sounds like nothing, but five minutes is a long time in a store with 2 other customers inside of it. the girl looks up “oh, did you need a fitting room?” “yes please”. she fucking turns to the customer she’s been chatting it up with and goes “sorry, excuuuuse me. she needs a fitting room.” and fucking ROLLS HER EYES. Like I’m ruining her motherfucking day. I said I was wondering if they had the larger sizes in the dressing room to try on and then I could order them online at the register. she said yes, asked what size and was like “here” and just handed me a random bra.... didnt ask which one i wanted. i said “ do you have this bra to try on?” as i handed her the bra i had been looking for. she was like “yes, we have one of everything back here.” she fishes around in the drawer and says “actually no” we don’t make that size. i said “ i was just online and they have the size, is it something thats just online and i’ll have to take a chance ordering it?” she fucking glares at me and goes “no, we don’t make that size”. i went to pull out my phone and shes like lets just get you a room. LOL WHAT THE FUCK. as shes putting me in a room shes like “you could try this bra with a little pushup although, triple D’s, I doubt you really want that”. Again. WHAT THE FUCK. Hahahaha. So I’m in the dressing room that she let me in. She never gave me a schpiel about if you need help just ask or ring the bell. I tried on the bra I wanted but in a different size. It probably would have fit really nice if it was a cup size bigger. I stood in there on my phone double checking that they did indeed carry my size in that style bra. They do. AND THEN I HEAR HER SAY “ I just feel so bad for girls that have to order their bra online because we don’t have such big sizes”. Outside in the store. I assume she was still gossiping with the customer she’s been distracted by for the last 20 minutes. I came out, put the bra back and fished around one last time for my size. No luck. So my roommate and I left the store. The girl never asked how the bra fit or told me to leave my unwanted items somewhere or ask if she could help me with anything else. When we left my roommate asked if I heard what the girl said while I was in the fitting room. “Ya, oh well” I brushed it off like it didn’t matter because this girl was actually slightly moronic in my opinion. But it did hurt. Aerie doesnt guarantee their bras will fit everyone. And so what. It’s impossible to accommodate every single shape size and comfort needs. I’m just disappointed that Aerie has this whole big thing about not editing their photos and using models that arent your standard 8 ft. tall and 110 lbs. and yet this this girl that really had the audacitiy to say that about a customer/ group of customers to another customer. i’d like to give her the benefit of the doubt for this experience and remind anyone... be gentle. watch what you say and who you say it to, especially in a professional setting. save it for your free apartment with your housemaid. it’s inappropriate whether you realized it was mean or not.

Good Morning!

Two Apps I Suggest!

Hey guys I wanted to show you guys two apps I use on a daily basis for self care. Im super bad at remembering to do simple things, even more so while im at work so these help me a lot and I thought they might help you too!

Keep in mind I use android, im unsure if they are on all platforms

1)Water Reminder-Water Tracker & Drink Water Healthy

Yeesh long name but it says it all! This app helps you track your water intake throughout the day and you can set reminders to be sure you dont forget!

You set it up by putting in your gender and weight and how active you are (sadly there isnt a non binary option but maybe a future update?) As well as when you get up in the morning normally and when you go to bed.

The time you put in to go to bed it will send you an alert that it has white noise music ready for you to listen to so you can get ready to sleep, but ive noticed they all seem to not loop correctly so instead I use the second app ill talk about in a moment.

This app also leaves a constant notification on your phone and you can add in water from it. But there is a way to turn it off!

Overall id give it probably about a 8/10? I really enjoy the water aspect but theres updates that could be made to the music part, but its a great app!

2)Tide

This is an app I use in place of the music in the first app. Usually I go to bed earlier than everyone else in my house due to my job and since my rooms on the bottom floor I hear every step of my family and our fuzzy friends (5 dogs!) Ill usually sleep with headphones on at night so I dont hear anything, or just have it playing without headphones

You have a choice between a sleep timer (you can customize the time) or a nap timer, (it has set ones for 15, 30 and 60 minutes, but you can customize it too)

Theres a few diffrent sound option to choose from, some you have to pay for but you get Storm (My favorite), Night, Stream, Muse, Supper, Her City, and Journey for free. The paid ones are Stove Fire (.99 cents), Spring Rain (1.99), Ocean (.99 cents), Flight (1.99) and Train (.99 cents).

At some point during the night it turns the sound off but the alarm it sets with what time you wake up stays.

It also has a whole meditation/focus area of the app I havent even looked at yet, but if its as good as the rest of the app itll be great.

Also on the home page it has super nice quotes each day. For example today it says "Look at the stars. Look how they shine for you. -Rock Band, Coldplay"

It also has a lovely aestetic to it, its very simple but colorful and cute.

This overall gets a solid 9/10, I love the set up and choices, a few mre would be nice buts great as is. Since I havent used the meditation/focus area of it k, not including that but maybe ill update this with a review for that part.

In other news we almost reached 2,000! Thats crazy! Again im sorry I havent been as active but thank you so much for staying! David Bowie: Heathen

Good morning everyone! it’s been a little while since i’ve done a David Bowie review and today i shall tackle one of his more odds and ends albums. It’s been roughly a year since his passing and this album is also on its 15th anniversary since it’s release. There hasn’t been too many decade anniversary works this year; so i’m going to adjust my list for five year intervals so that i have more work to focus on. I haven’t listened to much of this album but from what i remember; it focuses on a more classical style than his preceding electronic pop era in the 90′s. Let’s start this year of reviews off and see how it does.

Sunday: We begin with a futuristic key tone and background keys that give off a holy organ style of tone. It’s religious atmosphere is an interesting approach for Bowie’s deep and soothing tone. He doesn’t demand much attention but does do a fair job of creating an interesting atmosphere for the listener to ease into. The electronic drum beats do serve to liven it up a hair and add some extra substance for the listener to absorb before backing chants enter. It further adds to the song title’s reference and actually wouldn’t be a bad piece to play on movie credits or be covered in an accapala format. It is a decent piece to start off in the sense that it isn’t painful to sit through and its refreshing tone will do well to put the listener in relaxed mindset. Definitely not an album to play if you are in a headbanging mood. It also reminds me of the video game soundtracks for 90′s Sega games with the Streets of Rage series being a reference point. 7.5/10

Cactus (Black Francis/Pixies cover): This is the first of three covers on this album. I believe he was on a bit of Pixies fix during the writing of this album since that band covered the Neil Young song that will be featured later on in this album. If you’ve ever heard of his Pin Ups cover album from the mid 70′s; the later two covers were originally going to be on a follow up cover album titled Pin Ups 2 that never got recorded. A catchy acoustic guitar starts it off on a drastic departure from the prior religious themed opener. Bowie begins it with a very catchy tone full of swagger and the bass/drum rhythm give hims ample support to create a low echo approach in his tone. The keys give it a nice psychedelic approach and would make it an easy song to identify mistakenly as a Bowie original. The lyrics progress smoothly for him and the angsty guitar solo changes it up well enough to be appreciated by the listener with ease. The drums do succeed in giving it a groovy rhythm to dance to; so overall this piece proves to be a decent choice for him to cover. That was a pretty quick listen and hopefully gives the listener some motivation to check out the Pixies and see how their own version is before venturing onto their other work. I havent listened to them but do note them as a crucial influence for the post grunge band Bush (Glycerine, Machine Head, Comedown). 8.5/10

Slip Away: This one begins with a soothing key tone similar to the first track but with a chime effect as opposed to a holistic organ one. You do sense some electronic loops hidden faintly in the background while guitar effects softly tone tone them out at times. The keys get a bit more tense in the background while Bowie enters with a low and harmonious vocal tone. The drums and bass enter to provide him with a soft yet catchy foundation and his lyrics serve to give it a strong level of melody and substance. It is easy at times to ignore the lyrics but Bowie really pours his emotion into this song; especially during the chorus. His high notes aren’t demanding and contain a relaxed approach; but he still manages to make a dramatic show with them. The instrumentals will continue to be another good show of support for him and would make this mellow tune a decent piece to play during one of his late night concerts. I actually didnt even notice it as a  six minute tune; so thats gotta say something about the general flow of this song and album in general. By now; you should note that this album is very softly driven and is destined for a calm night time listen. I can also see it being an album that will very likely not be initially liked by younger audiences in comparison to his highlight era; but  it is shaping up to be a stronger offering than i expected it to be. Definitely a complex piece for an eclectic listener. 8.5/10

Slow Burn: Now this is the first single on the album and is a pleasant note that Bowie didn't put it as the first track in the album. Gives you at least a couple songs to see how the album’s base sound is before he gives you his more radio focused work. It is very likely my favorite song on this album and begins with a soft guitar melody, a rumbling bass note and a smooth drum patter. The solo riffs in the beginning will do well to relax the listener further before Bowie begins singing. His vocals are very easygoing and progress with a solid flow. He makes effective use of his melodic high notes without even appearing to be putting in much effort. It shows off a clear show of confidence in his delivery which is expected as such given his 30+ years in the business at this point. The lyrics are very strong and will be a good focal point for the listener; while the guitars continue to draw out the song with interesting guitar melodies. It will be a good live piece to see and is a smart choice for a single. It has a music video that i havent seen yet; but it’s surely worth a view. 10/10

Afraid: This one begins with a more energetic and continuously cheerful guitar melody before the groovy bass rhythm kicks in. Bowie gives the song a more despairing tone with his lyrics and the strings do well to give what could be jokingly described as his lazy style delivery a good push. The classical touch is a rather energetic approach which will do wonders in keeping the listener entertained. The keys are a bit more subtle and serve a more transition like role as opposed to anything major in the song. I will note that despite how decent the song is; you can sense some signs of force in his delivery that is different from the previous songs. I think lazy is probably the best way to describe his tone but surely going by the lyrics and title it is meant to portray him as being a tired and broken individual as a whole. In that sense it gives his style a nice purpose and while i view it as weaker; its certainly not filler. 7/10

I’ve Been Waiting for You (Neil Young cover): This cover tune begins with a more rough guitar rhythm than expected. I dont really know Neil Young’s work so i will just assume that it is his style. I know he was prominent in the 70′s so i’m expecting some sort of blues focused rock in this era for him at least. It has a lively tone that refrains from being overbearing though Bowie is smothered in the beginning at first. Bowie recites the lyrics with a nice show of reservation and the bass rhythm provides decent support but not quite enough to entertain. The guitar riffs do lift it a bit before the rhythm segment returns to battle it. The solo wins out with a soothing melody and a groovy bass rhythm. Bowie manages to liven it up pretty well and show himself to be the real winner in this battle of musical prominence. It’s another one that u’m not prominently big on but do note its appeal to some audiences and its potential to maybe garner some younger focus on Neil Young himself. 7/10

I Would Be Your Slave: A soft but energetic drum beat begins before electronic loops and soothing keys join in. It is actually pretty cheerful and relaxing which will fit in with the earlier songs on the album. Bowie uses his reserved style and places emphasis on his lyrics and the general atmosphere of the song. The keys prove to be the dominant factor in deciding this song’s energy level and as a result it has a very “slow burn” lol in his progression. Bowie has a nice echo delivery in the middle segment that infuses some decent tension into the song and follows through with a  good degree of balanced power and determination. It actually makes this piece more enjoyable as a whole and will do a fair job keeping the listener engaged regardless of how long of a listen it feels. I do acknowledge that this one would of been better labelled as “Slow Burn” due to its progression style. At the very least it would of been tongue in cheek. 7.5/10

Seeing as this is a song from the late 60′s i doubt it was as futuristic in style. Bowie does do a very good job of giving it that space like vibe with his use of clever brass, tense keys, subtle strings, and prominent guitar effects. This is definitely one of those songs that you appreciate for its ability to create an atmosphere that is perfectly reflective of its title. 7.5/10

Everyone Says Hi: This is the final single of the album and begins with a good level of guitar effects and it develops a very soothing level of melody. The keys are emotional in tone and the electronic supports are perfect for their desired role. Bowie has a more psychedelic inspired delivery that reminds me of Space Oddity and his first three albums. It isn’t heavily reminiscent but it will be a very pleasant tune for fans of that era especially. The lyrics are solid and the instrumentals provide Bowie with a significant degree of skillful support so that he can focus on delivering a stellar vocal performance. The backing vocal harmonies are rather nice addition towards the end that helps it to transition with enough diversity as to end smoothly without feeling repetitive. 9/10

A Better Future: This one begins with an eerie guitar effect in the background while the drums develop a catchy rhythm. The bass and keys combine to give it that cheerful 80′s pop tone that will do a decent job of attracting that era of his fanbase but with his electronic vocal style from the 90′s. The lyrics are low but give the song a nice flow for the listener to space out around. He develops a nice degree of energy towards the end but other than that turns this easygoing song into an ideal piece for winding down the album before the finale piece surfaces. 7.5/10

Heathen (The Rays): This conclusive track opens up with very feint key notes and grows gradually deeper once a constant drum beat joins. It sounds very reminiscent of his ambient era (Low, Heroes, Lodger). The organs/keys make that comparison very easy until the drums and brass enter to liven it up a bit more.It does a pretty good job of elevating the album’s final impression the listener’s mind. Bowie’s voice is pretty smooth and his lyrics make it very easy to relax and space out around them as they progress. It is very soothing and surely gives off elements of complexity and drama as it concludes. 8/10

Well, this was a pretty interesting album to do today. It is very mellow and soft as would be expected from an accomplished musician in his mid 50′s at the time. I’d say give it a listen during one of your more mellow moods and see how it impacts you. It’s obviously not a highlight album for him but it’ll be a pleasant companion piece for a fan to pull out when he is in a mood for something different from Bowie’s renowned work. I was originally expecting his follow up “Reality” album or Young Americans to be reviewed before this but being its 15th anniversary i figured i might as well scratch is off the list. He has two other anniversary works that i can do this year (Ziggy stardust at 45 yrs and Never Let Me Down at 30). Im so shitty. I dont even know why im writing this. Honestly I see other people post and I wonder if this actually helps. I'm at a point where If there's even a chance it could help, I should try it. Im 29, skinny black guy. I literally weigh about 130 lbs. Live with a roommate and brother. Other brother moving here in bout a week. Im older than all of them. Somehow I've got to this point in my life dropping out of every school endeavor i ever embarked on. Dropped out of High School, got my GED got into college then dropped out of that. Was too busy smoking weed, playing fighting games...just being a fool. Never been in a serious relationship at any point in my life. My love-life is non-existent. My only working background is in grocery stores and call center. I legitimately want to just stop everything. If I have to take calls for another few months that really might be it for me. I'm at the complete end of my lane. Im not here to discuss where my thoughts have gone, but I know for certain I cant keep doing this type of work for the rest of my life...I don't think I'll last to the middle of 2019 before I quit and look for another job. Speaking of that, my last 5 years of work history is just me bouncing between jobs. I got a job at software company doing customer support, but i threw that away too. They wanted to send me to Ireland, a real chance to start over and for some reason i threw it away. So since im literally at the end of my fucking rope, I've been trying to rewrite my life as hard as possible. Dedicating literally every minute of every day to improvement. Literally every --single---minute of every ---single--- day. As i write this now im at work, im doing quite a few things inbetween calls, and decided to visit this reddit because I made this account and subscribed to it a few weeks ago.

I probably sound like an idiot going into detail on this, but as embarrassing as it is I will. I made a plan for myself for the next 5 years. The plan includes my goals and ways to achieve them day by day. It also includes checkpoints every so often for me to check In and make sure im actually focusing on my goals. I need these checkpoints because in the past when I tried to do things like this I would lose focus eventually and fall into loads of weed use and alcohol abuse. My goals are listed below in no particular order:

Improve my overall Health - this multi-part goal. It includes both physical and mental health. I weigh 130 lbs pretty much on the dot. I'm not sure what my ideal weight would be (I don't know how I'd look at lets say 170 lbs for me to call that my ideal weight), but the first milestone is 150lbs. I want to hit this in 6 months, or atleast check in at that time. In terms of how I plan to do that, I've detailed a complete workout regime for me. Of course, I could go into detail on that, but the most important step, more important than working out is just eating more. The hardest part of course is always sticking to the regime, but atleast i've wrote down what I need to do. I don't know why but for some reason I just have trouble getting myself to eat. Even when i'm hungry, i'll smoke or go for a walk or go to sleep or just game - I'll do anything but eat. As of today, I'm changing that. For my mental health, I plan to read recreationally more especially when on public transit which Im on for about 2 hours a day. Why reading? I need to stay away from my phone. I spend so much time on discord, losing myself in non-stop content online through youtube or twitch or whatever. I need to get back in touch with me, and not be scared to be in my own thoughts. As a kid i use to read a lot, I was a creative kid. I think somewhere in the weed use I lost that, I want it back. After doing some research I've also started journalling. I Journal twice a day, once in the morning once at night. I try to spend 30 minutes a day total (15 minutes per night/day) writing down my thoughts from the previous day and goals for that day in the morning, and what I actually accomplished and thoughts for the day that night. After reading what I've wrote for just a few days, turns out I'm actually a very bitter person. Maybe not bitter, but definitely angry and intense. I'm also trying to meditate, but Im not really good at this. What I do is just sit down in my room, light a candle, make some tea, close my eyes and think for 10 or so minutes. Any thought that comes in I try to analyze where it came from and if it's a negative thought or stemming from a negative. Im not good at this yet honestly. Its important to know these things aren't something I want to add in only for a limited time. I think I need to do this for the rest of my life, otherwise I spiral fast. My mom has suggested therapy but, I completely refuse. If I can't fix myself I won't get fixed. I'm not scared to ask for help, but therapy is out of the question until I've done absolutely everything I can to fix myself.

Develop a Skill. Particularly I want to program. I've taught myself abit of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Honestly I'm a complete beginner, but I've dabbled abit. I've made steps to already begin teaching myself in my routine. I've been using codeacademy pro for about a month now and I'm working on deploying my own site (my first project will just be my resume on a responsive one page site, got the idea from a friend). This comes from, I have to develop some type of skill in order to move out of Customer Service. I don't know what else to even do, though IT support comes to mind but I don't want to support anymore I want to create and develop. I'm not trying to avoid work, I just want to avoid working with the general public, and I want to avoid my job being to educate others or fix mistakes they've made. Even though I think that still happens in development, I atleast want a career that pushes me mentally and forces me to improve my skillset in order to stay relevant. Most importantly, I want a job I can be proud of. A job that I myself can be proud of. Even though Customer Service/Call Centers are important for alot of companies, I cannot stand this line of work. It is so mind numbingly tedious and repetitive, and I feel like I am wasting my life and my potential handling these minor inquiries when I know I can use my mind to accomplish and work on something much greater. I don't care how arrogant or fucked up it sounds. It's not that I think i'm better than anyone, I just KNOW that i can achieve more than this. I know that im here because of how shitty of a human i've been. I'm tired of it, I have to change it.

Learn another language. The only other language I've had real interest in is Japanese. Honestly I've been at odds even with myself on this for a long time. Is it bad that I enjoy that type of culture? I'm not trying to be a "weeb" or just say it to sound cool. I've spent time learning to recognize some hiragana/katakana just on my own in the past. I don't think it's a perfect culture or anything, but its the only one that legitimate has always interested me for as long as I can remember. So i've decided to pursue it and fuck it, if I look stupid or like a weeb or whatever I guess I just have to accept that. Again I have my own routine I've detailed for myself for learning, and I have a few people I can actually practice with. I somehow got a friend of mine a job in Japan as a english teacher...but I havent done anything myself to move toward that and I know god damn well I could.

I want to become better at interacting with people. Last few months I've lost myself in just complete self indulgence. I won't go super into detail, but I think we all know what this means. Drug use, alcohol use, long nights on the internet avoiding sleep exploring the most degenerate shit man. The worst is after nights like that you can't look people in the eye, or have normal conversations. It just eats at you knowing youre not only wasting time but spending it on something so shitty and useless. Putting time off with family/friends to stay at home and waste time, I won't do shit like this anymore. When you fall into a rut like this, or whatever it is, all your relationships around you start to crumble. Then I wonder why I havent been in a relationship, lol. Well im done and hopefully by writing this It gives me strength to not fall back into that dark place and keep me on the right path. I will show I can support my family and I can receive their support as well. It will take time to repair these relationships, but If i dont start now I feel like they really will crumble forever.

This is basically my current mental state. I don't know if this even fits this subreddit but I hope it does and if not feel free to inform me. The purpose of this is to show that, I am on the path to self improvement, its all I care about right now. Being better than I've been in the past month. Better than I was yesterday, because if I dont change my life now I'm legitimately scared what I will do or where I will be 5 years from now. If you actually read all this, thanks.
