hearing any defense of the huskerdust age gap (as if it needs one) that doesn't start and end with “Angel is, by every metric under the sun, an adult who can make his own decisions” is fucking insane to me. You do not need to pull out a timeline. No math required. He is in his thirties. Fuck, I am younger than him by a considerable amount, and if I could be bothered to get out of my pyjamas and go cruise at the local septuagenarian biker bar, all things made equal, I would be fucking fine. Me and this hypothetical grandpa trick would be equally consenting adults.
It is just a bit frustrating to see this line of argument in EITHER direction, from people who think that a ~thirty years old cannot possibly want GILF pussy or that think you need to corkboard mathletes a way around the age gap by saying “well actually they're around the same age if you [blah blah blah]”. There are things that are actually fucked up about them that we COULD be talking about instead of putting Seattle on blast with this “how could a seventy year old man ethically start a relationship with another fully grown adult, both of whom are trying to make meaningful connections in their lives, beyond their work?”
Please keep in mind, none of this is that serious. This is, at the end of the day, a very silly discourse, and this is, at the end of the day, a very silly reaction. I wish the septuagenarian biker bar thing was serious, but alas. I live in a boring area.
#Huskerdust#Angel dust#hazbin husk#Husker#sorry but it always reads as so condescending to hear people try so hard to defend it. My man is literally in his 30s#He is capable of making his own decisions he is off of his parents insurance#Husk being a few decades older than him (and I do not care about how time works in hell before you ask) is actually fine#And yes Angel has a lot to work through. Husk has a lot to work through. That’s fine. Relationships can be messy & complicated#That doesn’t make either of them any less worthy of love etc#But like for the love of god why is it that everyone loves an age gap until the older man is . Yknow. Actually old.

We need to talk about healthcare and financial crises. There are a lot of us who wholeheartedly believe that there are cures to everything but that our illness is a form of profit for our country, especially within the United States. Just like the fact that instead of having fruit and vegetables and herbs be readily available and accessible for us, we’ve got to go buy them and as inflation increases, the price tags on healthier food choices increases. In the United States, you can get fined for not having insurance, but when you do have insurance you have to pay a fee to have it, large chunks of our pay checks are eaten up and taken from us as well as tax dollars. We not only have issues in the health care system regarding racial bias and discrimination but we also have a problem with the maternal mortality rate, especially in women of color, and especially in regards to black women.
We know who is most likely to get sickle cell anemia and who is most affected by it, and we know who is going to have a hard time affording a 2.2 million cure for sickle cell anemia. We know a large quantity of individuals with chronic illnesses or life threatening illnesses that require intensive medical care and medication are people or color or minorities. We know that people of color and minorities have historically been and systematically been financially unstable, have been paid more, or have been offered the lowest standard of care and resources. Why are we creating cures and services that we know a large percentage of our population cannot afford or does not have access to? And now, we have a case where even a larger percentage of our population cannot afford healthcare and services due to the economic state of our country.
We’re continuing to have children, especially as women, when we need to advocate for better healthcare and support. Women worldwide need to start setting better requirements for when they’re going to have children and how. As someone whose been interested in midwifery for years and has been reading up on midwifery and birthing practices and what is absolutely necessary and essential in order to give a woman a chance at having a smooth, healthy, and safe pregnancy. Vast majority of women who are having children don’t realize that today’s practices for birthing children or preparing you for labor and delivery are less than the bare minimum. Women need access to good food and need to be able to eat well and have a nutritionally balanced diet, women need to be able to participate in physical activity and exercise throughout their pregnancy (yoga, Pilates, walking, etc.) and especially with trained professionals and staff who are educated on what type of physical exercise would best benefit a woman throughout her pregnancy and what will ultimately help her out when it’s time to deliver, they need access to good environments and practices that are created to benefit them and make their experiences easier, safer, and more comfortable. And they absolutely do not need to be required to pay an arm and a leg in hospital fees to have a child in the United States.
We need better health care that better accommodates women in the process of conceiving, women going through their pregnancy, women who are laboring and delivering, and women who are still alive during post partum healing. All these things should be requirements. All of these things should be covered by insurance. The issue is so large that women are having to travel outside of the United States to give birth to their babies and come back so that they could have better care and a better recovery and overall survival rate. It’s expensive to hire a midwife, let alone a dula for spiritual guidance and support. All women should have access to midwives and dulas and there needs to be more women in the birthing industry. We know that traditional midwifery practices and practices that were created to better aid women and were more effective and atomically accurate have been let go of or replaced.
Children are expensive, motherhood is expensive, and at this current moment we have mothers who are going through their pregnancies and post partum without proper resources and care and we have children coming into this world constantly and repeatedly to environments, parents, circumstances, etc. that aren’t financially, emotionally, or physically fit or stable to give them good lives. We need to stop having children at such a rate whilst we shift our focus to advocating for better health care and support for our women. Having a child is a privilege, some people may not agree, but just because we love them does not mean that we should all be having them because at this time we do not have the proper resources to bring them into this world correctly or provide for them.
There’s a lot going on here and a lot we need to advocate for. And those who are chronically ill or have been intense physical ailments and pregnant women who are giving birth to babies are just the tip of the iceberg. This isn’t even including the chronically mentally ill or those with developmental disabilities whose families have to pay thousands of dollars just to get them what they need. Since we’re changing the world and there is a shift happening, it’s time we start having the right conversations at the right time. There’s no time to change the world like today.

I have to actually look at cars and test them and buy one all over again
#feeling like i might not even try arguing over the price bc i do have the gap insurance that i. got on a whim#and didn't expect to actually use 😬 i just wanna have a vehicle again by the end of the month#no payments higher than what the previous car was#I'm just. not feeling like drawing out the process is super helpful rn and even if the deductible gets slapped on the gap#2500 is a lot more reasonable than the 7k it was initially gonna be#will still be annoying! but a lot easier to manage; i only have a few more days with the car#and need to like. get groceries and pet supplies bc I'm not paying for ubers. that's obnoxious#can still get to certain places by using the bus bc that's also cheaper but it's. also obnoxious bc our public transport sucks#1 bus per hour babyyyyyyy i NEED to get this settled. god.#shai speaks

love when you meet with a doctor and she’s an hour late to the virtual appointment and you tell her you really need this paperwork filled at asap and during the appointment she’s apologetic and understanding and very forceful about the fact that you need expedited care and that it’s ridiculous that you’ve been expected to wait so long so you get hopeful that things will finally get done and then she doesn’t send out the paperwork and fucks off to go on vacation and nobody on her staff can find it or even knows if she actually filled it out and they tell you she’s coming back the day that paperwork is due
#and then the other person handling your case either doesn’t return your calls#or calls your mother for some fucking reason even though you have given him your number about five times and you are an adult#finally talked to SOMEONE and they said they can retroactively give me benefits which thabk god#because i was terrified my benefits would end the day before a surgery just because my doctor couldn’t get her shit together#I’m still worried it’ll result in gaps of when I get paid since I already had that issue#but at least my insurance won’t be defunct the day of surgery

state of Maine is really asking me to fill out freelance forms when I make less than $10 a month & therefore according to them do not actually even qualify as a freelance worker, let alone somebody who should be filing taxes, in order to make sure my food stamps are renewed
#this is sooo stupid. the lady helping me was very understanding & basically like 'sorry i'm asking you to do this stupid thing.'#but wow! okay!#she also helped me correct my health insurance forms & took notes of all the assistance programs i'm already on to cover living expenses#& basically was like 'this is to make sure you don't have a gap in your food stamps when you go to do groceries in a couple weeks'#so i REALLY appreciate her help. this is just such a ridiculous & confusing system#ugh. i am so tired & hungry i need to eat a snack while i make dinner#dial p for post#at LEAST my health insurance coverage is all set & won't be interrupted! even with the mistake i made that went seamlessly. good job to me!

I genuinely can’t believe that I’ve gotten to a point in my life where in my last therapy session my therapist said: “yeah well grades aren’t the main stressor anymore”
I’ve healed so much. Therapy really does do wonders huh
#i started doing therapy because I was having daily panic attacks over my grades and school#school is still a stressor for me and as we’re entering finals season it is definitely at the top of my mind#but it is not nearly as bad as it once was#taking a gap year and having therapy taught me that my self worth isn’t wrapped in my grades#i as a human being have more worth than a piece of paper#i still have other stuff going on hence I’m still in therapy#I’m genuinely so proud of myself and grateful for my therapist#and for my parents who made me go to therapy and paid for it for so many years (and to insurance godbless)#like if my parents hadn’t caught onto how bad it was I don’t know if I would be here right now#also going to a school that isn’t full of academic people like going to a liberal arts school was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made#for both social culture but also because god is my brain so much more relaxed and open#now that’s not to say that school won’t become a main stressor again but I also having more coping mechanisms now#i am just so proud of myself and so happy that I’ve healed a little bit#sorry if this is rambling or too self serving I just needed to have a little appreciation for this

no new geometries in my dream last night but it was instead a nightmare about failing to have prepared for my (actually real) trip to columbus tomorrow, failing to get a rental and having to plead my way out of my aunt's house with help from a friend during a snowstorm (?) and then after some really dramatic escapes i leave the friend behind like ok i can still be only like 30m late and then i got stuck in this tunnel that was like a subway tunnel with no trains and more dimly lit. i realized i had left my personal phone in my backpack which i'd left in my friend's car, and for some reason once in the Waiting Tunnel you could not leave. at the far end, it had a mailbox system and i opened doors of the little lockers hoping to find my bag; someone was pulling an entire baby out of one, to my dream-self's consternation. i never did catch my ride :(
#peter posts#i hate rentals i hope my company carries gap insurance because i guarantee#my personal policy will not cover the full value of whatever car i get stuck with. UGH#i woke up seriously thinking i'd overslept but . i dont leave until tomorrow

needed a refill on the cetirizine prescription I've been on for 3 years now and the doc's nurse had the audacity to prescribe a single month's supply (I usually get 3 or 6 month supplies) and say "make sure to come in for your next appointment"
like???? I'm not???? allowed to take my medication if I don't come in for an appointment????? the medication that is available in every pharmacy, and is one of the most commonly stolen drugs bc of its prohibitive cost and wide availability????? i am doing the medical system a FAVOR by getting these drugs the "correct" way and they wanna act like they can take away my right to this nessecary medication???? the fucking AUDACITY on these bitches.
also!!!!!! I had to beat the office up to get this appointment!!!!!! IT'S NOT A NESSECARILY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT CHECK IN, IT'S BECAUSE I'VE DEVELOPED BED-RIDDING JOINT PAIN, DAILY RASHES, AND EXCESSIVE FORGETFULNESS. WHICH THE DOCTOR DID NOT INITIALLY TAKE SERIOUSLY. AND HAS NEGLECTED TO DO *ANYTHING* FOR ME IN THE T W O M O N T H WAIT TIME TO GET INTO THIS FUCKINGGG APPOINTMENT.
for the past THREE YEARS this prescription has been automatically refilled by the office every 3-6 months. what the FUCK changed.
#chronic illness#text#its a miracle i havent bashed my head through a hole in the doctor's office drywall at this point.#the restraint needed to navigate the medical system if fucking humiliating.#is. ugh whatever.#yeah and OF COURSE im going to come in for the appt!!! thats not a question!!! so i'll get my med refill!!! but what about the next guy#who ISNT going to be able to keep that appointment and then has to deal w a gap in their meds??????????? for something far more serious!!!#angiodema and hives won't kill me#probably#but like... other people have more sensitive problems!!!!!!!!#btw this medication is $150 at the pharmacy my insurance uses#so i had to get it transfered to a cheaper pharmacy#and then used a goodrx cupon to get it down to $5#so like. my insurance isnt even covering the fucking medication cost. it doesnt FUCKING matter how long the prescription takes to process#through the system bc it just bypasses that entirely#goes straight to the pharmacy#they filled it in less than an hour.#i hate this fucking system.
