(Mtg anon) YOOOO? I only recently saw the new capenna set (and like it's already one of my favorites, if not The fav) and I was like "hmmm. Angels and cities. Makes me think of last days." And then when I was sorting them I was reading some of the flavor text like "huh? Angels falling? Hmm" and I sent the ask like "lol imagine if I got one of their inspirations, as if" BUT YO. Damn now I DEFINITELY gotta reread the fic (if just to put that Aesthetic-tm- onto the angels)

Also like I adore how this set did angels, compared to previous ones. They really feel Beyond, like they aren't just people with wings, it's SO cool and fits so well into the aesthetic in a way I never would have thought of

YEAH the inspiration ended up mostly being aesthetically and a LITTLE BIT what the thing the angels was being used for but like. you’re so right. the AESTHETICS of the angels in that set are SO GOOD like. If you want three cards that are DEFINITELY aesthetic inspiration.

like aesthetically last days ended up not nearly as art deco as just like, noir? unlike capenna which is more art-deco. but like, these definitely inspired it while I was writing everything out, lol.
