Peter Wade at Rolling Stone:
At the beginning of his first rally on Sunday, Donald Trump said, “I love being off these stupid teleprompters because the truth comes out.” That statement was an omen of what was to come when the former president said he wouldn’t “mind” if a would-be assassin had to “shoot through” members of the media in an attempt to kill him. “I have a piece of glass over here,” Trump said during a rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania, pointing to his far right. Since the assassination attempt against Trump in July, both he and Vice President Kamala Harris have spoken behind panels of bulletproof glass as a safety measure.
“And I don’t have a piece of glass there,” Trump added, pointing between the panes of glass. “I have this piece of glass here,” Trump continued, pointing forward. “But all we really have over here is the fake news, right?” The crowd laughed. “And, to get me, somebody would have to shoot through the fake news, and I don’t mind that so much. I don’t mind. I don’t mind that,” he said.
This man is inciting his red-hat cultists to shoot media members with his dangerous mouth.

I gotta say they made a great plot point in Carmine killing the angel to protect her daughters. It makes it so the angels have no recourse- what else is purer than a mother caring for her children?- and inspires confidence in hell's kindness over heaven's.

A lot of people critique things not for what they are, but for what they aren’t. For example, a lot of the THG criticisms usually boils down to ‘it’s not radical enough’, ‘it ended with both sides bad’, ‘it sets a bad precedent for how to fight oppression’, ‘it had a lukewarm liberal take on anti-oppression’.
The issue here is that the people with these critiques are approaching the books as if they were meant to give a step by step guide for how to lead a revolution, how to fight against oppression. The books were never meant to be discourse on anti-oppression; they were anti-war.

with the anon talking about angry ingo, i assume when ingo caught wind akari was banished. i can see all hell broke loose specially ingo charging at clan galaxy leader
In regards to this ask
I’ve thought on this scenario and I can see what you’re saying anon! A lot of people go this route, but I like to think that perhaps in that situation he’d be more concerned over Akari’s safety out in the wilderness than going and attacking Kamado — at least if he did get involved at all.
Personally the only thing I can see causing him to get like this is if he got the chance to personally confront the thing that pulled him to Hisui.
So many theories — Arceus themselves, Giratina at Volo’s command to open rifts, an Ultra Beast through an Ultra Wormhole — I think each one would bring some level of anger to it, either at the situation or the entity that did it.
He was pulled right out of his life and lost everything dear to him against his will (I’m assuming), and was just left adrift in a murky haze. And then to possibly find out whatever did it doesn’t even care or know they stripped him of everything? Maybe he’d be more angry at the situation he’s found himself in rather than the entity that caused it at that point. I don’t know, I’d have to think about it more. ^^

Okay, so….
If we could NOT call for entire peoples and nations to be WIPED OUT in this day and age that would be great.
Thanks.
Keep that shit in the dock when you’re getting done for genocide please. At the least.
Or better yet, don’t do it at all!

friends to enemies is fine but friend group to enemies holds so much more potential for comedy. everyone is chill and still gets along fine. except for Todd who defected and is now our arch nemesis. yeah like he totally just went off on his own and founded a cult. barely changed his aesthetic too and now all he talks about is the corruption in the system and how we're free to join him when we've had enough of it ourselves.

So I originally wrote this back in August when this release was fresh and then!!! APPARENTLY!!! just COMPLETELY forgot to post it!! so you get it now, three months late.

Some of the dialogue from the Guardian Tower has been living rent free in my head and now I want to yell about it because it’s SO GOOD for background lore
Okay, so, on the first floor, Mindi tells us this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really like this because it helps illustrate one of the logistical problems of the Rose. Like, even if you took away everything else that makes them bad (which, admittedly, is most of the organisation and its purpose), the fact that they tend to, by default, present themselves as the only option and drive out competition is bad. On paper, a force of people trained in combat against magical threats, with reasonably easy access to that training, which has garrisons stationed across the land, is actually a pretty good solution to the whole Recurring Evil Magical Threats thing. We know this because the guardians and the paladins and the dragonslayers exist! They do this! The Rose seems to make membership easier to access but, frankly, I suspect that is in part because their training is less thorough.
And when the Rose show up and drive those other groups out (like they’ve done with the Guardians), they don’t actually improve anything. Best case scenario, everything is exactly the way it was before. More likely, things would get worse, because the people with active experience defending a particular area have been driven away and now the Rose members have to play catch-up
(A good example of how on paper a group like the Rose could help an area is Book 3 Amityvale. The local Guardians were long gone, so the Rose were able to help without doing that extra damage and made Amityvale a safer place to live....... but that’s specifically for the human inhabitants. Plus, we know they’re affecting the magic of the area - Amaris’s moon has started having phases - and that’s! probably not good! Also see: Raven having to flee for her own safety after getting bitten by a werewolf. Even where they are ostensibly doing the most good, the Rose are still an active danger to many, even their own in the wrong circumstances)
And, meanwhile, on the ground floor...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
......further proof that the Rose actively try to drive competition out of the area. Falconreach has repeatedly made it clear that they want nothing to do with the Rose and they keep picking fights with the patrols.
#dragonfable#tags following this are unaltered from the post as it was drafted:#look it's been a little bit vague re: Are The Rose Still Blockading Falconreach's Port And/Or Is It Still Canon That They Were Doing That#but the Rose ACTIVELY PICKING FIGHTS WITH THE GUARDIANS? that's SO juicy#Falconreach is. as far as we know. the ONLY big visible safe haven for magical beings.#Ravenloss and Sulen'eska are both actively hidden#Falconreach is a refugee safe zone and the Rose are THE PRIMARY REASON MOST OF THOSE PEOPLE ARE REFUGEES#and the Rose have been trying to MOVE IN on that territory#they pick fights with patrols from Falconreach's defenders OFTEN based on that ''again''#I bet you that's not a secret#I bet you the people of Falconreach KNOW that this happens#is it any wonder that the Rose showing up after the Calamity War offering to help rebuild almost incited a riot?#that would've been setting off SO MANY warning bells in SO MANY people's heads#most of Falconreach probably didn't hear an offer for help. they heard an enemy they've been fighting off try to get in through a weak point#and I can't blame them#tags from here on added when I found the post again:#so I did post /some/ of these thoughts. including some in the tags. I just did it in many thoughts head full mode#there was a lot of 'something something' in that one. this one I put a bunch of it into words#I cannot BELIEVE I forgot to post this and it sat in my drafts for three months. ridiculous#also I miss horizontal line breaks so much.... give me formatting again tumblr.......

-Bromance of the Three Kingdoms-
what if we were fighting on opposite sides of the war. i was a pragmatist, willing to betray the whole world and you were an idealist, willing to follow your brothers to the grave. what if you showed me a side of human nature i didn't think existed. i would have given anything to make you stay but your loyalty (the thing i fell in love with) would never allow it. if you loved me more you would have stayed. if you stayed i would have loved you less...and we were both boys?
character designs from Total War bc i lowkey like Cao Cao's stupid to-go box hat (i think it's meant to be a longuan???)

Odysseus: Starts the entire Epic Musical series off by murdering a baby.
Odysseus: Taunts Polyphemus, the cyclops, as they sail away, kicking off literally the entire chain of misery that follows. Does so for no reason except to flex.
Odysseus: Betrays the trust of his crew by sacrificing six of them to a monster, without even trying another avenue (like, oh, idk, bringing six of those sirens along as the sacrifices), without getting their input, nothing. Is unable to defend the morality of this action in the slightest when confronted. ("Say something!" "I can't!")
People here, for some reason: Odysseus did nothing wrong and his crew deserved to die. They shouldn't have been mean to him :( How dare they raise their voices at the man who got them onto this mess and sees them as nothing but sacrificial animals. They should learn their place, he's their captain and their king and he can do whatever he wants forever.

I've been reading the ancient books for a long time, waiting for the moment where those battles would take place before my own eyes. Compared to back then, the current peace is so trivial and dull. Ahh, that's right. Maybe I'm just a nut who can't live without blood and fighting.
