So you know that post about me being scared about sharing my work if it isn't the popular opinion or anything generally commonly appealing? Yeah so as I was typing out the tags my brain threw a core memory at my face and went "you absolutely know why"
Anywau basically like, i was an undertale fan during the undertale renissance (is that how you spell it?) And i was fucking OBSESSED over glitchtale (until early season 2 + before camila was outed to be a shitbag) and thought glithtale was very very cool
Ankther thing is that i was a chronic deviantart scroller at the tjme (also on google images) and i love lovr loooooved looking at people's art
So i was like "hey i could do that too!" And started making fanart for glitchtale, specifically that final battle part where they're in The Orb™ in s1
I was doing it in school because at this point everyone was basically just hanging out (my elementary's system was 1st grade to 6th grade (i was... 5th grade iirc) And also had this weird systen where the younger half of elementary would go home 2 hours earlier than the older half (1pm), idk why) and like, because there was literally just 4 people here because small school, i showed my wip to the other 3 people present in the area

The thing that primarily stuck with me was how they teased about frisk's posing and the overall edginess of the piece, but mostly how frisk looked stypid (which, 1. Y'all play fnaf and brag that you're cool though kids you don't have room to talk; 2. It was The Orb™ fight,,, of course it was gonna be edgy,,,,)
It's somewhere in a landfill now, i threw it in the trash and never fished it out... probably decomposed by now, it's been 8 years (holy shit it's been 8 years)
I... think they apologized? Idk i just know they had a "wait shit no-" moment when i threw it in the trash but i was already mad about it so, yeag
Like... i like to say that it doesn't affect me that badly anymore but i'm pretty sure it still is? I literally can't look at my art anymore without thinking of how bad it looks compared to everyone else's and i also am physically unable to Not agree with others (i literally forced myself to hate homura akemi pmmm because a friend didn't see the nuance in her character and just relegated her to "bitch" lmao) and Good Lird i have crippling perfectionism because if 1 person hates it then everyone does right??? Lmao
Deadass nowadays i just can't bring myself to make or share any ideas or pick up anything creative because i HAVE to get it perfect in 1 go otherwise i'll be ridiculed for it; I'm Trying to outgrow these problems but it's jist So Dicking Hard akfjshdjdhr and it seriously doesn't help tjat there was a seperare (smaller) incident where i found one of my drawings crumpled on the floor by someone

so overlord finished, which means new campaign time! it's finally, FINALLY time for my undead cowboy to shine!!! everyone, i'd like to introduce you to silas kelly, a character that started as a joke that i got unreasonably attached to. he's inspired by the song "hell's coming with me" by poor man's poison, and when i introduced the concept to my friends one of them (the dm for this campaign) liked the concept so much that he spawned an entire homebrew world, story, and campaign around him.
i've never been more flattered, honestly. it had to be reworked a teeny bit to be a multiplayer rather than solo campaign, but it worked out! now my amnesiac bastard has friend! just one right now, hopefully that changes.
not pictured: his trusty revolver, aka his main weapon of choice, holstered under his coat. because of course a western-themed campaign has guns who do you take us for. aiden was even nice enough to let me use divine smite (usually a melee-only feat) with it, so long as i agreed to give up one of my oath feats at level 3. not a hard choice at all, considering there's no reason to use abjure enemy when i have a gun.

Constantly thinking about a conversation me and a buddy had about how people in the modern era always end up making or Headcanoning villains as homophobic or just general bigots...
#No bc I think it’s a very interesting phenomenon#our conversation came down to how people are honestly unable to comprehend a person is horrible unless they’re a bigot#the example we were talking about is how so many ppl headcanon William Afton furnaff was homophobic to make him like. worse#when like. he’s already a kiddy murderer. I don’t think he can get any worse than that? he kills kids and is an abusive father#no need for him to also be a bigot but yet it’s a popular headcanon#and my pal said it’s bc a lot of ppl are unable to comprehend villains who are complex and have complex opinions/world views#and tbh YEAH!!! I think it’s really common for us to see villains or just people we don’t like as. unable to be like us#if a person sucks then we cannot have anything in common with them. when that isn’t the case#not everyone person who’s a piece of shit is a bigot. it’s common sure but not every villain is gonna be openly racist or transphobic#if anything a villain who has the same world views as the heroes/protags/audience makes them more complex!!#because it can show that anyone who is considered ‘a good person’ can actually be a pos despite their views or show how a person can fall to#-the dark side lol#and yeah obviously in certain cases a villain being a bigot makes sense and works story wise#I know I have quite a few antagonists who are bigots#but it’s a super common pitfall to just assign an antagonist ‘oh they suck so they also hate autistic people!’ or smth instead of like#just letting their horrible actions show how they’re a horrible person#I promise if a serial killer is a serial killer then like. yeah THEYRE horrible. and if you can only see them as horrible if they’re a bigot#then uh. Ok so a lot of real world surgery training starts with cadavers, because you kinda need to start training surgeons on a "patient" who is already past the point of being totally fucked up by beginner mistakes. So, consider: All fantasy healers are trained necromancers, at least to some degree. Because the first steps in learning to be a healer involves practicing on dead bodies. No one is allowed to just jump straight into knitting together flesh and bone on a living person because sweet merciful gods, no! Do you know how wrong that can go?! You're starting on a lamb shank, before working up to a donated body, long before anyone will let your magic within a mile of an injured human being.
And depending on the kind of necromancy we're talking about, how different is it calling back a passed spirit to its former body vs. being a healer who can grab that soul and tether it in place, to stop it wandering off before they're done fixing up the meat-suit?
Sure there's a clear difference between setting a bone and reanimating a long-dead corpse, and the general public knows this...but what healers know is that it's more complicated than that. They know there's a grey area, between "healing" and "necromancy". There's a place where it's...hard to really say whether it's one or t'other. To those in the know, the big secret is that there isn't really a difference, it's all part of a continuum. Is restarting a stopped heart healing or necromancy? When you're holding onto a bucking soul, trying its best to dive from this world to the next while you repair its broken body, is that really just healing? Or is that just a very pre-emptive form of necromancy? What if you snatched that soul back just seconds after it left the body? What if it was minutes? Or an hour? Where do you draw the line?
Fantasy healing, blood magic and necromancy.
It’s been bugging me for a white that these three tropes, often placed far apart in magical ideologies, really belong together. There’s only a fine line between life and death. Why is blood always portrayed as an evil thing when it’s really a very useful thing?
It’s bugged me for a long time that healing spells in D&D 3.5 aren’t necromancy spells. Bodies are just bone and flesh and skin, it’s the same set of skills to knit broken pieces back together whether those piece are still living or already dead, it’s just the living still have some homeostasis going on.
If you are learning to heal, people or animals, anatomy training can leave you with this idea (which is not entirely false) that you can take a body apart like its made of Lego. It’s just parts and systems. Just bits.
Sometimes you look at those parts in isolation, sometimes as a whole. Working with bodies and parts, whether alive or dead, is very, very similar and in my mind it only takes a small jump from working with the living to working with the dead.
And poor blood gets such a bad reputation. Blood is great, blood is useful. Blood is key to all healing processes in the body. It carries information, it’s key to life.
Sure, too much blood outside the body can be a problem, but too much of anything can be a problem. Nobody complains about a fireball being inherently evil but blood just seems to carry a connotation with it.
I feel like these aspects are all part of the same spectrum, and only tiny steps away from each other.
Then again maybe I’m the character that turns into the well intentioned villain in the fantasy novel.

I had a dream last night where I went to some kind of magic school, despite not showing any clear signs of having any kind of magical powers.
That was until I managed to break a magically reinforced window by kicking it a few times. I just really wanted to go outside, no time for doors.
