opened tiktok (mistake number one, i know) and immediately saw someone saying that Thomas Hutter subverts the "disbelieving husband" trope which... listen i love a thoroughly pathetic mess of a man myself and i get that Ellen's other option is a 400yo evil corpse, but can we please not give him credit for things he didn't do?..

the literal inciting incident of the story is that Thomas DOESN'T listen to Ellen. he doesn't believe her. she tells him that she's got a bad feeling about this trip, begs him not to go, tells him about her nightmare - and what does he do? he calls it a childish fantasy, tells her to stop worrying, and implies that she would benefit from talking to a doctor. saying shit softly doesn't make it any less dismissive or insulting, like i'm sorry but this is peak Disbelieving Husband in a Horror Movie behaviour. he only changed his mind once Orlok put him through the horrors himself, which is also a perfectly standard thing for a Disbelieving Husband to do in the second act. furthermore, from the beginning of the film, he neglects Ellen's emotional needs, is uncomfortable with her abnormalities, and doesn't even really know what sort of gifts she likes - and again, these are all standard flaws for a Disbelieving Husband to exhibit. they're indicative of a disconnect between him and his wife that he continuously refuses to bridge.

caring for someone doesn't mean you can't neglect or harm them, and that applies to everyone - including Normal People like Thomas, like Harding, like Sievers, like the viewer; and that's the point of the film

realized i haven't posted in ages and that I never posted the drawing that initially sparked the idea of my svsss AU.

Tbh it lowkey died in general, I got too self conscious about it, bc I was unsure about things and figured that the idea probably wouldn't be compliant with the genre at all lol

I could've bullshitted my way thru, I always said the AU was held together by ducktape and a dream but idk lol

Anyways AU started bc I was like "!! what if SQQ survives Binghe! ...but he'd be have no limbs... doll prosthetics!!!" and it sounded cool. and if I'm really really honest, it was just bc I was looking at Scaramouche fanart and was thinking about Shen Jiu lmao

and from there it spiraled. there are still many aspects I like about my ideas for this AU but who knows if I'll ever repurpose them or anything lol

maybe someone still likes my idea tho, who knows :,D

Galvatron has a little brother called Megastorm who wants to kill him (Galvatron knows this and still makes all the excuses for him because he loves his little bro). Megastorm wants to be the leader and at the start of the show Starscream bragged that he'll: "Let Megastorm deal with his brother, then I'll defeat Megastorm and take command!" But Megastorm is a bit of a petulant asswipe and Starscream had a kind of "Hey maybe I don't want to be the leader as much as I want a leader who is nice and respects me" and actively tries to protect Galvs in some episodes.

One episode Galvatron threatens to fire them if they fail (no physical punishment, just unemployment) and when BB, Starscreams best buddy, worries about getting fired Starscream tells him "Nah it's all good, Galvatron hates to cut off a good worker, do your best and nothing will happen regardless of success" (something I feel was spoken from experience honestly).

Galvatrons motivation is to become strong enough to protect the peace. It's only in the final episode there are some rushed lines regarding taking over the universe in such a manner that it feels like they forgot he was meant to be evil. The only time he ever actually attacks his own men is when he gets drugged/isn't in control (drank spiked oil or was being controlled by his 'dragon brain'/animalistic) and even then he more just chases them around.

BWII is a very weird show where it feels like you're picking up on a theme only for that to go nowhere and missed opportunities.

Beast Wars Second Galvatron

#I mean he is genuinely nicer to Lio Jr than Jrs own dad #I haven't seen the movie I think this series had #but yeah Convoy is actually a genuine ass to his kid the whole series but Galv is like “hey kid wanna hang with us? No? Ok I respect it bye #it has been a while but yeah the series feels very...#like the plot wasn't all there #the 'cons dont feel like bad guys a lot and the 'bots don't feel like good guys sometimes #I mean one of them literally tried to kidnap a girl to make her love him because he couldn't accept her going “no” several times so uh YIKE #sorry to ramble back but he was honestly real nice and the show did him a MAJOR disservice with that ending #missed opportunity for a bad guy-good guy team up #if any character deserved it it was him </3

and I feel disappointed and a little bit misled tbh by the choices they have made-

These are two thoughts that can coexist btw

#911 lone star #911 lone star season 5 #like im not an idiot #okay i am but that’s not what this is #i was not expecting 20 minutes of emotional conversation #but bare minimum Tarlos is NOT a peck on the cheek with no actual dialogue #in the entire episode #bare minimum Tarlos used to be they would talk about things and it wouldn’t take that long #like this episode in context- this is like in season 3 is TK woke from the coma and the next scene was the 126 is going to be knocked down-#and we learn TK and Carlos moved in together form talking- we didn’t get the welcome home TK scene #this is like if in season two after TK stormed out after the farmers market- we never got the scene where he comes back #we see him storm out and the next episode they’re fine with nothing in between #this like is if the police station scene never happened - cause why do we need to see them talk about things?#TK storms out of Carlos’s place and the next we see they’re at darts-#cause we didn’t need any of that emotional bonding stuff right??#this is most like in season two when we see things get physical becuase Gabriel arrested Owen and no one knows why #and the next we see TK is coming home and we never saw them talk about it #although I would still argue this one is worse #look I’m not talking for anyone but myself here-#but the reason I know this should have been more is because those are the standards this show has set #these characters needed to have that talk-#in particular Carlos has gone through so much seemingly alone the last twenty four hours -#there’s no reason we shouldn’t have seen them have that talk #like forget the fandom for a minute- these make believe characters deserved a better conclusion to this arc than this #tarlos #carlos reyes #tk strand #okay im done #court dismissed - bring in the dancing lobsters

When I found out that @chessman-protocol boy Crit liked Astronomy, let’s just say I was beyond estatic and immediately planned this little comic. Here’s to my boy Vincent doing his best to make friends with folks who share similar interests 😅💙

Funny enough, I didn’t realize I put this in Vincent character’s until I looked at the whole thing, but Vincent very much shares the lack of stranger danger the way I did/ I do to this day. To quote one of my past managers I’m “abnormally friendly” or whatever

I can’t tell you how many times even as a small child (drove my parents nuts) that I saw a cool person with whatever connecting factor and I just straight up walked to them and was like “Ok cool. We’re friends now.” And nobody’s really stopped me? So apparently I have friends now. 😆

Vincent however is just a wholesome baby boy who doesn’t realize he’s actually an intimidating hunk of a turtle and randomly walking up to strangers and not saying anything can be taken the wrong way.

Like I said, he’s trying his best. He wasn’t exactly the most socialized if you can’t tell, but he does love dearly and is certainly a boone of a friend to have once you get past the inevitable social awkwardness. He’s loyal to put because he really doesn’t know better, and I adore him for that. Anyway, dunno if Crit knows any ASL or not, but either way Vincent is just excited to meet somebody else who likes space ✨🌌 💙

I'm back in the Miguel trenches and I just saw this and I just about fell to the floor in tears because this is literally what's gonna happen to Mateo..

(incoming nonsense rant in tags, sighh)

#obvi yeah Miguel would not in general BUT Im crazy and am gonna make this about the Arachnopi family #like even after Mateo helps Arachnopi with their funky situationship they still aren't end game #they will all one day go back to their respective dimensions. no mater how much Mateo literally BEGS them to stay together #he finally had his “parents” for a little over a year. you really think he'd be willing to let that go?#obvi not. and it consumes him. pain that could've easily been preventable if he just kept himself out if their business in the first place #He feels their presence missing for the rest of his life #and knowing it could all be prevented gives him a new life mission #To make sure no other dumb kid goes down the same path of dumb decisions he did.#He basically becomes a Miguel 2.0 who specializes in stopping young spider people for dimension hopping for personal relationships #He’d thankfully never meet another May/Miguel variant #but he will get comments from younger spiders who know Miguel that they see the resemblance #Especially since he’d constantly overwork himself which makes him look older then he is even when he’s only in his 20s #And like I said earlier Miguel would be devastated to see Mateo like this #ESPECIALLY if he’s older and goes through his inevitable btsv character development #he’d see so much if his Atsv version of himself in Mateo. But he wouldn’t dare visit him after all those years #And if he did he’d better be ready for a fight. Mateo would not take seeing him again years later lightly #Then there’s May. Oh my goodness May Octavius..sighh #Mentally May is very weak. She doesn’t fight against anything that happens to herself or others. Very much “it is what it is” mentality #She uses it as an excuse at times. Especially canon events.#She’d see Mateo’s future as a canon event. Something unpreventable and unchangeable. He’s stuck to that fate forever #Like how she is as Doc Ock. So she’d literally just shrug it off with no sympathy for him. That’s just how life is.#(her maternal instincts are basically non existent. She was never ment to be a “mother” lol)#(She literally sucks. I get Anu in one thing. She saw her home Planet get destroyed. She had to take care of her younger brother who in her eyes was good for nothing. She somehow landed a job and thought it wss because Rhys saw potential in her. Her hero did. She wanted to get approval and safety, she forgot to care for others before the game.

I get Anu.

She found security in Atlas.

Too bad Rhys has changed....

#Hhhhh #Long analysis post of how Rhys behaviour in new tales and borderlands 3 is so close to jack #Because he was only working for Hyperion and learnt strategies from it #He never got to see any other company and as a boss - he can't go and see how they treat others #He had to on his own without any friends find himself #After Sasha left #He idolised her so much to a point once she left he got back to his prev idol #And Anu in turn took his behaviour by becoming meaner to others #She also is panicked like him.#They both have nervous breakdowns #She also leans onto echo devices #But man #I feel sad for her #So much potential in a character. Gone with some rusty writing #She deserved better. All of them did.#Like i can go on how Fran's obsession with Octavio is related to her hypersexuality and trauma response of losing her young life #But hhhhhhh #Yeah #New tales from the borderlands #Anu #Rhys #Rhys strongfork #My ramblings

I just found out the horrific truth that Wilbur was the one who hurt Shelby. I have been a fan of Shelby since I was young. I am disappointed but I will continue to support Shelby Shubble through all of this and like many of us did with Forever, seperate the character from fhe streamer. That's all I have to say.
