A bit of an emotional (and embarrassing) post this one, heh.

Ever since I got into ROTTMNT, It was clear to see it's got such a passionate, and open fandom that follows. Even years later, people still obsess over it as their main fandom, me included. It's truly remarkable to me in such a community <3.

One of the things that stood out to me was the amount of support for OCs and self-insert OCs. Everyone just eats up each other's art and characters, it's so fun to see.

This community is also great for comfort. Heaps of us fans find comfort in at least one of the characters in TMNT. It was surprising to see how much support people get from posting their comfort art. For me at least — it's quite nerve-wracking to post personal art like that. It's a blessing to be honest...

So I thought it might not hurt to post a few of my sketches of ROTTMNT comfort that I've done over the years. Some of them were done just on my phone late at night when I needed it. The character is just me but I like to classify them as my OC, Ollie. Not canon Ollie, but a ROTTMNT version. They're an otter mutant who has the blessing of being able to transform into their human form like Karai from 2012!TMNT.

Drawing these really helped me in more ways than I thought they would. And who knows, maybe these could provide some comfort to others <3

It's pretty clear to see that Raph is my main source of comfort, heh.

But the other brothers also provide different forms of comfort to me.

I have heaps of little comic bits in my sketchbook of these lil' guys from quite a some time ago (the last 3 Images being 2 of them)

BTW I DON'T ROMANTICIZE MYSELF OR OLLIE WITH THE TURTLES. If there's any confusion, I just personally find kisses and cuddling something that close friends share to express their pure and innocent affection.

Through my endless nights of staring up at my ceiling and thinking about the turtle brothers, they've formed into a comfort to fall back onto at times when they're needed.

(I'm going to refer to Ollie as 'me')

☆ Mikey is like my little brother, I would comfort and cuddle him any hour of the day. It's such a nice feeling — the idea of comforting someone, and sometimes they'd comfort you back.

☆ I see Leo as a childhood friend, a person I've become comfortable with, and him me. I headcanon him as a person who's unafraid to get up in your personal space, and craves some kind of contact often. Contact is a safe space for him, especially with his brothers.

☆ Donnie is a bit complicated to me when coming to comfort. I like the idea of just sitting by him as we nod off to sleep. I don't think he'd use Ollie as someone he'd seek comfort from, but being in each other's presence would make for a pleasant evening. A time to let his guard down.

☆ I love everything about Raph. He's my #1 comfort character for many different reasons. The most appealing part of his character design is that he's a massive, spikey turtle, but acts like a silly little guy. A sweetheart through and through (many of my other comfort characters fit this description). He's a physical symbol of protection. Nothing can harm you if you're in those arms. For me, this is on an emotional level too. He is just the sweetest. Raph means so much to me, and has for years.
